Albers, 46, a 20-year police veteran who served four years in the Army, is the man caught on video screaming at protesters, “I will fucking kill you,” while pointing his rifle at civilians, St. Ann Police Chief Aaron Jimenez told The Huffington Post Wednesday night.
Albers told the chief he was sick to his stomach and “should have known better,” Jimenez said. He has been placed on indefinite, unpaid suspension from the force while an investigation is underway.
“It’s frustrating, because we told [our officers] before we went down there that there would be lots of people trying to antagonize to provoke them into saying something,” Jimenez said. “Whether you’re a pedestrian or protesters, you have to be professional, and [Albers’] actions weren’t in any way, shape or form.” The police chief said his department supports Albers’ raising of his weapon at protesters.
Now it is becoming shockingly clear to the World just what liars these cops are. Does anyone believe these cops would have allowed someone pointing a gun at them to live? Not only are they murderers, they are horrendous liars. What these liars are doing is blaming the people for their own dastardly actions .
I gotta warn you my readers , with the massive revelation of murders and other atrocities being committed by police, states will move aggressively to criminalize citizens who videotape police in action. In fact 12 states have already done so . Making it a criminal offense to videotape cops in action , unless they the police, give permission for it to be done.
Statement from Doctor Kent Brantly on being released from Emory Hospital where he was quarantined and recieving treatment for the deadly disease Ebola.
“I never imagined myself in this position“We treated out first Ebola patient (in Liberia) in June. When she arrived we were ready.”
“On Wednesday, July 23, I woke up feeling under the weather and then my life took an unexpected turn as I was diagnosed with Ebola. As I lay in my bed in Liberia for nine days, getting sicker each day, I prayed God would help me be more faithful in even in my illness, and that in my illness or even death he would be glorified,” Brantly said.
Brantly contracted the deadly virus while working in a Liberian Ebola ward with the aid agency Samaritan’s Purse. He was evacuated to the U.S. earlier this month along with Writebol.
How refreshing it is to see someone trained in Science understanding that the miracle of science is yet another gift from God, and not something which disproves Him. We wish the very best and pray for Dr. Brantly and Mrs. Writebol’s his coworker, as they regain their health and return to their respective families.
Even as we pray for the people in West Africa we are particularly thankful for Dr., Brantley and Mrs Writebol for their selfless service to others. Neither person had to be in West Africa, yet they selflessly decided that the best way to serve the lord is to serve others. We also pray for other health workers from Samaritan’s Purse who are selflessly doing God’s work through their works and not by their words .
Thanks you Dr. Brantly and others for your humanity.
In these pages we repeatedly write about the militarization of police departments all across America. We did not hear anything from the main stream media about this growing trend, until this massive buildup of military type power(not police) in Ferguson Missouri. CNN, MSNBC and others are just now awakening to the shocking implications of this.
This massive militarization of America’s streets is nothing new. After the Boston Marathon Bombing ‚the world saw in shocking detail what the Right wing in America was warning about all along.
The Right wing is silent about the takeover of America’s streets by, what for all accounts is military, not police. Apart from the bobble-heads on FOX ‚despite it’s predictions coming to fruition the Right is deafeningly silent.
No surprise there, as long as the jack-booted throngs with the sophisticated military hardware are running around killing and keeping the Blacks on the Reservation, the racist imbeciles on the right are satisfied.
this was Boston
However ‚this is not just about the imbeciles on the Right , it is also about the imbeciles on the left. What did they think would happen when they gave all of that surplus military hardware to small town police departments, many of which are staffed with semi-literate Klans-men and women?
The problems which exist between people of African ancestry and the criminal justice system in America are deep and sophisticated. Cops, Prosecutors, Juries, Judges, in many localities in America , it’s their world , everyone else lives in it. Justice is what they say it is.
The Ferguson police demonstrated that it did not care what anyone thought about the way it handled affairs there, after one of it’s Agents created the situation which presently exist.
Just yesterday another African-American male was killed only a few miles from where Michael Brown was slaughtered and left in the broiling heat face down in his own blood for over five hours. Police in St Louis killed the 23 year-old who is reportedly of unsound mind., just days on the heels of the questionable killing of Michael Brown. they said was acting erratically.
Police account:
cops in Ferguson have weapons in the faces of peaceful protestors
Cops arrived, the suspect turned towards the officers and started to walk towards them clutching his waistband. He then pulled out a knife … and told the officers, ‘Shoot me now. Kill me now,’ ” Reported Police Chief Sam Dotson. Responding officers told the man, repeatedly, to stop and drop his knife, Dotson said. He continued to approach, coming within about four feet of one of the officers, Dotson said, adding that both officers then fired their weapons, striking the suspect.
The media quickly gobbled up the PR stunt of Dotson and moved on. One reporter asked whether the cops who pulled the trigger were mindful of the situation only a few miles away in Suburban Ferguson.?
Dotson retorted, quote ‚If you’re the family of a police officer and somebody approaches you within three feet with a knife, I think you have the right to defend yourself and protect yourself. So I think it certainly is reasonable that an officer has an expectation to go home at the end of the night,” .
The reporter did not bother to follow up. Clearly it is reasonable that cops go home after their shift, in fact I have had many heated conversations with people who do not care whether cops go home as long as they do not step out of line. Dotson’s comments however was an insult to peoples intelligence. This story was swept under the rug because the life of the deceased is not valued.
this is what happens to blacks in America who dare stand up for their rights
No one bothered to ask whether the trigger-happy cops could simply have tazed the guy and take him to a Hospital. It would occur to me that if someone is acting in an erratic manner , walking up and down , saying shoot me, shoot me, clearly something is wrong mentally. What about your tazer? What about your pepper spray? What about your baton? What about your training? Or are you trained to pretend to observe the rules then kill?
What goes through the minds of these cops when they decidely pull the trigger and end someone’s only life? Is there something going on with police which the public is blissfully unaware of?
Are they training these cops to be mindless robotic killers? I believe they are.
This killing like so many others will fade away into the next news cycle , in fact it did not even make the loop. The fact is cops should use lethal force as absolutely the last resort in defense of their own lives or that of another. Cops are given tazers, pepper spray, batons , training, and they are given guns. Society cannot continue to allow cops to grab for a gun kill someone and get away with it .
These two cops would not have shot a white male period.
putting a black face out front does nothing to dull these images. Ron Johnson is just being used , he is just another cop in the end
Eric Holder the Nation’s chief law enforcement officer is scheduled to be in Ferguson Missouri today. At Martha’s Vineyard a vacationing Barack Obama will receive reports from Holder first-hand, about the realities on the ground . It bears mentioning that both President Obama and Attorney General Holder are black males. Nothing that Obama or Holder does will change the disrespectful behavior of police toward the black community .
“The suspect, who right now is described as a 23-year-old African-American, was acting erratically — walking back and forth up and down the street,” St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson told reporters.
“As officers arrived, the suspect turned towards the officers and started to walk towards them clutching his waistband. He then pulled out a knife … and told the officers, ‘Shoot me now. Kill me now,’ ” the chief said.
French: St. Louis shooting is not Ferguson
Responding officers told the man, repeatedly, to stop and drop his knife, Dotson said. He continued to approach, coming within about four feet of one of the officers, Dotson said, adding that both officers then fired their weapons, striking the suspect.
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. National Action Network. American Civil Liberties Union. National Urban League. Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. Rainbow push. The list goes on and on . There are no shortage of Civil Rights Organizations in America .Where are they ? Why are the people of Ferguson standing alone in the face of thuggish Police aggression?
Whats happening in Ferguson Missouri is not isolated. This is a much smaller part of a larger picture of abuse and undue aggression by Police all across America. The killing of Michael Brown is just the latest in a lifetime of abuse by thuggish cops in America. The pattern of abusive behavior by police have been going on for decades. There is a part of the society which turns a blind eye and pretend it’s not happening, because it’s not happening to them. In case after case, they kill and abuse black men and even women, then use character assassination essentially turning victims into criminals. Criminalizing the victims.
The latest narrative coming out of Ferguson is that Micheal Brown rushed at the Cop who killed him. Of course they do this using plants who spread misinformation and character assassination. We heard the same narrative in the Trayvon Martin case. A woman is now reported to have told a Radio Station that Micheal Brown struggled with the Cop, Darren Wilson for his weapon. She reported that Wilson told her this soon after the shooting of Brown. Witnesses to the killing gave a vastly different account of the events.
♦What are the chances Wilson called a female civilian friend to detail his account of events a little while after killing Brown?
♦ Who believes Michael Brown reached into a Police car to get the gun of Darren Wilson, which for all intents and purposes should have been in his holster, while he sat in the car?
The Media is complicit in the spread of this, they pickup this misinformation and loop it until it is woven into the narrative. It is looped until the lie becomes the narrative. The Cop ultimately walk free until the next killing and we go through the cycle again.
The latest attempt to justify killing Micheal Brown fell flat on it’s face in my estimation. It shows that the Police is outright lying to cover up what is an illegal killing. A cop cannot just kill someone because he feels like it, particularly if the person is unarmed. We do not know what precipitated the killing of Brown. What we do know is that the attitudes of Police when they deal with people of color is different than the way they deal with whites.
CNN this morning looked at the cop who gunned down Michael Brown, one of the questions asked of the cops friends was “whether he had ever expressed racial animus toward people of color”.Sure his white friends are going to tell you how racists he is. (sic.
The truth is that this cop Darren Wilson may not be a racist cop. He may be a great guy. He may even have black friends. Yet the historical perceptions of blacks in America by white authority may have influenced his decisions to use lethal force where non was warranted. That in and of itself shows just how deeply ingrained racial differences are ingrained in this country.
Rabid detractors who support whatever wrong Police do ‚will have you believe people of color do not want law enforcement to do it’s job. That is baloney . What people want is equitable and fair enforcement of laws and equal dispensation of justice across all racial lines. From grade school through adulthood, black Americans are disproportionately penalized by the system. that bears mentioning, that needs fixing.
What compounds the issue of police abuse is the inability of blacks to recognize how easily the power structure divides and conquer them by using buzz terms. The buzz term being used to delegitimize the excess of police is “outside agitators”. The so-called black leadership has totally fallen for it . The power structure does not want people from across the country coming together in pushing back against Police thuggery. I becomes imperative then that they demonize anyone who enters Ferguson in support of the struggle. They are labeled outside agitators.
Journalist are not immune from abuse, several have been arrested for merely doing their job. Clearly the problems of the 60’s, at least as far as police are concerned, are far from over.
When Martin Luther King went to Memphis Tennessee in support of striking sanitation workers he was labeled an outside
Governor Jay Nixon with captain Ron Johnson
agitator. When the freedom riders entered the South in a show of defiance against segregation they were labeled outside agitators. This term “outside agitators” is not new ‚it has been used effectively to neutralize blacks from coming together . We all know how King and some freedom riders and countless other ended up, under the guise they were outside agitators.
The question we must ask is this, “Were Michael Brown a white 18-year-old would he have died” ?
I believe it is safe to assume the answer is no. Therein lies the problem. It is an insult to put a black cop in charge of a festering problem while the same people pull the strings from behind. Does anyone believe State Police Captain Ron Johnson is in charge?
The answer is also no . What the Governor of Missouri have done is put a black face on a dangerously festering problem . The Governor like everyone else, knows that the world is watching. It does not look good for the world to see the white power structure once again beating down and abusing its minority population.
The difference this time, thanks to social media and blogs, people do not have to wait to be spoon-fed by the very media owned by the Oligarchs.
We are not mainstream, we are grass-roots, we have no agenda beyond truth and justice . We call it as we see it. We do not worry about consequence .
A life lived for one’s self is a life wasted.
Here we speak truth to power, we defend police, we criticize police. We also criticize Human Rights Agencies for ever being on the case of small Nations, yet they remain silent on police atrocities here in America.
These are some of the scenes of America’s out of control police in Ferguson Missouri.
We have just learned that Amnesty International have decided to grace Ferguson with their presence. In the meantime we will continue to call them hypocrites for ignoring human rights abuse here in America, until we see real substantive action from them.
Human rights groups have gathered in Ferguson. Amnesty International sent a 13-person human rights delegation to Ferguson, resources the organization has never set up domestically, until now, according to BuzzFeed.
Recent reports revealed Michael Brown was shot at least 6 times , including twice in the head. Most importantly there was no powder residue on Brown’s body.
Lack of powder residue indicate that the cop did not shoot the teen from close range.
This flies in the face of false police reports that Michael Brown was shot during a struggle for the officers gun. This revelation backs up what witnesses to the shooting claimed all along.
From all indications Michael Brown was shot down execution style and left in the streets for over 4 hours without any attempts to move him via Ambulance to a Hospital where he could be properly pronounced dead .
The Cop who shot Michael Brown wanted to kill him, the diagram shows what are called kill-shots, aimed directly to the head and chest of the 18 year old.
We are anxiously awaiting the report of Amnesty International on this their virgin foray into real police terror.
Police in Ferguson Missouri should feel ashamed .That shame should also be palpable to Cops in Staten Island New York . It should be felt by every cop and every person who supports and believes in the rule of law everywhere.
It ought to grate on the conscience of every cop, when the community they serve sees them as murderous tyrants. Law enforcement is a dangerous job. I know something about that, having being a front line cop who bear the scar of being shot in the line of duty.
One of the problem which bedevils Police Departments is their bone-headed approach to citizens complaints . Perceptions are sometimes reality. I served in a Department which did not heed the calls to change until it completely lost the confidence of the public .
It does not help police departments when they batten down the hatches and refuse to change. The streets of Ferguson is proof positive that approach does not work.
It cannot be that a police officer decidedly shoots someone because that person is.
1)Running away.
2)Hits a cop.
3)Says something an ego-maniacal cop does not like, or otherwise.
us news photo
Police officers are authorized to use lethal force only in defense of their lives or that of another. There are police cheer-leaders who talk out of the side of their mouths about when cops ought to use lethal force.
The fact is police officers are bound by law to arrest someone even if that person just shot at him/her as long as that person laid the weapon down. Cops nowadays are very happy to execute people for the slightest reasons.
The second reason for shame is the looting by certain criminal elements who are using this tragedy to destroy businesses in their own community. Residents of Ferguson have every right to demonstrate against police brutality and aggression against members of their community. They do not have a right to destroy property. They do not have a right to loot stores and steal property.
Then there is the white majority which largely sits on it’s rear-end and benefit from white privileged. By it’s silence and refusal to be identified with those who are suffering under the brutal yoke of brutish police departments they have sided with the oppressors. If this criminal assault by cops is allowed to continue, it will eventually get to their door soon enough. It may not come with the venomous hatred many cops have for the black population. It will come for other reasons.
Police brutality is a national Epidemic which survives and thrives on the silent acquiescence of the white majority. The white majority pretends not to see because it is yet to get to it’s doorsteps. That may soon change. The so called main-stream media does nothing to report on police excesses. Cops pretty much have carte-blanche to do what they chose.
I am delighted to see residents of Ferguson standing up and saying no more , lets hope this is not a flash in the pan but a National awakening which will push back the Police to being servants of the people and not their Lord executioners. There is a sense of ownership which comes from the narrative of the non-minority population in this country. Not sure where that sense of ownership comes from.
I haven’t heard the opinions of Native Americans on this issue, . I will be happy to hear from them when this ownership question comes up. In the meantime I will throw my support behind the sons and daughters of slaves who bled and died for this land and still do today. Right now my tolerance for the slave-masters and their house slaves is very low.
As the debate surrounding the relationship between the African-American community and Police rages. Many in the black community
Abner Louima
continue to believe that the relationship can be improved by the behavior of young black men.
Black middle class believe if they tell their sons to pull up their pants, not run from police, not talk-back to police, not go into the glove compartment when dealing with police. dressing a certain way etc, etc will keep them safe.
This sentiment was echoed by Judge Glenda Hatchett and others recently, in an interview conducted by CNN’s Fredrica Whitfield. I have heard parent after parent, person after person, say the same thing. I tell my kids don’t run, don’t do this, don’t do that, don’t have more than two people in a car etc , etc. Yada, yada, yada, Some of this may make sense.
Ironically ‚irrespective of what young black men do, nothing will change the attitudes of police toward the black community or our young sons. It is the attitudes of the Police which must change, not what black men do, it will never be enough. As we have seen in Ferguson Missouri and in Staten Island New York these two police departments fundamentally get it wrong .
Patrick Lynch the head of the NYPDPBA came out swinging at his employers, the people. The people say “we do not want you killing anyone selling loose cigarettes with choke holds”. The moronic Lynch and his cahoots said “resisting arrest is a serious crime we will continue to do what we do”. That kind of a brain-dead response is inimical of people who are bosses not servants of the people.
In Ferguson the people say “we do not want Armored personnel carriers with machine guns in our community when we peaceably gather
Amadou Diallo
to demonstrate”. What has the brain-dead police done? They deploy the very same military style armor, arguably to antagonize and agitate the people.
As I said in a forum with friends today, delivery of police services must be commensurate with the needs of the community the police serve. The community pays for police services, the community deserves a say in what kind of service they receive and how the service is delivered.
Yet what happened in Ferguson, what happened in Staten Island, what happen in black communities all across America is still being mistaken as community events. Police departments and their largely white support structure comes out in support of criminal-cops who blatantly overstep their authority and abuse and kill citizens. It is very rare that a cop is ever held accountable despite mountains of evidence of brutality by them. Cameras have brought to light the complaints African-Americans have leveled at police for decades. Instead of adding cameras to police uniforms 12 States in the United States have moved to make it illegal for citizens to record police activity ‚unless, they have permission of the same cops they would be videotaping for wrong-doing.
This systematic pattern of disrespect is hardly ever experienced by whites . This forms the reason many whites rush to the defense of police when these events occur. No one tells young white kids how many of them should be in a car. No one tells them what to wear , or how to wear their clothes. (granted I hate the sagging pants , I believe it is the right of young blacks to wear them that way. They will grow out of that trend eventually).
Police do not sodomize white men in station restrooms as NYPD member Justin Volpe did to AbnerLouima.Sodomized with a broken broom-stick , his pancreas and bladder ruptured. Abner Louima was hospitalized for months. His crime/He allegedly swung at Volpe. It
Sean Bell
turned out it wasn’t even Louima who did .
Police do not kill white men the way they did Amadou Diallo. Shot at 41 times 19 bullets found his body. The young African immigrant had nothing but his wallet.
They do not kill white men the way they did Sean Bell. Murdered the day he was to be married. His crime/he was in a car that supposedly lurched toward plainclothes cops.
Or Anthony Baez. Murdered because the football he and his brother was playing with allegedly hit a police cruiser. (Police cruisers are paid for with tax payers money)
Or Eric Garner. murdered using an illegal choke-hold. His crime /He was suspected of selling loose untaxed cigarettes.
Or Michael Brown .Allegedly stole some cigars.
Or the countless others killed and viciously assaulted and framed all across America daily. We could go on and on about the systematic slaughter of young black men but that’s not all. Every year scores of men, largely African-Americans, are released from prison. These men are released after new evidence of their innocence surfaces , after they have already spent many years of their lives incarcerated for crimes they did not commit.
Some argue these men are not Angels. Angels or not, no one deserves to go to prison for a crime he did not commit. Prosecutors prosecute
Eric Garner
on the evidence given them . It follows then that there has been and still is, a serious epidemic of police falsifying evidence to gain convictions. Thanks to Organizations like the Innocence Project some of the wrongfully convicted get to see the light of day again.
There are some well dressed so called blacks who believe people like Al Sharpton who bring attention to these injustices are self-serving. Some of these well dressed monkeys also believe folks in Ferguson Missouri are over-reacting , the truth is it will get to their doors-steps soon enough .
These out of control cops do not care about your monkey-suits or slick-back hair . To them you are just another N****r.
Police in Ferguson Missouri have revealed new bombshell information that Michael Brown was a Robbery suspect when he was shot and killed on August 9th.
scenes from Ferguson
This new information surfaced almost a full week later and after several nights of unrest and clashes between Police and angry residents who are demanding justice for the 18 year old.
The new Information comes to light after President Obama who is vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard addressed the Nation on the subject. Missouri’s US Senator, Claire McCaskill speaking at a Church said ‚” “This kind of response by the police has become the problem instead of the solution”, . Senator McCaskill was responding to the heavy handed approach adopted my Ferguson Police in response to the demonstrations. Senator McCaskill also said the Ferguson Police should be demilitarized .
The Ferguson Police released the information along with footage from a convenience store video, alleging that Brown is the person in the video roughing up a clerk and walking out with a box of sweet cigars valued at just under $50.00. They also acquiesced to residents demand by revealing the identity of the officer who shot and killed Brown . He is identified as 6 year veteran Darren Wilson.
In these Blogs we speak frequently to the issue of the Militarization of local police forces. It is refreshing to see Claire McCaskill speak out against this frightening phenomenon. Ferguson like most other Police Departments benefits from a Pentagon’s Excess Property Program, known as 1033, which distributes

surplus military equipment to police. The program began in the early 1990s to assist anti-drug efforts and grew after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
When Police Departments gets equipped with Military hardware and manned by people many of whom have recently returned from war, you end up with these kinds of situations.
Here we talk a lot about the growing trend of Cops to be rude, aggressive, abrasive, and disrespectful. This blatantly disrespect tends to escalate rather quickly into violence when police deal with certain sector of the society some of them have scant respect for. This kind of behavior does nothing to foster better relationships between police departments and the communities they serve.
It also jeopardizes the safety and hard work of good officers as they jeopardize their own.
Orette Bruce Golding became Jamaica’s 8th Prime Minister on the 11th of Sept 2007, like most Jamaican politicians Golding was less than perfect. Golding was a second Generation politician , being the son of Tacius Golding, who served as a member of parliament, and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Golding spent less than a full term in office, he resigned in 2001 after the fallout over the extradition of Christopher (Dudus Coke. Among the things Golding pushed for as Prime Minister was that Jamaica break ties with the British Monarchy and become a Republic. Golding reiterated this call in a budget debate in 2011 , saying quote.“Transforming Jamaica from a monarchical to a republican state means no disrespect, and must not be interpreted this way”.
May 2008 Golding told Stephen Sackur of the BBC, that any cabinet formed by him would exclude any MP known to be gay. In previous statements, Golding has stated that he and his party strongly opposed public displays of homosexuality in Jamaica and that he felt that they should continue to be illegal in keeping with Jamaican societal norms.
August 2009 The United States Government demand the extradition of Christopher Dudus Coke to the United States. Prime Minister Bruce Golding whose Constituency of West Kingston also doubles as the epic center of Coke’s Empire had a decision to make.
If Golding resisted attempts to extradite Coke, he faced the wrath of a massive American backlash. If he acquiesced to America’s demands he faced massive resistance in his own constituency and possibly a Nationwide insurrection which would mean the end of his tenure as Prime Minister.
Faced with those realities Golding decided to delay the extradition process while he sought back channel solutions to his dilemma. Back channel approaches are practiced by every Government , including the powerful United States. That back channel was engaging the services of Washington Law Firm Mannat Phelps and Phillips to lobby the US State Department on Golding’s behalf. This did nothing to alleviate Washington’s pressure on Golding. Word leaked out about the lobbying efforts, Golding was forced to take a more strident stance against America’s demands, declaring that Jamaican policy was not formulated in Ligunea.
Ligunea being the St Andrew home based of the US Embassy.
Portia Simpson Miller
Under heavy pressure from Washington, May 21 Bruce Golding capitulated to America’s demands and authorized the extradition of Christopher Coke. All hell broke loose. The events which followed , led to the deaths of over 73 Jamaicans . Christopher Coke is presently sitting in an American Federal Prison.
Golding had no option but to resign. Who could have leaked the information about the retention of Mannat Phelps and Phillips? Lawyers have a duty to protect the privacy of their clients. The Arm twisting to leak the information must have come from high above which forced Mannat to yield.
Just prior to National Elections scheduled for December 2011 ‚Portia Simpson Miller, Opposition leader, in a televised debate said quote :
“No-one should be discriminated against because of their sexual orientation. I think we should have a look at the buggery law and members of parliament should be given the right to vote with their conscience, in consultation with their constituents. I do not have any intention of prying into the private business of anyone, I would appoint anyone with the ability, the capacity and the capability in my cabinet.”
On December 29th 2011 Portia Simpson Miller became Prime Minister elect beating Andrew Holness in a landslide which surprised even the Party Portia heads.
Barry Montgomery Jr., described by his family as a harmless paranoid schizophrenic, was handcuffed and brutally beaten by a group of 20 deputies while he was playing basketball at a park in Willowbrook in July, family members said at a Wednesday news conference. Montgomery sustained seven broken ribs, facial fractures, a broken orbital bone and multiple injuries from use of a baton and Taser, according to the NAACP’s Compton branch, which called the news conference alongside the family and the family’s attorney, Martin Kaufman.
Montgomery’s mother described “puddles of blood” left by the July 14 arrest at Enterprise Park, saying her son was still in pain. He played basketball at the park every night for more than 10 years, family members said.
“They beat him for no reason because he didn’t respond? He does not respond. He does not talk,” Ty Ellis, Montgomery’s sister said. “It’s not right. It’s injustice. … We need them to investigate these officers.”
It’s happening everyday all across America. Police who are sworn to serve and protect are assaulting and killing innocent citizens . They summarily and brutally assault and kill citizens and lie to cover their tracks. Their atrocious behavior are compounded by Politicians who continue to take more of citizens rights and give them more and more power to abuse the very citizens they supposedly serve. In many localities the only way to report incidents of police abuse is to go to the same police. Citizens complain they are intimidated and made to feel like they are criminals, as a result most incidents of abuse go un-reported.
As was the case with Eric Garner the Staten Island man who was brutally killed by NYPD cops a few weeks ago, the Police in this assault brutalized this young man for a minor infraction. As far as their reporting goes they smelled marijuana, there was no indication that he was responsible for the marijuana odor they allegedly smelled in the public park.. It was enough for them to approach and brutalize the slightly built young man.
♦1)They never claimed they found a cigar .
♦2) They never claimed they had him tested and found drugs in his system.
♦3) It never occurred to them that the reason he did not answer them was that he couldn’t speak, the answer these days is to beat and kill black men.
♦4) Even if the young man did not answer them it was his right not to do so. He had the right to remain silent. These dumb cops ought to know that. That is why they added that he swung at them. The spokeswoman struggled with the lie that he was vocally aggressive to the cops. The family alleges the young man does not speak.
♦5)Why would police officers beat and brutalize a young man who is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing only 120 pounds?
DISRESPECT !
As I have said the primary reason Police attack murder and assault young black men and women is disrespect. Whenever these incidents occur we hear Police spokespersons , politicians, pundits and their supporters come out and say officers do not go out intending to harm or kill anyone.
Well , now I seriously doubt that these days. They may not go out on a particular day saying to themselves “I’m gonna go beat or kill a black person”. Or whatever they call blacks these days. The palpable disrespect many of them carry for the black community rapidly transforms to violence ‚as starch to sugar, for the black people they encounter.
Many people argue there are only a few bad police officers. That too is not true. When Police officers stand by and allow their colleagues to assault, harass , or otherwise abuse members of the public and do nothing, that makes them bad cops. Every officer who believes in the mantra “to serve and protect”has a duty to intervene and prevent colleagues from abusing citizens.
Many cops claim to be good cops, yet they do nothing when their colleagues assault members of the public then falsify reports which adds to the injury of the person . It is a despicable practice, no wonder America’s jails are filled to overflowing with inmates. Many of them innocent victims of corrupt police officers.
Where are the human Rights Agencies which meddle in other countries they hold responsible for transgressions against their citizens? They are deafeningly silent. This silence not only make them hypocrites, it makes them complicit.
There is a serious and ever increasing threat to citizens rights as a result of Police aggressivness and disrespect of the very citizenry they supposedly serve. It is shocking that after serving 10 years myself as a Police Officer I am now loathe to encourage a young person to serve as a law enforcement officer.
Law Enforcement is no longer public safety, it is now Government containment of the masses through brutal and murderous police departments. We are unable to divest ourselves of the Police as an entity, after all the police are necessary in a civilized society. there is a huge problem when the police cannot be trusted to act with civility and are seen as an equal offender to peace and good order.
As the father of black sons, my greatest fear when my sons get in their cars to enter the streets, is not for regular criminals but for some of the criminals now wearing badges and parading as police officers. There is a growing trend by police in the United States to charge people they do not like with resisting arrest. Unwitting law makers attach serious penalties to the charge to encourage citizens to submit peaceably to being arrested.
What police have done is use it to send citizens to prison unjustly, as well as to justify using excessive force on those they want to administer a beating to. In New City alone the New York city Police Department filed over 55,000 resisting arrest charges against New Yorkers over a 10 year period. Even though the first charge was for a minor offense. Thankfully some Judges are not blinded by police support, most of these cases have been tossed out along with the underlying charge.
The NYPD obviously sees itself as Lord of the people, if the PBA president Patrick Lynch and the Sergeant’s PBA’s president’s utterances are anything to go by. They haven’t gotten the message that the legislation was not intended for them to lie in order to incarcerate citizens, or to give police the excuse to physically assault or kill members of the public they swore to protect.
ORWASIT ?
We are forced to ask whether the Legislation making resisting arrest a serious crime was to encourage compliance , or was it intended to give more power to police to squash certain sectors of the society deemed disposable? It bears mentioning that politicians rush to say nice things about the police, even when the police clearly act in contravention to their sworn duties. This wink, wink, nod, nod has systematically encouraged the lawless within police departments to act with impunity toward citizens.
The notion that resisting arrest is worthy of death, even for the most minor offense has been echoed by many Police brass across America. Clearly they know they have cover to kill because of the sweeping immunity they have been given by legislators in the pockets or afraid of police Unions. The average cop who abuses a member of the public, particularly a non-white member, knows he/she will not have to account. Even in cases where citizens are killed, they are given desk assignments with full pay.
Forty three year old Eric Garner was killed while cops attempted to arrest him for selling un-taxed cigarettes. The Police failed to mention that mister Garner had just stepped in and defused a physical altercation between two other men. They also failed to mention that according to eyewitnesses, Garner had no cigarettes on his person at the time he was alleged to have been selling cigarettes. Notwithstanding Garner was placed in a brutal choke-hold which snuffed out his life. With his dying breath ‚Garner could be heard saying , “I can’t breathe I can’t breathe, I cant breathe”.
Daniel M Dononan Jr
Despite Garner’s pleas, the cop maintained his death-hold until the last breath of life drained from Eric Garner’s body. The Medical Examiner ruled Eric Garner’s death a homicide. That means someone killed Eric Garner, he did not die of natural causes. Staten Island District Attorney Daniel M Donavan Jr, still haven’t filed criminal charges against any of the cops involved in the killing of Eric Garner.
Donavan insists he will have to find evidence the cops acted unlawfully. This would be laughable if it wasn’t cynical and insulting. The choke-hold used to kill Eric Garner was banned some 20 years ago. If the method used to kill Eric Garner was illegal, the act is criminal. What Donavan is doing is foot-dragging . The District Attorney is hoping that this will eventually die down. This is why it is important that the family of Eric Garner does not relent in their quest to get justice for their loved one, who was essentially murdered by members of the New York City Police Department.
Had Eric Garner assaulted a cop and lived, he would have been beaten to a pulp and facing a raft of felonies from Donavan’s office. He would be cooling his heels in jail possibly without bail. This is the kind of hypocrisy being practiced similar to the mock investigation and trial which took place in the Trayvon Martin killing. The most recent example being the refusal of the Ferguson Missouri Police Department to name the cop who shot 18-year-old Michael Brown multiple times killing him on the spot.
When you see police abusing citizens , look at these cases and you get an understanding why.
After many telephone calls to the Mayor’s office about the putrid fecal stench coming from the grating in front of premises 530 Main street Poughkeepsie, today there was action. People passing cover their noses , the two stores nearby , the grocery store and mine keep their doors closed to avoid the stench coming inside. I have called the Mayor’s office , the Health Department, and the mayors office again, each time they send someone yet nothing was done.
Two weeks ago I called the Mayor’s office again to complain. His secretary was polite she listened to my complaint, again. About half an hour later the City Administrator Mister Milo Bunyi called me back. Mister Bunyi promised he would send someone out to investigate and report to him. I thanked him and hung up.
Someone did show up, a week passed , nothing. August 12th the stench is still as strong and putrid as ever, so I called the mayor’s office again, this time I told the lady I would go to the internet and maybe to Court, just so I don’t have to breathe in the stench of people’s excrement . About an hour later these men showed up. The stench seemed to have dissipated if not totally gone.
We will wait to see if the problem is solved. I called the Mayors office and offered my thanks to his secretary.
The beating death of Mario Deane while in the custody of the St James Police ‚has once again shown the Police to be still an inept Law Enforcement Agency at best and in the eyes of some, a grossly abusive and corrupt Force.
The problem for the Police is that there is no happy medium between those two perceptions. Dean was arrested for possession of a marijuana cigar and was awaiting bail when the beating occurred. There are reports which indicate that someone had show up to post bail for Deane but had not satisfied all of the Bail requirements and was told to return to the Barnett Street Station where Dean was being held..
Deane in hospital
Also in the public domain is speculation that Dean may have had less than kind words for the Police and was subsequently sent back to the lockup on that basis. The Police, for it’s part have never missed an opportunity to show it’s incompetence, went ahead and told the public that Dean fell from his Bunk and injured himself.
This defies logic or common sense. 1)Did the Police hierarchy see this picture of Mario Deane before they went to the public with that story?
2) Did the Command at Barnett street get that information from the prisoners who shared Dean’s cell or did the Police concoct that story as is being argued all over social media and beyond?
The Police have since charged two men with the beating death of Dean. Those charged with Deane’s death are Marvin Orr,35, from Portland and Adrian Morgan, 25 from Westmoreland. How could the Police not know that giving varying accounts of what happened would have incurred the venomous wrath of a population which prefers criminals to the rule of law?
Whatever the truth surrounding the beating death of Mario Dean’s it cannot be that both stories are true.
If the men charged with beating him are guilty, the police could not have . If the Police beat Mario the men charged could not have done so. The Police may be accused of willful complicity by not responding when he screamed. They may have been negligent by not paying attention to their duties. They may even be complicit by giving the inmates a wink and a nod to assault mister Dean. The truth of the matter is, we do not yet know what the facts are.
Irrespective of the truth in this case, the Police High Command have bungled this case as they have done pretty much everything else they have been tasked with. This is bad , it looks bad and it smells bad. The Hierarchy of the force should have been on this investigation and properly briefed the family and public immediately.
This would have meant assigning a team of Detectives immediately they were informed of this. Those Detectives, if competent, would have been able to tell immediately whether the wounds on Mario Deane were consistent with someone falling from a bed. Someone falling from a bed would suffer one or two wounds, not multiple wounds or abrasions.
Some of the criticisms I have heard is that the victim mister Dean did not have any defensive wounds to his hands etc. As a trained Detective I can tell you someone can be beaten without having any defensive wounds. This would occur if the person was rendered unconscious with an opening blow .
Whatever the truth of this case the Police have shown once again they are willing to give ammunition to their critics because of their incompetence.
Meghan O’Donnell, 29, from St Louis, prays at the spot where Michael Brown was killed Sunday evening in Ferguson, Missouri. — AP
Unrest and disorder followed after a candle-light vigil held in remembrance of 18 years old Michael Brown who was shot multiple times in a scuffle with a police officer, in suburban Ferguson St Louis Missouri .
Police say Brown who was unarmed, was shot multiple times as he scuffled with the officer.
Police say several businesses were looted in the mêlée which ensued , including a tire shop and check-cashing store. The shot teen is black the Police officer is white.
Browns parents
If there was wrongdoing by the police in this matter, how does destruction of businesses and stealing help? The goodwill decent people have toward this family was placed in dire jeopardy by the opportunistic criminal elements who seek out these incidents for exploitation .
Whatever the circumstances of this case, destruction of the hard work of independent business people and the community is certainly not the answer.
The impasse created by Staten Island Republican politicians over the planned march by the National Action Network seem to have subsided for now. Sharpton and others have decided they will march into the Borough using Buses and cars. It will be interesting to see what the howlers complain of next , now that Sharpton has show flexibility in this matter.
The Bridge is owned by New York City and operated by the (MTA) Metropolitan Transport Authority. The bridge was not built with a pedestrian walkway, non-motorized transportation is limited to using the bridge during special events such as the New York City Marathon and Five Boro Bike Tour. If the Bridge can be shut down to accommodate Marathon runners and Bikers it should be allowed for protests against Injustice. What we hear from the Pharisees in Staten Island is unmitigated wink, wink, nod, nod, for the Cops who killed Asthmatic Eric Garner with an illegal choke-hold.
Reverend Al Sharpton and his National Action Network planned to march across the Verrazano Narrows Bridge into Staten on Saturday Aug.23rd to protest the choking death of 43 year old Eric Garner of the Borough. The Borough’s Republicans raised a big stink , claiming that the march would close down the bridge on a day when it is heavily used. We contended from the offset of their howling , that the reason they were griping had little or nothing to do with Bridge congestion or it’s closing. In fact even though the Bridge in question has no walkway, traffic would not have to stop in order for a foot march to happen. There would be monetary cost associated with a potential closing.
One Staten Island resident summed up our theory this way.
Reverend Al Sharpton
“I would think the mayor should stop him, but this mayor, he’s not going to stop him. He’s just not going to do that,” said Len Hickey. “He doesn’t want to get involved with all the politics and the insanity of it. He won’t do it. He won’t have the cops to do it. He’s not Giuliani.”
That’s exactly the point , Bill De Blasio is not Rudolph Giuliani! Rudolph Giuliani cared only about the Police and the City’s white residents. De Blasio won on a mandate to fix the City’s Police problems with residents of the City. Most of those problems between residents and the NYPD were created by Giuliani’s disrespect for the minority communities.
One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding the Giuliani era was that he was solely responsible for making the city safer. That was a myth which he never misses an opportunity to exploit. The truth is that Mayor David Dinkins started safe city safe streets, and actively grew the Police Department. Many of the Cops who demonstrated with the divisive race-monger Giuliani on the steps of City Hall, referring to Dinkins as a washroom-attendant, owed their jobs to Mayor Dinkins. No, De Blasio is trying to be a Mayor to all New Yorkers, not just Cops, firefighters and his chosen friends.
Police officers do not have to turn a blind eye to crimes and misdemeanors . Policing the City’s 5 Boroughs can be done if Police officers act intelligently. Aggressive Policing does not mean abusive Policing. Force must be a last resort in effecting arrests. There are other ways to bring residents of the City to court for minor offences without violent arrests which leads to what happened to Eric Garner. Police Officers must divest themselves of the testosterone-laden-bravado too many of them have. This is not confined to the NYPD.
Showing respect to someone about to be arrested , goes a long way in determining how that arrest will end. It may have a lot to do with the safety of the person being arrested and the cop effecting the arrest. Too many Police officers place themselves on pedestals above residents. Too many Cops have no respect for people who do not look like them. Too many cops escalate rather than de-escalate minor matters. Police Officers need to get back to speaking to people with respect and they will find people will be far more accommodating to them. Being hired as a cop does not make one a God. Most Cops need to be reminded of this. Once they figure this out, I’m all for bringing criminals and offenders to justice.
CAUTION
A word of caution to black residents of New York city and all across America. I have heard some very disturbing comments coming from some of you against Al Sharpton. What I hear sounds exactly like something out of the Republican play-book. Be careful when you allow others to tell you who your leaders should be. They said the very same things about Dr King. They tried to coerce him into commiting suicide under threat of blackmail. When he did not capitulate to their demands they put a bullet in him.
Every other black leader has had his/her character dragged through the mud. Character Assassination. What happens to a people without leaders? Remember what happen to others will happen to you, you will need someone to stand with you. Blacks in America have not won a single victory that cannot be reversed. The Supreme Court just last year stripped away parts of the voting Rights Act. The Court’s logic is that it worked well, and is no longer needed, things are not the way they were when the Legislation was signed into Law. That was nonsense and everyone of those Justices who voted to strip away sections of the law knew it. You do not change something because it works, You change it because it does not work.
All across America Police are killing young black men, no one is immune.
A few of the comments which made it onto the CBS website in relation to this topic.
1)Al Sharpton is a racist scumbag. He chose the Verrazano Bridge because he wants to inconvenience the predominantly white population of Staten Island, which is 75% Caucasian. Those residents should do what many of their parents did at the Wall Street Hard Hat riot in 1970- and perform an active counter-demonstration. Maybe we’ll get lucky and see on the six-o’clock news some of them tossing Sharpton off the bridge into the Narrows — appropriate for a narrow-minded, Anti White, Anti Semitic piece of garbage like racist Al.
Isn’t there anybody to take care of this racist sc..bag? Is a minority of Welfare recipients and jailbirds becoming a Majority? Where is our Freedom to chase these people out of our life with a wet rag?
Compromise? What compromise??? The police need to crack nightsticks over those nappy hair skulls if they so much as step foot onto the bridge an impede traffic. So much for law and order in this city now.….are all you SCUM happy you voted for this N lover???
The Reverend Al Sharpton Civil Rights leader of the National Action Network and NBC talk show host plans to march across the Verrazano Narrows Bridge on Saturday August 23rd, in a bid to stop Police violence on African-American men.
Sharpton’s latest plan to march across the Verrazano narrows Bridge is to protest the choking death of 43-year-old Staten Island resident Eric Garner an asthmatic by NYPD cops.
The planned march has ignited a firestorm of protest from Staten Island Republicans who want Mayor Bill De Blasio to intervene and prevent the march from happening. Thus far the Mayor has refused to get involved in the row. Permits for marches are usually granted by the Police, however Police Commissioner Bill Bratton has tossed it over to the MTA which owns the bridge saying it’s their property.
City Council Minority Leader Vincent Ignizio (R‑51st) and Councilman Steven Matteo (R‑50th) have called on the MTA and the NYPD to block the march over the bridge, which has no walkway. Marching over the bridge would require shutting down some lanes of traffic.
U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm (R‑N.Y.) who is under Federal Indictment and — who represents the district where the bridge is located — wrote a letter to Mayor de Blasio expressing opposition to the march. In his Letter Grimm said.
Grimm
Staten Island already bears the burden as the traffic and pothole capital of the country, not to mention having the most exorbitant toll in the nation,” Grimm said. “To close our only direct passage to the rest of the City on a summer travel weekend is a recipe for total disaster. There’s a reason the bridge has rarely been closed in its 50-year history; because the major disruption and safety risks are massive: our small businesses — already coping with the outrageous tolls — would bear an even greater financial burden, families would be severely impacted, and the Staten Island Expressway would be a parking lot… FDNY and EMT facilities in southern Brooklyn that serve Staten Island’s north shore neighborhoods would be cut off in the event of an emergency, and that is unacceptable.”
“The fact remains: the people of New York elected Bill de Blasio — not Al Sharpton — and it’s time for the Mayor to stand up, show some true leadership, and deny these permits to close the Verrazano bridge,” he added.
Staten Island Borough President James Oddo also expressed opposition to the march via Twitter.“We should be building bridges in our community, not marching over them,” he tweeted.
Lets establish a few facts, these Republican hypocrites are not concerned about a bridge closing . They are not concerned about traffic
Al Sharpton
or any of the things they griped about. What they are opposed to is Al Sharpton and African Americans marching into the Borough many of them believe to be their own. The Borough President James Oddo’s statement is particularly reprehensible. There is no greater threat to building Bridges than having Cops choking and killing innocent citizens. Where is the outrage from these right-wing closeted racists when the Police act inappropriately?
The fact of the matter is that many of those cops live right there on Staten Island , they can do no wrong for these politicians, many of whom see the cops as their personal army, there to defend them against the blacks.
Congressman Grimm would be better served if he paid attention to the Federal Indictment which charges him with 20 counts of fraud, perjury and obstruction tied to his former ownership of an Upper East Side fast-food eatery that, the feds charge, employed illegal aliens off the books. The charges against Grimm, 44, an ex-Marine and former FBI agent, carry a maximum sentence of 20 years behind bars and include hiding more than $1 million in cash that the Second Avenue restaurant Healthalicious took in between 2007 and 2010.
Grimm also is accused of lying under oath while a member of Congress during a January 2013 deposition tied to a civil suit filed by his employees. Additionally ‚In 2012, it was revealed that Grimm’s former partner Bennett Orfaly had ties to the Gambino crime family and was so close to one mob capo that Orfaly considered him like an “uncle.
As reported by the New York post.
I am not a big fan of marches , not sure of the effectiveness of them anymore. Neither Michael Grimm , Borough President Oddo, the Police, nor any of the other hypocrites own the Borough of Staten Island. Just because these clowns are opposed, I believe Sharpton should gather the Troops and march into Staten Island if he chooses to do so.
These two competing demands are the sticking points at the latest flare-up between Israel and The Palestinians living in Gaza.
Israel’s Western backers feeds us the idea that all Israelis want is to live in peace. They argue that Hamas, and by extension the Palestinians are violent Terrorists who blow up innocent Israelis on buses and in shopping Malls or wherever they get a chance to unleash their brand of Terror.
Now much of what the Palestinians have done over the years have not fitted into the conventional protocols of warfare. Whether we agree with Hamas or Fatah’s tactics is neither here nor there. The fact of the matter is this is war between two competing interests. Israel is armed with Nuclear weapons, It’s Military is one of the most sophisticated in the World. It’s Intelligence Service the Mossad is one of the world’s best-known and most highly regarded intelligence agencies.
map showing loss of Palestinian land from 1946 – 2010. http://www … www.worldliteraturetoday.org
Israel is backed by the United States, England and many other powers which has strategic interests paralleling that of Israel’s. Each year the United States alone pumps over 3 Billion Dollars of direct Aid into Israel.
The people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip lives under total and complete domination of Israel’s Occupation. At the center of the suffering of the Palestinian suffering is Israel’s continued annexation of their lands.
Israeli’s builds settlements on Palestinian lands, against International Law, the State then puts Police and other amenities in supposedly to protect the settlers. The State builds roads and erect check-points preventing Palestinians from even using the roads. That area is now part of the state of Israel.
Former President Jimmy Carter
The type of policies being pursued by Israel in building settlements and road then preventing Palestinians from using those roads are a form of apart-ness or Apartheid worse than that which was practiced in South Africa
The peace process has been pretty well dormant for the past three years. Of course, in the past we played a key role in being the mediator and convener of meetings, but that’s not happening either. The first priority would be for the Israelis and Palestinians to take the initiative. But the Israelis have continued with their massive settlement program in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and the Palestinians say they won’t negotiate as long as Israel is continuing to take over their territory, so there’s deadlock. The United States is looked upon by the rest of the international community as the primary interlocutor, so the European Union members don’t take action. As a result, there’s no intermediary who can move things forward and initiate peace talks.
Israel should come out and tell the World it does not want a two State solution and live with the consequences.(President Bill Clinton).
The fact is that Israel does not want a Palestinian State side by side with Israel. There has been significant attempts at a two state solution between Israel and Palestine starting from the 1991 Madrid Conference. There followed the 1993 Oslo accords and the failed 2000 Camp David summit followed by the Taba negotiations in early 2001. In 2002, the Arab League proposed the Arab Peace Initiative. The latest initiative, which also failed, was the 2013 – 14 peace talks.
If Israel wanted a two state solution to the present problems there would have been two states. Netanyaha have stated repeatedly that he does not want a bi-national state. This is a remarkable statement that what Israel wants is a pure apartheid Jewish state. It is not even an issue of Jewish people. Black Jews are treated like dirt in Israel. Many African Jews are in confinement in the Negev Desert, Israel labels them Infiltrators.
What is happening to the Palestinian people is ethnic cleansing. In order for Israel to get away with it the west must demonize Palestinians as immoral ungodly terrorists. Every people have a right to self-defense and self-determination. Too many are afraid of Jewish money and power, so they remain silent. It cannot be that Israel steal the land , massacres the people and the world blames the victim.
When Israel says it wants the total demilitarization of Gaza , they know full well that Hamas or whoever is in charge at any given time, can never agree to those terms. That would be unconditional surrender and capitulation to occupation and domination. Israel makes those demands knowing that the Palestinians will not and cannot agree to them. This gives them the excuse they need to continue with their land grab and ethnic cleansing.
It is incomprehensible that anyone , irrespective of political or religious beliefs, would ever seek to justify this immoral campaign which has been waged against the Palestinian people.
Israel continues to build settlements essentially taking more land. Palestinians fight back, Israel kills them in numbers. Seem like a perfect plan to rid the land of Palestinians.
