There is a legitimate conversation to be had by the Zionists who occupy Palestine that [might make right], which gives them the right to do what they have done and continue to do there. The domestic policing comes amid reports of harassment against Muslims and Palestinians around the country
FEDERALLAWENFORCEMENT agents have questioned and detained Palestinian nationals and made visits to mosques in the wake of Hamas’s attack on Israel, according to civil rights advocates.
Abed Ayoub, executive director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, or ADC, said that his organization has fielded multiple reports of individuals and mosques being visited by the FBI this week. The Stop LAPD Spying Coalition, a police accountability group, also said it had received reports of federal agents intimidating Palestinians and their supporters.
The interactions are reminiscent of surveillance and targeting of Muslim and Arab communities in the wake of the 9⁄11 attacks, and Ayoub told The Intercept that they are contributing to a resurgence of fear among Muslim communities. “Like, ‘Oh my god, this is happening again, how are we going to protect ourselves?’”
The reports come after President Joe Biden issued a warning this week about potential “domestic threats” across America. “This is not some distant tragedy — the ties between Israel and the United States run deep,” Biden wrote on Tuesday. “In cities across the country, local and federal law enforcement partners are closely monitoring for any domestic threats in connection with the horrific terrorist attacks in Israel.”
In a press call Thursday, Department of Homeland Security officials said they do not have any specific credible intelligence indicating a potential threat to the United States, but that they are monitoring “a variety of threat actors who might be driven by anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, or anti-Arab sentiment.” The officials also said they were monitoring potential threats in relation to a video statement by former Hamas political leader Khaled Meshal, who called for a broad, global mobilization in support of Gaza on Friday. Meshal’s statement prompted mass speculation and hysteria about a “Day of Jihad” across the United States, with schools in some places shutting down.
Ayoub said that the reports that the ADC received included FBI officers visiting a Texas mosque to meet with leadership and ask about any “troublemakers” in the community, and FBI agents seeking to question an individual who was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement two months ago for a green card issue. That individual, Ayoub said, “has never had any issues” prior to his run-in with ICE. Ayoub added that the ADC received a report of the FBI visiting a mosque in a different state from a partner civil rights organization.
Meanwhile, Muslims and Palestinians have reported incidents of discrimination throughout the nation this week. In New York, for example, a group of men waving Israeli flags assaulted an 18-year-old Palestinian in Brooklyn. Numerous individuals at a rally looked directly into a camera as they exclaimed threats including “Kill all Palestinians, all of them!” and “Flatten them like a parking lot … once and for all.”
On Thursday, when asked what her message is to Palestinians who fear for their loved ones as Israel maintains a siege in Gaza, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul called on “law-abiding Palestinians to reject Hamas,” without addressing the question of Palestinians’ own concerns.
While the FBI has activated resources to investigate Palestinians in the span of just a few days, its track record of successfully investigating crimes committed by Israelis against Palestinian American citizens has proved far less urgent, noted Jarrar of DAWN.
He pointed to the cases of Alex Odeh, an activist who was assassinated in California in 1985, and Shireen Abu Akleh, a journalist who was killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank last year. “When Palestinian Americans like Shireen Abu Akleh and Alex Odeh are murdered by Israel, the FBI does nothing about it,” Jarrar said. “But when we protest injustice by Israel, the FBI knocks on our doors.”
After the FBI announced an investigation into Abu Akleh’s killing, which multiple organizations reported was premeditated last year, the Israeli government announced that it would not coöperate with the investigation. Israel’s then-Defense Minister Benny Gantz told the press that the FBI’s inquiry represented “interference in Israel’s internal affairs” and that he had “made it clear to the American representatives that we stand behind the [Israel Defense Forces] soldiers, that we will not coöperate with any external investigation.”
Decades earlier, Odeh, who was the West Coast regional director at ADC, was murdered before speaking at Congregation B’nai Tzedek, a Reform synagogue in Santa Ana, California. As The Intercept previously reported, two prime suspects in Odeh’s killing escaped to Israel, where they continue to live public lives. Electronic wolves with glowing red eyes watch over Japanese landscapes
Amid the tranquil landscapes of Japan, where the haunting howls of real wolves fell silent in the echoes of the past, an eerily familiar sound now resounds.
“You’re not getting away with this!” warns the synthetic wolf in a chilling human voice at 60 decibels.
Its mechanical neck swivels, a movement akin to a living creature scanning its territory. A blend of tech and tradition, it’s designed not to fool humans, yet terrify potential pests.
An evolution in defense, Monster Wolf, bearing lifelike proportions and glowing red LED eyes, emerges as a testament to human ingenuity. It stands as a guardian at the crossroads of technology and tradition, confronting wildlife intrusions into human domains. Beyond its role as a 21st-century scarecrow, Monster Wolf stands as a symbol of adaptation in a world, offering a modern response to age-old challenges.

As Japan grapples with the consequences of dwindling natural predators, the nation sees an increasing encroachment of animals — like deer, wild boars, monkeys and bears — into human territories. Deer and boars, in particular, can wreak havoc on agricultural produce, while encounters between humans and monkeys or bears can escalate into dangerous confrontations.
“It’s been a success,” confirms Yuji Ohta, from Ohta Seiki, the innovative minds behind this 21st-century, non-lethal guardian.
Ohta boasts of his creation, “To date, no one has questioned its effectiveness, nor have we faced any returns due to dissatisfaction.”
About 180 Monster Wolves have been deployed across the country, Ohta told ABC News. Their primary task? Presenting a formidable, albeit artificial, deterrent to these creatures and filling the void left by their vanished natural enemies. According to Ohta Monster Wolf can be useful on golf courses, near highway entrances, and railroad crossings.
“I think it’s much more cost-effective to threaten with a machine and drive it away from the village than the cost of a lot of people going out and exterminate it,” Ohta said.

But there may be some challenges to the success of the bionic beasts, Zoologist Nobuyuki Yamaguchi of the University of Malaysia, Terengganu, told ABC News.
“While the sudden lights and noises can startle wildlife, many animals learn and adapt. Once a sizeable segment of any species realizes the lack of actual harm, its deterrent effect may wane.”
The panicked reaction from animals in a video provided by Monster Wolf’s makers taking flight seems to imply that the open-mouth, fang-bearing gaze of the wolf may transcend computer-to-animal communication barriers. However, no bear or any other animal in the Japanese archipelago has ever come across wolves in its lifetime.
“For wildlife we humans are the scariest monsters — much more so than even is the mighty lion!” says Yamaguchi. “It is the beauty of evolution that some of our reactions have been formed through our evolution. Brown bears and wolves have evolved almost next to each other, and hence, the brown bear possibly ‘knows’ what the wolf is, and vice versa.”
Ohta also thinks Japanese wildlife instinctively fear the wolf. Among the sounds in Monster Wolf’s repertoire are gunshots, howls, and barking dogs. He says repositioning Monster Wolf periodically will slow down animals from growing accustomed to its presence.
Monster Wolf’s design, utilizing a mass-produced wolfman mask, has drawn chuckles and light-hearted criticism from the Japanese public. But the brilliance of the Monster Wolf may lie in its balance: It’s convincingly crafted enough to deter pests but retains an element of theatrical artifice, ensuring humans aren’t deceived. It’s a melding of technology with tradition.
The robot in wolf’s clothing has garnered international attention, with inquiries from around ten countries, the company said. Could Monster Wolf be a solution for marauding jackals in rural South Africa or trash-browsing bears in Alaska?
“While the global interest is encouraging, the Monster Wolf requires specific on-site installations,” Ohta told ABC News. “At present, we’re not set up for international deployments.”
Monster Wolf has not only captured attention but also sparked broader interest in exploring new approaches to challenges posed when wildlife gets to close for human comfort.
Ohta is bullish on potential advancements.
“We’re excited to be collaborating with leading automotive firms and academic institutions to pioneer the next evolution of Monster Wolf,” says Ohta.
His vision includes GPS-enabled autonomous navigation, allowing the sentinel not just to deter intruders but to proactively patrol sensitive areas prone to wildlife encroachment.
“When the sensors detect animals, Monster Wolf will chase and repel them.”
We all remember the unrest that came after the unjust death of George Floyd, and rightly so. But I think it’s caused the Minneapolis Police Department to fall under the radar. Outside of the trial involving the four officers responsible for Floyd’s death, there have been a plethora of other cases where local Minneapolis police officers have been accused of terrible acts, most notably excessive use of force.
Stetson only stopped after his sergeant told him to stop. Due to the incident, Stallings suffered a fractured eye socket. The incident was recorded on police body camera footage: Stetson admitted in court in May that he went too far in his treatment and pleaded guilty to the assault of Stallings. But do you think he’s going to serve any real prison time? Of course not.
After accepting a plea deal, the now ex-Minneapolis officer was sentenced to only 15 days in the county workhouse on Monday, according to the Associated Press. His plea deal includes two years probation, completion of an anger management course, payment of $3,000 in fines, and is “refrained” from ever applying to another law enforcement job for the rest of time. To no surprise, this has frustrated Stetson’s victim, who said in court Monday, “The system that I believe was designed to provide justice to citizens … protected my attacker but not me,” according to the Associated Press.
A recent lawsuit against the Beverly Hills indicates that the cops there are so racist that they’re even racially profiling other on-duty officers from nearby cities. Two on-duty LAPD officers were allegedly racially profiled while in the city. One officer was actually in uniform when it happened. One of the officers claimed he had a gun pulled on him during traffic stops. Both were stopped for traffic violations.
The now class-action lawsuit accuses the city of Beverly Hills and its police of racially profiling Black people on or around the city’s famous Rodeo Drive. The plaintiffs are represented by attorneys Bradley Gage and Benjamin Crump. Crump represented the family of George Floyd.
The suit was originally brought by Jasmine Williams, 30, and Khalil White, 24. Both were arrested by Beverly Hills Police in 2020 for riding a scooter on a sidewalk
“We were enjoying ourselves on vacation,” Khalil said in 2021. “The arrest was traumatizing.” He said they were riding the scooter on the sidewalk, which is legal in their home city.
Khalil, who said he had visited Beverly Hill five times previously with no issues, spent the night in jail. Williams spent about eight hours behind bars. They were charged with two misdemeanors — riding a scooter on the sidewalk and resisting arrest.
The city provided LAist with arrest data from a two month period in 2020. It showed that out of the 90 people arrested over that period, 80 of them were Black and nearly all of them were men between 18 and 30. This is even more troubling when you factor in that Black people make up just two percent of the city’s population.
The city and its police are being accused of having a history of discrimination against Black people. Gage said if Black police officers are getting pulled over in the city, other Black people should be worried. “It tells us it doesn’t matter who you are in Beverly Hills. If you are a police officer getting pulled over for driving while Black, the ordinary citizen should be terrified going to the city of Beverly Hills if you’re Black,” Gage said.(Yahoo)
Policing and Judging for profit have become a norm in America; somewhere in there is also prosecuting for profit. The rapacious artificial need created by states and municipalities to extract revenue from citizens to fund the police state has made driving down a highway or street a perilous adventure for motorists. Unmitigated and unchecked powers placed into the hands of police officers add to the dangers motorists face merely driving down the street. The desire of states and municipalities to maintain control of the citizenry and to simultaneously extract revenue to fund the police state, coupled with the over-militarization of the police, has left many asking if they are already living in a police state. Whether or not it is a police state is above my pay grade. It is sufficient to say that we are in a dystopian nightmare where the very citizens who are at risk actively cheer on police gunning down other citizens to provide a so-called safe environment. Who is safe when the police are empowered to summarily slaughter innocent citizens who may or may not have transgressed against road traffic laws?
The notion of many who believed that they will not fall to police bullets because of the color of their skin, their slavish obedience to the roving assassins, or both is highly misguided. The dangers posed by the police stretch far outside the narrow confines of the gun violence they engage in, with hardly any consequence. The immoral laws created to give them faux justification to breach the Fourth Amendment right of citizens; laws that they use to target communities they hate have created a widening chasm between them and those brutalized communities. Every stop in certain communities, just or unjust, becomes a dangerous experience for all involved. Pretextual seasons for stopping motorists include broken taillights, tint too dark, unable-to-see license plates, and a litany of other fraudulent claims by cops. The motorist hit a yellow line and swerved. In most cases, the charges are concocted to search the motorist’s vehicle and to see if the driver has a warrant. This is where many who are for the police state argue that these unconstitutional breaches yield results. What are those results? The results, they argue, are that police can find narcotics; usually, the motorist had a little marijuana or a cigar not fully consumed in the vehicle. These are called pretextual stops. For starters, they do not make anyone safer. Rigorous studies have shown that pretext stops produce evidence of non-traffic crimes at very low rates and have no effect on crime rates. These same studies confirm that when cops are allowed to be led by their gut instincts and other unchecked heuristics, people of color are disproportionately affected. Racial disparities in who gets pulled over erode trust in the police and deepen the perception that police use race as a proxy for criminality.
On that basis, police are given unchecked powers to violate the rights of citizens, usually with the blessings of their higher-ups and local prosecutors. In one case, a cop contacted a local prosecutor whom he called by his first name. The cop wanted to violate a citizen’s right, but the man stood his ground and would not relent to the illegal violation. The prosecutor corruptly told the cop to follow the motorist as long as it took to find a pretextual reason for pulling the motorist over. Nothing can justify that kind of corruption in the process of law enforcement; the cop did not suspect the motorist to be a wanted murderer; he merely wanted to flex authority he did not have. The local prosecutor he was buddies with was a willing participant in the scheme. The corruption usually runs from the top down. The anger and resentment this type of policing creates makes it difficult for the police to enforce the laws. It renders legitimate enforcement a dangerous endeavor that gives rise to a sick and convoluted need for more police, more armaments, and more aggression from police. Where it stops is anybody’s guess. The dangers these stupid laws pose to the driving public cannot be overemphasized, but extracting every penny in taxation states and municipalities can is paramount.
As I have said in previous articles, the problem is not the police making; state and local legislatures have created this mess they cannot and do not intend to disentangle themselves from. For example, what harm is done if a motorist does not stop immediately when a cop initiates his lights? Many motorists who, for good reasons, do [not] trust the police not to murder them on a traffic stop have every right to slow down, initiate their hazard lights, and slowly drive to a well-lit area before stopping. Doing that simple, sane thing in many states will get you murdered by the police you were scared would kill you in the first place. Florida is chief among those states. The motorist must pull over immediately because the police need to know that you obey them immediately, fuck your concern for your safety or that of the motoring public. Local moronic politicians with their heads up the asses of the police unions have made that state a death trap for the traveling public. There is an established understanding that there is no well-intentioned law that the police cannot turn into a nightmare. Giving police these unfettered powers to do as they please has been used with disastrous consequences for the public. Cops, in their quest to exert power, pull motorists over on narrow winding roads even at night, presenting grave danger to the driving public. The lives of the citizens do not matter as long as the cop gets to show who is the boss and the state or municipality acquiesces because the fines keep flowing into their coffers. In New York and other States, so-called,*move over* laws make it doubly dangerous, as motorists must move out of the lane where there is police action.
So when that much power is placed into the hands of the least educated, usually most narcissistic, low self-esteem people, the results are tragic — handcuffing a person and placing them in the back of a vehicle and leaving the vehicle on an active train track. Any citizen who commits an act like that would be appropriately charged with attempted murder. A cop does it, and there is no consequence.….….. the sad reality is that the life of individuals, particularly those of color, is of no concern to the legislators who empowers the police.

Let’s say you somehow decide to say that three times two is ten, then use the tens you arrived at to say ten times ten is one hundred; though ten times ten is indeed one hundred, the path you took to arrive there makes the final answer flawed, incorrect, deceptive, or worse. The so-called International Court Of [Justice] has no authority over you. Many Nations across Africa have withdrawn from the World Court as a consequence, and in the foreseeable future, many countries will step back from the United Nations. People are not opposed to following rules. They are opposed to rules that are not enforced fairly.

A photograph taken near the southern Israeli city of Sderot on Monday shows Israeli forces in possession of at least seven projectiles that have markings consistent with those used to deliver white phosphorus, according to a munitions database maintained by CAT-UXO. The US is sending munitions, aircraft carriers, and fighter jets toward Israel after the Hamas attacks.
The aid package includes the newest and most advanced aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford.
Specific munitions are uncertain, but Israel needs weapons for their Iron Dome defense system.
After the surprise attacks on Israel by the Palestinian militant group Hamasover the weekend, the US has been swift in its response and providing aid.
On October 7, Hamas militants launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing hundreds of civilians and abducting others. Israel responded with a series of airstrikes throughout the Gaza Strip.
Some 1,000 Israelis had been killed as of Tuesday, with another 3,400 injured, Israel’s embassy in the US said. Gaza’s health ministry reported at least 830 Palestinians had been killed, with at least 4,250 injured.

About this time last year, photos were leaked of a Colorado Springs Police Officer smiling a little too hard while showing his bloodied knuckles after violently arresting a Black man. He and his colleagues escaped punishment from the police brutality allegations but the DOJ is asking to spin the block with their own probe.
On October 9, 2022, Gadson was pulled over by Officer Matthew Anderson for driving under the speed limit and having no license plate displayed. However, the body camera footage shows Gadson’s vehicle parked and the officer mentioning nothing about the driving speed. At the time of the traffic stop, Gadson was unhoused and suffering PTSD from serving in the Army. Authorities said the responding officers had suspicions of Gadson being under the influence and that he refused to exit the vehicle when asked.

The Office of Justice Programs, Office for Civil Rights, has received a Complaint against the Colorado Springs Police Department (the Department). The Complainant, Dalvin Gadson Ochoa, alleged that the Department discriminated against him based on his race. Specifically, the Complainant alleged that the Department’s officers used excessive force during a traffic siop on October 9, 2022. The incident garnered public interest and generated several media reports.
The Complainant also filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, Civil Action No. 1:22-cv-03278, which involves similar allegations as his OCR Complaint.” The OCR will suspend its review of the Complaint (23-OCR-0142) during the pendency of the federal court proceedings.
Given the nature of the law enforcement misconduct allegation, we are referring the enclosed Complaint to your office for review and appropriate action.
News of the traffic stop spread quickly after images of Gadson lying bloodied on the ground circulated the media as well as one officer smiling while showing off his bloodied knuckles. His attorneys said Gadson suffered eye injuries, a ruptured eardrum and chest wall contusions, via KOAA. The DOJ’s inquiry comes over a year after an internal investigation cleared the officers of any wrongdoing.
“By referring this case for criminal investigation, the Department of Justice is putting these officers on notice,” said attorney Kevin Mehr. “The CSPD may not take brutality seriously, but the DOJ does.”

The United States actively supported the Apartheid system in Southern Africa economically and used its overwhelming influence to label the freedom fighters in that country terrorists. In fact, (a) the Ancient Hebrews have always lived in Palestine. (b) Others are still returning to Palestine, and not a single one of them is white. They are Black people. Nevertheless, the United States and its allies Britain and other so-called Western powers have made the world believe that those who co-opted the Jewish faith and fled Germany during Hitler’s rule have a legitimate right to return to a land they have never seen under the preposterous claim that God promised them the land. Worse yet, despite the horrific conditions that the Palestinian people have been forced to endure, the conditions that bred their militancy are being marketed to the world as terrorism. Even Black Christian Pastors preach the fraudulent theology that their Christian God sanctions the state of Israel. The disconnect is that the Zionist régime in Palestine does not recognize their Christian God. So if Israel is right, then they are preaching a fake gospel.
There is absolutely no legitimate argument to be made for the existence of a state of Israel outside of the ridiculous claim that God promised them the land. First off, even if God promised the Jews a homeland in Palestine, the white Germans who fled Hitler had no claim to that promise because they were not true Hebrews. Zionists do [not] believe in the Christian God, neither do Christians believe in Judaism. The conflict between the oppressed people of Palestine and the oppressive apartheid interloping illegal state that calls itself Israel is the creation of the United Nations with the backing of the United States, Britain, and other Western powers. To have a moral perspective on what has been happening in Palestine, one has to have a historical perspective of how the apartheid state came about. Let us understand that the people in the illegal state who call themselves Jews are white Europeans. In the same way that the United States came into existence, the Nation of Australia, New Zealand White rule in South Africa, the former Rhodesia, and other African nations, so too did Israel come about. All of the places named were invaded and taken over by White Europeans. They set up oppressive regimes, wrote their own history books, and declared themselves legitimate rulers of those lands. The illicit takeover of Palestine is arguably the last Sovereign nation to be overrun by racist Europeans who use might to establish ownership rights. It is a neanderthal strategy that is truly European in scope.
This should tell you all you need to know about this conflict. Yet the most powerful nations in the Western world support this tyrannical genocide and theft to the tune of billions of dollars annually.
Former President Jimmy Carter called the apartheid state of Israel worse than that which existed in South Africa. Yet the United States, Britain, and most Western Nations have propped up this cancer to the tune of billions of dollars each year. There is no more Palestine; the entire country is called Israel, occupied by the barrel of a gun. Palestinians are forced into squatter camps in two tiny areas called the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. There is no self-rule as the Palestinians are subject to the indignities of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). Israel’s powerful Zionist Army blockades the Gaza Strip. It decides if food or drinking water gets delivered to the 2.3 million Palestinians living on the tiny strip of coastal land, approximately 140.9 square miles. Israel’s army decides whether Palestinian fishermen can get into their boats to fish to feed their families. In the West Bank, Israeli checkpoints are everywhere, intercepting Palestinians, questioning them, and keeping them reportedly for hours from entering their homes a block away, even though they are known to the soldiers. Frustrated Palestinians are forced from their homes, which are then bulldozed, and new Israeli settlements are erected to house Israeli families. As the United States and its powerful allies support the tyranny, the rest of the world turns a blind eye to the plight of the Palestinian people. Worse yet, the powerful Zionist propaganda machine labels anyone who dares to speak out as antisemitic. Nothing I documented here remotely begins to tell the story of the deceit and woe that has befallen the Palestinian people since the United States and ally England created the illegal state of Israel in Palestine.
Soon after President Truman took office, he appointed several experts to study the Palestinian issue. In the summer of 1946, Truman established a special cabinet committee under the chairmanship of Dr. Henry F. Grady, an Assistant Secretary of State, who entered into negotiations with a parallel British committee to discuss the future of Palestine. In May 1946, Truman announced his approval of a recommendation to admit 100,000 displaced persons into Palestine and, in October, publicly declared his support for the creation of a Jewish state. Throughout 1947, the United Nations Special Commission on Palestine examined the Palestinian question and recommended the partition of Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state. (history.state.gov) The idea of two states within Palestine was a fraud and a lie. The Zionists who were allowed to move into the land of Palestine, had no desire to have an Arab State beside them. Remember, their central claim is that God promised [them} the land, and therefore they wanted to establish a (Jewish State). In order to establish a Jewish homeland, Palestine would have to be ethnically cleansed of Arabs and Palestinians. This was their strategy all along. Separate and apart from the illegality of the state of Israel and the fact that it is a white supremacist state run by white racists is the religious component. No one can explain the inexplicable lack of context by Christians worldwide in their support for the apartheid state of Israel. The Zionist régime and the people in Israel are [not] Christians; they are Zionists. Zionism is Israel’s national ideology, with Judaism serving as a nationality and religion. Nothing about Zionism or Judaism is in agreement with the teachings of Christianity. Yet White Churches in the United States and even the misguided ones run by Blacks have pledged fealty to the illicit Apartheid state. Many make pilgrimages to the occupied land believing that their Christian God validates and supports the Zionist racists who occupy the space with brute force and genocide. It is a contradiction that makes absolutely no sense. Christianity argues as its central tenet that no one can come to God the Father but through Yeshua the Christ (Jesus); Judaism does not believe Jesus was the Messiah. Zionists use the Torah-Christians use the Bible. The two believe in two separate Gods. As I have said before, there is absolutely no connection between white Europeans who fled nazi Germany to the ancient Hebrew People who have always lived in the land of Palestine. There never will be. Please do not ask me to pray for Israel. As a man of faith, as a man who believes in a just God, it is by default that I am inclined to feel empathy for the oppressed. Placing near unmitigated and, in many cases, unsupervised power into the hands of the least educated in society is perilous. Nowhere is that practice more self-evident than in the United States. One of the most evil yet brilliant strokes of genius that the racist right managed to pull off has been to transform itself from the obscurity of wearing sheets to commit crimes to out in the open wearing the law enforcement uniform. Couple that with military training, and you better understand what is happening on American streets with what passes for law enforcement. Despise it as you are entitled, but there is no denying the stroke of genius behind the move. How do you fight back the way you should against racist aggression from people dressed in police uniforms with the full backing of the states and the judicial system?
A judge recently told a young black youth at sentencing that he could think of no more egregious an act than someone pointing a gun at a police officer. (police do it every day, hundreds of times to innocent citizens of color) . He told the young man he was fortunate to be alive before sentencing him to a protracted prison term. The problem was that the young man was alive because he most likely did [not] point a gun at the cop, or he would indeed have been dead, riddled with bullets. The word of the cop was good enough for that judge to do what he did. The cop knew beforehand that all he had to do to destroy the young man’s life was lie that he pointed a gun at him, not that he had a gun. A knife in hand with no attempt to move toward a cop gets you shot fifteen or more times. What do you think pointing a loaded gun at a cop gets you?
The double-edged sword for America is that it is a country that glorifies guns. It is also a country that supposedly prides itself on the rule of law. (sic) The right to own guns is guaranteed under the Constitution’s Second Amendment. No reasonable person would deny the inherent danger that may exist in policing, particularly in some neighborhoods. But the palpability of the fear the police display cannot justify the brutality they mete out to innocent citizens, or worse the number of innocent lives they take as a result of those unfounded and irrational fears. The nation has a population of 331.9 million people. In 2020 the number of registered guns in the hands of citizens numbered at approximately 443.9 million. Simply put, there are many more guns than people, but that is not all. According to the Guardian, only 22 to 31% of American adults say they personally own a gun. And then it goes downhill from there. A group of 7.7m people, or 3% of American adults – own between eight and 140 guns each. Recent surveys find that about 40% of adult Americans own a gun or live with someone who does. Most gun owners cite protection as their primary reason for owning a gun, and most believe the gun or guns they own make their homes safer. However, research has consistently shown that households with guns are actually less safe — with markedly higher risks for accidental deaths, suicides, and domestic homicides. (wamu.org). It is inconceivable that since guns are held in such high esteem in the country, almost as a source of wealth and power and the ultimate instrument of protection, the poor and dispossessed would also seek to have them. And since the laws are deliberately designed to ensure that certain segments of society do not possess the means to acquire them, it was almost a given that those segments would do everything to get them. And since guns are viewed as a power tool, it is conceivable as to why the dispossessed are not allowed to have them. It is also easier to understand why the laws would give state agents the power to summarily execute anyone with an illegal gun. Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters released the body camera footage from the viral arrest of Le’Keian Woods, arguing the brutal beating was justified. However, Woods’ family is demanding a probe from the DOJ into what they see as another injustice. According to the arrest and booking report, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office took the 24-year-old into custody on various drug charges Friday. The police report says the JSO’s Gang Unit followed a gray Dodge Durango to a gas station where a man wearing all black with a hood pulled over his head exited the car. The officer later identified the man as Woods and speculated that he was facilitating a drug deal.

According to [Chief of Professional Standards Mike Shell], the detective warned Woods that he would be tased if he did not stop running. The officer tases Woods with a stun gun for the first time to which Woods stumbles but continues to run. Then the officer tases him a second time, causing Woods to fall face-first onto the pavement. The video catches Woods visibly bleeding, but it is unclear where he was injured.
Because Woods was holding on to the front of his waistline during the chase the pursuing detective believed that meant he had a gun. When the detective attempted to place handcuffs on Woods, according to police, he continued to resist arrest. That’s when other officers come to assist the detective. The report said it took three detectives and a patrol officer to get Woods into handcuffs.
Woods was struck a total of 17 times suffering punches and “unintentional” knee strikes to the face as well as elbows to the eye and punches to the ribs, the police report said. In the video, you can hear him groaning in pain and panting as if he’s struggling to breathe. After all of those swings, they eventually got Woods’ arms behind his back and into handcuffs. However, the viral moment of Woods being slammed onto the ground wasn’t included in the footage shown at the press conference. Now, Woods’ family along with attorneys Harry Daniels and Marwan Porter are questioning the officers’ use of force and the level of “transparency” demonstrated by the department.
“If you’re going to preach transparency, practice transparency, full transparency. By them only playing a part of the body cam video, it causes more questions. It raises more questions than what it answers,” said Porter. The attorneys said since Woods was transferred to jail, his face is still swollen limiting his eyesight and he’s been suffering dizzy spells and pain from a ruptured kidney with nothing but ibuprofen and Vaseline to treat it.
In a KKK-style attack, seventeen outlaws from the biker gang Hell’s Angels chased down and viciously attacked three Black men back in June. Now, three months later, a grand jury has indicted the gang on criminal and hate crime charges. San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan said on June 6, a 19-year-old, 20-year-old, and 21-year-old Black man were on Newport Avenue when they were targeted. Allegedly, one of the men had spoken to a biker’s girlfriend, and seemingly out of the blue, the three were being chased by Hell’s Angels and their buddies. While running, they were called racial slurs and told they “didn’t belong in the neighborhood,” the DA said.
Most of the shared phrases pledge a member’s loyalty to the group or to other members. For example, OMGs, racist skinhead groups and racist prison gangs alike often use the phrase “X Forever, Forever X”, where “X” is the name of the group. Members of the Hammerskins racist skinhead gang often use the phrase “Hammerskin Forever, Forever Hammerskin,” while members of the outlaw biker club Hell’s Angels use “Angels Forever, Forever Angels.” Often these phrases are turned into acronyms, such as OFFO for “Outlaws Forever, Forever Outlaws,” or CFFC for “[Aryan] Circle Forever, Forever [Aryan] Circle.”
OMGs and white supremacists also share a love for alphanumerically coded phrases. For example, one common white supremacist symbol is the number 88, which stands for “Heil Hitler” (because “H” is the 8th letter of the alphabet, so 88 is equivalent to “Heil Hitler”). Hell’s Angels members will similarly refer to their club by the number 81 (alphanumeric code for Hell’s Angels). One member of the White Knights of America, a racist prison 7 and street gang in Arizona and Texas, displayed the numbers 23 and 11 on the rear fender of his motorcycle (an alphanumeric representation of “W” and “K”).
The 17 defendants were arrested on Sept. 21 and face charges of assault likely to cause bodily injury with gang enhancements and hate crime enhancements. Upon their arrest, authorities seized 42 illegal firearms and drugs. If sentenced, they face anywhere from three years to life in prison.
“In San Diego County, we cannot, and will not tolerate, violence and racism of any nature, much less crimes like this hateful, vicious, and unprovoked attack. It is a testament to the coöperation and coördination of our law enforcement partners, working closely with our Gangs Division, that these defendants were identified and are being brought to face justice,” said DA Stephan.
One NYPD cop was part of a foot chase that left a 17-year-old boy paralyzed and cost the city $12 million but remains on the job. A second, known as “Bullethead,” has been sued 48 times costing taxpayers more than $1 million but was promoted anyway. The two cops are named in an analysis released Monday by the Legal Aid Society naming the 10 NYPD cops with the most lawsuits filed against them over the last decade and the 10 involved in the highest legal settlements. Earlier this month, a Legal Aid analysis showed $50.5 million in settlements for alleged police wrongdoing so far this year through July 28. At that rate, the city will fork over more than $100 million in NYPD-related settlements by year’s end, more than in four of the past five years, the society estimated. Jennvine Wong, a staff attorney with the society’s Cop Accountability Project, noted that despite disturbing allegations in the lawsuits the officers in both lists remain on the job and have been promoted to sergeant or higher.
“So long as NYPD leadership continues to allow problematic officers to rise through the ranks … our clients will continue to shoulder the consequences and the general public’s trust of the NYPD will remain fractured,” she said in a statement. But Patrick Hendry, president of the Police Benevolent Association, the NYPD’s largest union, quickly pointed out that lawsuits aren’t reliable indicators of how well an officer does their job. “Lawsuits are frequently settled for reasons that have nothing to do with the actions of a specific police officer named in the suit, including cases where city settles rather than fighting a frivolous suit in court,” Hendry said in a statement. “The Legal Aid Society knows the truth, but they don’t care. Their goal is to smear police officers with unproven allegations to help their criminal clients escape justice.” The cop known as “Bullethead,” David Grieco, is closing in on 50 lawsuits filed against him. He was promoted to sergeant in 2017. The city has settled lawsuits against him for a total of $1.1 million, The News previously reported.
Grieco is now assigned off the street to a coveted spot in the office of the Chief of Crime Control Strategies, which tracks and compiles crime statistics, NYPD records show. Pedro Rodriguez remains a police officer and is assigned to the 72nd Precinct in Brooklyn despite his role in the May 2018 foot chase that left 17-year-old Jimmy Alvarado paralyzed. According to the lawsuit, Rodriguez and his partner Pavel Kuznetsov chased Alvarado and Kuznetsov tackled him, breaking the boy’s neck. Rodriguez then helped handcuff Jimmy and tried to make him stand up, the lawsuit alleges. Kuznetsov resigned from the NYPD in 2018 and was hired by the St. Petersburg, Fla., police force. New York City settled Alvarado’s lawsuit for $12.05 million. In his affidavit filed as part of the lawsuit, Rodriguez says he tried to chase Alvarado but could not keep up with him and returned to his car without even seeing Kuznetsov tackle the boy. He writes he helped Alvarado to a seated position against a lamp post John Nuthall, a PBA spokesman, said Rodriguez was merely present for the incident and was not involved in tackling the boy yet Legal Aid keeps putting out the officer’s name with the huge settlement attached as if Rodriguez was solely at fault. The NYPD did not have immediate comment on the Legal Aid report.
My personal experiences with criminals should have made me brutal and uncompromising toward those who commit crimes. I guess I should want every criminal arrested, given a sham trial, and thrown into a dungeon, never to see the light of day again. After all, I was shot in the line of duty as a young policeman, even as I was trying to ensure that a citizen arrived home safely after being threatened with death. I was again a victim of random gun violence; this time, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, a nightclub. The latter shooting impacted my life in ways that cannot be fully explained in a single article. I have suffered theft in tens of thousands of (US) dollars as a business person. As a property owner, I have had vandals damage my property, costing me money that could have been better spent. I should be bitter and uncaring, particularly because the lion’s share of the harm I experienced was not at the hands of white people but blacks in the United States. Conversely, my experiences living and working with and among whites in the United States have been 98% positive. I have benefitted from their counsel, networking, and guidance. The continued murder of Black people, particularly young black men, by the police continues to give me heartburn. As a lay person, but one who served as a police officer, I see the shootings. I look at them through a parallel prism of the laws of the states in which they occur and their department policies, and in some cases, the killings meet the legal standard but fall far short of moral standards. And so the killings are a searing indictment on those who pull the trigger and those who pass the laws creating false justifications for murder. The immoral laws also serve as a beacon to the unintelligent, who see them as both morally and legally the standard by which everyone should abide. When unrighteous and evil people create the laws, we end up with societies of bloodthirsty cheerleaders to murder and other immoral acts. Over the years, I have touched on this subject as a freelance writer and a former police officer. Police officers are killing people not because their lives or the lives of others are in [imminent] danger, but because the laws will not hold them accountable. In video after video, we see police officers create the pretext to justify using lethal force legally. They then kill the subject and go through the motions of rendering first aid, all while yelling out the right words for the body-worn cameras they wear. They commit murder, then go home to their significant other and their children and go to sleep. It’s all par for the course.
In many cases, they murder a person of unsound mind, experiencing a mental episode, or who wants to commit suicide by cops. In the vast majority of the videos I have watched of these interactions, the police claim they cannot see what the subject has in hand, or they yell out commands at subjects holding a knife that poses zero threat to them. Sometimes the object in the hand of the subject turns out to be a cell phone, a television remote controller, or some other benign object. Police officers are heavily armed with all kinds of accouterments and weaponry, yet they escalate the situation by barking contrarian commands, which further agitates and confuses the subject, causing him to react in ways that justify his killing. These subjects are almost always black. A mentally disturbed Black man died in a hail of police bullets. Police encircled him as he stood outside his home with an object in his hand. The object turned out to be a TV remote. Black teen killed four bullets to the chest as he awoke from sleep in a Hyuandi motorcar police said may have been stolen. The cases are too numerous to mention. Time and again, we see cases in which, if only the officers acted as police officers and not as amped-up soldiers on a battlefield they could have resolved the situation at hand with no violence. To every hammer, everything is a nail. You know we have lost our souls when we cheerlead the shedding of blood over some rusty metals, plastic, and glass. The government will have to withdraw some of the power it has given to the police. We have already seen the signs that the citizenry is getting agitated. The police must be constrained; only then will respect for law enforcement return.

It was bound to happen. The illegitimate killing of unarmed Black people in the United States by police, the vast majority of which goes unpunished or deemed within guidelines, was bound to spill over into other countries. Canada, Australia, Britain, and others are now employing the same standard of militarized policing. As is the case in the US, it is in the UK. So-called conservatives feel the need to come out in support of police even when they are accused of the most heinous and egregious crimes. The political right is vested in the soldiering that police provide to white supremacy. The UK Metropolitan Police claims it is committed to rooting out misconduct. It has dismissed about 100 officers for gross misconduct over the past year while simultaneously saying it could take years to remove all corrupt officers. In the meantime, Londoners of color must exist with a force that study after study has concluded is riddled with deep-seated racism, homophobia, and misogyny. (mb)

London’s police force said Sunday that some officers are refusing to conduct armed patrols after a colleague was charged with murder in the fatal shooting of an unarmed Black man.
A Metropolitan Police marksman was charged Wednesday over the September 2022 death of Chris Kaba, 24. Kaba was killed after officers in an unmarked vehicle pursued and stopped the car he was driving. He was struck by a single bullet fired through the windshield as he sat in the Audi car.
The case renewed allegations of institutional racism within the London police department. Kaba’s family welcomed the murder charge against the officer, who has not been publicly named. He was granted conditional bail and is expected to stand trial next year.
Only about one in 10 of London’s police officers carry firearms, and the ones that do undergo special training.
The Metropolitan Police force said Sunday that “a number of officers have taken the decision to step back from armed duties while they consider their position.” It said officers were concerned that the murder charge “signals a shift in the way the decisions they make in the most challenging circumstances will be judged.”
The BBC said more than 100 officers had turned in their firearm permits and that police from neighboring forces were called in to help patrol London on Saturday night.
The force said it still had “significant firearms capability,” but had asked the Ministry of Defense to provide assistance with “counterterrorism support should it be needed.”
The request means soldiers could be called on to do specific tasks the police are unable to perform, but they won’t perform routine police work or have the power of arrest.
Home Secretary Suella Braverman, who is in charge of policing for the U.K.’s Conservative government, said she would review armed policing to ensure that armed officers “have the confidence to do their jobs.”
“In the interest of public safety, they have to make split-second decisions under extraordinary pressures,” Braverman posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “They mustn’t fear ending up in the dock for carrying out their duties. Officers risking their lives to keep us safe have my full backing, and I will do everything in my power to support them.”
Fatal shootings by police in the U.K. are rare. In the year to March 2022, armed officers in England and Wales fired weapons at people four times, according to official statistics.
It is also extremely rare for British police officers to be charged with murder or manslaughter over actions performed while they were on duty.
In one of the few cases in recent years, a police constable was sentenced in 2021 to eight years in prison for the killing of Dalian Atkinson, a former professional soccer player who died after being shot by a stun gun and kicked in the head during an altercation. The officer, Benjamin Monk, was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter.
Kaba’s shooting came amid intense scrutiny of the Metropolitan Police. In 2021, an officer pleaded guilty to kidnapping, raping, kidnapping and killing Sarah Everard, a 33-year-old woman who disappeared while walking home from visiting a friend. Another officer, who worked in the same parliamentary and diplomatic protection unit, pleaded guilty in January to committing dozens of rapes between 2003 and 2020.
In March an independent review found the London force had lost public confidence because of deep-seated racism, misogyny and homophobia.
The force says it is committed to rooting out misconduct, and has dismissed about 100 officers for gross misconduct over the past year. But it said last week it could take years to remove all corrupt officers.
