Since Big Money Is Free Speech, The Poor Have No Right To Free Speech!

Recent Supreme Court decision Citizens united has brought to the fore what has been a serious problem in American politics for a very long time, the issue of soft money buying influence essentially diluting the concept of one man one vote.

Both Political parties rake in huge sums of money to fund campaigns, it is allowed it is held to be free speech, of course those with deep pockets invariably will get to shout louder, or drown out those with holes in their pockets.

If the giving of money is tantamount to free speech, it leaves your humble blogger to conclude that those who have none to give, really have no freedom of speech.

It is no wonder then, that Rich Industrialists who own large corporations, from oil companies to lumber, and products which Americans use every day, to Casinos, see fit to give huge sums of money to straw candidates to fulfill their agendas, agendas which have nothing to do with the average person.

President Obama  Mitt Romney

Where does this leave the average person? Certainly the average person under this premise have long lost the right to speak! The right to vote then becomes the only way that an informed populace could fight back, informed being the operative word. If the populace is un-informed, ill-informed, or mis-informed because of the barrage of shouting from those with free speech, I mean money… you know what I mean , they are one and the same, Then it behoves those with free speech to shut up the peasants by limiting their right to vote. Am I starting to make sense to you yet?

So then, if the only way an informed populace may be heard without the benefit of immense wealth/free speech, is through the ballot box, why would the vociferous élite allow them this loop-hole through which to be heard?

Is it any wonder then that after Citizens United, the party of the vociferous élite has a launched a scorched earth campaign to suppress the vote in numerous States all over this country?

I have long argued that the strength of this great experiment , the continued dominance of this ever improving exercise, is as a result of the continued infusion of new blood , people of all class, color stripe, religion, sexual orientation, or any other stratifying criteria coming together to make this country what it is.

Like a great River cascading south, made greater and more powerful as it sucks in more streams and tributaries, so too is America made great. Not as some would have you believe, that this country which was built on the blood tears and anguish of African-Americans, Native Americans and others, was made great by only those who came over on Columbus’ Pinta ‚Nina and the Santa Maria , or those who followed on the Mayflower.

The greatness of America is in it’s diversity, its strength is not despite its carnacopia of cultures, races, religions and beliefs, it is exactly as a result of them.

The blindness of many to the devastating effects republican policies will have on them is a direct result of race. Remove Barack Obama from the equation and this would not be a close race between the two parties. The real tragedy for poor whites who vote against their own interest as a result of their ignorant hatred of Obama, is that it will have dire consequences for the entire middle and working class in this country.

Shrouded in Romney and Paul Ryan’s plan for America is a secret agenda which will literally remove for all time the ability of the middle and poorer class to ever have a voice again. The interest of all working people irrespective of color, are inexorably linked, middle class whites vote for republicans who have consistently shown that their agenda is the furtherance of the interest of the filthy rich.

White middle and poorer class people who are recipient of medicare, Medicaid, and social security have aligned themselves to Tea Party causes, some bearing signs caricaturing and demeaning president Obama, demanding he keep his hands of their Medicaid and medicare, at the same time they are denouncing government and all it represents.

Voter suppression on the face of it seem to impact the lives and interest of minorities, the truth is when the votes of minorities are suppressed , republicans will invariably show their true colors, they have no interest in poor whites, as they have shown disdain and revulsion to blacks and Latinos, so too is their disdain for poor whites. The only reason they romance poor whites is for their votes, soon enough poor and middle class whites will realize they are in the same position as the rest of us.

No money equals no free speech that will be true for all poor people irrespective of color.

BLACKS WERE HERE BEFORE ROMNEY AND SUNUNU.

Republicans have long used foreign policy to bash Democrats over the head, type-casting them as timid appeasers who are afraid to use military power to defend America’s interests, and by extension unfit to govern America.

As such, Republicans have arguably used military muscle to demonstrate toughness even when some of their most rabid war-hawks have never served a day in any branch of the military.

The failed attempt at rescuing American hostages held in Iran during the Carter Presidency only exacerbated that misconception. Even though that mishap was not the fault of President Carter, he was blamed for that failure, which literally propelled the Country into 8 years of Reagan rule.

Had the attempt in Pakistan to get Osama Bin Laden gone the way of that débâcle in the Iranian desert, the icing would have been on the cake, not just for the Obama Presidency, but for the chances of Democrats for years to come.

With that said it is fascinating to see a presidential campaign being waged with republicans unable to mention foreign policy with democrats running for the exits. As a matter of fact republicans have thus far made sure not to open up the pandora-box called foreign policy this election cycle, with the exception of Mitt Romney lying in certain parts of the country that president Obama goes around the world apologising for America. Of course Romney only does this in certain red states where he knows this kind of lunacy plays to the hatred some nut-cases have for the president. That lie has been fact checked and there is no evidence president Obama has ever apologised for America.

While we are on the subject , If America has done wrong to someone or a country isn’t an apology in order? Since when apologies are bad things? What does it say about those who see genuine apology as a negative?

The Obama campaign has been hitting Mitt Romney on his assertion that he is qualified to be president because of his time in business, as Paul Begala stated Mitt Romney is a one trick pony who has staked his entire presidential run on the prospect of the economy tanking.

Of course the president’s re-election campaign will not to sit idly by and let Romney lie that his tenure as head of Bain Capital gave him a right to the keys to 1600 Pennsylvania avenue. Irrespective of Anne Romney’s assertion that quote (“it’s our time now , it’s Mitt’s time now”) inferring that the presidency was a monarchy to be passed on to the most entitled.

As Newt Gingrich and others had shown ‚Bain Capital may have made Mitt Romney a very wealth man, kudos to him, but it also presents problems for him as far as the claims he made about being a job creator, and his continued attacks on China and outsourcing. Romney it turns out is a pioneer in the art of outsourcing American jobs as head of Bain Capital.

The Obama campaign have kept up a sustained attack on Romney’s record at Bain, particularly in swing states, over the objections of weak knee Democrats like Corey Booker Newark Mayor, Ed Rendell former Governor of Pennsylvania, and former congressman Harold Ford.

Team Obama not caring about the criticisms from those pontificating democrats have kept up the drum-beat on Bain and it has paid off big time, by itself the inconsistencies about the time Romney left Bain may not be a smoking gun, but when viewed within the prism of his refusal to release more than one year’s tax returns, and what many refer to as his colossal lack of transparency, the Obama campaign is confident they are onto something which disqualifies Mitt Romney from being a viable alternative to their candidate, Barack Obama.

Romney and his campaign has consistently chosen to obfuscate, using the tired old line that the Obama attack and assertions are a distraction , arguing that Obama cannot run on his record, and as a result he is running on distractions.

Whenever they use this line of talking points Democrats do not push back against it, whether it be journalists or surrogates of Obama they let those talking points go unchallenged.

I though killing Bin Laden , restoring over 3 million jobs to the middle class, passing the affordable care act, repealing don’t ask don’t tell, signing the Lilly Ledbetter Act into law, ending the Iraq War, escalating and then drawing down on the Afghanistan war would be a pretty impressive resume on which to run, but I digress, lily liveried Democrats do not think that record warrants a sound defense and a push back against Republican lies.

Romney pushes the narrative that any attempt to vet him for the highest office in the country is a distraction, by that reasoning he wants to be held to a lesser standard than that which Senate Republicans have for President Obama’s nominees to the federal bench. Romney wants to be allowed into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue as a stealth candidate, a Manchurian candidate of sorts.

So he goes around the country frothing at the mouth as he lies about Obama’s record in a rabid deranged lather, yet he offers nothing to the faithful intellectually challenged, who gather to hear his litany of lies .

He has so far released only one year’s tax returns, a strategy that has befuddled even staunch Conservatives like william Kristol of the Weekly Standard and George Will Conservative Icon. Ironically Romney’s father George Romney set the standard for transparency when he released a reported 12 years of tax returns in his failed run for the presidency, the elderly Romney argued that one year’s returns could not possibly be a true representative sample, in essence it could be a fluke.

Obviously Willard Mitt Romney does not subscribe to that part of his father’s doctrine, even though he is always quick to be on his late father’s band-waggon on other issues when it suits him. The truth behind this tax headache for Romney can be found in Romney’s own statements, during the primaries when a debate questioner asked him why not just release his tax returns, Romney stated bluntly, he wants to beat President Obama and he would not release his tax returns to give the Obama campaign weapons to bludgeon him with. He has made that point time and again. In short what that means is that there is damaging and damning material in those tax returns which precludes Romney from releasing them , as such, despite pressure from even those in his own party he is unable to release them for fear of the effects it will have on his chances to take the White House.

Romney and his people knows what’s in those returns and they are determined to ride out this tide, they hope that this will die down soon enough and they will get away with it. Between Swiss bank accounts, investments in Bermuda , and the Cayman Islands the Obama campaign should have a feeding frenzy at this for the next four months.

Right-wink nut cases will lash out with ghastly putrid and rancid racist bile, they will lie they will name-call, and they will spew venomous hatred at Obama, it will not change the facts , what I worry about are the so-called Democrats who side with republicans ‚which the President can well do without.

When the President’s deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter stated that either Romney lied to the FEC on the forms he signed that he was in charge at Bain Capital after 1999, (which is a felony), or he lied to the American people when he said he left the firm in 1999 which would be (a serious question of character), she was exactly correct. Of corse Ed Rendell was the first to criticize Cutter. With friends like Rendell Obama needs no enemies. Rendell is a Clinton loyalist who may still be harbouring grudges that his candidate Hillary Clinton lost the primaries to Barack Obama. It is no surprise that people like Rendell are not a part of Obama’s inner circle.

Republicans do not mince words and they all repeat the same story-line, no matter how much of a lie it is. They are despicable liars, yet the Bookers, Rendell, and Harold Fords are the first appeasers to criticize fellow democrats for doing what they are too scared to do, speak in a clear unequivocal and concise language, as Stephanie Cutter did, which needed no walk-back or apology. What Stephanie said is what all democrats should line up to learn from miss Cutter how to deliver a message without ambiguity.

Barack Obama has taken the foreign policy big stick from republicans, they are seething mad that they cannot beat this president on foreign policy, so they are running on one thing and one thing only, their bet on a bad economy.

It’s no wonder that class-less ideologues like Dick Cheney went to Washington to help Republicans fight against Military cuts that republicans and democrats came to agreement on. As he did as vice president Cheney used lies and distortions to take this country into an illegal and unjust war against the Iraqi people.

First they argued that Saddam Hussein had something to do with 911 , when that lie was debunked by the intelligence community the lying Chaney all but demanded that they distort their own intelligence to suit their narrative and drum-beat for war. In a truly democratic country Dick Cheney would be serving a life sentence for war crimes.

Of course Cheney would not allow the fact that there were no connections between Saddam Hussein and 911, no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, nothing was going to stop the drumbeat for war to satisfy Cheney and the other neo-cons in the Bush Administration hell-bent on hegemony and filling the pockets of companies like Halliburton, Black Water and others associated with , you guessed it Dick Cheney.

Of course Cheney is in Washington DC to rally republicans to oppose cuts to the bloated wasteful bureaucracy called the Pentagon, yet Romney and his republican friends are willing to gut programs which help the most desperate and vulnerable Americans. PS. Republicans and democrats agreed to those cuts.

Paul Ryan’s budget which Romney calls fabulous would gut 3.3 Trillion dollars from programs which aids the poor, like food stamps, meals on wheels and other critical programs that many people depend on for life itself. Republicans do not believe that the poor should live, they have no use for people who are not rich 1 %ers.

One would think that after Cheney jumped the line and received a heart from someone who made a conscious decision to be an organ donor, or their family members had the courage to donate that deceased heart, Cheney would have been a different human being, maybe have some class, less vile and despicable, this is not the case he is still the same hateful disgusting vile creature he has always been.

Of course Mitt (entitled to the presidency) Romney just wants to be president, no one should ask about his tax returns, no one should delve into his tenure as the head of Bain Capital, even though his entire argument why he wants to be president is that he is mister fix-it based on his tenure at the aforementioned Bain Capital.

The venomous hatred we have grown accustomed to coming from the idiot right has spread far and away from the regular morons, and intellectualy constipated regulars like the over-weight ignoramus blow-hard Rush the druggie Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin, Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, the three stooges that make up the so-called FOX and Friends and the others too many to mention.

The blackness of Barack Obama, and his audacity to want to occupy the White House has unleashed an avalanche of hatred that many have never seen in their life time, yet they bury their heads in their hands and pretend that what we see happening are things other than what it they are, vile putrid, rancid, racial politics at it’s worst.

Not to be outdone Mitt Romney has found himself a place on the band-waggon making the president of the United States somehow not an American.

Imagine John Sununu, Romney surrogate, and Bush 41 chief of staff saying he wishes this president would learn how to be an American. The nerve of this guy who was born in Cuba.

Sununu was born in Havana, Cuba, the son of Victoria (née Dada) and John Saleh Sununu, an international film distributor.[1] He is of Palestinian and Greek descent [2]. His father grew up in Jerusalem, Palestine and his mother was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, as part of the mass exodus of Palestinians abroad to seek a better life.{wikipedia}This is the rabid attack Dog that Romney has unleashed against president Obama, an interloper like myself, who was born outside this country , but have the nerve to attack the sitting president, having the nerve temerity and gall to label the president of the United States of America as an outsider!!

Mitt Romney , Michele wild eye Bachman, Palin and all of the despotic ignoramuses on the lunatic fringe seem not to have gotten the memo that the civil war is over and they lost.

One more thing to all you racist vile creatures who feel tha Barack Obama does not belong here, I have news for you, when Christopher Columbus discovered America where people were already living their lives, African-Americans were already here, so chew on that Chaney, Bachman, Limbaugh, Beck ‚Hannity, and all you racist pontificaters. The reason you have so much talk is because of the passivity of the black race.

I will follow-up on this subject.

How Low Will Jamaica Go Before It Fixes The Problems?

Recent display of boorish behavior and what amounts to a tragic race to the bottom by Parliamentarians, once again exposes the need for our country to get on the road to being a country of laws.

It is not unusual to see rude coarse displays on television by some who ought to behave at the highest levels and ought to set the best example because of their perch. This bad behavior is not confined to Jamaica’s house of representatives, but unfortunately has become a staple of other countries the world over.

As we pull our hair out in exasperation and disgust, we worry and are reminded that this new norm represents a departure from a kinder gentler time when people of all stripes respected each other. It is impossible to say whether we will ever return to civility or ever desist as Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller demands, or we must now acclimatize ourselves to these new normals.

South West Saint Catherine Member of Parliament Everald Warmington and North West St. Elizabeth Member of Parliament J.C. Hutchinson are the two offenders named in last week’s blow-up in the House of Representatives. Hutchinson seem like a kid who follows others and gets into trouble ‚with strong corrective measures he can be saved from himself, Warmington on the other hand seem to believe that he is some kinda thug, it seem this guy genuinely believe that he is something special who should have no respect for anyone or anything bigger than himself.

As such Warmington has become the face of what’s wrong with Jamaica’s parliamentary system, and the break-down of decorum which has ensued within that body.

As I have argued before, passing laws and putting rules in place do not solve every problem. God knows, as a Christian I recognize that the good Lord sent his son to die for our sins, the Bible stated the Father knew we could not live by laws, it stated if we broke one we were guilty of all, as such we are now living by God’s grace because he sent his son to die in our place. It does not mean spiritually that we are not responsible for our transgressions, what it means is that we have salvation through Jesus Christ.

Even though we are not bound by ancient Biblical laws we are still required to obey certain rules and guidelines in the way we live our lives. It also follows that even though laws and rules does not solve all our problems we cannot operate without them.

With all of that said I must ask why is it in the year 2012 there are no real punitive remedies in place for those who breach the standing orders or rules which govern the people’s house?

The Prime Minister , well-intentioned though she may be, would be well advised that hugging and kissing may assuage hurt feelings, it may soothe ruffled feathers but it does nothing to restore discipline to the society and certainly not in the highest Legislative body in the nation.

The children are watching, the world is watching , as our country gears up for the revelry that is sure to ensue, all in the name of 50 years of Independence from Britain, many are still suggesting that after all that time Jamaica is now worse off than it was before Britain cut the apron-strings.

The behavior displayed by the two hoodlums in the house of Representatives toward the House Marshall Kevin Williams is symptomatic of what law-enforcement officials have faced daily for decades. The Marshall was reportedly sent by the acting speaker of the House to remove J.C.Hutchinson after his conduct within the chamber was construed to be intolerable, as per the reports, that is when the House Marshall was verbally abused by the two scalawags.

Hutchinson and Warmington are from the Opposition Jamaica labor Party, Lloyd B Smith who gave the order to remove Hutchinson from the chamber, may have been seen to be abusing that position with the issuance of that order, the solution however can never be to abuse the person acting legally to remove him. Hutchinson should have left and then seek remedy if there is any , if none is available as a legislator he should seek to develop legislation to fix that problem, that is what legislators do.

It must also be clear that those two members by themselves could not reasonably be concluded to be in contravention of House Rules or decorum, yet there was no mention of any Government members reprimanded in the process, as such Opposition members followed with a walk-out. Lloyd B Smith himself conceded he had erred in incorrectly applying the standing orders which led to the opposition walk-out.

I had an extensive conversation with a friend who happens to be a senior member of the public sector recently, I told him that the primary function of government is to provide a secure environment for its people. My friend a man who voted for and believe in the allure of the present Government and the party from which it was formed, delved into the complicity of what Government is responsible for. In the process he succeded in tying himself into an intractable knot from which he could not untangle or extricate himself.

His explanations seemed to mirror what I always thought about our country’s leaders, they see their positions and their task so complex that the average person cannot reasonably understand what they do , as such they are duty bound to do everything in their power to stay in power. The fact is, a secure environment does not mean only providing security, say with effective policing, but rather a government which is equipped to provide answers to crime , out-break of diseases, and any other problem that may face the population. That is governance, the private sector is capable of doing it’s part in the process.

If there is no security for farmers from predial larceny, farmers give up on farming, so too if there are outbreaks of crop-desease without remedy. If energy prices are too high it prevents the start-up of new businesses and makes it difficult for existing businesses to survive. If there is no security children cannot go to school out of fear for their lives. We saw that when the Security Forces went into Tivoli Gardens.

Simply put now, as I put it to my friend then, security trumps everything else, no one in leadership seem to understand this and neither does my friend.

One Year Later No Justice For The Mais Family:

One year after the launch of this blog-site, it is a bitter-sweet experience for me as I celebrate the success of my passion, while at the same time paradoxically mourning the death of Khajeel Mais.

One year ago this young man whom I have never met forced me to launch my website with a solo article, an article which registered my outrage at his death.

A full year later the family of this young man has not seen any justice in the death of their son, the shooter is out on bail and from reporting in the Jamaican media he hasn’t even turned over the murder weapon to the police.

What that means is that both he and his lawyers have collectively thumbed their noses of the joke of a criminal justice system which obtains in Jamaica.

I will come back to this issue in a minute but there was a very good reporting on this story in the Jamaica Gleaner:http://http://jamaica-gleaner.com/pages/x6/ of July 3rd 2012.

We will make no judgement on the direction of the case, neither will I predict the ultimate resolution. I will however draw your attention to the fact that the alleged shooter is a Jamaican so-called big man, he fled the jurisdiction after he allegedly committed the act, have not turned over the weapon to police, and has not cooperated with law-enforcement, any one of the aforementioned criterias, combined or by themselves, these characteristics would render an accused ineligible for bail in most jurisdiction, not so in Jamaica.

Despite the confluence of negatives by this accused as it relates to bail, he was promptly given bail. One of the biggest myth perpetuated on the unsuspecting public in Jamaica is that Bail should not be punitive, as such criminals accused of serious crimes are promptly released back into the general population, irrespective of the gravity of their crimes or the number of times they commit the most egregious crimes. This is the largest piece of idiocy being propagated by the penny millionaires who live above Cross-Roads.

As a result the job of law enforcement is made doubly difficult,. If bail is not supposed to be punitive, then maybe it should be. Maybe it would produce a degree of deterrent to some of the killers operating with impunity if they knew that when caught they would not see the light of day. How about that bleeding hearts?

As the Mais family grieve the loss of their precious son, there are no comforting words coming from the politicians, none from the criminal rights fraternity, after all I’m sure Carolyn Gomes is watching to ensure no one steps out of line when they deal with the killer of Khajeel Mais.

Carolyn Gomes Dir. JFJ

You see as I have said for years, decent people who are trying to do the right thing in Jamaica are endangered species, no one care for them, not politicians, not preists, not the criminal rights activists, there is no money to be made from their defence, no money to be had from abroad for advocacy on their behalf.

To the Mais family I empathize with your pain, I understand your exasperation, feel free to grieve, at the same time what I can do is to continue to shine a light on your case so that people all over the world may read , get outraged and demand justice for your family.

God bless you.

Affordable Care Act Not A Tax, Romney Aide:

So the affordable care act is deemed to be constitutional by the highest court in the land, with the republican appointed chief justice siding with the majority, win for the American people right?

Well not if you are a republican, like medicare, Medicaid, social security and every other federal plan which aids the poor and dispossessed, republicans have taken to the airwaves with fear-mongering and lies, “it’s a tax , it’s a tax, the president has visited a monumental tax on the American people”. The only thing is that it is a total lie.

The US Supreme Court has ruled that the Affordable Care Act (Obama care) is unconstitutional under the commerce clause. Chief Justice Roberts sided with Associate Justices, Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy, and Alito.

Hence the initial euphoric shrieks and cries of joy coming from the right when networks like FOX and CNN announced the decision without digging deeper into the ruling.

The ruling went further however, the court ruled that under the taxing authority the law is indeed constitutional.

The old republican nay-sayers were immediately on the doom and gloom message, “Obama has just imposed a massive tax on the American people”. Leading the charge was Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell the old curmudgeon from Kentucky, remember him? yes the same Mitch Mc Connell whose sole responsibility is to make president Obama a one term president, not look after the people’s business, remember him?

Other Senate obstructionists like Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn a medical Doctor and others were out trumpeting the tax narrative.

One thing the lame stream media does not bother to ask is, “do you gentlemen and gentle ladies at the top of the federal food-chain have good medical insurance”? “Do you have to visit emergency rooms to get medical care”? Do you get dumped from Insurance plans because you have pre-existing conditions”? “Do your kids have to forgo insurance because they are not working”?

The truth is, what passes for media are just corporate entities in the pockets and owned by the very people republicans represent, so don’t hold your breath waiting for those questions. Conversely what you may well hear is the same media trumpeting the campaign talking points of the Romney campaign. David Gregory in an interview on the NBC Sunday morning talk show “Meet the Press” all but told ‚rather than ask House minority leader Nancy Pelosi it was a tax. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032608/.

The real issue is, why do republicans who are paid by tax dollars, paid very well, have top-tier medical Insurance , better than the average American with health Insurance, but does not want the middle-class and the poor to have health insurance?

And of course those of you who are familiar with these blogs know that my next question then becomes as always, “how does republicans manage to convince people to militate and vote against their own self-interest”?

Mitt Romney President Barack Obama

Like other significant legislation which has moved this country forward, ending slavery, ending Jim Crowe, school integration, and other social programs I articulated above , republicans have fought tooth and nail to prevent progress.

True to their (modus operandi), a group of republican Governors Wisconsin’s Scott Walker, Louisiana’s Bobby Jindal, South Carolina’s Nicky Haley, Florida’s Rick Scott, and New Jersey’s blow-hard Cris Christie has pontificated that they will not abide by the law, in essence they will not move to set up exchanges as dictated by this affordable care act.

This means that American citizens living in these states without health insurance, will be precluded from getting the care they need, because their republican governors have decided to put politics and far right lunatic ideology over common sense, their health and ultimately their very lives.

What these governors will not acknowledge is that whether they decided to obey federal Law or not, it will be enacted, the federal government will step in to set up the exchanges whether these ideologues agree or not, so as they pontificate about not needing the federal government intervening in their states, by default, they are actually inviting federal authority into the aforementioned states.

One wonders if states like Louisiana with its poverty and low percentage of health insured, New Jersey a blue state, really want this kind of posturing from their elected leaders?

Jindal Walker Haley

Scott Christie

Let’s look at the facts, experts have said even if we argue that it is a tax as it is deemed constitutional, only about 1 – 2 % of people who have no insurance, will pay a of what amounts to about $95.

The truth is, there is evidence that this whole health care idea came out of the ultra-conservative think-tank Heritage Foundation, and is the cornerstone of Romney-care the signature accomplishment of Mitt Romney republican candidate for president in the state of Massachusetts

This presents a conundrum for Romney, as former contender Rick Santorum alluded during the primaries Mitt Romney was the worst candidate republicans could field to go up against the president, exactly because of Romney-care.

It was no surprise then that despite the all out assault by republican elected leaders and their plants in the lame-stream media, by Monday morning July 2nd senior Romney campaign adviser Eric (etch-a-sketch) Fehrnstrom was on MSNBC telling NBC’s Chuck Todd that Romney agrees with the president and democrats that the penalty in the law which would penalize so-called free riders is not a tax but indeed a penalty. I wonder how Mitch McConnell, Coburn and others will remove the egg from their faces?

Romney knows fully well that he will be totally incapable of articulating a path forward being the creator of Romney-care, in support of which he stated emphatically and categorically that the penalty was not a tax.

Obviously the obstructionists in the House Senate and lame-street media did not get the memo.>

I really get that a country which is still majority white could resist the emancipation of slaves, the removal of Jim Crowe laws, school integration, and the civil rights act.

I get that, but how is getting insurance when you had none a bad thing?

Most democrats correctly believe that the government have a right and indeed a duty to help the most vulnerable, not with hand-outs but with hands-up.

Most republicans conversely believe that government should have no role in helping the poor, dispossessed or helpless, they fundamentally believe that those roles should be left up to charities , churches, and other NGO’s and for those who cannot access help from the aforementioned/Well tough, they are out of luck.

Republicans fundamentally espouse the narrative that those who are not rich or well-off are sloven sloths who failed to take advantage of the greatest system in the world as they see it, Capitalism.

On that basis, those people are probably better off not getting any help , in other words they have no use for the poor.

OBAMA CARE, AND HOLDER CONTEMPT CONSPIRACY, A BUST FOR REPUBLICANS

Republicans pulled off an egregious act yesterday in the US house of Representatives, it was never done before, yet it was planned and timed for the very day the US Supreme court was to hand down a ruling on the Affordable care Act,dubbed (Obama care).

At the center of the tragedy perpetuated by the republican house of representatives is Attorney General Eric Holder, and the so-called fast and furious gun-walking program started under the Bush Administration and ended under Attorney general Eric Holder.

Eric Holder  Daryl Issa.

Michael Mukasey

House republicans investigating the fast and furious program involving the ATF, decided to hold the Attorney General in contempt of congress. Attorney General Holder and the Justice department argues that they have handed over thousands of documents to the house oversight committee, chaired by Daryl Issa republican from California. The Justice Department and democrats insists that the investigations is nothing more than a witch-hunt, designed to embarrass the Obama administration which has been an impeccable and scandal-free administration thus far.

Democrats insist that if Issa wanted a thorough investigation he would have called former Bush Attorney General Michael Mukasey under whose watch the program started. Lost in the theatrics of republican web of deceit is the fact that a federal border agent was murdered allegedly by Mexican drug dealers. On that basis it is important that there is a detailed and comprehensive non-partisan investigation done by Issa’s committee with a view to determining what really happened.

Issa admitted on FOX misinformation to Cris Wallace that he had no information that there was any kind of cover-up involving the Obama White House, yet as soon as he was done he went back to insinuating that the fast and furious program was intended to create gun crimes on the mexican border which the administration would then use to push gun control laws here in the United States. Nut-cases on the fringe had already concocted all kinds of conspiracy scenarios to include what Issa parrots, real reporting on this case has shown that Attorney General Holder did not know about fast and furious and as soon as he found out about it he stopped it and reassigned the agents involved.

Issa will not allow those facts to get in the way of the right-wing talking points which is nothing but lies, hate and misinformation. Anyone who thought that Daryl Issa would be above using his congressional authority in such a blatant political and shameful way must now reconsider. It is now clear to everyone who have eyes that republicans will do any and everything in their power to destroy this president. There is nothing beneath republicans, there is nothing they will not do to gain power or get their way.

THE PLAN WAS TO HAVE WHAT THEY THOUGH WOULD HAVE BEENSUPREME COURT OVERTURN OF THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT (OBAMA CARE) AND THE DOUBLE WHAMMY OF HOLDING THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IN CONTEMPT OF CONGRESS, ALL ON THE SAME DAY.

DOES ANYONE BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS ANY OTHER REASON WHY THEY SCHEDULED THE HOUSE VOTE ON THE DAY THE COURT’S DECISION WAS DUE?

THEY WERE STUNNED WHEN IT DID NOT HAPPEN THEY WAY THEY PLANNED. THE TALKING POINTS WAS TO FURTHER THEIR12 YEAR NARRATIVE THAT THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION IS ILLEGITIMATE, HELD TO BE UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND IN CONTEMPT OF THE CONGRESS IN ONE FELL-SWOOP.

THAT WAS THE REPUBLICAN PLAN.

Instead they are left with eggs on their lying despicable faces, left to cry in their drinks and plan more atrocious deception and demagoguery.

Joe Scarborough host of MSNBC’s (morning joe) tweeted that republicans by doing what they did, seemed petty and political, no one will accuse Scarborough of being a flaming liberal. I too have some P words I would like to use to describe them , but I will refrain from stooping“g to their level.

House minority whip Stenny Hoyer Democrat Maryland argued that the period which would lead up to a contempt of congress vote, is one that would take 87 days, house republicans voted to hold Holder in contempt in 7 days, yet they cannot pass any legislation that benefits the people who put them there to do their business. Many observers to this nightmare of a party wonders how in hell anyone could vote to put these lying, hateful , miscreants into office when all they care about is enhancing the agenda of the 1% ? Time after time on every issue republicans have been wrong. They warned and declared dooms-day when social security was enacted , medicare, and every social program designed to help average Americans, to include the civil rights Act, the voting rights Act, and every other piece of legislation which moves this nation forward.

On every issue republicans have been wrong, yet they never waver when America is to wage war on other nations, that is the only purpose of the republican party to wage war. Many of the low-information voters who actually drink the proverbial cool-aid and follow these kooks are living off the very social programs and safety nets their party demonize and demagogue.

Members of the congressional black caucus in a show of solidarity with Attorney General Holder led a walk-out of democrats while the travesty was being perpetuated, true to form their were some democrats who as expected were scared shitless of the NRA surrendered their principles and voted out of fear to hold the AG in contempt.

Say what you want about republicans, they lie they are racist, they cheat, they conspire to deceive, and whatever else you may accuse them of they are that, but republicans would never under any circumstances vote with democrats to hold one of their own in contempt . This was not only a sad day for the nation, for the house of representatives, and for the process, it was a sad day for democrats.

The actions of democrats who voted for this contempt of the Attorney General was a cowardly and reprehensible act. As a member of the human race I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees, the argument that they were afraid of the all-powerful national rifle association is bogus.

These are the same bogus democrats who call themselves blue-dog democrats, they are not real democrats they are wolves in sheep clothing, nothing more than trojan horses. These are the very people who were the last to come into the fold when Barack Obama won the nomination, they are not much different from the hateful despicable republicans they are simply worse.

AFFORDABLE CARE ACT AFFIRMED LAW OF THE LAND:

For 12 years the US Supreme Court has changed the narrative from liberal judicial activism swinging the pendulum to far right conservative activism.

From Bush Vs Gore which took the elections away from the legitimately elected Al Gore for president in 2000, to Citizens United, and now the show me your papers law in Arizona this court has shown that it is willing to exact its will on the direction of the country, irrespective and contrary to the will of the majority.

However the most momentous decision is yet to come, all over the country and the world we wait as the Supreme court will reveal whether it will strike down the signature piece of legislation the president passed in his first term. The question that pundits and prognosticators debate is whether the Affordable Care Act will be left to stand, whether the individual mandate will be struck from the law, or whether it will be struck down in totality.

Again, despite the ruling of the supreme court the larger question seem to be one that I have asked many times in this forum.“How do republicans manage to convince so many people to militate and vote against their own self-interest”?

Though this president has a nuanced persona about him, it is now time for him to adopt a more strident stance against the reactionary forces on the right, amassed against him.

The decision:

THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT IS UPHELD BY THE US SUPREME COURT.

Chief Justice Roberts Ass. Justice Kagan Ass. Justice Breyer Ass. Justice Sotomayer Ass. Justice Ginsberg

Ass. Justice Kennedy Ass. Justice Scalia Ass. Justice Alito Ass. justice Thomas

In a 5 – 4 decision the highest court in the land has affirmed the legitimacy of the president’s signature accomplishment. Republicans are already lining up to launch a political assault against this piece of legislation which prevents Insurance companies from dropping or turning away people with pre-existing conditions, and which allows young adults without a job to stay on the insurance of their parents until they are age 26.

The republican party has made it clear that they do not care about the average middle class American, they have not shied away from the notion of trickle-down economics. The Republican candidate for president Mitt Romney stated that he did not care about the poor, he argues that if rich people are given more opportunities to make more money it will work for the betterment of the middle and poorer class. The truth is that it hasn’t worked yet they still persist in pushing this idiocy.

The truth is when the middle class is empowered they go out and purchase homes, cars, furniture , appliance, clothes and whatever else they need. Conversely when that money is given to the very rich they do not even know they have it until their accountants tell them what their bottom-line is, and they certainly do not go out and spend it.

Mitt Romney in his assault on the decision, has his usually frothing at the mouth response, lies innuendos and misinformation. Romney obviously feel that he can win the election on lies and misinformation. He also seemed to believe that saying “Obama-care” somehow diminishes the president. In his less than five-minute comment he used the term Obama care over and over and over again.

House number two republican Eric Cantor has already intimated that he will schedule a vote July 11th to overturn the Affordable Care Act. Romney lies that the affordable care act will increase taxes on the average Americans and add billions to the deficit, the truth is the non-partisan congressional budget office has said the opposite is true, yet Romney continue to use the same tired old lies and avoid doing interviews, obviously the Romney campaign believes their candidate can continue to lie and duck his way into the White House. It is yet to be seen if the American people will fall for that deception.

The late liberal lion of the senate, Ted Kennedy must be smiling today, he wanted the president to take what he could get, this president has staked his presidency on helping to provide health care for the American people, he has been vindicated.

The challenge for the American people now is for them to avail themselves to the benefits for them and their children for generations to come. As republicans continue to demagogue and demonize this bill I continue to ask what is it that causes people to vote against their own self interest? Senator Kennedy railed at republicans in his life-time, he famously asked “what is it about the middle class you find so offensive, what do you find so objectionable about the poor”?

Today I echo that sentiment.

OBAMA CARE (S).

30 HEAVILY ARMED MEN INVADE COMMUNITY.

Thirty men all armed with high-powered weapons carried out the massacre in August Town Saint Andrew Jamaica last week-end:

Our country is once again awash in blood, many on the ground there are beginning to come around albeit late to the fact that what the security forces are up against is guerilla warfare.

At least one of the country’s newspaper The daily Gleaner captioned one of its articles [GUERILLA WARFARE], this speaks volumes about what is really happening in our country. On April 18th of this year I wrote a blog titled [JAMAICALEADERLESS NATION]. In that opinion piece I outlined that our country was essentially like a ship rudderless on the ocean, filled with people, with no captain on deck.,

As blood runs, the country’s Prime Minister is not only clueless, she is woefully bereft of any idea what to do. Unfortunately for those who voted for Portia Simpson Miller and those who didn’t , her game plan and her idea of leadership is to be in power, that’s it. Subsequently as Rome burns, the Empress continues to glide around the carribean and the world attending functions and receiving gratuitous awards in the nakedness of her new clothes.

Jamaica gleaner photo

I have spent many days and nights as a member of the Rangers Squad, in the Wareika Hills overlooking East Kingston. I have spent countless nights and days facing down heavily armed urban terrorists in ever garrison within our country, I have spent an entire week in the Montpelier Mountains of western Jamaica in the quest to apprehend and prevent drugs and weapons smuggling into our country, no real food other than army rations, no drink other than brackish water, and no shelter from the rain, heat, mosquitos and other pests. And then there are the armed drug and gun runners.

As a member of the CIB I have put many drug dealers in Jail only to see them walk out after a few months, I have assisted and personally removed guns from the streets ‚getting shot in the process. I have received valuable information from members of the public which has saved lives , recovered weapons and prevented hard drugs from getting distributed into our communities.

As the security forces continue to do the heavy lifting, shortcomings and all , the Jamaican people continue to be prisoners in their own homes and in their communities as dangerous blood-thirsty demons run their communities using intimidation, murder and mayhem.

Here are three of the accused men as publicized by the police from left to right Michael Morgan alias Frisky, Dilton Foster alias Dil, and Owen Whitley alias Howie.(Photographs courtesy of the Jamaica Gleaner)

Thus far we have no evidence whether these men are guilty or not , but the police have provided these portraits naming them as men of interest in the massacre of the four over the weekend.

Inner city communities all over our country continue to feed the monster of crime and terror with complicit silence, the long-established culture of informer fi dead” has given life to a generation of blood-thirsty rabid killers who are hell-bent on having it their way. This rabid blood-lust did not occur in a vacuum, it germinated on the fertilized bed of acquiescence and was allowed to metastasize on the blatant and overt support it received from criminal rights organizations , operating as legitimate human rights organizations in our country.

Unfortunately for our country , our police officers are fighting this scourge with the same tactics it used 20 years ago when I was still a serving member, for the most part reactive.

As more and more innocent , defenseless citizens are slaughtered the silence is deafening from the frothing mouth liberal charlatans at the criminal rights surrogacy group (Jamaicans for justice).

Pictured from left to right is Earl Witter public defender, executive director of JFJ Carolyn Gomes and Susan Goffe also of JFJ.

These are three of the prominent Jamaicans who on a daily basis give unmitigated support to murderers, they wage and maintain a blistering campaign against the security forces, the result of which we are seeing in the gruesome mass slaughter happening in communities all over our country. They have stridently argued that in order for the killing of criminals to be justified an equal amount of police officers must also be killed.

They are all dubiously silent when innocent Jamaicans are murdered in the sanctity of their own homes. What happen to the human rights of the innocent, are those not killed by police without rights?

The deafening silence comes from the fact that those faces above are of people scared shitless of the marauding murderers who are destroying our beautiful country. They only come out of the wood-work when police kill the scum, that is how they remain relevant, that is how they secure foreign funding.

The acts of home-grown terrorism seen today are nothing new, this have been going on for decades, Jamaica’s criminal under-world has been waging this kind of warfare against innocent defenseless citizens for as long as I can remember. Those cops standing there are a buffer between the community and the terrorists, for years I was one of those cops who stood there in places like Brook Avenue in Duhaney Park standing between the killers who use the vantage point of the higher terrain to determine when to strike.

We stood there facing down killers with no bullet proof vest and only the vehicle we drove as cover. We did it in Nannyville and Back-to, In places like Olympic villa and a plethora of other communities ravaged by crime which is fed by silence.

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller.

Ask the clueless Prime Minister what she plan on doing about the terrorism gripping the country and she will probably tell you to ask the PNP. That seem to be the only answer she is intellectually capable of giving to every question.

Our country is in for a rough time with no end in sight and no leadership on this and many more issues, God help the good people who did not ask or vote for this.

KINGFISH DISBANDED

Jamaicans were officially told that one of the more effective arm within the police department was effectively disbanded.

Kingfish was launched in 2004 under the former Government of the People’s National Party, after tremendous demands from a crime inundated public. At it’s launch Kingfish was heralded as a unit that would go after organized crime players. I argued after it’s launch that Kingfish would die the same death as other units which were successful in containing crime. Many who discuss crime and security in Jamaica, whether they live on the Island or not , do so from their own perceptions about the rule of law.The question of success as it relates to specialized units and their impact on crime will always be subjective.

I speak from the dual vantage point of an ordinary citizen but also from a position of having once being a part of one of those specialized units. That perch gives one a better idea of the comprehensive work that have been put in by these units and the successes reaped as a result of this work. As I have written in a soon to be published book, I am convinced that the values many of us hold dear, peace and tranquility in our communities, infrastructure which will enable the intrepunerial spirit of our people to soar, and legislation which would make each and every citizen feel he/she has a stake in our country, are not the values the country’s political leaders espouse.

So like the Operations Squad (Eradication) based at the old passport office on Spanish Town Road, The Ranger squad out of the Mobile Reserves, the Crime management Unit headed by Renato Adams, The Ocid squad and others we are now told that Operation Kingfish is gone. This has confirmed what I stated above, our leaders do not want to end crime they want the status quo.

The Jamaica Gleaner saw it this way.

KINGFISH KILLED:

http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20120624/lead/lead4.html

The crux of the matter as it relates to Kingfish is that it worked in securing investigative integrity and professionalism in its pursuit of high-profile criminals.

High profile criminals such as Donald (Zekes) Phipps, local Matthews Lane punk and Joel Andem of the Gideon warriors gang are doing time as a result of the work Kingfish did, according to the report.

The Country’s national security minister Peter Bunting seem happy to say “I didn’t do it, it was someone else”. Bunting was so intent on putting distance between himself and the disbanding of Kingfish, he went on suggest that the unit may have been dismantled before his predecessor Dwight Nelson’s time as security minister. Well there you have it! If it works or was started by the other party they do not want it, as such it leads cynics like myself to argue and conclude that the reason it was disbanded was that the country’s political leaders want to retain the status quo. According to the report,Les Green, Assistant commissioner of police, and a British Transplant, is at a loss as to the reasons for the disbandment of the unit. Here’s what Green had to say:

I don’t know why it got disbanded, but it has been quietly disbanded and no longer exists … . It was never announced or formulated as a closure.”

He argued that politics and jealousy played a part in the demise of Operation Kingfish, which was an intelligence-driven initiative, involving hand-picked members of the local police force working closely with their counterparts in the United Kingdom and the United States. Juxtaposing that with the stark realities of what’s happening this week, over 10 people were slaughtered over this week-end with 4 killed in August Town Saint Andrew alone. http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/Blood-runs-in-August-Town — 4‑year-old-boy-grazed-by-flying-bullets_11790969

Police in the community of August Town

The blood-letting is continuing, the police are no closer to ending gang violence and the wanton slaughter of the nation’s 2.7 million people than when the commissioner charged his divisional commanders to end them. The Government for its part have no clue and seem to be saying Kingfish was on its way out before it came on the scene. There is only one problem with the position taken by the Government, they are in government. Even if Kingfish was being phased out, as a policy of the previous government, the opposition would have known this if they understood the dangers of crime. They surely could have devised a crime policy which included the energizing or resuscitation of operation Kingfish. Inner city communities like August Town where these killings are happening would have been cleared of the very urban terrorists that the People’s National Party, gave breathing room to, when they did not vote to extend the limited state of public emergency.

The chickens have simply come home to roost, and both sides of the political divide have dirty hands. It’s interesting to hear the minister now offering platitudes to the families of the deceased. Will assurances from Bunting and Ellington bring back their loved ones? The answer is no, and as the community grieve it must come to the realization that the silence they engage in when crimes are being committed against their neighbors is the silence that is killing them. The Police in Jamaica are largely capable of arresting only for offences committed within their view, they are horrible at investigating, intelligence gathering and case preparation, so for all intents and purposes the murderers who killed those people in August Town over the week-end and the other 6 in the other parts of the country, may rest assured they will never be held accountable for their crimes. This is the new normal in Jamaica, as economic conditions worsens world-wide, small economies like ours should be looking to attract all kinds of investments, our country should be rolling out the red carpet to Jamaican nationals wishing to return home. Instead the government has once again reneged on its core responsibility which is to protect its citizens. Disbanding operation Kingfish has been only one step in the total abdication of that duty, and both political parties are responsible.

WHERE IS THE INVESTIGATION IN THE DEATH OF SSP DATHAN HENRY

Well over a month after the death of Senior Superintendent of Police Dathan (Duffy) Henry, the Jamaica constabulary force (JCF) has failed to tell the country what was the cause of his death.

The last thing we heard from the police was that they were awaiting the result of the toxicology test with a view to determining whether Senior Superintendent Henry was indeed poisoned, as the street believe.

Senior Superintendent Dathan (Duffy) Henry

As I first blogged, I received word that SSP Henry died on or around May 6th, of this year, since then, rumours have been swirling that mister Henry was poisoned.

I have no evidence which would verify or disprove this rumor, but the police seem to believe that there may be something to it, or that he may have died other than a natural death due to the fact that the coroner ruled the cause of death inconclusive.

In the second blog I wrote on the death of my friend ‚I also questioned the medical fraternity . I wondered whether that sector let Dathan Henry down by failing to diagnose his condition on the one hand, or failing to tell his family that they are unable to diagnose him professionally and advise them to get him the help he needed in a timely and expeditious manner, which could have produced a different result.

I also outlined some things the police could be doing as they await the lab reports. I went on to opine that the longer it took to nab a suspect in a crime, the more likely it is that no one will be held accountable for that crime.

I am conversant that until the police receive the toxicology report they will argue that they are unable to commence a homicide investigation.

On this particular point I humbly disagree, what if the toxicology report indicate there are no traces of toxins in his body , does that rule out poisoning as a cause of death?

The answer is NO!

Today there are numerous types of toxins and pharmactical drugs which are almost impossible to detect even in the most sophisticated crime labs in developed countries like the United States , Canada , and other developed countries.

As such ‚the police must commence and conduct a vigorous homicide investigation irrespective of what the toxicology report says.

Too many Jamaicans have been murdered and no one held accountable for their deaths, sometimes due to absence of evidence, intimidation of witnesses, lack of investigative skills and or will, and a resignation to the fact that the person is already gone and so everyone moves on.

If we are to change the culture that is the norm in Jamaica, the police must do the necessary work to bring the killer/killers of Dathan Henry to Justice if he was indeed murdered.

Where there is smoke there is fire, people on the streets are saying SSP Henry was murdered, it is up to the police to ensure that if this is true that his killer is brought to justice, even it means they have to arrest one of their own.

Fifty Years After Doctor King’s Speech:

As the United States enter another election season the choices couldn’t be more stark, between the two parties and presidential candidates.

The year is 2012 but listening to some of the rhetoric coming out of the mouths of some republicans, one wonders if America reverted to the 1950’s?

The election of Barack Obama has peeled away the scab of racism in America revealing the infected, festering wounds many felt were long on the mend.

Did the elevation of a black man to the most powerful office in the world mean that finally America had put its putrid racial animus behind it? Many felt that America had finally turned the corner, as they watched the tens of thousands gather on the national mall to witness the historic swearing-in of the first American president who wasn’t a white man.

President Barack Obama Attorney General Eric Holder

Little did the left and the idealists know that the events playing out on the national mall that day would unleash some of the most vapid and vitriolic rhetoric and lead to actions some insists are acts of domestic terrorism.

Fifty years after the historic “I have a dream” speech Dr. Martin Luther King gave before he was assassinated, a black man is the president and a black man is Attorney General of the United States of America.

How could that not piss off old white men like the US senator from Texas John Cornyn,or senate minority leader Mitch McConnell from Kentucky?

US senator John Cornyn ® Texas.

The list of angry white people mad as hell at what transpired November 2007 transcend gender , don’t forget Arizona’s shining example of a governor, Jan Brewer wagging her finger in the face of the president on the tarmac as he touched down in that state.

The list of despicable moronic behavior and utterances have really revealed to the world the base crassness of some of America’s most senior elected officials within the republican party.

We are used to gutter behavior from the rabble at FOX. We have grown accustomed to the gutter bile coming from hate mongers like Glen Beck, Michelle Malkin, Rush Limbaugh, and the trash on hate radio. Those are people so unhappy with their miserable lives that they have to take out their anger on other people.

What we should not be comfortable with is the same toxic bile coming from those who get paid with our tax dollars, the like of Cornyn ‚McConnell and others.

The current persecution of Eric Holder by the oversight committee in the House is an attempt by the far right to discredit the president using Daryl Issa . Issa bragged that he would be conducting hearings every week into the Obama Administration, but has thus far had zero to investigate.

In calling for Eric Holder’s resignation John Cornyn stated as part of his reason Holder’s attempt to prevent states from preventing voter fraud. What that translates to is the Attorney General’s steadfast defense of voters rights against republican assault in various states.

The question then is what kind of America does these old white men envision, do they believe that the America of the 50’s will return?

Where do they intend to take the country? because make no mistake about it, as bad as the republican party has been in recent decades, America needs the republican party.

It is imperative that the republican party cleanse itself of the ugly graffiti of racial polarization if it intends to compete in national politics in the coming decades.

The example being set by Cornyn ‚McConnell and others is bound to relegate their party to being a southern party which would have devastating consequences for the country.

These men if I may call them that, must now realize they way things were are no more , and they are not coming back, Latinos , blacks and other ethnic minorities now make up the majority.

If they love this country as they say they do, they will put racist idiocy aside and work to make this an even better country, not just for some but for all Americans.

Romney Is A Liar Plain And Simple:

Republican presidential candidate Willard Mitt Romney is running for president on the campaign strategy“I am not Obama.

Noticeably absent from Romney’s strategy is truth. Romney has made several claims on the campaign trail ‚and on the garbage spewing FOX network which have been fact checked and proven to be lies. Not to be deterred Mitt Romney refuses to allow truth to get in the way of his narrative, so he doubles down , knowing that as he speaks he is in fact telling lies.

Romney state time and again that the president goes around the world apologising for America. It’s a lie.

Romney goes around the country including in Cincinnati Ohio June 14th stating that president Obama has not negotiated a single trade deal.

It’s a lie, President Obama negotiated trade deals with Panama, South Korea and others.

He said the president instituted a stimulus that did no good.

It is a lie hundreds of teachers , fire-fighters, cops, and other workers owe their jobs to the stimulus.

Romney’s litany of lies is stunningly dishonest, yet he keeps repeating the same debunked malarkey.

Hannnity of FOX misinformation

Romney goes around the country stating that president Obama stated if he did not get unemployment under 8% it would be a one term proposition for him. That’s a lie , a statement taken out of context. Mitt Romney tells the American people time and again lie after lie, after lie and when he is called out on them he continues as if truth does not matter.

So then, there must be a bigger strategy behind Romney’s lies. Bear in mind that the single most identifiable thread which runs through republicans is that they are pathological liars. I am still left scratching my head at the bold-faced utter dishonesty of Mitt Romney, someone who is offering himself for the most powerful office in the world, the American presidency.

At play here is the Carl Rove orchestrated Orwellian strategy, tell as many lies as possible make the president scary as hell, bombard the airwaves with swift boat type advertisements the likes of which they ran against John Kerry, funded by the likes of State of Israel zealot casino tycoon Sheldon Alderson, and other members of the one percent.

Reports are that Alderson has pledged to spend, get this , one hundred million dollars in his quest to buy the elections for Mitt Romney.

Thanks you Supreme court for the gift of citizen’s united , corporations are now people, the votes of the average man is worth nought, nada, zero.

Those who have the most money will be able to shape the narrative, the airwaves will be bombarded in so-called swing states to the tune of what analysts say will be over a billion dollars spent in advertising.

Obama won the 2008 election by roughly 6 percentage points over Arizona Senator John McCain. Some numbers crunchers argue if race was not a factor Obama would possibly have won by an overwhelming 17 point margin, something similar to Reagan’s win over Jimmy Carter, 1980.

Obama won largely on the massive turn out of college age young people who casted race aside, Hispanics and African-Americans. President Obama is fighting an up hill battle this time, he is the incumbent. There is no evidence there will be anywhere near the turn out he had from those groups as they did in 2008.

Romney’s handlers understands this , and they are running a disciplined campaign, a campaign of lies , but disciplined indeed. They have managed to run their candidate without him having to give specifics on any of the many things he has promised. He appears on the Rupert Murdoch’s organ of misinformation where they repeat the campaign talking points to him and he nods and smile.

Romney has not outlined an economic plan that make sense, in fact he has not been allowed to speak to the press, surely his handlers have not yet figured out how to convince the already low information electorate how he proposes to cut spending, give tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans and grow the Pentagon’s budget. It is impossible to do, yet he has been running around the country spewing the same garbage and has not been held to account for his lies.

What Does Dudus Coke Sentence Mean?

THE IMPOSITION OF23-YEAR SENTENCE ON CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL (DUDUS) COKE BY FEDERAL JUDGE ROBERT. P. PATTERSON, TO RUN CONSECUTIVELY, SENDSSTRONG MESSAGE TO THOSE WHO FEEL THEY CAN CIRCUMVENT THE LAW WITH IMPUNITY.

Hidden in this sentence, notwithstanding, is a deeper, more significant lesson for Jamaica. The 23-year sentence to run consecutively, not concurrently, is significant for Christopher Coke. The greater significance for Jamaica and Jamaicans, however, is that America’s Justice system is not the ridiculous criminal-friendly farce that obtains in Jamaica. Every defendant charged with a crime should be given a fair and impartial trial; justice demands it. On the other hand, those who have been victims of crime also deserve a rigorous defender of their right to be safe in their persons, their homes, or wherever they lawfully exist. That is where the criminal justice system comes in to adequately investigate, prosecute, and effectively apply necessary and sufficiently punitive and rehabilitative remedies. Years ago, in another forum, I wrote that Jamaica would submit to the rule of law in this new world order. I am vindicated to some degree, though still not satisfied, that the people at the top of these criminal empires are still running around Jamaica untouched.

Police stations burned.Streets barricaded

There is a plethora of different conditions within Jamaica, which created Christopher (Dudus) Coke), Jim Brown, Claudie Massop, Skeng Don, George Pang, Feather Mop, Bury Boy, Jah T, Chubby Dread, Sandokan, Natty Morgan, and the seemingly endless list of infamous degenerates who have disgraced our historical landscape. At the core of it all is a population that largely relishes and feeds on the glorification of all things illegal and worships at the feet of these low-life heathens. The media and the local culture dutifully feed this insatiable, rapacious desire for things illicit, vis-a-vis dance hall music, the theater, etc.

This fertile culture of acceptance is the perfect breeding ground for the existing culture of pervasive and debilitating corruption, which is suffocating the very lifeblood of the country and subjecting generations of our nation’s people to a life of abject poverty and many deaths. It was the culture that produced Dudus Coke. Not that he is without sin, as even he has alluded to, but had the system effectively punished and rehabilitated him when he started down that path, he would certainly not have been in that courtroom yesterday hearing those dreaded words from Justice Patterson. Despite being arrested and charged several times, Jamaica’s criminal coddling judges turned him back onto the streets without penalty time and again. How could he not feel above the laws?
The system that failed the people Dudus transgressed against also failed Dudus. The Culture that fomented and maintained a state within a state is exponentially responsible for those who died at his hands directly or indirectly. Even as Coke now has time to contemplate his actions, countless others are doing what he did in the same tiny piece of real estate with its 2.7 million inhabitants.

Dirty politicians, Judges, and other highly-placed bureaucrats, a woefully inadequate broken justice system, from top to bottom, an impotent, timid, lap-dog police force, and a cheer-leading media add a criminally complicit civil society, and the result is a perfect storm, which creates a country that breads the Christopher Cokes of this world. As some seek to demagogue Christopher (dudus) Coke, we would be well reminded that if Jamaica had clearly established laws, judges who understood their responsibilities in applying those laws, and police who were capable and willing to investigate, we would not have this conversation. Christopher Coke would have no choice but to be a legitimate businessman.
As we Jamaicans express our varying opinions on this subject, we are reminded that there are more people in Jamaica doing the very same things that he was sentenced for. Some people occupy positions of power, such as politicians, businesspeople, lawyers, and people from all walks of life. Dudus had a chance to do the right thing. He argued with Judge Patterson that he was a benefactor for his community; no one denies that. Many in Jamaica see that kind of largess as worthy of sainthood. Once again, that mentality is derived from the glorification of evil, all things criminal, and an unexplainable acceptance of criminality. Sentences meted out for infractions to the most egregious crimes and acts of terror send a message that the state does not attach any significance to crime’s corrosive and destructive consequences. The Media, or what passes for one, does significantly more damage than good to an already gullible, low-information populace by cheerleading criminality and glorifying criminals. In the end, those who seek fame do so at the expense of the agencies put in place to provide for the country’s security, even as they clutch tightly their American visas, green cards, and, in many cases, citizenship.

Newspaper editors constantly berate law enforcement about every minute detail while they ignore the over 200 gangs operating with impunity in the country. The security forces are hamstrung, too afraid to do anything for fear of criminal prosecution. Those in power who make the rules are the very ones benefiting from crime. Absent the United States and its resolve to get transnational criminals irrespective of where they operate from, Jamaica would have already been a failed state.
Day after day, the number one printed dish-rag (THE DAILY GLEANERfrom its Editorial pages screams out for investigations into the deaths of those who died in Tivoli Gardens. That’s when it can pull itself from homosexual advocacy.
There is never any mention by this garbage dispenser about the police officers killed when Coke’s militia decided to over-power the Jamaican state. There is no mention of the death of members of our military. There is no mention of the death of the innocents killed, as bands of marauding militiamen went on a rampage, killing at will. There is no mention of the police stations torched in the images displayed above. Inimitable and indelible images seared into our consciousness that our beloved country was ever so close to being taken over by filthy hoodlums who decided that the laws did not apply to them. Institution of higher learning churns out so-called intellectuals whose only interest is their own. Higher learning has no nobility, commitment to service, or dedication to nationhood. Those who earn a degree in Jamaica use it solely as an instrument to club others less fortunate. So where will Jamaica be as it enters its 50th year of so-called independence? Will it continue to be a haven for criminality run by two groups of criminals/criminal-supporting leaders who have visas and citizenship for countries where the rule of law is respected? Or will a leader or group rise to take the reins and tell the people your future is in your hands? It is not in criminality or remittance from abroad, and it’s all up to you.

Only time will tell!

MENTALLY BANKRUPT ON CRIME:

As major crimes continue to be a serious issue in Jamaica, the government continue to flail away half-heartedly seemingly bereft of any clue of what needs to be done to effectively fix this cancer.

So what does the Portia Simpson Miller administration do? They announced the formation of another squad within the Police force.

National Security Minister Peter Bunting:

I have followed developments closely, both within the police department and the government on a whole, as it relates to security matters, or should I say the lack thereof ? At this time all I can say to minister Bunting is, “mister Minister are you serious”?

In recent times there have been numerous squads, mister minister what will another squad do that the others haven’t attempted or done?

Flying squad.

Ranger squad.

Eradication squad.

OCID squad.

Crime management unit.

Street crimes Unit.

Operation Kingfish.

And now MOCA, Major Organized Crime and Anti Corruption task Force. Mister Minister, I like a Moca every now and then but this is not the time to have a nice beverage. On a serious note though, it seem that the Portia Simpson Miller is not aware of the old adage “the definition of a fool is, doing the same thing and expecting a different result” .

As I have written in every forum and in these blogs, over and over, and over, the solution cannot be about any of the following.

NO’s

The formation of more squads within the same inept police force.

Putting more cops on the streets, important though that may be.

Arresting more criminals, so they walk right back through the revolving door.

Arming the police force more, important though that may be.

Having more and more police over-sight agencies, important though that may be.

CONVERSELY.

What is needed are clearly crafted laws which seriously militates against crime. Laws which have penalties that leaves no ambiguity, but puts criminals away for extended periods of time commensurate with the crime they commit.

Fixing the criminal justice system, which now overwhelmingly favors criminals and dirty defense lawyers.

Have truth in sentencing, which removes discretion from the country’s far-left leaning liberal judges for certain categories of crimes. This reduces or eliminates their abilities to seek out ways to return criminals to the streets.

Effectively train and equip the police force in intelligence gathering, forensics, and the administration of proper international police procedures and protocols.

What we are forced to conclude is that as we are used to seeing this is just another attempt by political administrations to kick the proverbial can down the road.

This PNP administration came to office after the elections of December 29th 2011, after 4 years in opposition, one would have thought it fair to assume they must have had an opportunity to get a grasp of what ails the country.

Yet they did not table one piece of legislation, even after the first 100 days. Most duly elected governments in other countries strive to accomplish a broad raft of legislative accomplishments within the first 100 days of taking office, if not for anything but for bragging rights.

The Portia Simpson Miller administration came to office with nothing, they simply took power. With this party, it is, as it has always been, all about holding state power.

They have lied about the crash programme (JEEP). They lied about rolling back taxes on electricity, in fact they increased taxes on electricity. They lied about the size of their cabinet, God knows what is left for them to lie about.

The gullible voters have once again been taken for a ride, as they have been on so many other previous occasions. The latest charade is MOCA.

Any stick which forms a new paradigm as it relates to crime and punishment , must be accompanied by a rigorous and vibrant programme of carrots. It cannot only be punitive. My experiences with Jamaican youths who emigrate is that they are no different from any other young people for the most part. They have the same dreams and aspirations of any other group of young people. The same dreams and aspirations I had when I was their age. I marvel at the thought of how many young men have been lost because they have literally been forced into a life of crime out of necessity.

Understanding that there are no magic bullets, no panacea for any problem , I am painfully aware of the limitations of governments as it relates to the delivery of services. This is not a Jamaican problem, it is a global one, it however does not excuse a government from the primacy of its function, that of providing security to its people, as a result of gross incompetence and dereliction of duty.

Governments, to include that which obtains in Jamaica, cannot any longer occupy office just to secure and feather their nests, this kind of fallacy is no longer acceptable and will not be tolerated as is evidenced in places like Egypt, Libya, and now Syria. These are countries to which the word Democracy was alien. Though they are not yet shining democratic beacons on a hill, they certainly have taken their futures into their own hands and overturned thousands of years of oppressive tyranny.

Jamaica beware.

No longer will political parties and would be leaders, be allowed to fatten themselves at the expense of the 99%. Electorates are now far more sophisticated. It behoves the present corrupt regime in power in Jamaica to take note, failing which, their ill-conceived notion that “Jamaica is PNP country” will fast become a grave misnomer.

Fix crime in Jamaica the country’s problems are half solved.

It’s that simple.

LESSONS FROM WISCONSIN

What lessons are there to be learned from the recall elections in Wisconsin if any?

Tea Party installed Governor Scott Walker took a hatchet to the rights of ordinary workers to organize and have collective bargaining. One could reasonably argue that at a time when there are economic conditions which militates against large pay increases and benefit packages, this is not necessarily a bad thing. After all, states, like individuals, must learn to live within their means . Those are perfectly legitimate arguments to make. Personally I never quite understood why government, from county up to the federal level, continue to run large deficits. Each and every house-hold have to manage their fiscal responsibilities. It is unfair and burdensome for Government to maintain bloated wasteful bureaucracies, then force already over-burdened taxpayers to take on even more taxes.

It is not unreasonable in my view, that ordinary working people expect their government to adopt strict discipline in the way it handles its fiscal house, after all every American family is expected to live within its means.

SO THEN, WHAT’S THE PROBLEM WITH WHAT WALKER DID ?

Scott Walker

In order to understand what the fuss was , and continue to be, regarding Scott Walker’s approach, one need to peel back the entire façade which envelopes the Scott Walker persona.

Walker came to office backed by the Tea Party, as we have pointed out before the Tea Party continue to parade as a grass-roots organization. That is the farthest thing from the truth.

The new tea Party came into existence at about the same time Barack Obama was elected president of the United States at the end of 2008. they argue that they are concerned about The expansion of the federal bureaucracy, and run away spending.

Again were those philosophical pure objectives I would be a Tea Party activist. The truth is there are a few things that bear some scrutiny.

(1) When did these things come to the fore?

As I intimated the Tea Party came into being at around the time president Obama was elected to the presidency, so those problems are not new ones which just happened on the scene November 2008

(2) When did the issues dear to the Tea Party become an issue?

Big Government is nothing new, The last Republican Administration expanded the federal bureaucracy, to include , Home-land security.

(3) When did the federal debt become an issue?

The federal government has always been a big spender, the last president had a surplus and a balanced budget on assuming office. He left a ruined economy, two unfunded wars, large tax-cuts for the richest Americans and sky-rocketing deficits.

(4) So why are these issues now that Obama is president?

Well the outrage of the Tea Party started before Barack Obama even could enact one policy, which may not cause consternation to the average no-republican , but it does cause me some heart-burn.

President Bush 43rd actually did the first stimulus, listening to Obama’s critics one would be hard-pressed to hear any mention that president Obama inherited big government and ballooning deficits.

(5) So then what’s the real issue?

I’m glad you asked.

The Obama Administration regulate banks, the Obama administration looks out for the environment, the Obama administration care about the average American.

So why would the Tea Party have a problem with those issues?

Well again I’m glad you asked this question, we have now come full circle. There are people behind the Tea Party’s right-wing populism who need the legitimacy of what many would have you believe is a grass-roots movement.

Enter Billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch, both men are American Industrialists who own and operate companies ranging from Oil to lumber to paper products. Heavy taxation by government cuts into their bottom-line, regulations limits their ability to destroy the environment, and Unions are antithetical to what the Koch brothers want.

Those are the reasons so much money was poured into Wisconsin to keep Scott Walker in power. Those are the reasons the Koch brothers give so much money to Carl Rove’s super-pac American crossroads. That goes to the heart of Scott Walker’s response to a wealthy female donor when he categorically stated that his desire is to divide and conquer, that’s why Walker was busted when he thought he was talking to one of the Koch brothers on the phone.

So the desire of the people of Wisconsin to see fiscal responsibility in government caused them to validate Walker. The only problem is that the republican/tea-party’s plan is nothing more than a Trojan Horse.

WHO SPEAKS FOR OBAMA?

Following on my comments on the upcoming elections recently, I will continue to expand on what I see to be a despicable cowardice and connivance in these upcoming national elections. You may be surprised to learn that I am referring to Democrats.

It has become clear… well at least to me, that there are two distinct wings in the democratic party. The last two term democratic president Bill Clinton has left an indelible impression on the party. He is considered the actual defacto leader of the party.

Hillary and Bill Clinton are still incredibly popular in the party, as such many who were never on the Obama express, whisper that Hillary should have gotten the Nomination over Barack Obama. I’m not quite sure what is the formula for that determination.

George Washington reportedly turned down being crowned King, telling the people that they ran away from the British King and as such America did not need a King, smart man.

However if recent comments by Anne Romney are anything to go by Quote “It’s our time , it’s Mitt’s time” such presumptuous arrogance.http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/outta_my_house_E18WZXIicMJEpoPxHeDscN It seem the Romneys believe that they are entitled to the presidency.

It seem that America is headed the way of a type of plutocratic Monarchy of sorts. Recent Supreme Court decision citizens United has also signalled with some degree of certainty that the country is indeed headed for , if not already a plutocracy.

The Clinton Wing of the Democratic party is the liberal equivalent of the Tea-party in my estimation. Many of them still have not gotten over the loss Hilary Clinton suffered at the hands of Barack Obama.

It was democrats who started the despicable nastiness in Pennsylvania and Ohio during the Primaries between Hillary and Barack. It was so-called democrats who were showing up with the card-board caricatures. After the primaries were over republicans simply picked up where the so-called working class whites in Pennsylvania and Ohio left off.

I make that argument in light of the glaring chasm in the numbers, as it relates to Obama and whites. I believe if these voters were in Obama’s column this race would have been a foregone conclusion.

Bill Clinton did not have to do so much when he was president, he had Paul Begala, James Carville, George Stephanalous and many others including some who were simply in it for what they could get out of it. Hillary Clinton had the entire congressional black caucus as surrogates. The question is where is the congressional black caucus ? Why are they not out there as surrogates for this president?

This month’s job number of 69 thousand, though nothing to crow about is a far cry from when Obama took office and the economy was hemorrhaging 700 thousand jobs per month. Though not fantastic I will readily take 69 thousand jobs created as against 700 thousand lost.

Republicans have blocked the president at every turn, why would the electorate reward them for bad behavior? The jobs bill which Boehner refuses to bring to the floor of the house would , by many estimates create hundreds of thousands of construction jobs, which in turn would create a positive cascading snow-ball effect on the economy.

When that jobs bill is added to the over 2 trillion dollars reportedly in the hands of big businesses, yet they refuse to hire workers , it leaves little doubt that there is a conspiracy afoot to jam Obama’s presidency at every turn.

Big businesses want to return to the Bush years which saw the country’s economy reach the brink of ruination.Nno regulations, and unconscionable craven tax cuts for the 1% . In Mitt Romney they have A perfect empty vessel who stand for nothing and will do the exact bidding of the 1%.

Grover Norquist their no tax guru they all pledged to , have stated that they only need a president to sign the Bills that gets shoveled to his desk. Romney is that person.

The tragedy in all of this is that the electorate, which many credit with being intelligent, seem willing to reward obstructionist republicans who have lifted not one finger to end their suffering and has made it clear that they stand with big business. They seem prepared to give power back to them so they can get back to tax cuts for the rich, deregulation, Ponzi gambling by big banks ‚wild unregulated speculating by other financial institutions, massive destruction to the environment by large corporations, and illegal unfunded foreign wars.

Never mind the monthly shedding of 700 thousand jobs when the president took office.

Never mind almost 4 years of obstructionist tactics from republicans.

Never mind that when he took office no one knew where the bottom would be, when would it end.

Never mind that over 4 million jobs were created under Obama’s watch.

Never mind the auto industry was saved and fully solvent.

Never mind that manufacturing is coming back to America.

Never mind that most of the top tiered leadership of Al Qaeda has been eradicated.

Never mind that the King-pin Osama Bin Laden has been neutralized.

Never mind that this president has passed universal health care , something no other democratic president was able to do.

Never mind that this president has passed several laws and given support to women and people whom have been out of the so-called mainstream before.

Never mind that this president repealed “don’t ask, don’t tell”.

Never mind that this president signed the Lilly Ledbetter act into law.

Never mind that the president ended the Iraq war

Never mind that this president has restored the country to prominence and respectability on the world’s stage.

Never mind that this president in his first term has opened up the market place for green energy and has allowed more leases for oil and natural gas drilling, even more than his predecessor, a drill baby drill president Bush.

Never mind that on the question of immigration this president has deported more people out of this country than any other president. Acquiescing exactly to what the lunatic right wants, yet he is accused of not upholding America’s laws.

There are more than adequate reasons for this president to run on his record and be easily re-elected. Where are the democrats wo are supposed to be out there trumpeting this president’s record of accomplishment?

The fact of the matter is, whenever things fall apart they allow a black guy to have a go at it, ask David Dinkins about that. The programs he started were all credited to the egomaniacal Rudolph Giuliani. Yet most if not all of those initiatives were started by David Dinkins. Yet they have effectively scrubbed the Dinkins mayoralty from the annals of New York City dialogue as if it never happened.

To his discredit neither Dinkins nor the lily liveried democrats have stood up to the pompous little egomaniac Rudolph Giuliani, they allowed them to use revisionist history to distort and destroy his legacy.

They will attempt to do the same to Obama, as they have done repeatedly to President Jimmy Carter. Over and over again they have ridiculed President Carter as an abject failure, the everything that was wrong with democratic presidents, weak feckless, indecisive. The truth is they wont mention the failures they have had, from Hoover all the way down to bush 43rd.

Democrats have allowed republicans to use the military to launch illegal and unauthorised wars all over the globe to satisfy large corporations, and they sign on as lambs to the slaughter, afraid of being labeled weak. President Carter’s presidency was defined by the débâcle in the Arabian desert, had it succeeded his presidency would have been seen in a different light. Never mind that the same principle applied to Obama’s decision to go after Bin Laden the way he did. Had he failed his presidency would have been over, the similarities are uncanny.

Yet despite the monumental risk Obama took to neutralize Bin Laden, entering a sovereign nation(Pakistan) without authorization, (as he said he would as candidate Obama) it did not stop Donald Rumsfeld from saying it was an easy decision to make, a decision which required no more than 15 minutes, 12 of which should have been spent on coffee break.

Donald Rumsfeld former Defense secretary was eventually fired by president Bush, an abject failure.

People on the left do not have real fighters looking out for their interest. Democrats are feckless cowards. Republicans set the agenda , distort the facts and campaign and govern by lies. Democrats do nothing about it.

If president Obama loses this election his party will be responsible, not republicans.

Republicans do what they do, they do not care about anything but power and the cause of the filthy rich. they do not hide that, they allowed the country’s AAA credit rating to be downgraded over a procedural measure,( raising the credit limit). They refuse to pass a bill which would put workers back to work, politics at it’s worse.

If a party can risk the economic viability of the country to further political ends ‚there is no telling what else they will do to gain power.

Democrats will lose if they once again fail to communicate this to the electorate.

WHAT CAUSED THE DEATH OF SSP DATHAN (DUFFY) HENRY ?

On the tragic event of the passing of my friend Senior Superintendent (SSP) Dathan (Duffy) Henry, I was shocked and saddened beyond words.

Duffy was more than what is now refered to as a (senior cop). Dathan Duffy Henry and I served together at the Constant Spring CIB when we were very young men. It is a remarkable thing which separates police officers in Jamaica from other young men. One could join the police department at the tender age of 18 years. most of us joined fresh out of high school. Duffy was one of those young fresh-faced kid. He was not only young , he was smart and willing, he was intelligent, and innovative, I close my eyes and I am right back in that upstairs office hearing Duffy participate in those strategy sessions we had, discussing how we would remove criminals from the streets.

The passing of my friend, shocking, and painful as it has been, has now been exacerbated by news that the cause of death has been ruled inconclusive. This has sparked the rumor mill churning, with the front-line argument being that he was poisoned.

It seem to me that even if he was poisoned, a proper autopsy would not only have revealed that truth, it would also be able to in most cases, nail down with conclusive specificity, the toxin which was used, if there is any truth to that rumor.

IS SSP HENRY’S DEATH AN INDICTMENT ON THE MEDICAL SYSTEM?

What I personally found shocking is the fact that Dathan laid dying in the Kingston Public Hospital and no one figured that they could not save his life. Hospitals and medical staff are sometimes unable to prevent someone from dying. However as someone who has been injured and arrived at a professional medical facility clinically dead, I am inclined to believe in the miracle of modern medicine, not only to diagnose problems but to effect recovery of even the most gravely ill persons.

It seem incomprehensible to me a lay person, that irrespective of what ailed Duffy, that he could not have been better diagnosed and effectively treated. If he could not be treated in the country his family and organization could have sought medical help in another jurisdiction.

WOEFUL INADEQUACY:

One night in 1987 I was shot on Blackwood Terrace off Red Hills road as I went to investigate threats against a resident of that community, that resident was also shot in the stomach and back. I was able to neutralize that threat that night and remove a 357 magnum from the streets.

Bleeding from a wound to my hip, my shoes filled with blood, I took the gentleman to the Kingston Public Hospital for treatment. Still bleeding profusely I helped to lift him and took him into what obtained for the emergency room, the gentleman was screaming in pain on the stretcher as we wielded him in. There was a man Sitting behind the counter with his feet up reading the Gleaner, he did not bother to glance in our direction despite the agonized groans coming from the man on the stretcher.

No one ran out to help us, no one bothered to pay any attention to us, I identified myself and asked for help, no one moved , I again asked for help and no one moved to help us , and the man kept reading his paper. I then lost it and went ballistic, upon which the Gleaner reading moron jumped up and identified himself as the on-duty doctor. I won’t bother to tell you what I said to him before I left for the University Hospital to be treated.

I obviously was not surprised yesterday when my blog-post in that (dish-rag) the Gleaner was not posted. That incompetent poor excuse of a doctor was in fact reading a copy of the Gleaner, go figure.

SEEN FIRST HAND:

As a young detective one of the requirements of the job was to be present at autopsies in cases where I was actively engaged in an investigation. I would also attend when asked to stand in, which also required me to potentially testify in any court proceeding that may potentially emanate from that enquiry. In the way modern autopsies are conducted today with appropriate professionals, technologies, care, and purpose, backed up with scientific analysis of the most minute detail , those Jamaican examinations were as far as the East is from the West.

What obtained then as I am told obtains now, is as I saw it. A porter cuts open the corpse, the doctor stays two yards away and jots a few things on a note-pad, seemingly put-off at the possibility of touching it. That’s the way an autopsy is done in Jamaica. The truth is these grave disservice are passed off as professional behavior because the people do not demand better.

INEPT POLICE:

The Jamaica Constabulary Force for its part, is now asking people to come forward if they have any information regarding what seem to be a now active criminal investigation.

The INEPT Police Department has now confirmed that there is an active investigation going on by its Major Investigations Task-Force (MIT). They are also asking people to come forward and tell what they know if anything at (92−922−−5344) or (92−948−9181) The police have also stated that they are awaiting the toxicology report to come back.

As the police await the toxicology report, what are they doing in the meantime? If the Hospital did not have the capacity to save the life of my friend while he laid there for days dying, cannot determine what caused his death, what makes them think that this fiasco of a system will have the capacity to determine cause of death, through toxicology tests done by the same inept system?

(1) What about retracing the steps SSP Henry took prior to him falling ill?

(2) How about talking to everyone from family members to every person with whom he may have met over the previous 48 hours prior to him having fallen ill?

(3) How about talking to all of his colleagues with whom he may have met over the same period?

(4) How about literally walking in Dathan’s shoes backwards, in an attempt to see with whom he may have had a drink, shared a lunch, had a casual cocktail, if any?

(4) Surely in this day and age even in Jamaica there are security systems that may tell more than the inept police are willing to acknowledge.

(5) How about looking at insurance to see who the beneficiaries are?

(6) How about looking at people within the Department with whom he may have had a disagreement?

(7) How about looking at criminals who may have had it out for Henry because of his vigilance in disrupting their activities, who potentially may have planted people into his inner circle, to include police officers?

(8) How about looking to see if anyone may have threatened his life, at any stage, prior to his death?

(9) How about looking at Hospital staff to see who may have been administering treatment to him in an effort to see if they were compromised? His initial hospitalization may not have been life threatening, he however could have been done in right there in the hospital.

There are a lot real detectives could be doing in the interim as they await toxicology results. The longer an investigation drags, the less likely it is that a positive conclusion will be reached. Twiddling thumbs is not an option . If the Jamaican Police cannot investigate the death of one of its brightest most celebrated stars, how can it expect to engender trust and confidence in the Jamaican people?

Romney Being Handled By The Orange Haired Clown.

Donald trump
Donald trump

I don’t agree with all the people who support me. And my guess is they don’t all agree with everything I believe in,” Romney told reporters before flying from California to Colorado Monday evening. “But I need to get 50.1 percent or more. And I’m appreciative to have the help of a lot of good people.”

These are not the words of your lowly blogger,They are the words of the esteemed Republican candidate for president Mitt Romney. Romney uttered these words on his campaign charter, in response to questions from the press regarding his scheduled Tuesday fund-raiser in Las Vegas Nevada with (Carnival Barker) Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has positioned himself as one of the most well know bigots in America. Trump despite his wealth, has shown that money cannot buy class. He continues to fan the flames of racial hatred with the birther issue, which essentially questions the legitimacy of President Obama’s presidency, by suggesting that he was not born in America.

After the president released his birth certificate and the verbal stomping he administered to him , in which he labeled him a carnival barker, some thought that intelligent people would be free from the bigoted rants of the orange-haired-buffoon.

That has not turned out to be so, Trump an ego-maniacal narcissist has attached himself to the Romney campaign like a parasitical crustacean. Trump knows that there really is no bad publicity, he is in it to improve the trump brand, as such his television show gets ratings and most of all he gets to hear his name mentioned on television. Trump fancies himself as a major player in American politics, after all, why not? Citizens United has basically put the presidency up for the highest bidder, why should he, the (carnival barker) not be a player?

Trump does not care what happens as long as he gets the aforementioned, of course it would be better for him if Romney gets into the White House where they want environmental regulations rolled back and the vigilance of the environmental Protection Agency done away with. This kind of mentality is not confined to Trump there are dozens of filthy rich billionaires who are willing to put their money where their mouths are to defeat Obama. They seriously see citizens united as an opening of the door to purchase the elections.

Romney knows that the far right-wing of the republican fringe is suspicious of him, as such, he is prepared to hold his nose and cozy up to Trump, he is willing to roll the dice to see what traction he may squeeze out of the birther issue. It is also convenient for Romney to say what he said in the opening statement of this blog. So he gets to say the nasty things he would like to say about the president, using surrogates, while keeping his hands clean. How successful will this strategy be? The birther issue has been debunked, as such those who espouse it are seen as racist vile creatures of the lunatic fringe. Like everything else Romney tries to have it both ways.

Conservative icon George Will blasted the orange-hair-buffoon on television last week saying quote:

I do not understand the cost benefit here” “The cost of appearing with this bloviating ignoramus is obvious, it seems to me.” “Donald Trump is redundant evidence that if your net worth is high enough, your IQ can be very low and you can still intrude into American politics,” Will continued. “Again, I don’t understand the benefit. What is Romney seeking?”http://www.theblaze.com/stories/romney-refuses-to-repudiate-trump-on-the-birther-issue-poll/

I think that what we have heard coming out of Mitt Romney’s mouth is the most despicable vile but cowardly and reprehensible type of politicking imaginable. From Rush Limbaugh’s onslaught on Susan Fluke, to not standing up to the hate mongers who demanded that his very qualified gay foreign policy adviser step down, to the woman who called the president a traitor, no courage from Romney. Many people are wondering when will Romney have his sister-Souljah moment. But if what Romney had to say on that airplane is any indication of his character, we will have a long wait.

Donald Trump is a clown , if Romney allows himself to be handled by a clown, what does it make Mitt Romney?
