As the world watches in horror, the Zionist Apartheid state of Israel banned two duly elected Muslim US Congresswomen of color. Even some brain-dead Republicans are speaking out. The move was seen by many as Benjamin Netanyahu kowtowing to the racist-in-chief in the white house. Benjamin Netanyahu was a racist before Donald Trump came along. Netanyahu had long demonstrated his disdain and distaste for African people, and even our first African-American president, because he did not bow to his demands, or kiss his ass like most in the congress do. Barring Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib is nothing that anyone should be surprised at. Benjamin Netanyahu is a racist and that’s the end of it, blaming Donald Trump, regardless of how repugnant he is, is shortsighted. That is why the statement of Vermont Independent Senator, and Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is so resonant.
Life on a daily basis in Gaza
Bernie Sanders To Israel: Ban Our Lawmakers? Then Don’t Take Our Money.
[Sen. Bernie Sanders (I‑Vt.) has suggested Israel should now decline the billions of dollars it receives in U.S. aid in the wake of its ban on Reps. Ilhan Omar (D‑Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D‑Mich.) from entering the country. “I wish I could tell you that I am shocked, I am not,” the Democratic presidential candidate said on Thursday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “All In” about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to bar the lawmakers, which was encouraged and supported by U.S. President Donald Trump. “And if Israel doesn’t want members of the United States Congress to visit their country, to get a first-hand look at what’s going on, and I have been there many, many times, but if he doesn’t want members to visit maybe he can respectfully decline the billions of dollars that we give to Israel.” (Senator Bernie Sanders)].
The grim reality of Palestinian existence
Since Israeli authorities decided to deny access to the two legislators, they have since backtracked and have granted conditional access to congresswoman Tlaib. She would be allowed to enter the state as a private citizen to visit her aging grandmother. The congresswoman who initially accepted the terms from some reports, have now refused their offer, insisting the conditions are designed to humiliate her. This writer agrees with her assessment. What they want to do is to remove her from the cover and prestige of the US congress, thereby reducing her to an ordinary Palestinian. By doing so, they intend to reduce her to the indignities they mete out to Palestinian daily, as per their policies. Tlaib is of Palestinian ancestry but was born in the United States.
Image of the Gaza strip under an Israeli air bombardment
Under no circumstances would America allow any other country in the world, other than Israel) to block two sitting legislators from traveling to their country, without exacting strong penalties. But this is nothing new, the United States supported the oppression of the people of South Africa under the ignoble assault of the apartheid régime of PW Botha and others before him. It is also well established that Israel supplied resources to Botha, while the world outside the United States condemned the racist régime. Ronnie Kasrils, a leading member of the African National Congress during the apartheid era and former government minister writing for the Guardian in April of this year wrote; [As a Jewish South African anti-apartheid activist, I look with horror on the far-right shift in Israel ahead of this month’s elections, and the impact in the Palestinian territories and worldwide. Israel’s repression of Palestinian citizens, African refugees, and Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza has become more brutal over time. Ethnic cleansing, land seizure, home demolition, military occupation, the bombing of Gaza and international law violations led Archbishop Tutu to declare that the treatment of Palestinians reminded him of apartheid, only worse].
Life in Gaza under Israel’s blockade
While these shocking atrocities are happening, the United States under both Republican and Democrat Administrations, have suppressed dissent and used its veto power in the United Nations to protect Israel from facing war crimes in the Hague. By virtue of this special treatment, Israel continues to commit war crimes and thumbs its nose at international laws. The very institutions created by the United States after the second world war have been weakened as member states watch Israel do what it wants without consequence. Some member states have decided they will not subject themselves to the dictates of the UN, further eroding the rule of law across the globe. The question now is how long will Israel be allowed to have one set of rules for itself, while the rest of the world has to live by another?
A correctional officer at an immigrant detention center in Rhode Island drove a pickup truck into a crowd of protesters late Wednesday night, injuring several people, the protesters said. Videos of the confrontation show the truck turning toward a line of seated protesters who were blocking the entrance to a parking lot at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls. People immediately jumped up, shouting while the driver honked his horn.
The truck paused for a moment as the protesters gathered around ― and then the vehicle tried to drive straight through the crowd before stopping again. Minutes later, additional officers arrived and used pepper spray on the protesters, clearing enough space for the truck to pass through.

We’re putting our bodies on the line because we see the camps and the roundups. We’ve learned from our ancestors: NEVERAGAINFORANYONE.
Natalie Lerner, a 23-year-old Jewish activist from Providence, Rhode Island, told HuffPost that she was in the line of the vehicle when it first approached. “I was kneeling down to talk to one of the other people who was sitting to get arrested and he got this look of fear,” Lerner recalled. “I turned around and this car was right behind me, coming right toward me.” At least five people were treated at a hospital for minor injuries sustained during the confrontation and the ensuing scramble, Lerner said. An older woman was pepper-sprayed at “incredibly close range,” she said.
Protesters said the person driving the pickup truck was a correctional officer employed by the Wyatt Detention Facility. Lerner said she and other protesters were frightened ― and angered ― by officers’ actions during the incident. “If this is how you’re treating us, a group of mostly white, mostly citizens who aren’t in prison, who are out in the open, how are you treating people on the inside?” she asked. HuffPost has reached out to the Wyatt Detention Facility, the Central Falls Police Department and ICE for comment.
Wednesday’s protest was part of Never Again Action, a movement by young, progressive Jews who believe saying “Never again” to the horrors of the Holocaust means speaking up about the U.S. government’s current treatment of migrants. Since early July, these activists have been organizing protests at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement centers across the country, including in Boston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and San Francisco.
The activists are calling on Congress to shut down ICE, close the detention centers, and offer “freedom and permanent protection for all undocumented immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers.” The Wyatt Detention Facility is a “publicly owned and privately operated” correctional facility, according to its website. It began housing ICE detainees in March, 10 years after a migrant’s death there put a temporary end to the practice. Eighteen people were arrested during an earlier Never Again Action protest at the facility on July 2. Lerner said that hundreds of protesters, some with Never Again Action and others from local immigration advocacy groups, gathered at the detention center on Wednesday. They tried to deliver a letter to the warden demanding more transparency at the facility. When no one came out to meet with them, Lerner said the group decided to “shut down Wyatt,” first by blocking the entrance to the facility and then by blocking the staff parking lot. “We were sending the message that if folks in immigrant detention can’t get home to see their families, people who are aiding and abetting that can’t go home to see their families,” she said.
The individuals who sat on the ground at the parking lot entrance had willingly signed up to risk arrest during an act of civil disobedience, according to Lerner, who helped lead training for the demonstration. She said protesters were given guidance on what to do if police used force during an arrest and how to deescalate the situation if a bystander tried to start a fight. People who weren’t willing to risk arrest were told to stay back and not interact with police. But Lerner said none of the activists expected they would be facing down a moving vehicle. “Having something like a car barreling towards you and not stopping when you’re peacefully protesting is a totally terrifying experience,” Lerner said. “We were not anticipating really anybody, but especially an employee of the Wyatt, to drive a car through the protest.” Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo (D) expressed “outrage” about the incident on Thursday. She said Rhode Island’s state police will investigate the incident. “President Trump’s immigration policies are immoral, and these Rhode Islanders were exercising their constitutional right to protest,’’ the governor said.
Gina Raimondo@GovRaimondoI share the outrage Rhode Islanders are feeling about the incident depicted in the video at the Wyatt Detention Center. Our state and our nation were built on the idea that everyone has a right to express their opinion publicly and peacefully.
The Rhode Island attorney general’s office has also said it is investigating the incident. “Peaceful protest is a fundamental right of all Americans; it is unfortunate last night’s situation unfolded as it did. We urge all to exercise restraint as our investigation proceeds,” the office said in a statement on Thursday. The confrontation has left Never Again Action even more determined to stand up against ICE, Lerner said. “It was totally unacceptable what happened, and it’s pretty clear to me that we will continue protesting Wyatt and continue protesting what ICE is doing here in Rhode Island and beyond,” Lerner said. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/pickup-truck-never-again-ice-rhode-island_n_5d5574fde4b0eb875f2044f0
Those who champion America and the western world’s support for the [Apartheid state of Israel], generally argues that Israel is the only Democracy in that neighborhood.[sic]
(Democracy)
A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections. By that assertion, the term [democracy] is subject to the interpretation of the person or group claiming democracy, as the Palestinian people living under the bootheels of Israel has no say electorally, what Israel does to them. America’s heavy financial and other support for the apartheid state is seemingly rooted in something far more unspoken or sinister than the average person understands. Those who speak out at Israel’s genocide and crimes against humanity put themselves at tremendous risks. Speaking out against Israel is likely to get one ostracized, imprisoned or worse. For daring to take any protest action against the apartheid state, Americans will risk prison, if Democrats and Republicans alike get their way. People across the globe who care about humanity must be clear that both Republicans and Democrats have supported and drafted legislation criminalizing Americans who would boycott the apartheid state. A bipartisan Senate bill would make boycotting Israel punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are two Muslim US Representatives, both are part of the so-called Squad of four first-term US Congresswomen, who have been singled out for the ire of the bully-in-chief for their progressive policies and their opposition to Israel’s treatment of the Palestinian people. The other two members are Massachusetts US Representative Ayanna Presley and New York’s Alexandria Ocasio Cortes rounding out the quartet. Trump lambasted the four telling them to go back to where they came from, arguing, that they came from broken countries which needed their assistance. The ignoramus, while glowing in the racist chant (send them back), of his equally moronic and racist supporters, had no idea that all but Ilhan Omar were born in the United States. All are US citizens, as they have to be, to sit in the congress. Both Tlaib and Omar were slated to visit Israel as part of a trip organized by a longtime Palestinian lawmaker Hanan Ashrawi.
According to the New York Times; Ms. Omar had been scheduled to arrive on Sunday for a tour of the West Bank, partly under the auspices of an organization headed by a longtime Palestinian lawmaker, Hanan Ashrawi, that was expected to highlight Palestinian grievances over the Israeli occupation. The women were planning to visit the West Bank cities of Hebron, Ramallah and Bethlehem, as well as Israeli-annexed East Jerusalem, according to Ms. Ashrawi, including a visit to the Al Aqsa Mosque, a hotly contested and volatile holy site. Most of the delegation was expected to depart on Aug. 22, but Ms. Tlaib had been planning to stay on to visit relatives in the West Bank.
Benjamin Netanyahu
Israel has denied the two law-makers access to the apartheid state after Donald Trump tweeted; It would show great weakness if Israel allowed Rep. Omar and Rep.Tlaib to visit. They hate Israel & all Jewish people, & there is nothing that can be said or done to change their minds. Minnesota and Michigan will have a hard time putting them back in office. They are a disgrace! On the question of disgrace, this has got to be the greatest act of projection ever, imagine the disgrace that this moron is actually in the white house? Nevertheless, the greatest tragedy is that the apartheid state of Israel which exist with the largess of American taxpayers, has demonstrated that Israel is the actual head of the American Government. The fact that a foreign Government that literally lives off the tax dollars of Americans, and in particular African-Americans tax dollars, would refuse access to two women of color, shows the level of power that American politicians have given to this nation they created in 1948. Republicans brought Netanyahu a [war criminal] into the country to address a joint sitting of the Congress during President Obama’s tenure. Democrats who had the option of boycotting the sitting, sat there and cheered as the disgusting racist disrespected the sitting American President.
The arrogance of Benjamin Netanyahu is palpable. A racist moron like the occupant of the white house, Netanyahu has consistently belittled African people calling them [infiltrators] who would effectively change the makeup of the apartheid state from its white majority, a view shared by Donald Trump and his supporters in the Republican party. (see Trumps’ immigration & abortion policies) Unfortunately, the so-called Evangelical movement of which the Black church is a part, (though segregated from each other) share the nonsensical view that Israel is supposedly a place ordained by the God of the Bible and that the white people living there who ran from Germany’s Adolph Hitler, are somehow God’s chosen people. Chosen for what I do not know? However, the appropriation of the Hebrew faith by the Germans who had adopted the faith, has got to be the greatest identity theft ever perpetrated in the history of mankind. That a people who genetically have no ties to the region can claim that [they] have a right to land stolen and given to them, is one of the travesties of modern times. If this is the way the God of the Bible operates, I want no part of that God. However, we know that like the apartheid state of South Africa, every wrong will be righted. The God of my life guarantees that, of that, they can be assured.
Former member of the JCF, Clive Peck, who was serving on a United Nation’s mission in Lybia, lost his life over the weekend in an alleged bomb blast. Mister Peck was working to bring some semblance of peace to a country [Lybia], that the United States disrupted and laid bare. This publication honors the service and sacrifice of our dearly departed former colleague. Having said that, I could not help noticing that at least one of the two major local newspaper (JamaicaGleaner.com) carried the story of mister Peck’s untimely passing. After all, it is not every day that a Jamaican gives his life in service to others in faraway countries, for people they do not know. Jamaican police officers toil in obscurity at home without recognition and without receiving their just due. However, when they die in service overseas, we expect to see them receive the goddamn respect and recognition they deserve from the highest executive office. And they deserve to be recognized as members of the Organization which molded and honed them, the (JCF). And yes Prime Minister Andrew Holness this may come as news to you but the JCF has produced noble men and women of distinction, even if your prejudices and biases has clouded your vision. Of course, the kind of character which motivates Jamaicans like Detective Peck is lost on far too many Jamaicans who are incapable of grasping the sacrifice which goes into such service. Most heroes who do, are motivated by much more than financial remunerations. It was troubling to me that nowhere in the Gleaner Article was there a mention of the fact that Clive Peck was a former member of the JCF. Why was that not mentioned by anyone? Do they so hate the JCF that they envy the very thought of giving respect to the agency when they lose a member, present or former?
GLEANERSTORY
[The Government and the parliamentary Opposition yesterday lauded the work of Clive Peck, the Jamaican man who was one of two United Nations (UN) peacekeepers killed in a bomb blast in Libya on the weekend. Jamaica Foreign Minister Kamina Johnson Smith said Peck served the UN with distinction and devoted his life to a mission of aiding the Libyan people in the midst of one of the most severe conflicts and humanitarian crises in the world. “It is indeed a sad moment, but we take pride in his courage and service”, Johnson Smith told The Gleaner. She revealed, too, that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had attested to “Mr. Peck’s courage, service, and dedication to the goals of the United Nations”. “The tragic loss of Mr. Peck is acutely felt by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Government of Jamaica in its entirety,” Johnson Smith said. She disclosed that she had spoken personally to Peck’s wife, Lelieth, and conveyed sympathies on behalf of her ministry and the entire government. Opposition Leader Dr. Peter Phillips described Peck as a Jamaican who was committed to the global mission of peace and service to humanity. “I pray God’s comfort for his family, friends, and colleagues,” Phillips said in a statement. Lisa Hanna, the opposition spokesperson on foreign affairs, suggested that Peck and the other UN peacekeepers who were killed be always remembered.“They were there seeking peace in the world,” Hanna said. “It’s really, really tragic that one of our nationals suffered this way, especially in keeping with what he was doing at that particular time –trying to keep the peace,” she added. But the Opposition spokesperson said she was proud that a Jamaican was seeking to achieve peace across the world “and I hope that gives the family some comfort in this devastating time that we all face”. ]
JDF soldiers save female student
Last week the Prime Minister was on social media lauding members of the JDF who rushed a young lady having a panic attack to the hospital. The Prime Minister chimed in, quote ( “I must commend the work of the Jamaica Defence Force in producing noble men and women of distinction”). Ever partial to my beloved JCF, and knowing the sacrifices made over the decades by so many police officers, for an ingrate nation no less, including payingthe ultimate price, I lashed out at the prime Minister for what I thought was a clear case of selective praise for one branch of the security forces. Respect to the JDF, but as one commenter opined, “Taxi man do dat ebery day Mike” Sure, those members of the JDF deserved a pat on the back, but the police have been doing this and so much more, it is wrong.
So I did not mince words. Me: This is such bullshit pandering to one branch of the security forces, for doing exactly what they are trained to do. The police force has been doing this for decades, some paying the ultimate price in the process, many have been shot and are now wheelchair bound, others like myself have been shot defending people like you hypocrites I don’t even know. You people are such a bunch of hypocrites, frauds and fakes.. I cannot believe I ever supported this guy who has been working to drive a wedge between the security forces since he took office, all for political reasons.
My response may have been cringe-worthy even by social media standards. Even so, I stand by every word of that retort. This officer and his family deserved recognition, not from lower rungs of the Government. His passing deserves national recognition from the highest elected office-holder. He was in Lybia, not on his own, but as a representative of the Jamaican Government. Holness cannot allow biases and personal prejudices to impact how he carries out the functions of the Prime Minister of Jamaica.
UPDATE
Since we called out the Government on this, both daily newspapers have carried stories of the JCF paying homage to the deceased mister Peck and indeed naming him as a distinguished member of that agency. Jamaica house is still silent. This writer and this medium will continue to chastise members of the JCF when they err, but we will stand front and center with members of that agency in recognition of the service they provide to the people of Jamaica. Even when their political bosses are too low-class to do so.

Is it just me or does anyone recall when the average person who used patios^ (patwa) was looked down upon by the people who live above Cross Roads? Remember when that part of Jamaica, the borjouise, sneered at the fact that the vast majority of the Jamaican people were unable to speak fluent English, and were only able to express themselves in their native patwa? I don’t know about you, but I recall full well how those infidels disrespected the average person for being what they characterized as dunce, because they were only able to speak the dialect. As a young police officer, I recall their disdain for the cops who they deemeed beneath them because they spoke Patwa. In their fake uptown accents, they would ask me sometimes “where were you trained”? Because I sometimes humored them by speaking the so-called queen’s English. Little did they know how repulsed I was by their attempts to pander to me. Now if you remember how they hated patwa, then focus now on their utter disdain when we cut a few[bombo claat].
Cooper
The worst transgressors were the ones who had tread the corridors of academia, the UWI in particular. That most leftist clique which had just emerged from the dormancy of their status as the Lumpen proletariat and was now the new face of the intelligentsia, progressive and in charge. Flushed with their newfound power and freedom from the shackles of colonial domination, they were the new sheriff in town, they would decide standards, good and bad. If you ever wondered what that face looked like, look no further than the Jezebel Carolyn Cooper. But it is far from Cooper the iconoclast alone, who have been hell-bent on the destruction of our revered culture. There is now a whole slew of others who also have traversed those same corridors, who were supposed to come out educated in the true sense of the word, but for all intents and purposes seem to have gone in like johnny cake and came out like dumpling.
So patwa was the language spoken by the underclass, uneducated peasantry, and for a while, that was the status quo because the bourgeoise said so. Until they decided that since the Jamaican culture had become a thing, a thing of interest to other people in other parts of the world all of a sudden like wild horses the UWI crowd is now in a dead race to be seen as a catalyst for all things patwa.Collouquiolism and coarseness is supposed to be the new standard, simply because they say so, because they are now comfortable for it to be so. But we know that these frauds were the very ones turning up their noses at this dialect and the people who speak it, not out of desire, but because it was all they could muster.
Haughton
Yesterday I wrote about the young upstart Senator Andrea Haughton of the PNP who had his feelings hurt because the police had appropriately pulled the plug on a reggae show in which expletives were being used. Obviously this little emperor in the making, must have been at the show when it was stopped and felt powerless that his status as an esteemed senator and a Doctor to boot, were not enough to cause the police to cower at his very presence. And, knowing the Jamaican police they probably would have cowered had he intervened, if past is prologue. He now tells local media that he wants to revisit the (town and community act), because our supposed bad words are not bad words at all. As if he doesn’t know that the words themselves are not bad, but the negative connotations we attach to them which determines their inappropriateness and coarseness. (Or does he)? True to form, UWI Professor Emerita Carolyn Cooper, has thrown her support behind the Haughton idea, claiming (“Jamaican bad words have a quite respectable pedigree. They usually refer to perfectly good female body parts and functions. But the language of these bad words is often of African origin. So it’s almost impossible for some of us to fully appreciate the explosive power of a big, fat, bad word. It’s positive energy, not just negative. But we can’t see that. We’re still trapped in damning stereotypes about our culture.” )
Reverting to my own colloquial schooling, I am tempted to point out just how flies tend to follow shit wherever it is? This was the same woman who brought now convicted murderer Vybz Kartel into the supposed epic-center of higher learning [sic], the UWI to give lectures. These are the very same supposed experts and cultural icons who want to turn over our children to the teachings of homosexuality and other acts of immorality under a faux canopy of cultural progressiveism . Instead of being leaders of intellectual thought, these charlatans have positioned themselves as infidels and instruments of degeneracy. They are dangerous, and a detriment to our society and its existence as a functioning place for people to live and raise their families. And all for the sake of cheap thrills and a forward as the dance-hall would say. Look for this to gather steam as Jamaica has decidedly embarked on a path toward degeneracy. Its leaders have convinced themselves that cheap popularity is far more valuable than maintaining cultural norms which have made us uniquely Jamaica. Further advancing the hedonistic, and lascivious shell of our former selves that we have become.

People’s National Party Senator,Andre Haughton a young and upcoming star of that political party has decided that his contribution to nation-building will be to further erode standards of decency and decorum. Haughton believes that penalizing dancehall artistes for cursing during their performances is outdated and in some way villifying words which other countries find unique and entertaining about Jamaica’s culture. Speaking to local media enteties the up and coming national leader who has a [Dr]. beside his name insists, “There are a lot of people who these words don’t affect in a negative or positive way. If a man seh ‘b****cl**t eediat’ is not the b****cl**t doing the harm is the eediat, if a man seh ‘f*****g fool’, is the fool that have the impact. It’s words like corruption and eediat that are the bad words.”
In making his argument for the normalizing of more courseness in the society, the senator pointed to the July, Reggae Sumfest’s Dancehall Night which was halted by police due to profanity during the performance of deejay Javillani. In the past, hip hop artiste Nicki Minaj was fined at that show for using b**c**t on stage during her performance. The term bad-word has been affixed to certain terminologies within the Jamaican colloquial vernacular for as long as our country has existed as an independent nation or longer. These words are not part of any dictionary, but are words put together to drive home a point when we Jamaicans want to express a range of emotions. Over the years they have been used when we are happy, sad, angry, fraustrated, excited or experiencing any other feeling within the range of emotions we may be experiencing at any particular time. For example, the word [blood], is a part of the english language. So too is [cloth], pieced together [blood-cloth], or rather the colloquialized version [bloodclaat], is a novelty to foreigners who like everything about our culture. In the United States, there are terms which are deemed not to be proper language, so too is it in Canada, England ‚as well as other nations. Though these terms are used loosely in the streets, as the so-called bad words are uesd unsparingly in Jamaica, yet standing before a American judge, or dealing with the police would not be a good time to be reffering to them as a [motherfucker]. There is a reason certain guard-rails are in place, which this young senator would be wise to first be educated on, before he goes charging forward like a bull in a china shop.
Andre Haughton
There are strong points of views on this subject from both sides. Do these words really harm anyone, I guess there is a strong argument to be made that at face value they don’t? Nevertheless, there is the question of whether they do anything to advance decorum, particularly in public spaces, the very place this senator wants them to be freed up? What’s more, it seems that these younger politicians are more interested in [an anything-goes strategy] which would open Jamaica up as a place where one could feel free to go and do whatever they please and once done, go back to their respective countries of law and order. That Hedonistic approach is seen as a means toward attracting more visitors and inexorably more foreign money regardless of the harm it does to our country. This senator seems a willing schill for the dancehall industry, he says he and a team intend to go through the Town and Communities Act to decide the next move to get things in motion. He urges Jamaicans to embrace what is their profitable culture.
The police have a duty to enforce the laws. Police officers have to be discretionary gauges with their ears primed for [triggers]. Those triggers, sometimes determine whether an event is about to go south pretty fast. If not addressed immediately, those events may deteriorate rapidly, resulting in greater problems for themselves and the wider community, particularly, in situations in which large groups of people are gathered and alcohol has been consumed. At a time when crime and lawlessness are at all time highs, it is regretful that these upstarts want to create more leverage for more crime and lawlessness rather than arresting those negative traits.
The idea that words are not bad is an infantile concept which this much vaunted Doctor ought to be conversant of. True to form however, he is demonstrating that having knowledge in one area does not mean smart in another. Freedom of speech is essential. Nevertheless we must be cognizant that our freedom to say what we feel has consequence. That is the reason we do not shout [bomb] on an airplane or in a crowded theater. That is the reason we do not go up to a cop and shout gun, that could get you killed. In the United States traffic stops are used to stem the flow of illegal guns and drugs across states lines. Through the use of traffic stops untold amounts of drugs and illegal guns are confiscated and suspects arrested each year, countless lives are saved as a result. All because officers stay vigilant and observe traffic violations. The police should be able to use a strengthened Town and community act to tamp down certain behaviors, potentially saving lives in the process. What they do not need is for some upstart seeking a hype to create more havoc in the society.
Of all of the difficulties facing the nation, this is the issue this wunderkind has come up with toward nation-building. It is nearly impossible to get some of our people to think critically. Does the use of these terms physically hurt anyone? The answer is no! What are the benefits of legislating further coarseness into a country which is already unnecessarily coarse? This does absolutely nothing to to enhance Jamaica’s image. It is one more attempt to turn over the last bastions of decency or normalcy to the retrograde hedonism many crave. Here is a situation in which law-enforcement correctly ended a show because the laws were being breached and a moronic upstart decides he wants to change the laws to usurp the authority of the police. If this is an indicator of what the PNP has to offer, the nation will be in for a whole lot of hurt because the governing JLP is doing as much harm to our established norms as this upstart would.

To the many Jamaicans who held out hope that there is the possibility of a return to the sanity, peace, and tranquility of the 60s and early 70s, it is time to move along. For others like myself who came of age in the 80s, who lived through the relative peace of that period, it is time for us to move along also. Sure, I understand the trauma and the sense of loss we feel at the idea that our beloved Jamaica of yesteryear is only now a figment of our imagination.…. blurs of memory, of a time when our innocence was bliss.
It was a time when everyone parented everyone’s kids. Mostly everyone was poor, but it was no big deal, we were all basically the same. Children played without fear of being kidnapped and murdered, in fact, they had no idea what that was. Young girls lived without fear of being raped. In that Jamaica, friends were actual friends, not gang associates. There was no internet or cable television to alert us to trappings of modernity we did not need. There was no internet, no cable television, and no smartphones. It was a simpler time, a time of less greed, less envy. Most of all, with the exception of parts of Kingston, guns were something we only read about. And so as I snapback from my nostalgic stupor, I remind myself, as I caution you to, do not waste any more of your lives in despair, hoping for a time, which shall never return.
We have to face the fact that the people who made Jamaica what it was then, are with us no more. It was never about how nice the place was, that has never been in question. Sure the water is blue and the sand is white, the land is fertile and the air is cool. Sure we took pride in what we did in school, and we sometimes played the fool, now its time to wake up and wipe away the drool. There is a new mentality, new leadership, new values, or should I saw a lack thereof? Right is wrong and wrong is right. It is now a country in which drug lords are revered, celebrated and lionized. Reggae artistes who are gunrunners and heads of criminal gangs are normalized with national honors. Our Jamaica is a country which makes it legal for someone to simply build a house on any parcel of land, remain there for a certain period of time and they are automatically the owners of that land. Some believe that those who make the laws do not understand that allowing that to happen, creates untold problems. But they miss the obvious that they do understand. They are well-thought-out misappropriation policies, by the criminals in the parliament, to repay their supporters for their votes. A look around the Kingston Metropolitan area, as well as the city of Montego Bay, or any other municipality for that matter, and the zinc and plyboard communities which have been allowed to develop is a testament to those realities. The diminished and now non-existent sense of morality and values which once characterized our country, has been replaced with greed, envy, hatred, and lascivious indulgence. Rather than lift up and celebrate teachers, social workers, police officers and other public servants who toil endlessly to make our country better, the nation’s leaders conspire to elevate the worst elements from within, with the express intent of capitalizing from the cheap returns. National honors are rendered worthless, squandered and diminished, not worth the material they are made from, by the quality of the individuals on whom they are bestowed. It sickens me to my stomach to see what Jamaica has come to. How the very people who have been the worst actors, those who should be the very epitome of our scorn and derision are celebrated and elevated. And still, we wonder why our youth see the gun as a means to power, recognition, respect, and fame. From what we have seen in the Jamaica of today, the gun is a means to power, recognition, respect, and fame. Our country has sunken to a new low and for that, we should all hang our heads in shame. Instead, we continue to lie to ourselves that Jamaica nice.

Long before Donald Trump ever emerged on the political landscape with his racism, xenophobia, Misigoyny and religious bigotry against Mexicas, Blacks, Muslims, women, and foreigners from countries he deemed shithole countries, there was Patrick Buchanan. Before Buchanan, there was George Wallace, and millions of other retarded thinkers like them. Most importantly the fuel which keeps the fire of racism going in America is the ignorance of roughly half of its white population. Changing racial demographics evokes a mortal fear in that part of the population, who are now scared shitless that a majority-minority population will (a) remove from them their white privilege and (b) hold them accountable for their own, and the sins of their fathers.
The concentration camps holding Latino and Black immigrants seeking asylum and the attempts to water down and ultimately roll back (Roe v Wade) are two distinct attempts to halt and roll back the browning of America. The killing and mass incarceration of Black men and women must also be seen as an integral part of that strategy to retain white supremacy in America. Recently revealed tapes of a conversation between then California Governor Ronald Reagan and the President at the time, Richard Nixon, is proof, at least to my mind, that they are resentful of any power in the hands of black people. The ascendency of Barack Obama to the Presidency was critical mass for this retrograde population. There is simmering angst in America which exist among the white population, or some segments at least. Their sense of losing what they characterize as [their country] is real. They feel real grievance from their perception that others, [immigrants] and Blacks, successes, wherever they exist, are occurring at their expense. This sense of victimhood has created a fertile space for the fomentation of violent anti-immigrant hatred. That hatred has been costing the lives of Black, Jewish, Hispanic, Muslim lives all across America every single day. Instead of calling it what it is the Media Houses, including CNN and others convene silly town hall discussions to talk about suicides, gun-control, mental-issues and everything they can come up with to deflect from the reality that [white terrorism in America is a thing]. According to the [BussinessInsider.com]US counties where Donald Trump held a campaign rally saw a 226% increase in reported hate crimes compared to similar counties that did not hold a rally, political scientists at the University of North Texas said in a Washington Post analysis. That is the heart of the matter.
Years ago, Patrick Buchanan wrote:” Mexico has taken back the entire western states without firing a single shot”. Pat Buchanan.…. “We have accepted today the existence in perpetuity of a permanent underclass of scores of millions who cannot cope and must be carried by society — fed, clothed, housed, tutored, medicated at taxpayer’s expense their entire lives. We have a dependent nation the size of Spain in our independent America. We have a new division in our country, those who pay a double or triple fare, and those who ride forever free”.— Suicide of a Superpower Pat Buchanan ”[W]hite America is an endangered species. By 2020, whites over 65 will out-number those 17 and under. Deaths will exceed births. The white population will begin to shrink and, should present birth rates persist, slowly disappear”.— Suicide of a Superpower Pat Buchanan According to [MediaMatters], Even Richard Nixon found the views of his former speechwriter, Buchanan, too extreme on the segregation issue. According to a John Ehrlichman memo referenced in Nicholas Lemann’s “The Promised Land,” Nixon characterized Buchanan’s views as “segregation forever.” After Nixon was reelected, Buchanan warned his boss not to “fritter away his present high support in the nation for an ill-advised governmental effort to forcibly integrate races.” [Salon.com, 9/4/99]
Pat Buchanan paved the way for Donald Trump
ESSAY
In a July 2016 essay titled Will, the West Survive the Century? Pat Buchanan wrote the following. “Nativism … xenophobia or worse” is behind the triumph of Brexit and the support for Donald Trump, railed President Barack Obama in Ottawa. Obama believes that resistance to transformational change in the character and identity of countries of the West, from immigration, can only be the product of sick minds or sick hearts. According to The New York Times, he will spend the last months of his presidency battling “the nativism and nationalism” of Trump and “Britain’s Brexiteers.” Prediction: Obama will fail. For rising ethnonationalism and militarization of frontiers is baked in the cake, if the West wishes to remain the West. Behind that prediction lie the startling figures of the U.N.’s “World Population 2015” chart, which just arrived. Consider but a few of those figures. Between now and 2050, Europe will lose 32 million people. Not one European nation has a fertility rate — 2.1 children per woman — sufficient to keep it alive. A quarter of all Europeans are 60 or older. The tribes that created the West are passing away. Contrast Europe with Africa, just across the Mediterranean. Between now and 2050, Africa will add 1.3 billion people, to reach 2.4 billion in 2050. Then its population will double again, to 4.4 billion, by 2100. Only 5 percent of Africans are 60 or older, while 41 percent of Africans are 15 or younger. Given the tyranny, destitution, and disease that afflict Africa, what — other than barriers, border guards and warships — is there to stop tens of millions of young African men from crossing over in coming decades to fill the empty spaces left by dying Europeans? The Arab-Muslim population of North Africa alone, from the western Sahara and Morocco to Egypt and Sudan, will add 130 million people in 35 years. Egypt will add 60 million, to reach a population of 151 million by 2050. Yet Egypt will still have only the fifth-highest population of Muslims, behind Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India. While impossible to find a Western country with a fertility rate that will prevent its native-born people from dying off, it is difficult to find a Muslim country that does not boast a rising or exploding population. If the future belongs to the young, it belongs to Asians, Africans, and Latin Americans, and it belongs to Islam. Eastern Europe presents the grimmest picture in Europe. Between now and 2050, Poland will lose 5 million people; Ukraine almost 10 million; and Russia 15 million. Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia will see one-sixth of their combined population disappear. Such losses are comparable to those of World War II. In percentage terms, Ukraine will suffer most. By midcentury, its population will have shrunk by 21 percent, to 35 million. Is this not a graver matter than whose flag flies over Crimea? The bleakest prospects belong to Japan, home to some of the most capable, industrious and advanced people on earth. Between now and 2050, Japan will lose 19 million people and see its population fall to 107 million. A third of the nation is already 60 or older. Only 1 in 7 Japanese are under 16. Japanese are the oldest people on earth. In coming decades, a large slice of Japan’s population will be working to support health care, pensions and welfare for the aged, infirm and dying. And the United States? With Mexico and Central America adding 56 million people in 35 years, either the U.S. secures its southern border or the 11 – 12 million immigrants here illegally will have millions of new compatriots. America is already evolving into another country. Though the U.S. is projected to grow by 67 million people in 35 years, this growth will be wholly among Hispanics, Asians, and African-Americans. In each of the past four years, non-Hispanic white Americans have registered more deaths than births. Between July 2014 and July 2015, the Asian-American population grew by 3.4 percent, and the Hispanic population grew 2.2 percent. The black population was up 1.3 percent. But the white population grew by only 0.1 percent. White America has begun to die. Can Obama really believe that amnesty for undocumented immigrants is still in the cards with a Republican Congress scorched by the forces behind Trump? Can he believe that the right-wing parties proliferating across Europe, which see their nations imperiled by a rising tide of Muslim immigrants and refugees, will pack it in and support the EU’s march to a transnational superstate that controls immigration and borders? What has been tabled for discussion this year, in Europe and America, is the future of the West as an identifiable civilization to be cherished and defended by the peoples whose ancestors created it. And Obama’s reverence for Islam notwithstanding, the West remains the greatest civilization of them all. Belatedly, Western Man appears to have decided to defend the shire, pull up the drawbridge, and man the parapets on the castle walls. As for Trumpism and the Brexiteers, Mr. President, in the words of Jimmy Durante, “you ain’t seen nothing yet.”
Welcome to America
The African American population is greater than that of Canada’s. In fact, the African-American population, according to the 2010 census, was 42 million as opposed to Canada’s population of just over 37 million. Yet Canada is a big powerful progressive country. African American’s spending power of 1.5 trillion dollars annually, far exceeds that of many European countries gross domestic product. Yet African-Americans are afraid to take charge and own their country, opting instead to cower in fear at white aggression and bullying tactics, which are born of their own fears and trepidation.
Latinos and Hispanics surpassed African-Americans as the single largest minority group in the country about a decade ago, with a population now estimated to be at 52 million. This information is in the public domain for everyone to see if they so choose. Pat Buchanan’s essay on the subject brings the issue into sharp synoptic focus, even if one disagrees with the idea behind the essay per se. The rapid increase in a) violent white extremism, and the proliferation of white hate groups since President Barack Obama ascended to the presidency, b) the proliferation of white extremist violence against minority groups is in no way divorced from the silence of the Republican Party even at the most egregious incitement to violence by Donald Trump. There is an incessant stream of daily racist invective released into the airwaves by FOX and the network of talk radio stations which feed the willing and gullible, a doomsday scenario for the white race as articulated by Pat Buchanan and others.
Representative Steve King from Iowa’s 4th congressional district has a history of making what some consider racist comments and retweeting racists conspiracy theorists garbage. But, King’s behavior is not an anomaly, other than sometimes being too far out over his skis, Steve King’s position is a feature and not a bug to the average white. Most if not all present-day Republicans feel exactly the same way and so too do some white Democrats. The Republican party has all but fully purged itself of all pretense of inclusion. All of the blacks except Tim Scott, the South Carolina US Senator are gone. Texas CongressmanWill Hurd has decided he will not run for reelection in 2020. The party of white men is not even attractive to white women as most of the women in the party are now gone.
If the killings are anything to go by, the white man may have decided to take Pat Buchanan’s words literally. The Western Man appears to have decided to defend the shire, pull up the drawbridge, and man the parapets on the castle walls. I say except much more violence, much, much more. A wounded animal is a dangerous animal.
GALVESTON, Texas — The Galveston Police Department is apologizing for the way officers arrested a man over the weekend in downtown Galveston. The department says two officers arrested a 43-year-old man for criminal trespass at 306 22nd Street. The man was handcuffed and a rope was clipped to the handcuffs before he was led to walk down the street by the two officers on horseback.
Police say he was being led to 21st Street and Market Street where the Mounted Patrol Unit was staging from. A photo of the arrest was taken and shared on social media. It shows the man walking between the horses and the officers with his hands behind his back and one of the officers holding the blue rope. “While this technique of using mounted horses to transport a person during an arrest is considered a best practice in certain scenarios, such as during crowd control, the practice was not used correctly in this instance.” the department said.
Editors note.. New Information from the arrested man’s family revealed that he is mentally ill and homeless. One of the reasons for the outrage is the still raw scabs of racism in which black people remember their ancestors, shackled and dragged behind horses ridden by white men who had kidnapped them.
The savage on the left massacred 20 innocent people, injured dozens more, for absolutely no reason other than he hated them. He was arrested without even being ordered to the ground. The man on the right was selling cigarettes to feed his family. He was murdered in front of our eyes by police. Not a single one those murderers have been held accountable. Over and over and over he said “I can’t breathe”, the cop, Daniel Pantaleo did not relent until Eric Garner was dead.
Memorials now line the streets of Dayton, Ohio,’s historic Oregon District, just one day after a masked gunman shot and killed nine people early Sunday morning. CNN reports the shooter 24-year-old Connor Betts wore a bulletproof vest and hearing protection the night he stormed the popular nightlife district in downtown Dayton. In a span of 30 seconds, the gunman fatally shot his own sister and injured at least 27 others. Police killed Betts within 30 seconds of him opening fire, Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl told reporters.
“The officers immediately advanced toward the gunfire and within approximately 20 seconds, they engaged the suspect, who was actively firing and attempting to enter a crowded liquor establishment,” Biehl said, according to CNN. Most of the victims, whose ages ranged from 27 to 57 years old, were black. They include Lois Oglesby, Saeed Saleh, Derrick Fudge, Logan Turner, Nicholas Cumer, Thomas McNichols, Beatrice Warren-Curtis, Monica Brickhouse, and Megan Betts, the shooter’s sister. Dayton police said they didn’t yet have sufficient evidence suggesting racial bias in the shooting. CNN, citing law enforcement sources, says officials searched the gunman’s home and found writings expressing his interest in killing people. This was backed up by the Dayton Daily News, which interviewed several of Betts’ former classmates and reports the gunman was suspended from his high school for creating a “hit list” of students he wanted to kill (CNN reports that this list was separated by gender into a “kill” and “rape” list).
From the Dayton Daily News:
[A]cquaintances say the warning signs — signs of the shooter’s unusual obsession with killing and death — cropped up long ago.
“This isn’t a mystery to me,” said one middle school classmate. “I’m furious.”
The classmate, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the shooter once said he fantasized about tying her up and slitting her throat. The fetish was so macabre that even the shooter admitted he was scared of his thoughts, the woman recalled him saying.
… The woman said she and her parents told Bellbrook police about the bizarre admission, but the woman said she felt she wasn’t taken seriously, despite the would-be shooter including her on a hit list.
Despite this, the shooter was able to acquire an assault-style rifle from Texas, officials say.
Police recovered the rifle that was used in the shooting, [Chief] Biehl said. It was ordered online from Texas but transferred to the suspect at a local firearms dealer, the police chief said. Authorities also found a shotgun in the shooter’s 2007 Toyota Corolla, which was parked nearby. That weapon was acquired from a separate local firearms dealer, Biehl said.
“There’s nothing in this individual’s history or record that would have precluded him from purchasing that firearm,” Biehl said.
According to the Dayton Daily News, memorials now line East Fifth Street, where the mass shooting took place. The largest one is outside Ned Peppers Bar, where “candles, balloons, and handwritten notes” mark the place where the gunman began and ended his short rampage, the outlet writes. Other businesses on the street have posted the names of the victims on letter boards, and “Dayton Strong” messages were written on the sidewalks. During a vigil last night honoring the victims, attendees began shouting at Ohio Governor Mike DeWine as he gave remarks, chanting, “Do something! Do something!” According to the Gun Violence Archive, a nonprofit which tracks every mass shooting, there have been 251 mass shootings in 2019 — more mass shootings than days so far this year. I sound the alarm that there are judges who are not on the right side of the law. Police do very good investigations only to have criminal coddling judges turn criminals loose. (Hello, Chief Justice Bryan Sykes)
A Jamaican judge recently imposed a sentence of six years in prison at hard labor on Jeffrey Campbell, a St Catherine man who pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter for the stabbing deaths of 80-year-old returning resident Winnifred Williams and her 58-year-old son, Michael Williams. A Jamaican judge imposed recently imposed. The Islands Justice Minister, Delroy Chuck (an advocate for violent murderers), defended the judge’s slap on the wrist, arguing the following. “The six-year sentence imposed by the judge, coupled with the four and a half years Campbell spent in custody awaiting trial, meant that the convicted killer will serve a total of 10 and a half years for the crimes”. “Therefore, the sentence imposed is within the range of sentences that would normally be imposed for manslaughter. This is not an unusual sentence for manslaughter.”
Delroy Chuck’s brand of justice is all about the welfare of criminals and feel-good numbers on stats sheets. The lives of victims are not a factor in Jamaica’s justice system.
Before addressing this criminal supporting embarrassment posing as a minister of justice, first, let me say that the general outcry from the public is not ridiculous. What is crazy is that the system designed by Delroy Chuck would have the power to ignore the pain and grief of those who lost their loved ones while kowtowing to the nation’s most violent monsters. There is an old Jamaican saying that where there is smoke, there is fire. So it is not exactly a mystery why the criminal coddling Delroy Chuck would rush to the defense of this pathetic judge. As a matter of fact, what Delroy Chuck has done is pave the way for the most violent murderers to receive a slap on the wrist. All they have to do is take responsibility for their actions. The stark reality is that Delroy Chuck’s contention that quote:” There is value in not “imposing a sentence that is most severe and at the harshest level” at times, “because persons who plead guilty have the opportunity to reform and go straight,” is a bunch of horse manure. These killers are not pleading guilty because they have any intention of going straight. They are doing so because they want to take advantage of the 50% off the already light sentence they would have received on conviction. To the criminal-loving Delroy Chuck, this end justifies the means, his brand of justice cares nothing about the victims and their families, or the trauma these killers leave in the communities. Which leaves us to ask, what is Delroy Chuck getting out of freeing these monsters back onto the streets?
A recent report revealed that a 16-year-old boy molested another boy sexually; he was arrested by the police and was promptly returned to the streets by the broken system. Last week the teen sociopath sexually assaulted a four-year-old boy, then cut that baby’s penis off then, stabbed him repeatedly, and left him to die like a piece of garbage. Had the system dealt adequately with this monster in the making, had the sicko posing as a judge done the due diligence, that monster would not have brought that pain to a little child. What kind of society are we creating when we allow double murderers to get out and continue with their lives after only a few years in prison? I’ll tell you; it is a society called Jamaica where the government’s focus is on the idea that rehabilitating violent murderers is a more appropriate course of action than securing the society from their predatory practices. The onus is on convicted murderers to prove to society that they have changed their ways and are deserving of a second chance into society. It is not incumbent on the society to make it easy for convicted murderers to get out of prison and then hope they will not return to killing innocent people. The broken system of justice in Jamaica favors both the PNP and JLP, which together created it to ensure that their members see no jail time for their own criminal activities. For years the justice system has been left to decay under the PNP even as its members pillaged the public coffers. The JLP is now at the tiller, and they, too, are engaged in theft, graft, and all kinds of corruption, even if not to the levels that the PNP has been. What is reprehensible is that there are moronic people on both sides of the political divide who (engage in what about-ism) on this subject. Your side did, it so my side is entitled to do too. Giving murderers half-off sentences which were way too mild, to begin with, is a really bad idea. It may have some favor in Jamaica because the country is fast becoming a hangout for murderers and other transnational criminals. Every Jamaican who claims to love Jamaica should be alarmed at what is happening in the name of justice by a single individual, Delroy Chuck.

“There is no defense, no rationalization, no suitable explanation for what my father said on that taped phone conversation,” Patti Davis wrote in The Washington Post.
The daughter of former President Ronald Reagan published an op-ed in The Washington Post on Thursday condemning her late father’s recently uncovered racist remarks and asking the public to forgive him. “There is no defense, no rationalization, no suitable explanation for what my father said on that taped phone conversation,” Patti Davis wrote about the newly released recording published Tuesday by The Atlantic.
Davis
The National Archives recently released audio of a private phone call from 1971 between Reagan, then the Republican governor of California, and then-President Richard Nixon. Reagan called United Nations delegates from African countries “monkeys” in the recording, reportedly referring to Tanzanian delegates dancing after the U.N. voted to recognize the People’s Republic of China, which Reagan opposed.
“To see those, those monkeys from those African countries,” he told Nixon in the audio. “Damn them, they’re still uncomfortable wearing shoes.” Davis, who has criticized the Republican Party under the Trump administration, wrote Thursday about moments in her childhood when she said her father pushed back against instances of racism and bigotry, claiming that he always taught his family to call out toxic beliefs. “But the words he used in his conversation with Nixon cannot be interpreted as anything but ugliness. That’s what makes this so painful,” she wrote. “Legacies are complicated, though, and for people to be judged fairly, the landscape of a lifetime has to be looked at.”
Though Davis said Reagan’s racist comment was an “aberration,” the former president, who died in 2004, has been criticized before for policies and promises rooted in racism. During his gubernatorial campaign in 1966, Reagan said, “If an individual wants to discriminate against Negroes or others in selling or renting his house, it is his right to do so.” Reagan is also credited with promoting the “welfare queen” stereotype, which paints black women as people who abuse taxpayer money for lazy lifestyles.
Legislation that disproportionately hurt marginalized communities also laid the groundwork for Reagan’s “War on Drugs.” The former president also blocked an anti-apartheid bill to impose sanctions on South Africa; the House voted to override his veto. Still, Davis wrote that while she tries to forgive her father for his racist remarks, her hope is that “others will forgive my father for words that should never have been uttered in any conversation.”
Newly released police body camera footage shows the final moments of an unarmed man’s life as he was pinned face-down on the ground by Dallas officers who mocked him when he appeared to fall unconscious instead of checking his pulse or making sure he was breathing. Tony Timpa, 32, died after his encounter with police on Aug. 10, 2016 ― a death later ruled homicide by a Dallas County medical examiner. Timpa had called authorities that night from the parking lot of an adult video store seeking help. He told a dispatcher that he had schizophrenia and had not taken his medication. An autopsy showed Timpa was high on cocaine at the time Body camera footage ― obtained by the Dallas Morning News and NBC-DFW after a lengthy legal battle with Dallas police — shows what happened next. The troubling footage, part of which was released Wednesday, shows officers arriving at the scene to find Timpa already in handcuffs. According to NBC-DFW, Timpa had been restrained by security guards after he attempted to run into traffic. As the officers approached Timpa, who was writhing on the ground, he yelled, “You’re going to kill me! You’re gonna kill me!” An officer pinned Timpa to the ground — his face in the grass and hands cuffed behind his back. NBC-DFW said the man was held in that position for 14 minutes. “Will you let me go please?” Timpa is heard pleading with the officers.
Timpa eventually becomes unresponsive. As the Morning News notes, the officers noticed Timpa’s sudden silence, but assumed he was asleep. Officers neither felt for his pulse nor checked whether he was breathing. Instead, the officers cracked jokes about waking Timpa up “for school” and about making him waffles and scrambled eggs for breakfast. “Tony, time for school, wake up!” one officer is heard saying. “I don’t want to go to school, mom,” another officer responds, mimicking the voice of a child. “Five more minutes, mom.” When paramedics arrived at the scene, they administered a sedative to Timpa and transferred him to an ambulance. “He didn’t just die down there, did he?” one officer says as an apparently unconscious Timpa is moved. “Hope I didn’t kill him.” Paramedics tell the officers that Timpa is not breathing. “He’s dead,” a paramedic says, pointing to Timpa in the ambulance. The county’s medical examiner, in ruling Timpa’s death a homicide, said the man died of sudden cardiac arrest caused by the effects of cocaine and the stress of physical restraint. In 2017, a grand jury indicted Sgt. Kevin Mansell and Officers Danny Vasquez and Dustin Dillard on a misdemeanor charge of deadly conduct, saying they’d “engaged in reckless conduct that placed Timpa in imminent danger of serious bodily injury.” Prosecutors, however, dismissed the charges in March. All three officers have since returned to active duty. A lawsuit filed by Timpa’s family against the city of Dallas, claiming the officers used excessive force, hasn’t been resolved. “He was expecting someone to help him, that’s why he called,” Timpa’s mother Vicki Timpa told CBS-DFW last year. “He wasn’t expecting several police to kill him.” A Dallas police spokesman told The Washington Post on Wednesday that because of “pending litigation … we are unable to comment on the actions of the officers.”
A newly released recording of a conversation from 1971 was the latest reminder of the long history of racism by American presidents.

Ronald Reagan was the governor of California in 1971 when he phoned the White House to vent his political frustration to President Richard M. Nixon and, according to a newly released audio recording, called African people “monkeys” in a slur that sparked laughter from the president of the United States. The previously undisclosed exchange took place after the United Nations voted to expel Taiwan in order to seat representatives from Beijing, a move that the United States opposed. Delegates from Tanzania celebrated with a victory dance in the General Assembly hall. “To see those monkeys from those African countries, damn them,” Reagan said, to laughter from Nixon. “They are still uncomfortable wearing shoes.” In other recordings, Nixon went on to recount his conversation with Reagan to others, describing the African delegates as “cannibals” as he sought to blame them for the United Nations vote.
“Reagan opens the door and Nixon runs with the racist tropes,” said Timothy Naftali, the former director of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum who requested the recording and wrote the article in The Atlantic. “This is not just a story about Reagan’s racism,” he said in an interview. “It’s also a reminder about how in the Oval Office, racism can beget racism” and “reveal latent racism in others.” The National Archives originally withheld part of the recording to protect Reagan’s privacy, said Mr. Naftali, who requested a full version last year. He said the timing of the release this month was a coincidence that offered important historical context. continue reading the story here: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/31/us/politics/ronald-reagan-richard-nixon-racist.html
THE COUNTRY’S JUSTICEMINISTERISANACTIVELOBBYISTFORTHEMOSTVIOLENTMURDERERS
In the system of justice, it is taught to all practitioners, [justice must not only be done but it must also appear to be done]. Cops, lawyers, judges and everyone else in the food chain of justice must be aware of that principle. When criminals are let off too lightly, the system becomes a joke as offenders, and would-be offenders see no deterrent in the laws against their worst instincts. Victims and their survivors are also apt to shy away from the system when they are convinced that it does not engage in the fair and equitable dispensation of justice. When this happens, criminals are emboldened to commit more crimes, and surviving victims of crime and their families are predisposed to taking the laws into their own hands. The result is chaos, and a breakdown of the system as we are witnessing in Jamaica today. Each and every aspect of the system of justice must work for equitable and just dispensation of justice. Yet in Jamaica, the existential crime epidemic is viewed as a failure of the police, which to my mind is intellectually dishonest and mentally lazy. One of the most glaring aspects of the breakdown of the system is the inconsistency and the less than adequate sentences meted out to violent felons. This breakdown is to be placed at the feet of one and only one segment of the justice dispensation process, judges. For years police officers and former police officers have complained profusely about the conduct of certain judges and the cavalier attitude with which they treat violent offenders. This writer, as a former police officer too, has had occasion to gasp at the incredulity of some of the decisions, as they make absolutely no sense at all.
Today there is no trust in the system. Police officers do not trust the system to dispense justice so they are not motivated to go after criminals fearing they will be out as soon as they are arrested posing existential threats to them and their families. We have heard and seen video evidence of criminals threatening to kidnap from schools, the children of police officers and kill them. None of this has changed the attitudes of judges. None of this has changed the attitudes of the Government. In fact, the Government’s point person on Justice, Delroy Chuck, understands his portfolio to be the defender in chief of violent murderers and other felons. We have cataloged empirical data showing that Delroy Chuck is a lobbyist for criminals, while being paid with tax dollars. The country must have consistency, and that was evident in two recent incidents recently. More to the point, all well-meaning Jamaicans want equitable dispensation of justice, that includes the oft-maligned police who recently criticized decisions in which rogue cops received slaps on the wrist for corruption. Additionally, a man who murdered a senior citizen and her son received a seven (7) year sentence for the double murders. The judge argued that the felon spent five years in jail awaiting trial and eventually plead guilty. What the liars did not tell the nation, is that the murdering scumbag only plead guilty because, under Delroy Chuck’s leadership, felons, including double murderers, like this one, can have their sentence halved simply by pleading guilty. But the outrage over the light sentences by civil society, immediately drew push-back from Delroy Chuck who chided those who argued for stiffer penalties for violent criminals. In summing up the retarded defense of his position Chuck argued “imposing a sentence that is most severe and at the harshest level, at times, is wrong, because persons who plead guilty have the opportunity to reform and go straight.” In other words, “fuck the victims and their pain, as long as you admit what you did in order to catch a break and receive a slap on the wrist we are good”. This is justice for sale Delroy Chuck style.
As we talk about a broken system which leans heavily in support of murderers, we should never forget that a carload of hoodlums which started a crime spree in Portmore Saint Catherine ended up shooting at officers who intercepted them and returned fire. The officers were convicted of manslaughter in the criminal paradise called Jamaica. One commentator had this to say. Quote” A car loaded with hoodlums and their cheerleaders committed aggravated robbery in Portmore then sped to Kingston. Got stopped by the police who had gotten wind of their adventures, decided not to stop, ended u[p being corned came out blazing, cops responded, one cheerleader dead, one criminal injured. Years after all three cops are imprisoned”.” What a sweet place to live…If you are a no-good that is.“
Constables Durvin Hayles, Anna Kay Bailey and AndreWain Smith, who were on trial for murder in the Home Circuit Court were convicted of (manslaughter) are in custody pending their appeal. These officers placed their lives on the line for the country, seven retarded dunces found them guilty after an overzealous INDECOM charged the officers with murder. Even though there was no way that INDECOM could prove [malice], a key component of murder, the officers were charged with the capital offense. They were doing exactly what they were sworn to do, and the evidence bore it out, yet the criminal supporting court and the trial judge did not move to throw out the case. This is Jamaica. Authorities ushered a man out of a Vermont courtroom after he boldly interrupted court proceedings to condemn a judge for releasing an avowed white supremacist who keeps defying court orders banning him from buying guns. On July 22, self-proclaimed white nationalist Max Misch pleaded not guilty in a Bennington, Vt., Superior Court for violating the conditions of his release on previous gun-possession charges, according to the Brattleboro Reformer. Sworn statements from Misch’s wife and a local gun store allege that Misch purchased a handgun for $350 on March 30, less than two months after a judge banned Misch from buying firearms following Misch’s February arrest for possessing illegal, large-capacity ammunition devices.
“My nephew was in jail a whole year, your honor,” Pratt continued as Vermont state troopers escort him out of the courtroom. “Keep up these racial disparities, guys…we’re watching all of you!” “I was in there specifically to find out what was going to happen with this guy,” Pratt told The Root. “My nephew was held without any evidence, without any witnesses, without any weapon for a whole year awaiting trial. Meanwhile, this guy is a known violent person. My thing is, why can’t we get the same kind of treatment? “I’m into social justice and I can see all of these disparities going on, but I wanted to see it in the flesh,” explained Pratt. “If it was me or anybody else, they would have let us sit there, even if we didn’t have a violent crime…especially if we kept violating court orders.”
Frederick Bragdon, the public defender representing Misch, argued that the white nationalist was not a flight risk because he liked the attention, explaining: “I’m sure as long as the press keeps coming, he’ll also be here.” The 36-year-old Misch describes himself as a “white nationalist” and “the man who be representing dem white muhfuckaz of Bennington,” and admitted to “trolling” former Vermont State Rep. Ruqaiyah “Kiah” Morris, who decided not to run for re-election in 2018, in part because of Misch’s online and in-person harassment. In a 10-page report, Vermont Attorney General T.J Donovan acknowledged that Misch’s harassment of Morris was “clearly racist and offensive,” but declined to prosecute Misch “because of the free speech protections afforded under the First Amendment.” When Donavan held the press conference with Morris to announce this decision, Misch showed up……and harassed Kiah Morris.
Days after that press conference, Vermont law enforcement officers began investigating allegations that Misch had traveled to nearby New Hampshire to purchase large-capacity gun magazines, which are banned in Vermont. A coalition of gun-rights organizations is challenging the ban, which is why the judge claims he freed Misch with no bail. However, the state has already denied Misch’s claim that his arrest violated his right to bear arms. Morris notes that Misch is a proud member of a local white supremacist group and has continued his three-year campaign of harassment against her, despite a restraining order against him. “This just reaffirms that it’s not safe for me or my family,” Morris told The Root on Monday. “[It shows] that we aren’t granted and afforded the same protections that other people have and that the justice system is deeply flawed.
Morris
“He’s not going to feel any repercussions for anything that he did regarding me and my family, at all,” said Morris. “This has become an entire debate around guns and firearms. It has been determined by the attorney general’s office that pursuing justice with regards to racial harassment, intimidation and threats is not worthy of taking to the Supreme Court and forcing them to re-examine this. But firearms are. “One of those gets you elected into office,” added Morris. “The other one does not.”
If you ever took a moment to think about automation, you must have wondered how are the poor and uneducated and unskilled going to live going forward? In just a few years, all across America, a whole slew of jobs which previously provided bread, (if no butter), to the poorest, least educated and unskilled Americans have been wiped out by automation. This is in addition to the factory jobs which had earlier disappeared and mining jobs which had also dwindled as a consequence of outsourcing and changing environmental attitudes. Supermarket cashiers, toll collectors, Fewer bank-tellers, Librarians, secretaries, typists, executive assistants, and so much more, those jobs have disappeared, or, are all but gone from the economy. As the population increases and jobs which requires manual labor becomes fewer, the situation inexorably becomes direr.
Democrat presidential candidate Andrew Yang
We are once again in an election cycle, and as candidates jockey for position in front of the cameras, not a single Democrat save one, (Andrew Yang), a virtual unknown or the right-wing extremist in the white house has broached the subject of what do to about this inevitable train wreck. This economy has been on an upward tear after President Barack Obama averted a collapse in 2008. Experts of all kinds have predicted that a downturn is imminent. In fact, the job-growth trajectory under the present occupant of the white house has been lower than what obtained under President Obama’s leadership, despite the lies and propaganda to the contrary. This period of job growth will not continue for much longer according to many experts. In 2018 the New York Post, a publication not known to be a bulwark of left-wing ideology, predicted that the next crash will be worse than the great depression. I hope they are wrong. In May of 2018, (Mynorthwest) warned the next major recession may be just around the corner. A 2020 recession is emerging as the most likely time-frame, the publication warned.
For the segment of the population, which has diversified portfolios or have high paying tech jobs, a potential economic downturn may not be as frightening, as it will be for the poorer less educated in the society. What that means in a nutshell, is that African-Americans, Latinos and poor whites will immediately be impacted. As the saying goes, black people are always the last hired and the first fired. Make no mistake about it, the next major economic downturn will be devastating to African-Americans, the most vulnerable in society are always the hardest hit. As devastating as the next recession/depression will be, it will pale in comparison to what actually awaits the African-American, Latino and yes the poor white communities.
MYSHOCKINGPREDICTION
Since neither political party has seen fit to address the freight train barrelling down the track, we are left to conclude that they already have a strategy in place which does not require input from the masses, the segment of the society which will inevitably be impacted the hardest and quickest. Over the years there have been many conspiracy theories about the intention of the Federal Government as it relates to the American masses. Some people deemed (kooks and crazies) have already built bunkers and have stockpiled food, water, and other necessities they believe will allow them to survive whatever they deduce will be forthcoming. Some have argued that FEMA, the Federal agency which is tasked with disaster relief coördination, has a secret agenda which will involve hundreds of thousands all herded into camps on the instructions of the government. Some have pointed to the militarization of the thousands of police departments across the country and the decidedly more aggressive stance the police have taken, particularly in the black community. Many have scoffed at these ideas and labeled those who believe that these things are possible, [conspiracy theorists]. To others, this is no laughing matter. What if, just what if, this is no laughing matter? What if the strategy is actually to put mass incarceration on steroids? After the Emancipation of Black people from the oppression of slavery African-Americans were to experience a reign of governmental terror many argue was worse than slavery itself. If one can imagine the indignity of servitude where one can be treated any way or disposed of as chattel or property, the period of reconstruction was more horrific for black people in America. In October of 2016 writing for the Huffington Post, Aristotle Jones wrote, Slavery was abolished in 1865 with the end of the Civil war and passing of the 13th amendment. The racial caste in the United States should have ended as well. However, the idea of race as a marker of value continued. After reconstruction, the majority of whites during this time believed newly freed African Americans were too lazy to work, which surged legislators to pass the black codes. This was essentially a system of white control. These codes varied from state to state, but were rooted from slavery, and they foreshadowed Jim Crow laws to come. For example, employment was required for all freedman; violators faced vagrancy charges, they were not taught to read or write, and public facilities were segregated.Within Reconstruction and Its Benefits, W.E.B. Du Bois says, “The codes spoke for themselves… No opened minded student can read them without being convinced they meant nothing more nor less than slavery.” Clearly, the black code’s intentions were to treat and see African-Americans as property, not persons. Furthermore, the black codes were intended to secure a steady supply of cheap labor, and continued to assume the inferiority of the freed slaves.
Even with crime going down overall across America the Government has continued to build prisons. According to the latest FBI report of Crime in the United States, the nation’s toll of serious violent and property offenses dipped in 2017 over the previous year. As compared with 2016, the violent crime rate per 100,000 population declined by .9 percent, including a 1.4 percent drop in homicide (which would have been a 1.8 percent reduction were it not for the act of one individual last October in Las Vegas). Meanwhile, the decline in property crime was even more pronounced with a 3.6 percent lower rate per 100,000 population. (USATODAY) According to the [Sentencing Project], The United States has the world’s largest private prison population. Of the 1.5 million people in state and federal prisons in 2016, 8.5 percent, or 128,063, were incarcerated in private prisons.1)Another 26,249 people ‑73 percent of all people in immigration detention- were confined in privately-run facilities on a daily basis during the fiscal year 2017. And so it’s not like there has not been American precedent for locking up black people as a strategy. The present situation at the Southern border of the United States and the government’s response to it may only be a test run. Children and adults seeking asylum locked in cages and forced to live in their own feces have elicited no outrage from a huge chunk of the population. For those people, no life matters unless they are white lives. For the 35 – 40 million African-Americans living in America, a reckoning is coming and it will not be good. Unfortunately for poor whites, their situation will hardly be any different. As jobs become increasingly more difficult to find, those on the lower end of the economic spectrum will be forced to resort to survival tactics. Simply put, crime will increase and mass incarceration will explode. That explains the silence on the consequences of automation.
In a 2017 article for the (Intercept) Journalist, Alice Speri writes, “It is not uncommon for residents of America’s most heavily policed neighborhoods to describe their local cops as “an occupying force.” Judging by where many U.S. police forces get their training, the description seems apt. Thousands of American law enforcement officers frequently travel for training to one of the few countries where policing and militarism are even more deeply intertwined than they are here: Israel.“ Read her article here: https://theintercept.com/2017/09/15/police-israel-cops-training-adl-human-rights-abuses-dc-washington/ It is not that both political parties are oblivious to these realities, they do know. The Republican party which is the white supremacist party and the party of the rich and powerful have been building jails to warehouse poor people of color. For them, it is par for the course. The increasing militarization of the thousands of police forces across the country serves that end. As for the Democrats, they can’t even decide on a strategy on which to contest Donald Trump much less agree that their base, the most vulnerable Americans are at great risk. In the same way that Democrats managed to lose the so-called blue-collar unionized workers to Donald Trump, so too will the party lose its most loyal base, African-Americans, only this time it will be for keeps. Yang’s proposal is to provide $1,000 per month ($12,000 a year) to each adult citizen. A core feature of the Freedom Dividend is that individuals would need to choose between their current government benefits and the Freedom Dividend. This is a concept which has started to take root in western Europe in response to the effects automation and outsourcing has had on their populations. It is safe to bet that this plan will not fly in America, a nation which did not use its tremendous wealth to uplift all its people. Not even those to whom it owed a tremendous debt for their hundreds of years of forced servitude, or from those from whom they stole the land.
