President Donald J Trump : What Are The Consequences.…

Election Watch

Hillary-Clinton
Hillary-Clinton

It’s quite easy to be disinterested in American Elections which are due in less than two months.
Understandably, some people (not Americans) may feel removed or even disinterested in the process.
Nevertheless, given the ever increasing interconnected nature of the world in which we live we may be doing ourselves a disservice by ignoring what is playing out in front of our eyes.

Regardless of our nationality or our sense of patriotism to wherever, what happens in America shapes what happens wherever we come from across the globe.
It is easy to find this fact objectionable but that inter-connectedness makes an American President almost a de-facto world president of sorts.

Certainly, an American president as commander-in-chief has vast reaches across the planet.
He/She has under his/her control the most powerful military in the history of mankind, and delivery systems which makes the amazing weaponry of the American Armed Forces deliverable with terrifying accuracy and effectiveness.

TEMPERAMENT

That is why it is important than an American President has the right temperament ‚not someone whose wounded ego may trigger a nuclear apocalypse.
Lets set aside the silliness about business deals which went wrong or e‑mail servers which could have been hacked, revealing low levels of classified materials (at best).
Lets set aside failed Universities which was never even a third rate college to begin with. We may even disregard all the talk about Foundations or pay for play.
Far more substantive is the existential threat a Donald Trump Presidency would pose for the security of our planet.

Donald J Trump
Donald J Trump

On the issue of war and peace. On Immigration. On trade. Religious liberty. On Global movement of people as a result of wars and national disasters, Donald Trump has demonstrated that he would re-write the world order and it would not be pretty.
Donald Trump’s campaign began years ago because of his money or the media’s belief that he has lots of it. It may reasonably be said he is a media creation. As if that was not enough they gave him a reality show to build a media profile and name recognition which formed the catalyst for his White House run.

DISRESPECT FOR OUR PRESIDENT

His ‘show me your papers’ assault against the nation’s first African-American president has re-energized the smoldering embers of racial animus resulting in exponential increases in hate groups (according to the Southern Poverty Law Center and other groups which track hate groups).

IMMIGRATION

Trumps wants to build a wall on America’s southern border with Mexico, stating he will make Mexico pay for it. Of course when face to face with the Mexican President he made no mention of it. He wants to deport over 11 million people living in the shadows and even revoke citizenship of children born to undocumented residents.
RELIGIOUS INTOLERANCE

Donald Trump wants to ban all Muslims entering the United States. He also wants to kill relatives of terror suspects.
That means anyone who has an errant relative is at risk of being killed by the United States Government under a President Trump. Imagine the implications of that.
 WARS

He declares that he would fire at Iranian warships if they came too close . General Barry McCafferya man who knows what he is talking about-told NBC on Saturday that those decisions are bravado . The General said those decisions would be arrived at by US Naval Officers; not by Donald Trump.
He promised to engage China aggressively on trade a move which could potentially see a trade war develop between the two countries, devastating consequences for both countries, and potentially push both countries closer to armed conflict.

RACE RELATIONS

Open Carry Vigilantes Terrorize Ferguson Protester
Open Carry Vigilantes Terrorize Ferguson Protesters

On race relations and the existing distrust and tension between communities of color and police, Donald Trump’s response is to empower and throw more support behind police. He has not offered a solution to the conflict which means his actions as president would further stoke the fires of resentment, distrust, and tension which could potentially see America’s streets become war zones or on the other hand an approximately 35 – 40 million Black people returned to a state of second class-status on par with the Jim Crow era.

IGNORANCE

In all my years as a political observer I have never seen another candidate for the Presidency of the United States which has and should evoke fear and trepidation as does Donald Trump.
His absolute ignorance of the most important issues are shocking. His lack of grasp of the most basic issue is stunning.

Yet despite this, the guy is less than two months away from the presidency, and the most potent nuclear arsenal in the world.
The frightening reality is that despite his demonstrable lack of understanding of the most critical areas which a potential president ought to have, his supporters clamor for him with cult-like fervor.

HIS SUPPORT BASE

Hillary Clinton the Democratic nominee says half of Trump’s support comes from a group she calls the “basket of deplorables.” Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphopic-you name it, according to her.
By Saturday September 10th Clinton walked the “half“comment back, fearing she may have committed her “47% moment” in election history or maybe then Senator Barack Obama’s guns and religion comment in his initial bid for the presidency.
The difference between the comments of Clinton and that of Romney and Obama is that Clinton made her statement publicly theirs were made in private events.
Clinton of course is held to a different standard than Donald Trump . In fact many have labeled him Teflon.
He brags he could shoot someone on Fifth avenue and he would not lose a single supporter.
 SO WHO ARE THEY ?

These are real images, not fiction..
These are real images, not fiction..

Well Hillary Clinton got it exactly right!
Clinton was absolutely not saying that half of all Republicans are deplorable, she categorically said half of Trump’s supporters are.
To begin with, he is a big admirer of Vladimir Putin the Russian strongman. He admires the late Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein. He tells the thugs at his rallies to hit people, take their coats and turn them loose in the cold.
He surround himself with a bullies and wannabe strongmen like Rudolph Giuliani, and another wannabe tough guy New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

He hired Paul Manafort, a man with alleged ties to the Russians. After firing Manafort, he went even deeper into the bottom of the barrel digging out Breitbart’s Stephen K Bannon from the extreme right fringe to run his campaign.
At Trump campaign they sell T‑shirts calling for the imprisonment of Hillary Clinton.
They demand that she be killed. They display confederate flags. For all intents and purposes, Trumps rallies are glorified Klan Rallies.

Yes-the media does a terrific job of trying to sanitize Donald Trump. Why not? It was the media which made made him a celebrity
If he becomes president we have the media to thank for it.
It is said his support comes from uneducated white working class people. They have no interest in facts. They care nothing about the fact that he is dangerous for and to the rest of of the world. He represents their point of view and what they care about is all that matters to them.
“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any of my supporters” .
Yes he absolutely could; that does not speak to Trump it speaks to those who support him.

A potential president Donald J. Trump will be vastly consequential for America and it will be equally as consequential for the rest of the world.

Americans Will Wax Nostalgic And Long For The Obama Years.…

mike
As the United States enters the final nine weeks of its presidential election campaigning, some of the issues front and center are National security , Immigration and the Economy.
Within each of those subject areas are significant debates about how to best improve the lives and security of Americans.

There is much misinformation coming from the political right without the appropriate levels of pushback from Democrats, considering that it was under President George W Bush and the leadership of Dick Cheney that America got entangled in a war in Iraq many will agree should never have been waged.

Out of that entanglement arose Al Qaeda and the most recent terrorist group ISIL.
It bears mentioning that what is being considered a colossal failure of foreign policy leadership by the Obama Administration, is relentless drone warfare on ISIL the group Obama inherited , a draw-down of American troops from Iraq, as was agreed to and signed by President George W Bush. Significant stabilization of Afghanistan as can be expected , and the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

In addition to that there is the little issue of no new wars started by this sitting president, a fact which seem to get lost in the blanket litany of lies and misinformation which seem to be the new normal.
This follows what we have seen over the previous two election cycles , republicans would adopt talking points which everyone knows are lies and they would flood the airwaves with surrogates who like robots, repeat the lies, completely oblivious to fact checkers or journalists who push back with the facts.
This is the new Republican party, a party of liars, the party of Donald Trump.
One would have thought that truth and honor would be the guiding principles which would inspire the next generation of leaders? Not so if the Republican party gets it way. It’s win at all cost .
This supposed period of relative calm and lack of outright conflict which is being misinterpreted as a failure will most certainly be looked back at with longing and a sense of nostalgia.

The Immigration debates are legitimate but must be viewed within the context of Republican intransigence on the issue, and all other issues. Not just against president Obama but against the last Republican President George W Bush . Republicans refusal to address the issue may have impacted the candidacy of Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and John Kasich for president.
Additionally senior republican leaders like John McCain have been forced to run away from finding a fix for immigration, even though they are quite aware that it is an issue which needs urgent attention.

Republicans have correctly taken the position that illegal immigration is serious and must be addressed. Unfortunately they have offered no meaningful solutions outside draconian breaking up of families and unconstitutional tactics which are antithetical to the stated values of America.
They argue that once the southern borders are secured, then the question of the millions of undocumented people will be addressed.
In the same breath they say there will be no path to citizenship for these millions of people. Some have gone even further, suggesting that children born to undocumented people should not be afforded automatic American citizenship, and those who already are, should have their citizenship revoked. !!!

The shocking implications of this, were it ever to become reality is that there would be tens of millions, and an ever increasing number of people who are effectively an underclass of second class serfs who are unable to vote, or actively participate in the only country many of them have ever known.
The unforeseen implications of those actions are stunning, and can only be viewed as recklessly shortsighted and dangerous .
One has to look no further than France and the way North Africans are ghettoized and marginalized then extrapolate from that how America could be negatively impacted should those demands become law.

Which begs the question . Are the Republicans blind to the consequences of the demands they make?
If not what are the driving forces behind their demands?
Before we delve into the reasons it must be understood that our current president has deported more people than any president in modern history.
It bears mentioning that he has also hired more border guards than any other president.
And probably more importantly according to experts, the number of people seeking to come through the nation’s southern border is almost negligible.
I highlighted the term southern border because Republicans have made no mention about anyone coming into the country illegally through the northern border with Canada. Neither is there any mention of Israelis, Chinese, Russians or any Europeans for that matter who come and simply stay.
In fact some Republicans have openly said those are the people they want.
When those comments are juxtaposed with their arguments that Latino Immigrants vote democratic the driving force behind the heated immigration battle becomes clear.
It is political but more than that it goes straight to the browning of America .
It is the heart of Donald Trump’s candidacy and the rise of the Nativist dogma which has dominated this election cycle.

My final thought is on the economy which is still clawing it’s way back from the ravages of the Bush presidency.
No it’s not perfect !
When was it ever perfect?
Imagine if Republicans had set partisan and Racial attitudes aside on the night President Barack Obama was being inaugurated. Imagine if on that very night they gathered in that DC Restaurant to discuss sabotaging his presidency, they were gathered to discuss ways of working with the president for the good of the American people.
Imagine if Mitch McConnell’s sole purpose was not dedicated to making the president a one term president.
Imagine if the America people living in some of the most depressed red states had shunned the divisive rhetoric of a bloviating comedian who wanted the president to fail.
When a president fail don’t we all fail? Why would we bet against ourselves for political and racial reasons? It makes no sense.
Imagine if Republicans had not dedicated the almost eight years of the Obama Presidency to blanket obstructionism.
Imagine if they had passed a Transportation bill which would have certainly seen Main street registering monumental gains as Wall street has .
Despite all of the subversion and obstruction Obama is enormously popular, more popular than Ronald Reagan was at this time in his presidency. History will judge Obama one of the greatest presidents and he did it with no Republican help.
They talk enormously about Reagan , but Tip O’neill worked with Ronald Reagan> Even Newt Gingrich worked with Bill Clinton. What will be John Boehner and Mitch McConnell’s story?

Give The PNP Some Gasoline, Some Matches And Let Rome Burn.…..

mike

Political parties are run by people . People are immoral, corrupt self-serving and arrogant . As such it’s not out of the ordinary to see political parties go through serious transitions . In some cases becoming relics of their former selves, until they get the message voters want them to get, that it cannot be business as usual.

The Republican party in the United States would probably be a regional party were it not for the undemocratic practice of gerrymandering . A practice which creates grotesquely shaped districts to keep them withing the party in control of the legislative branch.

In my native Jamaica the Jamaica Labor Party has gone through it’s own learning cure, a curve of it’s own creation , made possible by arrogance, selfishness ‚elitism and infighting .
As such the people gravitated to what they viewed as their least worse choice, the PNP. Through it all, the JLP continued on a self destructive path which allowed the PNP to hold power for an unprecedented 14 12 years unbroken tenure in office.
Yes there was vote buying, yes there were other methods used by the PNP to keep power.
Nevertheless none of that matters when the Jamaican people make up their minds that they want a certain party out of office, as we witnessed in the last national elections.
In that unbroken period of time in office Percival James Patterson, Portia Lucretia Simpson Miller and company not only wrecked the Island’s economy , they ushered in a popular culture which places no value on human life, A generation which largely eschews morality. A generation which has completely redefined what it meant to be Jamaican.
In the process the PNP, it’s leadership and dyed-in-the-wool supporters took on the mantra Jumeka a pnp kuntry , and actually believed it.

The PNP took our country from the pearl of the Caribbean to the pariah of the region. Our people are ridiculed and shunned across the region and beyond. Our county which other Caribbean natives privately claimed as their own is now publicly castigated and disrespected.
Through it all I prayed and hoped for two things, the rebirth of the conservative party Alexander Bustamante created and the total destruction of the cancer we know as the PNP.

I believe I may be the only Jamaican not in a quandary about the turmoil within Norman Manley’s party today.
Why ?
Because I have consistently prayed and argued for the demise of that political party. As such I cannot be dismayed that my prayers are being answered.
I look at the PNP as a student of history. I consistently remind myself that Bustamante a founding member of the PNP left it and formed the JLP , recognizing that the party he helped to form was becoming too radical for his liking.
If the party was too radical then imagine now..
When we look at Jamaica and how she could have been positioned on the global stage today , what with the indomitable spirit of our people , our entrepreneurial spirit , our intelligence, we could be the nation the world point to, as it points to Israel today, minus the oppressive occupying boots on the neck of anyone.

Despite this, in areas where the PNP has not stifled our country , eg, athletics, our athletes have consistently demonstrated what a tiny nation can accomplish when they are allowed to soar and the corrosive corrupting influences of politics have not infected their abilities.
No nation even remotely close to our size and population have accomplished what our athletes have, even up to the Rio Olympics.
Our young students continue to defy conventional wisdom, tearing down mental barriers as they demonstrate the power of the mind academically.
Juxtapose that with the areas where politics have dominated and we can see who the true enemies of the Jamaican people are.

Our diaspora communities continue to be tremendous sources of growth, development and support, not just for their respective adopted countries but for Jamaica land we love as well.
To my fellow Jamaicans I humbly suggest, let Rome burn. If you can, give them some gasoline , give them some matches.
It’s time the members of the PNP and it’s leadership be reminded that Jamaica is our country, not PNP not JLP , it’s our country.
Not their private piggy bank to be plundered . Not for them to sell off to the highest bidder. Not for them to use to fatten their pockets and our people are certainly not there for them to hold in contempt.

Trumps Lying Black Pastor Busted And Exposed.……

(1)“For the first time I saw humbleness”[sic]
(2)“He sounded scripted but I still believe it was from the heart

Couple of quotes from parishioners from the Detroit church Donald Trump visited on Saturday. We certainly are a people of varying opinions and beliefs , not sure how he could be perceived as scripted while being genuine and from the heart but I digress.

Look we are a forgiving people, we are a loving people, we are a people predisposed to giving people the benefit of the doubt even when they haven’t earned it.
Sometimes to a fault…

Trust is earned, you do not get to spend seven decades disparaging and discriminating against me and then show up talking about many people don’t know Lincoln was a republican because you want their vote.

Then again that may very well be just me, that may be attributable to that fierce and indomitable Jamaican spirit , that Ashanti blood which courses through my veins.

You go to a black church talking about “some people don’t know that Lincoln was a republican” , when did Trump learn this.
Don’t come to us talking about Lincoln as if black folk should be eternally grateful to the republican party because he signed the emancipation proclamation, he did so because he was forced to.
Lincoln needed bodies for the war effort.Lincoln needed to keep the French from getting involved in the war to protect their territory of Louisiana. The emancipation proclamation accomplishes both goals tactically for Lincoln
Secondly this republican party hasn’t been the party of Lincoln since the 1968 signing of the civil rights act.
chameleon

I was pleasantly surprised said one parishioner who heard Trump in Detroit Saturday” it was like it was a new Donald Trump ” .
Ha ha ha ..I really don’t mean to laugh.
As a kid growing up in rural Jamaica we loved to throw rocks and everything we could find at the numerous chameleons that graced the trees we loved to climb. We simply called them green lizards. Back then we thought they were mad at us when we threw rocks at them. As we got older we learned they changed from that beautiful green to make themselves less conspicuous when they face danger.

pigmy chameleon

So even though it was the very same reptile it was able to change itself to suit whatever situation it was in .
That is vintage Donald Trump.

Trump the relatively sane-looking wannabe president trying to appear presidential standing next to Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto was exponentially different than the much darker Trump who threw out red meat to a ravenous right-wing crowd in Arizona after leaving his meeting with Pena Nieto.

So of course the Donald Trump who have Blacks summarily kicked out of his events, would be different than the Trump who turned up in Detroit on Saturday to change his appearance with white voters.
What the hell, why not use these props to his advantage , to get his point across to his real target audience.
Hey , he may even get a few of the negroid props to vote for him , why not, a vote is a vote right, nothing wrong with using one stone to kill two birds?

It’s not an overly brilliant strategy , neither is it a silly strategy . It is a strategy which could actually work under normal circumstances, but for it’s transparent nature.
It could absolutely have worked had Trump not had such a sordid history of racist bigotry.
Trump will get a few black votes , not many . Much the same way he will get some Hispanic votes despite his caustic barrage of hateful rhetoric against their entire race.
Because there are Mexican immigrants who refer to Mexicans as “Illegals”, one went as far as to say the Mexicans must be stopped or “soon there will be a taco truck on every corner”.

Pastor Mark Burns

Wow !!!
You absolutely cannot make that kind of stuff up.
There will always be the likes of Marco Gutierrez, and of course the black apostate who parades as a pastor, Mark Burns the fire-breathing liar who peddles religion, his lips dripping with perdition .
Lied about serving in the Army National Reserve. (Served in his state national reserve). Said he overstated his accomplishments. No Mark you speak often about not being politically correct, so let me help you with this non-political assessment, you did not overstate your accomplishments.
You straight out lied and that makes you a damn lying fraud.
Lied about completing a bachelors of science degree from North Greenville University.
Lied about being a fraternal member of Kappa Alpha Psi. Lies, lies, lies, yet you purport to be a man of God, no you are a fraud and a charlatan.

When exposed in a lie by a black CNN Anchor Victor Blackwell the huckster said he did it so he would be taken seriously!
No fake pastor, the path to respectability begins with respect, truthfulness, honor, letting your word be your bond.
You weren’t seeking to be taken seriously, you were seeking hype, you were seeking attention and not the kind of attention you should have craved . The attention of God Almighty.
But Burns was not done , he accused Blackwell and CNN of trying to , get this , “I thought we were doing a profile, and all of a sudden you’re here to try to destroy my character,”
Did this lying bastard just say “character”?
No faux-pastor Burns the interviewer was simply doing his job, he cannot destroy that which does not exist.
You did that to yourself when you decide to fake a resume’.

How appropriate that this lying huckster would be aligned to another huckster trying to con his way into the Presidency?
Notice in his tweet how he couched himself in the word of the lord to pull the wool over the eyes of those who sit and listen to him in tweet below.

I’M SO THANKFUL FORGOD WHO LOOKS BEYOND OUR FAULTS AND MEETS OUR NEEDS..I LOVE YOU ALL.

Question For Blacks, Hispanics And Enrique Peña Nieto: When Did A Leopard Ever Change It’s Spot.….

mike

Word of unsolicited advice and maybe a question to and for the African-American community, the Latino-community and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, what made you think a Leopard would change it’s spot?
Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto
Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto

What is it about the record of Donald Trump that made you want to give him the benefit of the doubt? I’m not about to re-litigate Trump’s record of bigotry , xenophobia, misogyny, divisiveness, and fascism.
In today’s world a simple google search is enough to shine a light on pretty much any subject.

I am at pains in my efforts to find a rationale for Black Americans supposed desire to have Donald J Trump meet with them . To begin with Donald Trump had no use for blacks throughout his seven decades on the planet. In fact he did not have any use for blacks even up to through the republican primaries. Black were summarily expelled by his goons, a black man was sucker punched by an old trailer trash , and of course the white police attacked the victim. A young black woman was physically and verbally assaulted and kicked out to Trump’s gleeful cheering,.
“Knock the hell out of them will you,I love the old days , in the old days they would have been outta here on a stretcher” .
More consequential, his attempts to delegitimize the Nation’s first African-American president, suggesting that the president was not born in the United States, a demand to see the president’s birth certificate , which is the equivalent of the show me your paper rules of years gone by.
The fact is that this tanned buffoon is an unmitigated racist bigot.

So what about this history that say to American Blacks , maybe we should care about this buffoon?
I mean this is a guy who spent $85.ooo to demagogue and defame 5 young black and Latino youths ages 14 – 15 who were wrongly arrested by NYPD cops and convicted of rape in 1989. The youths were convicted , thanks to Trump’s full page ads in local papers calling for the death penalty for the juveniles, the poisoned jury pool returned a guilty verdict resulting in a 13 year incarceration before they were eventually exonerated.
Trumps unequivocal support for police, regardless of their abuse of the laws today was the same for the cops who framed the five juveniles in 1989.
Donald J Trump the landlord refused to rent to black tenants, those are facts.

In light of his characterization of Mexicans as rapists and murderers, what was it about those statements which endeared Trump to the supposed Hispanic advisory council, before they were shamed into quitting ?
What better way to judge someone than the words they utter ?
I’m reminded about this little gem.…

The scorpion wanted to hitch a ride across the river begged the frog for a ride.
The frog adamantly refused citing the deadly consequences of the scorpion’s sting.
The scorpion asked ‚why would I sting you when you are giving me a ride?
The frog relented .
Mid-stream the scorpion struck .
The frog feeling the life draining from him asked, why did you, you promised not to?
The scorpion replied , I am a scorpion that’s what I do..

What did Enrique Peña Nieto expect to gain from having Trump in Mexico city ? We are now hearing that the invite by Enrique Peña Nieto was just cursory and not really intended for Trump to take up, it was along the line of come visit with us and speak to us , get to know us before disrespecting us kind of invite.
The same invite was extended to former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.
Clinton understands protocol, clinton has not disparaged Mexicans, Clinton has a lifetime of meeting with world leaders, she understood the invite was diplomatic courtesy, kinda like a neighbor saying we should get together sometime. You know you are not going to their house , they know they aren’t coming to your house, but it’s something to say.

Not to Trump and his campaign, they saw mileage , much like his attempts to extract mileage from the clueless Black Pastors who prostitute the gospel, their dignity and their congregations all for a chance to gain some spotlight and a chance to see their stupid faces on television.

Trump has no use for neither Black nor Latino voters . He is using the Black church as he has the Hispanic advisory council, as he has used Enrique Peña Nieto to show white people with conscience that the allegations of racism against him are unfounded. That is the strategy of the newly appointed Kellyanne Conway.
You don’t have to speak to them, speak at them and over their heads to our target audience which must turn out in record numbers if we are to win.
The problem for Enrique Peña Nieto whose approval ratings are in the tank, is that he missed a golden opportunity to embarrass the bloviating bigot.
He erred egregiously in elevating Trump to an equal, giving Trump that platform elevated him to statesmanship Trump has earned but desperately craves. However Enrique Peña Nieto could have made lemonade from the lemon he dealt himself. He could have stood up for Mexico and the Mexican people by highlighting the mutual benefits which exist between his nation and the United States.
He could have chided Trump for being a uninformed bigot , he choked , as a result Trump emerged from that visit as the victor , leaving Enrique Peña Nieto to flail away using his twitter account,. He had a chance to crush Trump and he did not , advantage Trump.

Donald Trump is Donald Trump he will not change a damn thing about who he is, as such the Hispanic and Black mannequins who allow themselves to be used as props to dress up the presidential ambitions of a bigot should feel shame.
The problem is that the need to rub shoulders with massa may “TRUMP” sense for these blacks and hispanic props.

Present PNP Graft Scandal Highlights Blatant Abuse Of Power And Abject Indifference To The Rule Of Law.….

mike

During the last national election cycle the People’s National Party’s (PNP) leadership refused to engage in debates with the then Opposition Jamaica Labor Party (JLP).
In what has now been revealed to be a shocking case of irony, the logic for the PNP’s refusal, was that the then leader of the Opposition and now Prime Minister Andrew Holness, had compared the then Prime Minister, now opposition leader Portia Simpson Miller to a con artist.
I will get back to the irony later.

Manley’s Son Joseph :“Holness House Vulgar And Over-sized”: Confirms Envy.…

Within that irony was another irony, it was Simpson Miller who first labeled Holiness’s tax cut plan a con-job.
If Holness’s plan was a con-job, by inference it could reasonably be construed that the architect Holness was being labeled a con-artist. Yet Miller refused to engage in debates with Holness, she further threatened legal action through one of the ambulance chasers who parade as constitutional experts.

It was on that flimsy excuse that the then Prime Minister thumbed her nose at the nation’s 2.8 million people by refusing to tell them what plans she had for them going forward in televised debates. Clearly Simpson Miller and her handlers miscalculated in their belief that they would have been rewarded with a new mandate after refusing to answer any policy questions during their term in office.

Holness’s House A Product Of Envy Manley Sowed.….

More shocking than the refusal to debate, was the party’s curious fixation with a house under construction which is the property of the then opposition leader Andrew Holness.
In order to have the issue of his finances out of the way so he could concentrate on the task of winning the election, Holness was forced to reveal the sources of funding for the palatial mansion he had under construction.

Even after revealing his funding sources, the PNP kept up the attack on Holness, in a way which could only be defined in plain Jamaican colloquial vernacular as “bad mind and grudgeful” . The general inference from the line of attack was that there was something untoward, something nefarious , something unethical, something criminal even, about the Holness’s ability to afford a home of that size.

THE IRONY

It has now become crystal clear that the fixation with Holness’s house, was to cover up the massive corruption and graft which was happening in their own party.
It was a ruse designed to deflect attention from where the nation’s attention ought to have been focused.
This writer has consistently pointed to the corruption which has defined the PNP and yes the JLP .
However as I have said consistently, the level of corruption within the PNP has demonstrably been consistent with sub-Saharan African and tin-pin South American kleptomaniac regimes .

This may be defined by the many scandals under it’s leadership, scandals highlighted by the contractor general’s department. The TRAFIGURA scandal. Cuban light bulb scandal. Iran sugar deal. OUTAMENI. Refusal to deconstruct garrisons. Using tax-payers money as their own. and the shameful and disgusting abuses of power which are not seen in any other nation in the hemisphere. This has had consequential negative repercussions for Jamaicans in the way they are treated particularly in the CARICOM region.

chinese_flag_beijing_-_img_1104

It is no surprise then that this scandal of pay-for-play involving Chinese Contractors operating on the Island has now come to the fore.
What person who knows about Jamaica is surprised by this?
The fact that the Chinese are alleged to have been forced to pay extortion money is not only shocking , it is criminal.
This is TRAFIGURA 2.0 on steroids.
It is important that even though the Dutch Company TRAFIGURA could not give money to a political party of a foreign country according to Dutch laws , it was done anyway and the PNP took that money.

Yes that money was returned, but only after the Dutch Government launched it’s own probe to determine whether TRAFIGURA had broken Dutch laws. To date no public official within the PNP has been held accountable for those crimes.
To date there has been no expose’ , no clarity, no resolution in a case which was clearly a criminal acceptance of money by the PNP from a foreign entity with which it was doing state business.
There was no ambiguity, it was graft. It was corruption. It was criminal. Yet like all of the other atrocious crimes committed by PNP functionaries ‚no one has been held accountable , no one has paid for those crimes.

It is instructive that the leader of the opposition feign ignorance of the specifics of the transactions even as her party is engulfed in the tsunami of charge and counter charge of graft-taking not from outside but from factions with her own party.
She may be ignorant in general but not about this issue.
If ever there was a need for a special prosecutor , this is it. We will not see a specially impaneled entity with prosecutorial powers however, there is no mileage to be extracted by Miller as she thought was available from the fraudulent Tivoli inquiry.

In the same breath that Miller feigns ignorance of the graft allegations she is highly critical of party members who have leaked the scandal to the public.
It is absolutely shocking yet totally understandable that this woman, who has built herself a career as defender of the poor, the same woman who presented a fraudulent financial disclosure to the country, would want to cover up this scandal.

Simpson Miller
Simpson Miller

Where is Portia Simpson-Miller’s sense of Nationalism, where is her sense of leadership, where is her sense of duty to our country over her loyalty to party?
Whether or not money was paid to specific highly placed PNP Ministers of the then Government and was not handed over to the party is hardly the issue here.
Even if the money was intended for the party , there is something radically wrong with a foreign entity giving money to any political party or the other.
In fact Chinese Authorities have stridently maintained that Chinese laws are sufficiently clear . That they expressly prohibit Chinese companies from donating to any foreign political parties.
Cash alters elections , large infusions of cash alters elections in fundamental ways. . If the cash was given as bribes, then it is far worse far more complex. On the face of it it is criminal for Government officials to accept bribes ‚period. To accept bribes from foreign agents is far more consequential.

It is important now, that the present Government take the necessary steps to convene an appropriate investigation into what transpired, . It cannot be left up to the inept police and the show-boating Director of Public Prosecution.
It cannot be left up to Simpson Miller’s so-called integrity commission to figure this one out.
It cannot be left up to a special fox to make sure that the other foxes do not eat the chicken. It cannot be that these public servants break the laws with such daring and brazen disregard and not be held accountable.
The present Government can no more talk about corruption and criminal collusion in politics if it fail to act , it is no longer in opposition , it has the power to act and it must act.

By Their Fruits You Shall Know Them:Black Pastors Sell-out To Donald Trump, All Part Of New Prosperity Gospel…

mike

It’s election campaign season in the United States and the talk about immigration as a campaign issue seem to only be on the political right.
The Democratic nominee for President Hillary Clinton has thus far remained quite on the issue and correctly so in my estimation.

Apostates in support of Trump... Rev. Darrell Scott, senior pastor of the New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights
Apostates in support of Trump…
Rev. Darrell Scott, senior pastor of the New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights, one of the leaders of the group of sell-out coons who would march blacks back into slavery for a chance to rub shoulders with “massa”

On Wednesday the Republican nominee for president Donald Trump headed to Mexico to gain credibility with white suburban voters who are not supporting his candidacy.
This is part of a desperate strategy of flailing away at certain groups in ways which are condescending and disrespectful even as he claim to want their vote.
( You’re living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?”)
Just the type of condescending shit one needs when considering who to vote for. Well let me not be hasty, many blacks have actually swallowed these overtures at the same time they swallowed their dignity, pride and self-worth.
It’s important to note that the fish whom have most discernibly swallowed Trump vile words, dripping with perdition, are the impostors who fleece the gullible and the vulnerable in the Black churches on Sunday mornings.
Isn’t it remarkable how game recognizes game?
One con-man recognizing the con-game of the black apostates who prostitute and pimp the word of God on the altar of financial gain and worldly prosperity.

James Davis pastor in Ohio, Another of the coons who would sell the black community back into slavery all for a chance to sit at a table with Donald Trump.
James Davis pastor in Ohio,
Another of the coons who would sell the black community back into slavery, all for a chance to sit at a table with Donald Trump.

Lets get something straight which the main stream media will not tell you, Donald Trump has not gone to Mexico because he cares about Mexicans.

(“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”)..

Trump sees people of color the same way his white uneducated, so-called middle class blue collar people does.
His response to police violence against people of color is the same as theirs .

South Carolina pastor Rev. Mark Burns. The top coon Trump tapped to pull the wool over the unsuspecting eyes of gullible black congregants..
South Carolina pastor Rev. Mark Burns.
The top coon Trump tapped to pull the wool over the unsuspecting eyes of gullible black congregants..

Much of his support comes from the nether reaches of the most Nativist realm.
His record dealing with black and brown people is unequivocal in it’s disdain .
He cannot hide from it , that is why it’s important to understand that his supporters and black and brown people could never exist in the same space.

The primary argument of the black-bird-brained sellouts is that Donald Trump told them at his Trump tower meeting that he intends to empower the black community by rebuilding inner cities.
Okay, so there is so much we can talk about when someone makes such a vague statement .
In the first instance the vast majority of successful black people do not live in inner city ghettos . The massive housing projects which house so many poor inner city residents are reservations of a different name.

The Church Lady Exclusive: Did. Dr. Michael Freeman Orchestrate the Ousting of Pastor Joel Peebles from Jericho City of Praise?

Blacks hardly own these public houses, in many cases the term urban renewal coming from white people, particularly someone with a background in real estate and con like Donald Trump means gentrification.
In which case they will be worse off than when the urban renewal started.
Ask the black people who lived in downtown Brooklyn and parts of Harlem how those renewals worked out for them.
Don’t get me wrong it is great when cities are revived, but in the context of poor blacks it is cold comfort when they cannot afford a place to live.

Trumps economic policy, if one does exist, is no different than that of Reagan, Bush, and Bush. It is simply tax cuts for the richest people and a wish that some of their crumbs will fall from their tables to feed the rest of us.
Secondly the concept that Trump will be able to bring jobs back into the country is the biggest lie of all.
Trump himself makes his tacky ties and shirts in Asia and literally everything else in which he has a fiduciary interest.

If these black-skinned sellouts want to be taken seriously they must encourage Trump not to talk the talk but walk the walk. Lets see Donald Trump return those manufacturing jobs to the country first.
It is important to note that even as these sellouts do their darnedest to sell their gullible congregations back into slavery , one of Donald Trump’s most strident supporter New Jersey’s republican governor Chris Christie just vetoed a bill which would have seen the minimum wage in that state increased from $8 to $15 by 2021.
That increase would have been over a five year period.… and he vetoed it !!!!

trumps coons

Those people who continue to believe that Trump or anyone else for that matter will return jobs which have gone overseas are more stupid that we thought, they probably deserve a president Trump.
Producing goods at American minimum wage would see prices go up exponentially for those products. It would men smaller profits for companies which manufacture their goods overseas and that is not about to happen.
American consumers could not afford to purchase these goods which would mean massive contraction of the American economy and massive job loss in the end.
And thats just the beginning of the downside of such a move in the global space in which we now operate.

Every American President since Ronald Reagan except Barack Obasma has tried to further enrich the richest among us, it would be a major departure for a self-styled billionaire to betray his financial class by getting them to cut their profits and return production to America on the one hand while his own policy wants to give them more tax-cuts and breaks to keep more of their money.
Donald J Trump is no Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

As the website thinkprogress.com sees it .
In its simplest form, the prosperity gospel is an American Christian movement that teaches followers they can become rich though the art of positive thinking — and, more importantly, cutting large checks to their church and pastor. The controversial theology has long been criticized by progressive and conservative Christian leaders alike, especially the spending habits it encourages among ministers who uphold it, such as when Creflo Dollar (his actual name) of College Park, Georgia, asked his constituents to help him buy a private jet.

The Bible did say each and every christian will have to work out their own salvation. Left to these money grubbing apostates we will be back into slavery in no time.

Philippines President Slams US For ‘killing Black People’

President Rodrigo Duterte has repeatedly and publicly criticized the United States, specifically on the killing of unarmed black people by police.

During a press conference on Sunday, Duterte suggested that his country should “separate from the United Nations,” because the U.N. “could not control America” or Russia and because the international body could not stop the killing of people in places like Syria.

Why are you Americans killing black people there, shooting them down when they are already on the ground? Answer that question,” he demanded. “Because even if it’s only one or two or three it’s still human rights violation, goddamn – you tell that to that American there.”

The press conference took place after two United Nations human rights experts criticized Duterte for his hardline drug campaign in which hundreds of people have died in extrajudicial killings of drug suspects since he was elected last May.

Mark Toner, a State Department spokesman, said that Duterte was known as a “plain speaking” politicians but said that “with regard to us looking or turning a blind eye to human rights abuses or possible human rights abuses in the Philippines, I can assure you that that’s not the case.” http://thegrio.com/2016/08/27/philippines-president-slams-us-for-killing-black-people/

Harriet Tubman allegedly carried a pistol , she was also quoted as saying she freed several thousand blacks and she could have free thousands more if only they knew they were slaves.
That was a profound statement made during the days of slavery . It is a profound statement today.

Blacks Have Everything To Lose Under A Trump Presidency As Does Most Everyone Else.….

I recently wrote about Donald Trump’s candidacy and the ludicrous notion that Trump wants to serve the African American community. Even more galling is the idea that any self respecting black would sit across a table to share a discussion with this bigoted buffoon.
More than once Donald Trump was cited for refusing to rent to blacks and Latino tenants. Donald Trump has lent legitimacy to myriad white supremacy groups across the country.
I do not wish to re-litigate the 70 years history of Trumps legacy of racism and bigotry against African Americans, which includes but is not confined to the Central Park five who were jailed for crimes they did not commit. In that case Donald J Trump spent $85 ‚000 on newspaper ads against the four young black men and one Hispanic, in which he called for the death penalty for them.
The accused were mere 14 and 15 year old boys at the time.

Donald Trump cannot hide from his lifetime of bigotry and hatred, including his birther campaign which sought to de-legitimize the first African American President.
So why is Donald Trump trying to make it seem he is making a legitimate outreach for African American and Latino votes?
The fact is he is not.
Donald Trump is certainly not trying to cater to Black or Latino voters. Donald Trump’s campaign is about Nationalism, Nativism , the Brexit movement ‚and a return to white supremacy. In fact the leader of the Brexit movement Nigel Farage campaigned with Trump in Mississippi on Wednesday.

Neither Trump nor his campaign are looking to re-brand, what Steven Bannon and other Trump handlers are doing is typical of a campaign in free-fall . They realizes it is losing even worse than Mitt Romney was. Even if you set aside the National polls, which some republicans will tell does not mean much, unless when they are leading, they realize he is losing white educated women, a group Mitt Romney won.
It’s hard to see a path to 270 electoral votes in the electoral college for Donald Trump in light of the present trajectory of the poll numbers. Never mind national polls it’s the battleground states that matter, and Hillary Clinton is cleaning his clock.

The new Trump strategy is designed to make Trump seem palatable to this group of voters who may feel somewhat queasy about supporting someone who has shown outright bigotry and racism. The new management team is hoping that even if these moderate republican educate voters are not in love with their candidate they will effectively hold their nose and vote for him.
In order to make that happen Trump needs a few black and brown props to finish the charade, so on Thursday he had a meeting at Trump Tower with some black and Latino people who had no problem being props for what Donald Trump wants to accomplish.

Trump meets with blacks

The numbers are going up with the African-American community rapidly,” Trump said at a round table meeting with black and Latino activists in New York. “I’ve always had great relationships with the African-American community. I’ve made it such a focal point.
Okay , I guess when you begin with zero a supposed 1% blimp on the radar is something to crow about. Notwithstanding Donald Trump would have to erase decades of democratic support and affiliation in just over 60 days to get to where Mitt Romney was in his losing bid for the presidency, a fact which cannot be lost on the Trump people.
Those who allowed themselves to be used as Props on Thursday may have gotten all they are going to get in this photo-opp .

You cannot purport to care about chickens so to save chickens you place them in the Fox Pen.
How does black voters fit into the same spaces in which Trump’s supporters exist? Black people have been beaten and kicked out of Trump rallies, with his urging.
’ ”Get them outta he , I love the old days, in the old days they would be taken them outta her on stretchers’ ” Trump jeers.
He admonishes and excoriate “Black Lives Matter activists.
He speaks about inner cities as war zones to be brought under control through police empowerment.
How does the litany of white Nationalists groups which have pledged support for Trump exist with their arch enemy black people,.
They simply don’t!

These are not the words and actions of a candidate seeking to bring African-Americans into the party . Even if there is some degree of truth to some of the statements Trump makes, he is absolutely not the candidate to bring those arguments to the fore.
I have no problem with some melanin props acting against the interest of the black community. They have a right to be props to a bigoted demagogue . It must be understood that they do not speak for the black community, they are with Trump for their own self interest.
Harriet Tubman must be turning in her grave, saying I always knew it.….….….….

Blacks Have Everything To Lose Under A Trump Presidency As Does Most Everyone Else.….

The foregone was the lead-in of Republican nominee for President Donald J Trump.
Trump was speaking at black voters from Dimondale, Michigan — a predominantly white suburb of Lansing.

Lets set aside the gall and temerity of this media created buffoon for a second, lets take a breath and rebut what this moron has been peddling.
In the process I will borrow something my wife wrote in response to this bit of Republican dog whistle to their infantile base.

Blacks are living in racism, not poverty..26% of Blacks are in poverty, so 74% aren’t in poverty. 18.7% of Black youth between the ages of 16 and 19 are unemployed (probably because they are in school!). Black women are the most highly educated group of folks in the U.S. Black people-even though living through racism (direct and indirect), eugenics, the intentional ghetto-ization of our Black neighborhoods by the infiltration of drugs, over policing, and denial of resources…we still rise!!! We are incredible!!! Trump and those who support him can continue to send out their dog whistles to their base (white supremacy groups and others who are threatened by the changing face of America from white to brown), but hopefully Black people won’t listen to Trump trying to convince us that we are worthless, and have nothing to lose! The problem is systematic racism; not the Democrats!
Hum hum.….….……

Donald Trump had ample opportunities to build a relationship with black voters if he wanted to . The Black community though not politically monolithic, is quite capable of understanding when it is being disrespected.
Appointing a few religious hustlers or some reality show sell-out to speak for, or on behalf of the black community, does not cut it for blacks anymore.

The fact of the matter is that the Black community vote Democratic because the Republican party has been openly hostile to the black community for the decades since Lyndon Johnson signed the 1968 civil Rights act into law.
As Malcolm X said “we did not land on Plymouth Rock , Plymouth rock landed on us”. Blacks did not desert the Republican Party, the Republican Party deserted Blacks.
Why did Republican Presidential candidate Richard Nixon not offer a hand to spring Republican Dr Martin Luther King out of jail?
Politically expedient it was yes, but John F Kennedy did .…King was sprung from jail and black people took note. Lyndon Johnson went further and signed the single most important piece of legislation since the Emancipation proclamation and Blacks really took notice.
Whites abandoned the Democratic party in droves and the die was cast.
And no please do not talk to me about the party which freed the slaves. If it wasn’t expedient for Lincoln he would not have freed the slaves , but that’s a separate conversation for another day.

Lyndon Johnson knew that he would lose the south when he signed the civil rights bill into law, he did it anyway .
To date Democrats still cannot win the south. Southern states vote straight red.
The question is this.
What is it about Blacks having their God given right to dignity and self determination that so offend Republicans ?

Trump is following in a long line of Republican presidential hopefuls who have disrespected Black Americans and fine-tuned the art of disrespect of the community into a rallying cry and a white vote-getting part of their campaigns.
From Nixon to Reagan and even Herbert Walker Bush, not to mention the long list of failed “also ‑rans”>

DONALD TRUMP

Donald Trump has a history of disdain and hatred of Black Americans, no one forgets Trump’s full page ad, demanding the death penalty for four black youths and one Hispanic who were arrested and eventually convicted for assaulting and raping a jogger in central park in 1989. The young men spent over 12 years in jail before a serial rapist confessed to the crime .

Trump spent upward of $85,000 in media advertising between the New York Times , the Daily News, New York News Day and of course the New York Post.
In his diatribe against the young men,Donald Trump said quote ”I want to hate these muggers and murderers,” Mr. Trump wrote. ”They should be forced to suffer and, when they kill, they should be executed for their crimes.
The young men were 14 and 15 years of age at the time Donald J Trump wanted them lynched, it never occurred to him that they may have been innocent as they most certainly were.
The Donald Trump of today still refer to Mexicans as rapists and murderers. It’s his modus operandi, demeaning people he believes are beneath him, or with whom he disagrees.

The central park 5 , now.
The central park 5 , now.

The Mayor of NYC Ed Koch said then, ”We must not confuse tough punishment with hatred,” Mr. Koch responded in a statement read by an assistant press secretary, Larry Simonberg. ”I think he’s on the wrong track. He has a right to express his opinion. He’s expressing hatred and I’m expressing anger. There’s a big difference. Nytimes.com
Donald Trump is yet to apologize to the young men . Many people believed Trump’s racist ads poisoned the jury pool resulting in the guilty verdicts. Additionally critical exculpatory evidence was kept from lawyers defending the teens.
Almost 13 years of their lives wasted away because of a hateful , vengeful and ignorant demagogue.

Donald Trump has not changed a thing about his attitude toward Blacks. With increasing incidents of Black men and women being murdered by police , Donald Trump took the decision to state his unequivocal support for police, without speaking to the rampant unjust and illegal killings by police.

In other words Donald Trump wants police to continue doing exactly what they are doing . In fact Trump has stated that he wants police to have military weapons to bring inner city residents under control.
He has reoriented his political campaign branding himself the law-and-order candidate.
On Friday August 5th Hillary Clinton addressed a joint convention of black and Hispanic journalists, Donald J Trump who was invited to attend decided to skip the event. So too did he skip an invite from the NAACP and several other traditional Black organizations.
They were not worthy of his time.
How exactly does Donald Trump now pretend to want the Black vote?
Or does he?
Is Donald Trump merely using black voters to appear more reasonable to white educated suburban Republican voters?

Protesters line up to protest police killing Michael Brown in Ferguson Missouri.
Protesters line up to protest police killing Michael Brown in Ferguson Missouri.

Joe Watkins a Republican who served under President George W Bush said Trump will not attract African America votes by telling blacks they have nowhere to go so they should vote for him. Watkins chided Trump for refusing to deal with the issue of African American men and women losing their lives at the hands of the police.
Watkins went on to say that Trump has missed opportunity after opportunity including meeting with Mark Morreale of the National Urban League,The NAACP the Black and Hispanic Journalists and other groups.
It’s great to see Watkins coming to his senses.
Donald J Trump does not give a rats ass about the Black vote , he is losing and losing badly , that includes the educated moderate republicans he need if he is to have a chance of winning.
That’s not happening , he is desperate and his rhetoric will only get more disjointed as election day draws closer.

police response to non-voilent protesters
police response to non-voilent protesters

Donald Trump’s response to the unprecedented amounts of blacks killed by police each year is to call for more draconian and tougher measures against inner city residents. Trump wants militarized police occupying American cities with the heels of their jackboots on the necks of black Americans.
That’s Donald Trumps idea of making America great again . The problem is that Donald Trump does not have enough angry, racist , xenophobic, misogynist, whites to get him into the white house.
He is asking Blacks to contribute to their own extinction, at least in this country.

People are less inclined to be swayed by what others say and more about what they do. Even as Trump tries to mine black votes using crude entreaties ‚what is telling about who he is, is the company he keeps.
Rudolph Giuliani the former Republican Mayor of New York city whose career as mayor impressed only some white new Yorkers and police. Giuliani divided up the city pitting one race against the other and using the police as his private army.

Giuliani

Newt Gingrich former Republican speaker of the house and long time race-baiter. Stephen Bannon, the former Breitbart news executive chairman is now his campaign ceo. Breitbart news is something of a far right, of the far right, as it relates to Republican talking points rather than a credible news entity.
These are only a few of the people Donald Trump has surrounded himself with, not exactly people who have the interest of Blacks at heart.

Even as Trump raises the rent for offices in Trump Towers, that his campaign rents from himself, so too has Trumps Presidential run been about raising his profile for his own gain.
Either way he will come out a winner , the political process will forever be scarred for Donald Trump’s candidacy.

Trump’s Campaign A Desperate Sinking Ship.…

10557160_10202661560199862_8859088500811921966_n

The new story from the Trump campaign is that the candidate will be looking to get black voters to respond to his campaign .
The narrative coming from the new phalanx of black surrogates, most of whom have the prefix Rev before their names, other than Ben Carson, is that Democrats have taken advantage of Blacks and Trump deserves a chance.
Fair enough!!!
However Trump is polling at 1% among Blacks.
Mitt Romney got 6%.
John McCain got 4%.
How much will Trump be able to cut into Hillary’s lead becomes the question?
What I find perplexing is that even as Trump and his surrogates make these claims that Democrats do not honor the votes of Blacks Trump steadfastly refuses to stand with the families of Blacks murdered by police, while giving his undying support to police.
He actually claim he is the law and order candidate.
Trump refused an invitation to speak at a recent assembly of the NAACP , Hillary Clinton attended and addressed that conference.
Trump went to detroit to supposedly to address the black community but went to an all white audience while speaking at Black people.
Donald Trump addresses African-Americans usually with the word “the” before the by-word.
What is shocking in all of this is that these stool pigeons with black skin allow themselves to be used as props and tools of a desperate campaign which is taking on water fast.

Nativism Disguised As Patriotism.…

10557160_10202661560199862_8859088500811921966_n
The World looks on as America grapples with the Frankenstein it created, yet from all indications has no ability to control or even to predict what it is capable of ..

How did we get to a place where the Republican candidate for president is so toxic that even the Republican Governor of the state of Ohio , the state which hosted the republican convention did not attend the convention?
It is a legitimate question because it may explain the reason neither of the former living republican presidents , both named Bush, attended either.
The list of Republicans jumping the Trump ship is astounding .
On Monday August 1st, lifelong Republican Sally Bradshaw , former Chief of Staff to Former Florida Jeb Bush decided she will be voting for Democrat Hillary Clinton in a close Florida contest . It must be also noted that her former boss Jeb Bush stated that he will not vote for Trump , neither will he vote for Clinton.
As if that was not enough, Donald Trump’s childish response to gold star parents Khizr and Ghazala Khan’s statements at the DNC on Monday drew sharp repudiation from former Vietnam POW and Arizona Republican senator John McCain a former presidential candidate himself.
Another big name Republican to distance herself from Trump is Mary Matlin former George W Bush adviser, and wife to democratic operative James Carville.

Each American has a single vote to cast, so in the greater scheme of things an individual refusing to vote for Trump may not determine whether or not Trump gets elected the 45th president of the United States .
However ‚when prominent republican operatives and elected officials decide to leave the party or sit out the elections it speaks volumes about the quality of the nominee of that party.

SO HOW DID THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND THE COUNTRY ARRIVE HERE?

Lets first establish that a Trump Presidency would have disastrous consequences, not just for America but for the entire world.
Since the start of the republican primaries Donald Trump has said and done things which would have doomed any other candidate. It is important to note that Trump decimated 16 other candidates whom many considered imminently qualified to be president of the United States.

Donald Trump has had one political faux-pas after another ‚yet nothing seem to shake the solid wall of support Trump has. We will come back to that.
On Sunday July 31st Donald Trump told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not invade The Ukraine . The problem with that assertion is that Russia has already invaded Ukraine.
There are some who believe there is some sort of conspiracy between Donald Trump and the Russian leader. The idea behind that thinking is that Donald J Trump is a Manchurian candidate being supported by the Russians to do Putin’s bidding after he is elected to the presidency .
I did not believe Barack Hussein Obama was a Kenyan Muslim Manchurian candidate who wanted to destroy America , I do not believe Donald Trump is either.

I believe Donald Trump simply has no idea what he is talking about.
Trump had no idea what Brexit was . He did not know what the nuclear triad was . Trump had no idea that Russia was already in Ukraine.
Evidence of this is that Trump has began to criticize the format and dates of the presidential debates because he knows fundamentally that his bluster will not cut it in an one-on-one debate with Hillary Clinton. Not only that he lied that the National Football League has written to him criticizing the decision to have the debates on dates that NFL games are scheduled.
The NFL has pushed back saying they have written no such letter to Trump. For the record the debate schedule is arrived at by a non-partisan group which has not allegiance to either Clinton or Trump.
Trump is not only proving to be a bloviating narcissistic bully he is revealing an even darker pathological side which must scare well meaning people.
The fact is that Donald Trump behind the bluster and bravado is no fool but a candidate for president who never bothered to learn the things of the world outside business.
Trump knows his weakness and he intends to bluster and bully his way until he is stopped. Thus far no one has stepped up to the school-yard bully and punch him in the nose.

635933927433505951-Trump-thumb

Donald J Trump is not only dangerous because of his thin berth of policy knowledge. He has no idea of the value of the Nato Alliance to peace. He is dangerous because as it relates to foreign policy Donald J Trump is a total dunce.
A dumb president is a president who can, and will be manipulated by those behind the throne.
What’s remarkable is that none of what Trump does will dissuade a single voter who follow and stand faithfully at airport hangers as he arrives like a president in his own version of air force one, his name gharishly emblazoned as an indication of his success.. Those voters do not care about anything Trump says . He says what they want to say .
In fact I believe most of them have no idea what Trump stand for. What they care about is that Trump say he will poke his finger into the eye of the people they do not like. And he will build a wall to keep out those people and let Mexico pay for it.
Much of the so-called angst has been well stirred up and enhanced by Tea-party right wing nativist who blame everyone for their problems.
Not even establishment republicans have been spared. Governors , Senators and business people were summarily dispatched by those voters during the republican primaries and caucuses.

WHY IS THAT ?

For the over eight years that Barack Hussein Obama announced his candidacy for the presidency , AM talk radio and FOX has beaten the drums of racial hatred and misinformation on a twenty four hour continuüm.
These Trump voters, mostly white non-college educated are baked in, they are not going to vote for a democratic woman and they certainly not about to vote for Hillary Clinton.
Since Obama’s candidacy we have seen the emergence of the Tea-party nativist wing of the republican party which has literally gobbled up and destroyed respected republican leaders who worked across party lines to get things done.
Those people wanted no compromise , they wanted total gridlock in Washington . The likes of Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are part of that block of US Senators and Congressmen who went to Washington to gum up the works.
It is remarkable that many of these very same people who claim they need blue collar jobs voted to elect these political anarchists to office. These are the elected Republican representatives who would not pass a construction bill which would have put many of them back to work. The reality is that they did not want roads bridges and tunnels built and repaired by Barack Obama the black Democratic president.
They started with by removing republicans like Pennsylvanian Senator Arlen Specter. Former Indiana senator Richard Lugar. Virginia representative and house majority leader Eric Cantor. and several others, all of whom fell to challenges from their right.
The idea was to nullify Obama’s presidency by not allowing any legislative accomplishment under his presidency. Mitch McConnell alluded to that , saying his number one objective was to make Obama a one term president. On that Mitch McConnell the senate majority leader failed at his one goal.
According to the southern poverty law center https://www.splcenter.org/ a group which tracks hate groups , there has been a significant increase in hate groups since Barack Obama’s ascendancy to the presidency. This is another metric of the poisonous rhetoric which has been fed to that part of the population for eight years non stop.

About This So Called Blue Collar Anger…

BAKED IN
Donald Trump’s support is literally baked in, the support he enjoys did not come from anything Trump accomplished . It came from years of anti-Obama rhetoric. Donald Trump is merely a megaphone for the so-called white blue-collar workers. These are the very same people who see a black family in the white house, they saw a black man heading the justice department only to be replaced by a black woman. They see a black man as head of homeland security. They see their neighborhoods gas stations and corner stores all run by people of color with funny sounding names and even funnier accents.

They are not all bad people, they are not all racist people. Many of these people are no different than you and me, but everything they once knew has changed and continue to change. They are frightened.
It would be simplistic to suggest that they are simply rednecks who refuse to change. Some are , but in my estimation the biggest factor affecting this demographic is a changing economy they do not understand.
In the article featured above I spoke to some of the accomplishments of President Barack Obama.
The stock market is in record territory. The Auto industry better than it has ever been. Over ten Million jobs created. The list of Obama’s accomplishments are commendable. Especially for a presidency which had to do with unprecedented obstructionism from the republican congress. That obstruction extended even to state-houses where Republican Governors refused to allow ordinary citizens basic health care.
The question now in light of Hillary Clinton’s convention bump which places her ahead of Donald Trump in national polls , is whether there are enough of those angry white no-college educated to give a carnival barker the highest office on the planet and the nuclear codes to boot?

About This So Called Blue Collar Anger…

10557160_10202661560199862_8859088500811921966_n

Truth be told as the two political conventions came to a close last night the difference in tone and optics were as stark as night and day.
If you are a middle American steel worker, or factor worker who cannot find a job, the message coming out of the Republican gloom-fest is just what you want to hear.
If you believe Immigrants are boogeymen, that President Obama is a Manchurian president, (who isn’t a real president) planted to destroy America. If you believe Obama is doing nothing about defeating ISIL. And if you believe the millions of jobs created under Obama’s Presidency did not happen, then I can see how Donald J Trump is an attractive candidate to you.

It’s quite easy to suspend reality if one is predisposed to believing the likes of serial philanderer Newt Gingrich and Race-baiting Rudolph Giuliani, a former Presidential candidate who failed to win a single delegate are credible voices on where America should go.

Look-we can continue to beat this drum of insanity, suspending common sense when we continue to say the same stupid old things cycle after cycle expecting that repeating a lie enough changes it to truth.
John McCain said it best in 2008, speaking to those so-called rust belt voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio: The jobs aren’t coming back.

DPCCPrivateSectorPayroll070215

No one was born a steel-worker, no one was born a factor worker. As I have said repeatedly- cows do not eat and wait for the grass to regrow so they may eat again; they keep moving. No one was born a steel-worker.
Lets be real, under Barack Obama 12.8 million jobs were created; that is not only fantastic, it must be viewed in specific contexts.
This happened after the worst recession since the great Depression . It happened against Republican blanket obstructionism. It happened while many jobs which people took for granted traditionally dissapeared from the economy; not only because of globalization but because of advances in technology.

Millions of jobs gone, ♦Toll collectors ♦Bank tellers♦ Librarians ♦ Supermarket check-out clerks♦ Lithographers♦ Store Clerks♦ We could go on and on about the millions of jobs which have dissapeared because of technology. When you add the jobs outsourced based on labor costs , you begin to get a better picture why Wall street is doing just fine while Main Street isn’t.
This is the other side of opening up to the global marketplace. Yes we may be able to sell more goods per-se , but there are far more workers competing for less jobs, that drives down labor costs.
Making America great again is an unattainable mirage; much like Reagan’s shining city on a hill was.

Being angry, hateful and mad is a not a strategy for survival. Demagoguery, stereotyping , finger pointing, and hatred is never a strategy for survival. Adaptability is.
When people cannot find jobs they cannot feed their families and that is heart breaking . It can reasonably be said that in Silicone Valley there is hardly a shortage of opportunities.
According to indeed.com The Silicon Valley, CA job market is strong compared to the rest of the US. Over the last year, job postings in Silicon Valley, CA have increased by 10% relative to a national decline of 32%.
Those facts speaks exactly to the need for retraining and a different mindset about employment.

Before the American West was won pioneering prospectors set out in covered wagons pushing ever more westward . Many had high hopes of striking it rich as prospectors of Gold and other precious metals.
Some did find gold and other precious metals, the vast majority did not.
Travelling with those enterprising prospectors were people who sold shovels and pick-axes. People who shined shoes and others who repaired the hooves of horses.
All across the heartland and further west small one hoss towns emerged .

Republican Convention Floor Erupts Into Chaos Amid Push For Roll Call Vote

The floor of the Republican National Convention erupted into chaos Monday amid an attempt by the Never Trump forces to change the rules of the event. With delegates erupting into dueling chants of “roll call vote” and “USA” on the floor, the chair has just forced a voice vote on the rules and they passed. Each group shouted “aye” or “nay” and the chair selected what he thought was the loudest group. This is despite anti-Trump efforts saying they had signatures to have a state-by-state roll call vote on the rules. Delegates Unbound, which was hoping to let GOP delegates vote for whomever they choose, said today they have the support necessary to force a roll call vote on the rules package. This would have been a minor, incremental step towards unbinding pledged delegates who are committed to voting for Donald Trump but would like to vote for another candidate. If this had step succeeded, delegates on the floor would have needed to reject the entire rules package passed by a rules committee earlier today, sending it back to the committee for reconsideration.

The up-or-down vote on the rules package coming late this afternoon is traditionally handled by voice only. “Despite every obstacle thrown in our way, the movement of all the stakeholders involved in this effort have gained a majority of the delegates in 10 states,” Delegates Unbound co-founder M. Dane Waters said in a statement today. “Now we take this fight to the floor.” According to Rule 39, a roll call vote may be called if a majority of at least seven states demands a vote on the floor.

Minister Of National Security Seemingly Opening His Eyes To Valuable Strategies Not Being Debated In The Island’s Fight Against Crime And Violence..

As a pragmatist I am not one to celebrate announcements, I’ve inclined to asses hard evidence of action. It is with that mindset that I am reluctant to take comfort in the words of minister of national security Robert Montague in his address to the parlaiment that the Government “will not shirk” in the war against lawlessness.

Robert Montague
Robert Montague

Let me be very clear, this minister and the ministry he leads are not afraid of the forces of lawlessness and the criminal kingpins in this country,” Montague told the House of Representatives in his presentation in the current Sectoral Debate. “We will not shirk in this war against those who would challenge the authority of the State and bring untold terror to the people. We have a duty to protect all citizens of this country and every visitor or investor who steps on our shores,”

This is not the extent of Minister Montague’s statements but I will abstain from dwelling in, or elevating blah blah .…
What I find interesting is that as crime and violence increases the Political opposition is deafeningly silent.
Do I understand the potential mileage that the opposition can leverage if the administration fails in this or any other area?
Of course!
Yet I am appalled that politics could trump a cohesive coming together of both political parties on this critical issue. I believe both Laborites and Comrades are dying, on that alone I question at what stage will the leader of the political opposition or anyone on that side of the isle speak out against the pervasive crime and violence which is tearing the Island apart.
After going through the blah blah blah pronouncements the minister made I found something with which I could associate myself .

This medium and this humble blogger has consistently made these points for years. Unfortunately my calls have fallen on the willful deaf ears of the past administration.
Thankfully this administration has allowed itself the common sense to listen to voices which are not only coming from the political talking heads on the Island or the self-aggrandizing elites who wishes to impose their ill-informed way of thinking on an entire nation.
With that said, recognizing these points we have raised here this medium will now expect concrete and substantive action in making them a reality.….
We will now await both the howls of condemnation on these critical pointers, as well as the diarrhea of objections from the Monday morning quarterbacks and the village lawyers.

FBI Recommends No Charges For Hillary Clinton In Email Server Case

Hillary Clinton and her staff were “extremely careless” in handling classified data over a private email server while she was secretary of state, FBI Director James Comey said Tuesday — but the FBI is recommending that no charges be brought against her. Comey said his agency found more than a hundred emails contained information that was classified at the time they were sent and received — emails which should not have been on “any kind of unclassified system,” Comey said. He also said the FBI considered it possible that Clinton’s email domain had been hacked by a “hostile actor.”

Clinton’s use of a personal email account and private server to conduct official business has already been criticized by the State Department’s independent watchdog group as a violation of department policy.

The FBI spent months investigating whether the presumptive Democratic nominee intentionally or negligently mishandled classified information on her personal email account and private server.

Clinton has said that she never used her personal email to send information that was marked classified at the time, although some of her emails had been retroactively classified.

Comey says that’s not true. Of 30,000 emails Clinton turned over to the State Department in 2014, FBI investigators found 110 emails containing information that was classified at the time the email was sent. Eight of those were top secret, the highest level of classification. Those emails should never have been sent on any kind of unclassified system, Comey said. He further pointed out that Clinton’s personal email set-up involved no full-time security staff — like she would have benefited from if she had been on a government system, or even just on Google’s Gmail service.

Another 2,000 emails have been retroactively classified since they were sent, Comey said.

And by poring over email fragments on servers and accessing the email archives of government employees, investigators also found several thousand work-related emails that were not included in the 30,000 emails Clinton released to the State Department in 2014. Three of those newly-discovered emails contained classified information.

But, Comey said, the FBI did not find any indication that those emails had been intentionally concealed from investigators.

Our assessment is that, like many email users, Secretary Clinton periodically deleted emails or emails were purged from the system when devices were changed,” Comey said. “Because she was not using a government account — or even a commercial account like Gmail — there was no archiving at all of her emails, so it is not surprising that we discovered emails that were not on Secretary Clinton’s system in 2014, when she produced the 30,000 e‑mails to the State Department.”

Indeed, he noted that it was likely there were even more work-related emails that Clinton’s lawyers had missed in 2014, and the FBI could not find on servers or other email archives. Those emails would be “gone” now, because of the way Clinton’s lawyers “cleaned their devices,” Comey said. But he noted that the FBI did not find any evidence of intentional misconduct by Clinton’s lawyers.

Comey also said that, while the FBI found no direct evidence that Clinton’s email was hacked by a foreign party, “it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal email account.”

Cyberattacks on Clinton’s email would be so sophisticated that investigators wouldn’t be likely to see traces of them, Comey said. And since Clinton frequently used her private email while traveling “in the territory of sophisticated adversaries,” as Comey put it, the FBI views it as possible that her account was compromised.

Investigators did find evidence that “hostile actors gained access to the private commercial e‑mail accounts of people with whom Secretary Clinton was in regular contact from her personal account,” he said.

Comey had harsh words for the carelessness on display by Clinton, her staff and the State Department in general.

But, he said, “although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.” In “similar circumstances,” someone might face security or administrative sanctions, he said, but not criminal charges. As a result, the FBI is recommending to Justice Department prosecutors that no charges be brought against Clinton. That outcome is not unusual, as NPR’s Carrie Johnson has reported: Top officials rarely face criminal prosecution for violating laws on classified information. But Tuesday’s press conference was out of the ordinary in another way.

FBI recommendations to prosecutors aren’t usually released to the public, as Comey said, but this case has been subject to an extraordinary level of scrutiny. The FBI announcement — which, Comey said, had not been coördinated with or preapproved by the Justice Department — comes less than a week after a controversial unscheduled meeting between U.S. attorney general Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton. Lynch said the meeting was innocuous, and didn’t include any conversations about the investigation into Hillary Clinton. But after bipartisan furor over the encounter, Lynch announced she would be accepting the recommendations of career prosecutors and the FBI in the case.  http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/07/05/484785586/fbi-recommends-no-charges-for-hillary-clinton-in-email-server-case

I waited for it wondering when it was going to come, I knew as night follows day it was just a matter of time before some brave-heart steps to the fore and demand the head of Commissioner Carl Williams on a platter.
And then it happened, July fourth I awoke in a little hotel room in South Carolina, checked the Jamaican papers as I always do most mornings. This morning I had more time on my hands , Aaah the fourth of July , no work for me I closed the little patty shop and took the family on a Southern Road trip culminating in the Palmetto state.

The Observer Article was unmistakeably clear Take action or go, senator tells police chief .
Government senator Charles Sinclair , a former Montego Bay mayor, in a statement yesterday, said “It is becoming clearer by the day that the commissioner of police is out of his depth” as he has misinterpreted the proposal for a state of emergency to help reduce crime in St James.“For him to have interpreted the proposal to cauterize the runaway murder rate with a state of emergency to mean it being the panacea to fix the problem is disingenuous to say the least.”

Police commissioner Dr Carl Williams
Police commissioner Dr Carl Williams

Okay there you have it, that response came after the Commissioner of Police Doctor Carl Williams was reported to have rejected the idea of a limited state of emergency as a response to the spate of killings in Montego Bay and it’s environs. Commissioner Williams is reported to have said that a state of emergency is not a panacea to the crime situation there, as the problem is social.
The Commissioner correctly asked, after the state of Emergency , then what?
If I want to go shoot someone or rob a business-place but I learned that the streets are flooded with cops , I believe I would stay put until they leave.
A state of emergency is a band-aid approach which does nothing to sustainably eliminate crime, it tamps it down for the duration of the exercise until the security officers leave.
The cost benefit analysis weighs heavily in not having one, primarily because it is in-sustainable and probably does more harm than good.
They end up traumatizing residents when their movements are curtailed and their privacy invaded. This inevitably has the opposite effect and further alienates the police from the communities they serve.

CRIME WILL GO DOWN THIS YEAR.….……really?

Let me first say that I have had my share of criticisms of Commissioner Williams, who by the way is the most qualified Commissioner of Police anywhere in the western Hemisphere . I have from time to time said he can accomplish much more with what he has if he does a better job of making sure his top heavy high command get out of the offices where they make grand pronouncements and nothing to back them up.

I have also stated on several occasions that he can do a better job of ensuring that his middle managers get into the streets and supervise the young officers , which is a confidence booster to young officers when their supervisors are on scene.
However let it be know that when it comes to crime fighting, and police work I am going to toss my lot in with the Commissioner of police over a johnny-come-lately who believes crime must be addressed now, on his demand. I do not know Carl Williams personally but literally everyone I have spoken to, including people whose judgement I trust have testified to his integrity and dedication to duty.
So before we proceed I want to ask mister Johhny-come-lately to match his resume’ on crime fighting against that of Carl Williams, Lawyer or not !!!

Charles Sinclair
Charles Sinclair

According to Sinclair A state of emergency, according to Sinclair, would reflect a policy decision of Government which facilitates the State giving additional powers, resources human and otherwise to the Jamaica Constabulary in the parish to cauterise the escalating murders. “At this moment there is a tremendous fear factor in the citizenry; children are unable to go to school as they are afraid to cross the imaginary boundaries in communities; people are afraid to go out to church, resource and community centres cannot carry on programs as participants are fearful in going out to the events. If it is not police action that restores calm and peace in the first instance and in the shortest possible time, I don’t know what else can do so,” he said In support of his position Sinclair alluded to reports out of El Salvador where the murder rate was cut by one half in 2015 due to heightened police activity. He went on to say, “I guess to the commissioner of police, Jamaica’s circumstances are different.”(Jamaicaobservericom)

I fault commissioner Williams for not pushing the previous Government for a legislative agenda which gives him a working shot at accomplishing what some Jamaicans want , safe communities.

https://mikebeckles.com/commish-vows-new-attack-blood-drenched-st-james-division/

On the other hand I support his view that a limited state of emergency will not have the effect suffering Jamaicans expect it to have.
As I said earlier the negatives are sure to outweigh any positive which could potentially be gained from a state of emergency ..
The police have consistently said that the upsurge of violent crime in the western parishes may be attributed to the infamous lotto scamming which has become a tremendous source of income for a segment of the criminal underworld on the Island.
Not only has it enabled those who were previously engaged to be flush with cash it has attracted a huge sud-set of violent criminals who also want in on the action.
This is where Commissioner Williams and the high command as well as the federation should have pushed for tough legislation to go after scammers tying them together as a criminal enterprise.
Go after them that way and they will be running away from being associated with anyone involved .

Additionally there is word that members of the police department are involved in the scam, something which would not surprise me.
The fact that the police department can barely find itself out of a brown paper bag makes it literally impossible for the affected areas to see a reduction in crime anytime soon.
Since Charles Sinclair has been a former Mayor and now a Government Senator I would like to see what his personal legislative accomplishments are, you know beyond big chat. What has he proposed either as mayor or senator which has been adopted legislatively ?
It would be foolish for anyone to believe that as a criminal lawyer and a politician he does not have information which could aid the police in their crime fighting efforts.
What steps has he taken to do his civic duty by saying something when he sees something?

Many Jamaican Lawyers Are Not Above Board, They Should Not Expect To Get Special Treatment When They Break The Laws…

Is he mad at the Commissioner of Police for his factual and unequivocal statements that a state of Emergency will not solve the problem or is he mad because the Commissioner called out business people who are actively engaged in the lotto scam.….….?
Pigs have a tendency to squeal when they get hit !!!
They cannot have it both ways , giving the commissioner of police basket to carry water and then criticizing him when the water spills out.
It makes politicians and political hacks look good when they get out front of the news and place themselves in front of cameras but ask them what are the solutions and they have no clue.
Big words designed to impress their friends will not do a damn thing to end this scourge of criminality and mayhem sweeping the Island.
Charles Sinclair has never been a friend of the police so no one is surprised at his position. Grandstanding is what many of these members of the party love to engage in.

A spade is a spade political affiliation be damned , Jamaica over party.

police_13

Any person who believes placing some police and soldiers in a community will stop crime is a lightweight and a damn fool.
Crime has to be tackled from Gordon House not 103-Old-Hope Road and certainly not from a blow-hard politician who doesn’t know his head from his ass.
Crime must be tackled in a three-tiered-way, they know how to do it I believe but I doubt they want to do it , too many powerful and important people are making big money from crime on the Island.

The United States Government created the Rico Statute to combat the scourge of the Sicilian Mafia or what was known as La Cosa Nostra.
Prior to the Rico Statute which investigated , prosecuted and incarcerated members of New York’s Bonano, Genovese, Gambino, the Luchese and the Newark-based DeCavalcantes families the most authorities could get members on were tax evasion charges.

The Feds changed the game and as Mob expert Jerry Capeci, who writes the “Gang Land” column for the New York Sun, looks at the state of the four other clans in the city’s infamous Five Families, plus the Newark-based DeCavalcantes. All have bookmaking, loan-sharking, and extortion rackets. The Genovese family and, to a lesser degree, the Luchese family (like the Gambinos) also have viable labor-racketeering endeavors that let them invest and launder their ill-gotten gains in “legitimate” industries. Every clan has declined of late, some more than others.

Holness Should Give Gammon A Talking-to , Maybe Show Him The Door.…

Lotto scamming is small potatoes compared to what the Mafia were doing yet no one talks about the Sicilian mafia in the United States as a force as it existed years ago . Back then the streets of New York City, Newark New Jersey, Las Vegas Nevada and Chicago ran with blood from the wanton killings by mafia hoodlums.
Cities like Chicago still face an uphill task with gang shootings, mostly by African-American hoodlums but despite having the same population as Jamaica Chicago only records about 450 homicides compared to Jamaica’s over 1200.

There Is Need For Popular Mobilisation Against Crime

Three strikes laws placed many who would flaunt the laws away for life, though not perfect , those laws allowed citizens to take their neighborhoods back from murderous criminals who pushed the envelope to see just how much they would be allowed to get away with.
Jamaican criminals are heads and shoulders above the police and politicians . They know they are favored over the police and they are exploiting that for all it’s worth.
There is much we can criticize the police and Commissioner Williams for , this is not it. Some of these politicians who are now opening their pie-holes and crying are the most anti-police demagogues around.
Don’t come crying to Commissioner Williams about gunmen it was not Carl Williams who created INDECOM and placed a political ego-maniacal narcissist in charge to persecute police..
Look into the mirror before you all begin to point fingers you hypocrites.
