then entered into the pres­ence of his Lord and Savior. He was 20 years old at the time of his pass­ing. Kodi was born onOctober 17, 1993 to Michael Beckles and Lorraine Marshall in Bronx, NY. Kodi attend­ed schools in the Hyde Park school dis­trict includ­ing Violet Avenue Elementary School, Haviland Middle School and FDR High School. He trans­ferred to Arlington High School dur­ing the eleventh grade and grad­u­at­ed on June 26, 2011. Kodi’s Christian foun­da­tion began at John 3:16 Christian Center in Verbank, NY. He accept­ed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was bap­tized at Beulah Baptist Church on the same day of his high school grad­u­a­tion. He remained a faith­ful and active mem­ber of Beulah Baptist Church until his pass­ing. He reg­u­lar­ly attend­ed Sunday School (Covenant Keepers) and Bible study when on school breaks. Kodi excelled in aca­d­e­mics from high school to col­lege. He stud­ied pre-law at Dutchess Community College from 2011 until he trans­ferred to SUNY Plattsburgh in August 2013. He served on the board of SUNY Plattsburgh’s Caribbean Club, in charge of Public Relations. On April 4, 2014, he was induct­ed into the Alpha Delta Phi Society. He was a fix­ture in the col­lege library, where he could be found study­ing into the ear­ly hours of the morn­ing. He loved sports and played var­si­ty foot­ball at both of his high schools. He loved to play and watch bas­ket­ball and was an avid Oklahoma Thunder and Kevin Durant fan. He loved watch­ing T.V. shows, Breaking Bad, King of Queens, Law and Order, The Walking Dead and car­toons — his favorite was American Dad. Kodi had a great work eth­ic. He held part-time posi­tions at Hollister Co. and K‑Mart and was a sum­mer intern at The Dutchess County Court House (2013).His favorite foods were crab legs, fried chick­en and oxtails. His spe­cial skills includ­ed being excep­tion­al­ly tech­no­log­i­cal­ly savvy. He was also very adept at assem­bling things, even with­out read­ing instruc­tions. Kodi will be lov­ing­ly remem­bered by his father, Michael and his wife Cheryl Beckles; his moth­er Lorraine and her hus­band Daveton Hill; (3) mater­nal grand­par­ents: Ronald Marshall of Queens, NY; Norris Hamilton of Bronx, NY; Erna Thompson of Lugoff, SC; (2) pater­nal grand­par­ents: Sidney Beckles of Queens, NY and Ruby Wilson of Bronx, NY ; (3) broth­ers: Michael Jr. of Chicago, IL, A.J. and Jonathan of Poughkeepsie, NY; a best friend and cousin, Martin of Poughkeepsie, NY; (2) sis­ters: Sergeant Rhynishka White of Hinesville, GA and Hannah of Irvington, NJ; (14) uncles: Patrick, Horace, Lee, Calvin, Ian, Leary and Dean all of Kingston, Jamaica; Anthony of Brooklyn, NY; Sean
