The Race Issue Part 2 !

President Obama spoke on race again on Friday July 19th in impromptu remarks from the Brady briefing room. Obama said that before becoming a senator, he himself experienced walking across the street and hearing the locks click on doors, among other similar situations. It’s that set of experiences, he said, that informs how many black Americans interpret what happened in Sanford, Fla.

The President’s comment was particularly revealing , even as it was sincere. That the most powerful man on Planet Earth, the leader of the free world was not unscathed or un-scarred by America’s intrinsic racism is telling. It brings into focus just how at risk black men are in America.

What the President forgot is the racism did not stop when he became a Senator.

1) It was Racism which made them demand his birth certificate. Despite his accomplishments at Occidental College to Columbia University, and onto Harvard Law school, where he went on to becoming the President of the Prestigious Harvard Law Review. First black elected to that position, the highest student position at Harvard Law School. The ignoramuses who kept the nonsensical birther issue alive are nothing but present day show me your paper vigilantes. Interestingly when they are all lined up their combined IQ amounts to that of a jackass.

images (20)2) It was race which made imbecile congress-man Joe Wilson of South Carolina infamously shout, ‘You lie” as the the president delivered the State of the Union address. A crass ‚uncouth act of disrespect, never before seen in that body when a sitting president visits to deliver the state of the union address.

The instances of disrespect and racism hurled at this president should have been a wake up call to all men of color, yet as I pointed out in the first article in this series, we have fallen down on the job. There is an argument being made on this issue of race, the central tenet of that discussion is that whites are afraid of black people. Well I wonder why? Now if whites are afraid of blacks it bears examining why they feel compelled to project their fears onto the subject of their insecurities. Are these rational fears Genised in 4 hundred years of genocide visited on black people in the western world? Or are these fears based on new and perceived emerging threats from black men like our president?

Literally every day Police in these United States confront black men with raw aggression, aggression born out of fear they assault and kill them and they are not held to account. Secret grand juries exonerate cops , no trail, business as usual. A San Francisco Bay Area (BART) cop pulls his gun and simply shoots and kill a hand-cuffed young African-America male sitting on the ground, posing no threat to the cowardly murderers in uniform. The cop’s story ? I thought I was pulling my taser. Even if that creep was to be believed , tasing a handcuffed person posing no threat or risk is undue, excessive force, he took that young man’s life.

On November 5, 2010, the cop Johannes Mehserle was sentenced to two years, minus time served. He served his time in the Los Angeles County Jail, occupying a private cell away from other prisoners. That is the price of a black man’s life. He was released on June 13, 2011 and is now on parole.[1Oscar Grant was murdered by a jack-booted thug in uniform.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo0d6Q4RVno.

Trayvon Martin was just one of thousands of young men who are being killed in this country, black men are killing each other at alarming rates, but the police remains one of the greatest threat to the lives of black men. Not just young black men, men of all ages are at risk . One may view hours upon hours of police abuse on YouTube. They are generally never held accountable, the subject of their rage is almost always black men. That is hate.

The Race Issue !

Many on the Right Wing in America are having a disingenuous conversation on race, even as polls show they would rather not have a race conversation.

I understand how they would not want to face their conscience.

After all we have a black President, what more do these Negroes want?

What I find interesting, as they point the finger at black crimes in America’s cities, they are completely oblivious to the four fingers pointing back at themselves.

Two right-wing hater merchants. Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity:

Listening to these brain-dead racists talk, you would think there are no black people in America’s jails. So for the record let me just quickly add my two cents to this debate. African Americans make up roughly 12% of the American population. Yes approximately 12 out of every 100 people in America are black. Over 50% of America’s prisoners are .….? Yes, right again, you guessed it , black. So more than half of all the people in America’s prisons are black.… So to the talking head frauds who talk about black crimes, take a look at these numbers when you talk about black crimes.

Blacks do not necessarily commit more crimes than whites. There are a plethora of issues which must be considered when we talk about black crime. 1) blacks gets prosecuted exponentially more for committing the same offense as whites. 2) when convicted blacks are likely to get longer and harsher punishment than whites who commit similar offences. There is data to show that most crimes are committed intra-racially , meaning whites commit crimes against whites, blacks commit crimes against blacks, seldom does criminals cross racial lines. Also crime and criminality are played up in black communities and downplayed in white communities to give the impression whites are not committing crimes in certain communities. Some members of the NYPD are now coming forward and speaking out about the department’s tactics on stop and frisk, fudging of numbers and underreporting of crimes committed in certain white neighborhoods . If we believe there is institutionalized racist and abhorrent practices within the NYPD, what do you think is happening in some of the smaller town Police departments all over the country? Is it any wonder so many blacks and Latinos are either locked up, or, are in some way tied up in the criminal justice system? This does not even begin to include the social and institutional built-in ills, which are intrinsically a part of the system. No, this is not an excuse, it is a fact. So lets add some context to the conversation, so we may move on to having a serious debate on what happened in Sanford Florida and all over America with black people and black men in particular.

BET NETWORKS JAY ZJZ:

Now that we cleared the air on that, lets have a conversation on race in America without the distractions. I cannot let my white friends off the hook simply because their sensibilities are offended. With that said, black America must take responsibility for it’s own plight, 37 million people is a whole lot of people, when you walk around with your pants hanging off your ass, using drugs, not going to school, yet fathering children out of wed-lock with multiple women, guess what?

They take your voting rights because you don’t use it to keep them in line. They lock you away for crimes you haven’t committed, when they chose not to kill you. They talk about you as if you are inconsequential, because you actually are. When they market to you simply because you are a people who are only about consumerism . When you spend every last dime you have on cheap tacky shiny objects, making people who hate you rotten rich, making them even richer when they disrespect and debase you , telling you they never created their product for you, after you had already made them filthy rich beyond their wildest dreams.

Yes you are inconsequential when you do not start businesses, you do not support black businesses, you do not have pride of citizenship. No pride in your community, do not demand equal services for the taxes you pay. When you claim run-down neighborhoods as your own, even as they take your taxes to the suburbs and exurbs to make schools, fire police and other services better for those living there. Yes you make yourself inconsequential when you do not take care of the children you parent, leaving them to the charge of the state and a burden to those who pay taxes.(The latter not confined solely to blacks)

Black America must make a change as the late Tupac Shakur said , and that change must begin with us, we cannot demand respect when we do not do the things which elicit respect and awe. The problems plaguing black America are not new, they have been here for hundreds of years. Many argue they are going away with each generation, they say things are getting better. Are they really getting better, are the actions of the Supreme Court in gutting the 1965 voting Rights Act symptomatic of positive change? Are the state actions aimed at voter suppression representative of positive change? Are the continued expansion of the prison industrial complex and the closing of schools in black neighborhoods positive and if so positive for whom?

Some entertainers have now come forward and are letting their voices be heard, using their celebrity to bring attention to the plight of black America. Rapper Sean Carter (JZ) had this to say.

If you ask the questions, ask yourself the questions, ‘Didn’t Trayvon have the right to stand his ground?,’ ” he explains. “He was being chased. He fought back. He may have won. That doesn’t mean he’s a criminal. He won. If you chase me and you try to attack me and I defend myself, how can I be in the wrong? How is that right?” This guy went to get Skittles and go back and watch the All-Star game. He had plans,” the rapper added. “He had no intentions of robbing anyone’s homes.”

I don’t know if the killing of young Trayvon Martin will awaken black America to the perilous situation it is in, time will tell.

IT’S ABOUTHATENOT STAND YOUR GROUND !

images (12)

The not guilty verdict in the murder of 17 year-old Trayvon Martin ‚ignited a spark in the nation . I hope it will burn into a flame which will light a brush-fire of consciousness in the way African-Americans see themselves in America.

The parents of Trayvon have vowed to ensure their son’s life will be a catalyst of change for the African-American community. Many point to the class and grace with which Tracy Martin and Sabrina Fulton has handled themselves having lost their son in that manner. This couple is better than me, given similar circumstances those would not be the adjectives used to describe me.

The death of Martin has sparked a debate about “stand your ground laws” in Florida and other states, in some states they are actually called “make my day laws” obviously referencing the old Clint Eastwood movie line. Black leadership has latched onto “stand your ground” laws, as the reason George Zimmerman saw fit to profile and eventually kill Young Trayvon Martin.

Even as they argue among themselves, there are other cases which are just as egregious as the Trayvon Martin case, which are not garnering similar national attention.

images (8)Jordan Davis:

Jordan Davis, an unarmed black teen the same age as Trayvon Martin. Davis, 17, was shot to death by Michael Dunn.Dunn told police that he asked Davis and three other teens, who were parked next to him at a gas station, to turn down their music. Dunn claims he heard threats from the teens and saw a gun in their car. He says he feared for his own safety, and that’s why he grabbed his gun and fired into the vehicle. Police say they found no guns inside the teens’ vehicle and that Dunn fired his gun eight or nine times.

A Port St. Joe, Florida man arrested for shooting his neighbor in the face allegedly admitted his crime to police, with a strange excuse.
Walter Henry Butler, 59, was arrested by Gulf County Sheriffs deputies after shooting Everett Gant, who is black. Gant was shot in the face after he confronted Butler about using racial slurs to address children living in the apartment complex where the two men reside.Deputies said Butler admitted to shooting the victim, and even called 911 himself to report it, after which he reportedly went back to cooking his dinner. According to reports, officers on the scene said Butler seemed annoyed by the arrest and told officers, “I only shot a ni — r.Butler was charged with attempted murder and a hate crime. He is being held at the Gulf County Jail. Gant is said to be in stable condition and is expected to survive.

These are just two other cases in the state of Florida, where deadly force has been used against African-Americans, by non-blacks. Where is the evidence that these shootings and the accompanying narrative has anything to do with stand your ground laws? The African-American community as always, is chasing after the pennies while the dollars flutter away.

There were no stand your ground laws during the civil rights wars of the sixties, it wasn’t stand your ground laws which killed Emit Till, It wasn’t stand your ground laws which killed Doctor King, or Malcolm X.

HATE DID !

There is palpable and overt hate coming out of the Political Right toward African-Americans, this is nothing new. It became more amplified after Barack Obama was elected President. The expressed and implied hatred they have for Barack Obama has been transferred to people of color in America, and more so to African-Americans. The Republican right has decided that it will not embrace a policy of inclusion. They have employed a scorched earth policy toward people whom they characterize as “other”.

Pundits and talking heads argue that includes all non whites, I disagree. The Republican hate machine has gone after every demographic which formed Barack Obama;s coalition. They went after women who voted overwhelmingly for Obama with restrictive laws at the state levels, limiting a woman’s ability to chose or decide how she handles her reproductive rights.

They went after African-Americans with laws designed to suppress and nullify their vote, with the help of the United States Supreme Court, which savaged the voting rights act for absolutely no reason. This is not all they also have passed laws designed to lock-up and keep black men in prison. They have attacked blacks with food stamps, housing, and in other ways.

images (11)

They have gone after Immigrants by erecting a costly and previously Un-American fence on the Nation’s southern border, belying everything America once stood for. They followed that up with refusing to help Obama pass a Comprehensive Immigration Bill which would allow the estimated 15 million people living in the shadows, unable to fully participate in the American economy.

Immigrants made America great, fresh ideas, energy, and idealism is what made America. They went after young people by refusing to lower interests on student loans. Many of the damage done by Republicans at the state level are done because Democrats refuse to go out and vote in off-year elections as well as gerrymandered congressional districts which wiped out Democratic districts and heavily padded others with white Republicans.

Republican strategy for dealing with their shrinking white-male base is to suppress the black vote, toss out Immigrants put women back in the kitchen and lock up everyone else. They fundamentally believe they do not have to compete for everyone’s vote, if they can pull of the aforementioned.

They do not want a multi-cultural country. Ever since Obama was elected President they have been on a crusade to quote:” take their country back”.

They believe they do not need to reach out to racial minorities. They fundamentally believe in building and maintaining a homogeneous white society. If you have any doubt, watch FOX television or listen to to right-wing talk radio.

What black America is experiencing is hate, not just Barack Obama the man, but for Barack Obama the black-man who occupy the most sacred place they believed impregnable, the last bastion of white exclusivity, the epitome of white accomplishment and supremacy, this is the back-lash.

article-2364493-1AD1B580000005DC-533_634x398Reuters photo:

The killing of African-Americans occur daily. Police do it using laws and policies that are inherently slanted against blacks. The courts do not convict them, in may cases they are not even prosecuted. School districts do it.

African-American kids are locked up when in similar situations white children are sent to the principal. Blacks are arrested and prosecuted disproportionately more than whites for similar offences.

When convicted for a crime blacks receive much more severe prison sentences than whites who commit similar offences. Police officers are much more likely to employ force, to include deadly force against blacks when they interact with them. In fact they approach black men afraid , tense and prepared to use force. In many cases they escalate simple situations that never warranted force , just so they may employ force with African-American men.

In many instance police departments are more dangerous to black men than the Klan ever was. How do you defend yourself against someone who come in the name of the law? The killing of Trayvon Martin did not happen because of stand your ground laws, it happened because of hatred.

The Black community has failed dismally it has fed into every stereotypical box they have been placed in.

(1 Refusing to get educated, going to school , making sure their kids are being educated properly.(2 Refusing to read , not staying conversant with the issues.
(3 Not voting in their numbers, and with the frequency they should.
(4 Not saving and investing in their children’s future.
(5 Not supporting businesses that have owners who look like them.
(6 Not building and maintaining community Organizations to service their needs.
(7 Not supporting each other.
(8 Spending their hard earned cash on companies with owners openly hostile to them.
(9 Allowing themselves to be divided and used against their own, in the furtherance of the agenda of others.
(10 Committing crimes and then blaming others for putting them in jail.

Over fifty years after the struggles of the 60’s and the death of Dr. King and other stalwarts, blacks have squandered the gains made on the blood of our heroes. Many are so stupid they allow their enemies to tell they who their leaders should be, they allow others to use them to tear down those dedicated to their up-liftment.

After awhile we will have no one to blame , that time is here.

America’s Right-Wing Created And Nurtured This Militancy:

People in this country and all over the world are struggling with the insulting and demeaning verdict of 6 women in Sanford Florida, five of whom self-identified as white. Some of us have whistled in the wind for years, that as a people we simply are heading in the wrong direction. I have personally argued that the election of Barack Obama to the highest office in the country, though a tremendous feat of accomplishment and source of great pride, is also a double hedged sword for black America.

173466393.jpg.CROP.rectangle3-large

Let me be clear, there are white Americans who are incredibly decent human beings. Throughout the struggles, spawning slavery to the present fight for basic human rights and dignity, there has been white people right alongside blacks. Even as people take to the streets in cities and towns all over the country, to register their disgust with this verdict, that mosaic is very evident. All throughout that period white people have given much in blood and treasure in the fight against the forces of evil.

There however is a backward half of white America which still harbors what I call a Southern mentality, not that they all reside in the South, far from it, just a mindset which believes in white privilege and supremacy. There may be one living next door to you, in the open they say they are not racist but behind closed doors they latch onto prehistoric and neanderthal concepts about race.

It is that mindset which makes a white woman who sat on the jury, straight-away gave the benefit of the doubt to the accused murderer. This is unprecedented, given that the state of Florida tries children as adults for certain crimes.

Johnathan Capehart: opinion writer for the Washington Post.

Juror B37, whose image was obscured during the interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, said she believes the neighborhood watch volunteer was well-intentioned but became overzealous because of a string of break-ins in his Sanford, Fla. neighborhood. The woman has lived in the Sanford, Fla., area for 18 years and has two daughters – a 24-year-old pet groomer and a 27-year-old college student. During jury selection, she said she had been called for jury duty four times previously but never selected to sit on a case. Martin Literary Management announced Monday that it was representing B37 and her husband, who is an attorney. But agency head Sharlene Martin released a statement late Monday saying she was no longer representing the juror and that the juror had dropped the book idea.http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/07/16/19488815-zimmerman-juror-he-shouldnt-have-gotten-out-of-that-car

Johnathan Capehart opinion writer for the Washington Post spoke to the lack of empathy, that a teenager lost his life for doing absolutely nothing wrong. In fact Capehart argues her entire comments was all about George, this George that, it seemed to be the entire talking points of the defense.

Since appearing on the Anderson Cooper show on CNN where she gave her interview, this juror seemed to have a had a come to Jesus moment, in the less than 24 hours since the interview juror B‑37 released a statement doing a walk-back of sorts from what appeared to be a pro-Zimmerman stance.

Rush Limbaugh:

We in the black community and those who empathize with our situation, must be aware that there is systematic and entrenched racism still in the bowels of this country. There is a them against us mentality which re-emerged on the surface after the election of Barack Obama to the presidency.

Many including elected members of the United States House and even in the senate are guilty, both by co-mission and omission in contributing to this wave of right wing militancy, which has swept over the country since the election of the first man of color to the presidency.

There is nurturing of racial hatred in America on a daily basis, it is fed through right wing talk-radio, and Fox television. It is not simply disagreeing with everything Obama, it has metastasized into much more incendiary rhetoric, Ted Nugent, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity,Glen Beck, Michelle Malkin, Bill Reilly, Anne Coulter, are just a few of the race-baiters. This kind of race-baiting rhetoric does not fall on deaf ears, it is fertilizer and water, on fertile soil. Why would anyone be surprised when the seeds germinate?

US Rep. Andy Harris MD:

Maryland Congress-man Andy Harris had this to say:

We’re hung up on this one case, where this one fellow was, in fact, found not guilty by a jury. That’s the way the American law system works. Get over it,”“We missed the forest through the trees to a large extent with all the huge issues going on in the world,” Harris said.

Clearly a black teenager’s life is inconsequential to this moron, so those outraged by the despicable verdict, should just move on and accept it. It goes to the heart of what I believe is deep rooted institutionalized racism that permeates the entire system, including the country’s legislature. If this is the mentality of those who make the laws, how can we expect this country’s white majority to do the right thing for all Americans?

Since President Obama was elected, whites in red states have made a mad rush on gun stores, buying up guns and ammunition. Those are the sane ones, others have developed a bunker mentality, stocking up on food and survival paraphernalia, preparing for a race war or what they conclude is an imminent cataclysmic event. We may laugh at the lunacy of these imbeciles but the fact is they exist, they are ignorant, and they are heavily armed.

This militarization is not only confined to these lunatics, we have seen the militarization of police departments, America’s police departments are virtual armies. In state houses all over the country the right-wing passed passed laws which are designed to ensure that the will of the majority is circumvented. Even the Country’s Supreme Court has determined that the 1965 voting rights act should not stand as constituted, never mind that it brings fidelity to the process.

This is Obama’s America, the Trayvon Martin case is a wake-up call for all Americans, more so for people of color. If you thought the idiocy of racial supremacy was a thing of the past you are wrong. This case establishes that all men of color are suspects, not just young black men, all men. The militancy that killed Trayvon Martin kill many and incarcerate thousands of black men every year. Police departments do it arbitrarily and nothing is being done about it, if you don’t believe me look inside America’s prisons and jails.

Tomorrow we talk about personal responsibility.

HOW CANCHILD NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO WALK DOWN THE STREET INCOUNTRY WHICH CALLS ITSELF CIVILIZED?

TRAYVON_MARTIN_NEW_PHOTO_1

How can a so-called justice system say to the parents of a murdered child who was on his way home,“the man who stalked, chased, confronted and killed your son did nothing wrong”? That’s whats at the heart of the matter in the Trayvon Martin murder case. That is what mattered, it tells black people exactly who or what they are, on the totem pole in their own country, it’s that simple. Black America may continue to buy into obfuscation and the euphemism coming form even some of it’s own in intelligentsia, to it’s peril. Black intelligentsia had never really been on the forefront of the fight for racial justice in America. So let’s call it as we see it from the streets.

Every day we passionately talk about the rule of law in these blogs. We espouse conformity with societal established rules, we do so even as we fend off critics who say the law many times cannot and in many cases should not be trusted. It is a tough position to play the center. Those who push-back against the rule of law ‚out of disgust for agents of said law, who abuse their trust, are no less important than those who hold fast to the adherence to said laws. We simply have not come up with a better metric to govern our lives. We live by rules, enacted by our representatives, it is a covenant between those who govern and the governed. The law works best when they are applied equally across the board, without fear or favor malice or ill will. That is the basis for the success of what we call democracy, equal protection under the law, that’s it.

EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW, HAS IT EVER INCLUDED BLACKS?

The negro has no rights a white man is firced to respect.

Separate but equal.

To present day, lets take a common-sense look at race in America.

Would a young white male walking in any neighborhood be profiled as a criminal and eventually killed?

If your answer is probably, maybe, or yes, “would his killers be allowed to walk free with no criminal sanction”?

If you answer probably ‚maybe, or yes then this conversation is not for you, you are a liar and the truth is not in you.

Omara:

Mark Omara the criminal defense lawyer for George Zimmerman stood in front of a gaggle of reporters and stated ‚’ if George Zimmerman was black he would not even have been arrested”. I felt Omara had a right to defend his client with everything he has, up to that statement. Omara said that tongue in cheek, he proved himself a liar and a fraud.

What makes Mark Omara a lying fraud ?

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, one in three black men can expect to go to prison in their lifetime. Individuals of color have a disproportionate number of encounters with law enforcement, indicating that racial profiling continues to be a problem. A report by the Department of Justice found that blacks and Hispanics were approximately three times more likely to be searched during a traffic stop than white motorists. African-Americans were twice as likely to be arrested and almost four times as likely to experience the use of force during encounters with the police.

. Students of color face harsher punishments in school than their white peers, leading to a higher number of youth of color incarcerated. Black and Hispanic students represent more than 70 percent of those involved in school-related arrests or referrals to law enforcement. Currently, African-Americans make up two-fifths and Hispanics one-fifth of confined youth today.

African-American youth have higher rates of juvenile incarceration and are more likely to be sentenced to adult prison. According to the Sentencing Project, even though African American juvenile youth are about 16 percent of the youth population, 37 percent of their cases are moved to criminal court and 58 percent of African American youth are sent to adult http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/race/news/2012/03/13/11351/the-top-10-most-startling-facts-about-people-of-color-and-criminal-justice-in-the-united-states/

I warned before the verdict was in that a jury of five white, gun-owning women in Florida would totally and unequivocally exonerate George Zimmerman. Why would Tracey Martin and Sabrina Fulton expect anything different from a bunch of white women in a locality where some believe that people demonstrating for a simple arrest of this killer Zimmerman was a quote ” rioting mob” ? Never mind that all protest actions has been peaceful.

In a county where there is a large black population, how come the so-called justice system could not find a single African-American to sit on that jury? What does that tell you? Every day there are violent confrontations all over America between black men going about their business and overly aggressive cops, fully militarized to destroy the subject of their fears dis-comfort and envy, black men, using the laws as cover.

That does not mean all cops are bad , not by a long shot, it also does not mean that we should absolve our black men of responsibility if they engage in criminal behavior. That however should not make anyone second class citizens in their own country.

Tears do not come easy for me, yet last night despite totally expecting that verdict, tears rolled down my cheeks, this killing happened over a year ago, the verdict awoke an anger I never believed still existed in me. The verdict made me tremble with anger, as a father of four sons, I trembled out of fear, not fear of what could happen to my sons, not fear of what could happen to me, but out of fear of what I would do if someone ever did that to one of my sons.

Black America can talk about being sad all they want, they may talk about being dissapointed all they want. You cannot continue to pay homage to a system which kills you , locks up your children , your fathers, your daughters disproportionately and with devious intentions.

Blacks must stop being energized by victim-hood, you cannot expect your oppressor to be your savior.

BLACKS BEING RETURNED TO THE PLANTATION.

If a building is structurally unsound the thing to do is to shore it up as best you can, get the engineers in to do an assessment, then get to the task of solidifying the structural imperfections of
that building.
That’s common sense right?
Then why do you believe the United States Supreme Court did exactly the opposite of that common sense principle?

Tampering with the Voting rights act!
What the Supreme court did in ravaging the 1965 voting rights act was exactly the opposite of what is common sense.
They took out a fundamental piece of the act which makes sure that the federal government has oversight of states which has had a history of voter suppression.
What they did was effectively said to the dysfunctional Tea-Party controlled congress , ” You go ahead and fix voting rights, but in the meantime we will just go ahead and remove the effective
protections which have been in place for the past 48 years “.

Members of the Supreme Court
It is important to note that neither Shelby county nor the State of Alabama has shown how the federal supervision of their activities has affected them negatively.
This must then lead to the conclusion that the desire is to suppress the vote.
The United States Supreme Court did not do this in a vacuum. This right-wing court, led by John Roberts knows exactly where it wants to take the country. Roberts has been on a path to erasing voting rights
since he served as a young lawyer in the Reagan Administration.
As I wrote a few days ago the court knew exactly what it was doing when it eviscerated the voting rights act just a day before it tore down the foundations of what most of us understood marriage to mean. It was a callous and reprehensible act of bigotry aimed at subjugating people of color back to the trenches of racial disenfranchisement.

They were patently aware that their ruling eviscerating The defense of marriage Act,would completely overshadow their callous and craven act of the previous day.

Many states which had voter suppression laws in the works are now running to ensure that they are immidealty instituted. Nothing stands between them and their wish to make sure that black people cannot vote.
In States like Florida, black and brown voters were forced to stand in line an average of 20 minutes longer than whites to exercise the same franchise. Many states cut the amount of days that preceded voting day, these early voting days allowed people living in heavily populated areas the opportunity to vote.
Common sense right?
So we look at who lives in these areas of high population density. The answer is blacks and Latinos. They have also limited or eliminated election day registration of voters. Most galling they have eliminated Sunday voting in some states, this is the most brazen attempt aimed at African-Americans who used Sunday voting, coining the term “souls to the polls”
Former president Bill Clinton said the attempts he saw at voter suppression the last national cycle was the worse he had witnessed..

Georgia Rep: John Lewis.

African-Americans will have to fight the fights that were fought 50 years ago because they stopped the fight, they believed the battles they won was the war. Looking at Georgia Congressman John Lewis brought tears to my eyes, as I watched him talk about the road he traveled.

African-Americans sat on their behinds and pretended that all was well. Not getting educated, pants sagging, dope selling Ebonics slanging, children after children out of wedlock, refusing to read and avail themselves to what is happening in their own country.

When you let others decide for you, they decide for themselves, that’s exactly what they did. Are we to repeat the beatings John Lewis took, what about Medger Evers, Martin King, and Malcolm X ? Where will we find these men to sacrifice once again? What about Emit Till, and all the Martyrs that who gave themselves to the cause, where will Black America source these heroes once again?

A people who so quickly forgot what they went through was condemned to find itself right back there, The next generation if educated are too sold out and if not, are far too stupid. We have a problem.

The Mindset Which Killed Trayvon Martin:

I have four sons my eldest is now 26 years old, I guarded my sons like a Penguin guard it’s eggs, I never acquiesce to the argument that mothers are more nurturing than men. I nurture my sons, I discipline my sons, the two are not mutually exclusive.

The Trayvon Martin cases commenced in a Florida court-room today. I watched Tracey Martin use a piece of napkin to wipe tears from his eyes as prosecutors and defense attorneys talk about his son, neither men knew Trayvon, yet they will explain to an all white female jury, who Trayvon Martin was. Some women from the very pool have expressed the view that George Zimmerman the defendant who killed Martin should go home because he is innocent.

george-zimmermanOne female juror referred to the peaceful demonstration of interested parties who demanded the arrest of Zimmerman as a riot.

Many argue women are kinder, gentler more considerate, so much for that, I guess they weren’t around for Margaret Thatcher, they have never heard Michelle Bachman’s views, in essence race trumps gender.

Yet, despite all of this, Tracey Martin and Sabrina Fulton are forced to sit there and hope that the American criminal justice system will do the right thing, the very justice system which was unable to find a black man or woman , or a black judge to hear this case.

They will have to put their confidence in a system which did not arrest Zimmerman until there was national outcry and outrage. One of the greatest challenge facing young black men in America is their existential fight for survival. Interestingly the threat to their lives does not come from the Klu Kluk Klan as much any more, but from police officers who see them as suspects simply on the basis of being black.

It is an outrage, the recordings of George Zimmerman’s comments to the 911 dispatcher and what he muttered under his breadth, which the prosecutor outlined in opening arguments this morning, goes to a deeper mindset among police in literally ever corner of America regarding young black men.

There are many who will argue that one of the greatest threats to young black men are, young black men, they will hear no arguments from me on that. However people should not live in fear of police officers who are paid to protect them.

Zimmerman was a vigilante, he is a wannabe cop, like many who joined police departments all over America, he had pre-conceived notions about certain people. Even as Tracey and Sabrina are forced to sit and listen to lying defense lawyers try to demonize their son, we must recognize the mentality which caused them to be sitting in that court-room.

It is a mindset which sees young black men as suspects in their black skin.

IMG_0729Sheriff’s Deputies pulled young man over he had slightly darker than usual tint. Observe one cop still in the car , the kid had the driver side window down to speak to him , yet one cop is at the passenger side window demanding that he open that door, that amounts to a breach of this kids rights, it is an illegal search.

IMG_0731

The young man is ordered out of his car and is leaning against the Patrol car with one cop talking to him , he is barely visible, his view of what’s going on is blocked by the cop speaking to him while the first cop is now at the driver’s side digging through his car

IMG_0734

Here’s one cop talking to the young man now visible, while the other continues to rummage through his car without his consent.

IMG_0738In the end what did they find? Nothing illegal, this whole episode happened in my view as I clicked away, my doing so probably saved him a whole lot of headache. As if the illegal search was not bad enough, they lost his Registration somewhere between the seats in the vehicle they drove, they simply shrugged and told him he will have to apply for another.

I saw him the next day he told me he called the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and was told that his registration was lost between the seats of the vehicle . They outlined what it would take to retrieve it, and told him curtly, they were not about to do that. Just one more case of racial profiling and egregious abuse by police officers when it comes to young men of color.

There are never any cries from Amnesty International, none from the Inter American commission for human rights about these every-day occurrences of abuse police visit on young African American and Latino daily. They find themselves in countries like Jamaica where they grandstand and pontificate about Human Rights

LOOKING TO CONTINUE EATINGFOOD:

The following is a letter from Horace levy senior member of the so-called Peace Management Initiative, posted in one of Jamaica’s Daily News Paper January 15th,2013.

Horace Levy

Some questions for the police, the commissioner of police, the minister of national security, and the people of Jamaica: Does every police encounter with criminals have to involve a shoot-out? Must every police encounter with criminals require the use of lethal force? Are our criminals really so more vicious than criminals in other countries that they can only be dealt with by lethal force? How come our more vicious criminals manage to shoot so few police? How much longer will Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington go on supporting, even encouraging, the killings carried out by his men? How much longer will Minister of National Security Peter Bunting go on endorsing the behavior of Commissioner of Police Ellington? How much longer will our citizens go on tolerating this kind of wanton killing of fellow citizens? Is the blood of only a few of us boiling? If this can happen in the first two weeks of the year, what will the other 50 be like?

My letter to Horace Levy:

Jamaican Police Officer on the job in tough inner city community.

I believe that you fundamentally care about what you do at the peace management initiative. I think you are shaped by your experiences, I however must inform you that despite whatever successes you may have achieved from your organization’s efforts, what you do is not a replacement for the rule of law.

Criminals must pay for their crimes, it is through tough punitive measures imposed by society that the delicate balance between anarchy and civility is maintained. You have been known to argue that a large percentage of what the Police characterize as Gangs in our country are in fact what you call ” corner crews”.

With all due respect even if we are to accept your corner-crew designation, as fact, I must inform you that said corner crews and Gangs would not be, and aren’t mutually exclusive. You have a job to do, do your job, stay out-of-the-way of law enforcement.

I know that it is common for those who(“eat the proverbial food”” in situations as yours, feel that the way to continue to eat that food is through the demonizing of the police. I must also inform you that you are not doing neither yourself nor Jamaica any good through your actions.

The rule of law is going nowhere, it will be there ;long after you and I are gone, or I shudder at what will obtain. Do your job and lament the innocent lives lost at the hands of the scumbag predatory monsters who prey on the weak.

You have been at this demagoguery long enough. Just do what you can and let the rule of law do what it is supposed to do, and if that means eradicating murderous urban scum, then so be it. What are the police supposed to do?

Are the police supposed to beg criminals not to shoot at them, are they supposed to refuse to fire back at criminals out of fear that they may kill too many criminals?

Do prepare and make public a detailed proposal that you feel should replace the measures which Police Agencies use all over the World when they are confronted with life and death decisions. Those decisions in most cases must be made in a fraction of a second.

Failing the ability to provide such a detailed proposal, I strongly suggest that you confine yourself to whatever it is you are educated or trained in, if anything.

Of note is your total failure/refusal to mention the innocent Jamaicans whom have been slaughtered, not just since the start of this year but between the years 2001 to 2008, 2001 – 2008
Reported Cases of
Murder : 10, 836
Shootings : 11,229
Rape and Carnal
Abuse: 9119

Not one word from you about the innocent people killed, I suggest you and your friend Carolyn Gomez be very careful, criminals do not care who they kill, you are not immune, they will kill you too. Take care of what you understand and leave Law Enforcement to those trained and tasked with it.

RACISM PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

How does a Political Party ignore demographic trends and stay relevant? I’m asking you, because the truth is I don’t have a clue. As the world slowly pulls itself from a long and protracted recession, the biggest problem to America’s re-emergence to its place atop the heap, as the world’s dominant economic powerhouse, is the Republican Party. It is interesting that at this time in our history the Republican Party is practically eating itself. Parties win and lose elections but it seem that having endured 4 years of Obama, derangement syndrome has set into the DNA of Republicans. My grand parents taught me never to hate anyone. They told me if you spend your life trying to hold someone down you cannot soar as you normally would. A Jailer keeping others incarcerated is himself incarcerated. I can’t say that I learned the lesson of not hating anyone, I’m still working on myself , I’m not there yet. There are a few people who evoke very strong negative reactions in me when their names come up.

My point is that Republicans from top to bottom have demonstrated such hatred for our President that it does seem that they are quite content to wreck the country and their party in the process. If anything I’ve learned from that lesson of hatred, is that when you hate it seem to propel the subject of your hatred to bigger things, higher heights. President Obama argued sometime ago that Republicans would propose legislation, he laments “I say yes I agree with this” and they say,“oh you agree, then we are against it” they would simply back away from their own legislation because he agrees with it. This is lunacy of the highest order, it is ‚madness born out of deep-seated racism. make no mistake, when the old curmudgeon from Kentucky Mitch McConnell said his number one priority was to make Obama a one-term president it wasn’t out of anything but racial hatred. When they selected Michael Steel to head the Republican National Committee that was racial calculation to take down the first black president.

When Sarah Palin the ignoramus from Alaska was unleashed on us by a reckless and cynical John McCain, the rancid bile which intruded on our space, and corroded our beings, the stench of which remains today, it was racism. When Joe Wilson the South Carolina Congress-man shouted “you lie as the President gave the State of the Union, it was racism When low-class Arizona’s Governor Jan Brewer wagged her scraggly fingers in the face of the President on that Tarmac in unprecedented poor taste, it was racism. The emergence of the Tea-Party was racism. The emergence of the most vile despicable low-lives on our national consciousness, Trump, Sununu, Beck , Hannity, Fox News, it’s racism. Four years of Republican intransigence in the House and Senate for absolutely no reason is racism. I could write a book on this subject alone but I will stop here, those interested may go back and read and decide for themselves. The Republican Party which lost two presidential elections in a row have decided that to hell with the wishes of the people, they are going to stick to their guns and obstruct everything that the president proposes aimed at helping the middle class and the poor. It has become clear that they are willing to spite the president at any cost, they are determined to stand in the way of the president’s agenda through the upcoming Sequestration. This will affect. . Less Air Traffic controllers,so longer lines at airports , greater delays and potentially serious risks to the travelling public. . Less meat inspectors, potentially putting the public at risk for food borne diseases.

. FBI and other Federal Agents furloughed including Border Agents, National Security impacted.

. Prosecutors having to let criminals walk for want of prosecution.

. Military readiness impacted.

. Meals for the sick and indigent reduced or eliminated.

. First Responders, laid off or see their hours cut, the list goes on and on.

The strategy for Republicans was to make Barack Obama a one term President, (à la), Mitch McConnell and others, when that did not work ‚the strategy shifted to one of absolute obstruction, thereby creating a continuum of crises. These are the series of artificial crises we have been witnessing , from the debt ceiling debate which saw America’s credit rating downgraded for the first time in history to the present sequestration debate.

This ought to convince everyone that these are self-inflicted wounds designed to create uncertainty, which will have the country lurching as if it is leaderless, then they may pick up the pieces in 2014. Make no mistake, these people are not fools, they certainly don’t give a rats ass about country. They are master connivers and of course they have an entire network dedicated to the dumbing-down of that sector of the population which would like to go back to the days of slavery. The problem with that is that the mindless turds at FOX News and those listening to the other cretins on talk radio are not the only ones being affected by these reckless actions. Clearly this party is totally populated with deranged lunatics, how can any political party be against everything that is in the interest of the very people they say they represent? Simply put, Republicans are sabotaging their own Government and country to spite Barack Obama. The Speaker of the House John Boehner may not be a racist like some of the more deranged nuts, but he does not want to lose his speaker-ship. John Boehner is incapable of handling the caucus he has been dealt, this does not absolve him of culpability as some are quick to suggest he should be. Boehner did not come from riches or plenty, surely he understands the plight of the poor, he understands the challenges of the working man and woman, who gets up day in day out trying to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads.

Tragically Boehner like Marco Rubio, has decided that they are over the wall, so they should now pull up the ladder and prevent anyone else from climbing up. It is a tragic flaw in a man’s character, which makes him comfortable once he’s reached a certain plateau to denounce and disenfranchise others not as fortunate. Nowhere is this flaw more obvious than in Florida’s rookie United States Senator Marco Rubio, had it not been for the benevolence of this great nation he most assuredly would be born in Cuba if at all, no one would know or care about a Cuban named Marco Rubio, yet on the singular most germane issue of immigration, Rubio is to the right of many Republicans. Watching Rachel Maddow , one of the best cable commentators,as it relates to the presentation of facts in my opinion last night, I was stunned to learn that Government has shrunk drastically under President Obama. There has been recessions under Reagan, Bush 42nd, Clinton, Bush 43rd, and now under Obama, the recessions Obama inherited has been arguably more severe than those under each of his predecessors. During all of those recessions Government hiring was crucial to pulling the country out of the hole. This more severe recession Obama inherited, has seen massive public sector lay-offs at every level of Government, further complicating and lengthening this recovery. So what that means is the labels of Communists, Marxists, Socialist that have been attached to Obama, are really not tethered to any factual reasoning but more so because of Obama’s color. Barack Obama cannot come out and say it is because of his race, why this level of obstruction and disrespect is being hurled his way. He cannot say that it is as a result of race why the Republican Congress, Jan Brewer, John Sununu, Joe Wilson, and the other imbeciles are so dead set against him. Nah, there would be too many howls of condemnation arguing that he got elected twice in America. What they will not never tell you, is that in most red States Obama lost the white vote by 80 to 90 percentage points. By the way that’s racism.

Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King

Former Republican Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of America’s Military blasted his party as intolerant, as he wondered how senior members of the party could remain silent in the face of some of the things which have been said about President Obama the Nation’s first African-American President.

I think what the Republican Party needs to do now is to take a very hard look at itself” and at the attitude of some Republicans toward ethnic minorities, he said, accusing unnamed Republicans of “intolerance” and “(looking) down at minorities.”

Powell criticized – although did not identify by name — former New Hampshire governor John Sununu, who served as chief of staff for President George H. W Bush and as an aide to 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney, for calling Obama “lazy” after his first debate performance and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin for using the phrase “shuck and jive” in criticizing Obama’s explanation of the administration’s response to attack on the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi.

Racial polarization and hatred is nothing new in America, today Wednesday the 15th of January marked the 84th birthday of Civil Rights Icon the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King. As we celebrate the birth of Dr. King there are many who invoke the name of Doctor King out of one side of their mouths, even though they never supported anything he stood for whilst he lived.

Some of those who invoke his name did not even want a National holiday in his honor. We all saw the dirty underbelly of race in America after it started to appear that Barack Obama could actually become President in 2008. There were ugly visuals in the fields of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Iowa reminiscent of the images we saw in black and white pictures of what happened in the 60’s in America, and those were so-called Democrats, as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama duked it out for the Democratic Nomination.

The venomous vitriolic hatred which greeted Martin Luther King as he traveled around the country 50 plus years ago were no different from some of what happened in 2008 not in the south, but in the Mid West and northern tiers of this country.

Many argue that America is better now, There is a black family in the White House, Gays can get married in some States and can actually serve openly in the military, and the segregated drinking fountains of George Wallace’s Alabama are no more. You will have to decide if the country is better, have the hate dissipated or disappeared or has it simply retreated to a more comfortable place , just beneath the surface?

As the first African-American President Barack Obama has had to deal with the disrespect which has been meted out to Jessie Owens, Jackie Robinson, and other trailblazers who went before him. It is incomprehensible to me that there can be so much hatred within one country where the inhabitants all call themselves Americans.

How can a house so divided stand? The greatness of America did not occur because of the whiteness of America> The greatness of America occurred because of the diverse nature of America, no single group owns America, this land belongs to all the people of America! Yet if you listen to the tone and language of the people on the right you would think that all other people are interlopers, even the people their ancestors came and saw.

This nastiness is not new in American Politics, in fact, there is more than enough precedent for it, throughout this country’s history there have been incredible passions, there have been secession, and even a civil war.

The idealistic notions of a more perfect Union shared by some of us including the present occupant of the White House may be a pipe dream. It may be a bit naive to assume that because we have survived to the year 2013 that somehow, ignorance, bigotry, pettiness, and hatred have not filtered down to present day people.

The truth is, those characteristics are learned behavior patterns which ignorant, bigoted, petty, hateful people pass on to their kids through their words and deeds.

The passions which permeated the soul of the very first patriots who pushed through swamp and forests, through the deserts and over mountains from the Atlantic to the Pacific did not die when Barack Obama took the oath of office, and they won’t die long after he’s gone.

What everyone will have to learn is how to live together, I’m sure Obama himself is very conversant of this.

The nastiness which came to the fore in the General Elections of 2008 in the form of a not ready for prime time Alaska Governor, would be a catalyst for what many characterized as the worst they had ever seen.

That nastiness cloaked in name-brand duds and masked in lipstick, spread like wildfire over the terrain of the Republican Party. It gave cover to many dormant Racists who were hitherto restrained from saying things many considered were behind America before the emergence of Barack Obama.

But they weren’t, it took a semi-literate ignoramus dressed up in fancy clothes and a bright smile to ignite the embers of racial hatred which smoldered barely beneath the surface.

It doesn’t matter that Obama is half white, or was raised by his white grandparents. Rather than make Obama more palatable to the swamp creatures who engage in racial politics, it awakened them to castigate his mother as something other than an acceptable white woman, damaged goods if you will.

Such is the destructive nature of the ignorance of racial superiority, in actuality, they turned on their own. The Republican Party was not constrained from engaging in a type of rancid racial behavior many thought died in the 60’s, they actually turned on the moderate voices within the party and forced them out.

Longtime Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, Richard Lugar of Indiana, Governor Charlie Crist of Florida, former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colin Powell were just a few of the casualties. Though Powell and others like Olympia Snowe of Maine, and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska contend that they are still Republicans, the party has long passed them by.The new acronym for them is (RINO) Republicans in name only.

I will stop here before I bore you further.

I would like to uplift our heroes, Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King, Bob Marley, Nelson Mandela, Malcolm X, Medgar Evers , Huey Newton, Eldridge Cleaver, Harry Belafonte, Myrlie Evers, Coretta Scott King, Betty Shabazz, Jessie Jackson, Al, Sharpton, Mohamed Ali and all of the other fighters for freedom and social justice who have come and gone, each and every generation must carry the torch, freedom is never free.

ON NOVEMBER 6TH. DO NOT EMPOWER LIARS AND RACISTS:

What do we look for in our elected leaders? Are political leaders role models? Are our children supposed to read about our Presidents, Senators, Congress-persons and other leaders with awe and aspiration?

I say you betcha (sic) our children not only look to these leaders with admiration and awe but they look to people less deserving, sports and rap stars, actors , their own peers ‚whatever, why would we expect that our elected political leaders are not viewed in the same light by our kids? Are we content with the air brushing of history? Is it honesty when we make history, his story, rather than the real story? Or are we prepared to heap praise on those who were less than decent because it suits the narrative we want to advance for posterity?

Which brings me to the upcoming elections, many people ‚Republicans and Democrats will tell you frankly that most if not all politicians stretches the truth. In fact politicians with the best character will evade rather than tell the truth and suffer the consequences. It is just not good politics to always be truthful in that line of work.

So electorates in democracies have baked that knowledge into how they view political aspirants, what that means is that they know that all politicians will stretch and or evade the truth, so they cut them some slack to a certain degree. Electorates will also cut political aspirants some slack when they do not outright condemn supporters who say and or do silly things, they understand how critical each and every supporter or group of supporters are, if the aspirant is to be elected.

Some Politicians have strategically denounced certain supporters when it serves their interest, they calculate it gives them broader appeal or legitimacy to a larger audience, or a larger pool of voters.

Bill Clinton had his Sister moment.

The term originated in the 1992 presidential candidacy of Bill Clinton. In a Washington Post interview published on May 13, 1992, the hip-hop MC, author, and political activist Sister Souljah was quoted as saying, “If Black people kill Black people every day, why not have a week and kill white people?”[3] The remark was part of a longer response to the 1992 Los Angeles riots. The quotation resulted in criticism. In June 1992, Clinton responded both to that quotation and to something Souljah had said in the music video of her song “The Final Solution: Slavery’s back in Effect” (“If there are any good white people, I haven’t met them”)[4] while giving a speech to Jesse Jackson Sr.‘s Rainbow Coalition, saying, “If you took the words ‘white’ and ‘black,’ and you reversed them, you might think David Duke was giving that speech.”(Wikipedia).

As a candidate for the Republican nomination for president in 2000, Texas Governor George W. Bush spoke before the conservative Manhattan Institute in October 1999 saying, “Too often, on social issues, my party has painted an image of America slouching toward Gomorrah,” quoting the title of a book by conservative jurist Robert Bork. Bush’s comments were seen as a repudiation of the religious right and an attempt to appeal to moderate voters; commentator Charles Krauthammer called it “an ever-so-subtle Sister Souljah on Robert Bork.”(Wikipedia).

Also in the 2000 campaign for the Republican nomination, Arizona Senator John McCain stated, “Neither party should be defined by pandering to the outer reaches of American politics and the agents of intolerance, whether they be Louis Farrakhan or Al Sharpton on the left or Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell on the right.” This was similarly seen as a repudiation of the religious right; columnist Jacob Weisberg called it “a pungent Sister Souljah moment.”

During the 2008 United States presidential campaign, Democratic Party nominee Barack Obama received much criticism for his association with his longtime Pastor Jeremiah Wright, and Wright’s pattern of provocative statements. On April 29, Senator Obama distanced himself, in a well-received speech on racism, calling some of Wright’s statements “outrageous” and “a bunch of rants that aren’t grounded in truth.”[6][7] South Carolina Congressman James Clyburn said of the speech, “This, I think, offers Barack Obama his Sister Souljah moment”;[7] the speech was also described as “more than a Sister Souljah moment” by columnist Maureen Dowd.[8]

On July 10, 2008, prior to a taping of Fox and Friends, civil-rights activist Jesse Jackson was unwittingly caught by an open microphone whispering to a fellow interviewee, saying that then-candidate Barack Obama was talking down to black people and that he, Jackson, wanted to cut Obama’s “nuts off”.[9] Jackson’s son, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. of Illinois — co-chair of Obama’s presidential campaign — publicly blasted his father’s comments. Dan Balz called the comments “accidental Sister Souljah moment” for Obama, since Jackson had distanced himself from the candidate, without Obama having to take a stand.[10](Wikipedia)

Romney/Ryan

Not only had John McCain spoken out against the most strident in both parties as he saw them, he also corrected a woman at one of his campaign events during the 2008 campaign who accused then candidate Barack Obama of being an Arab, a Muslim and God knows what else.http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llef8ZRTWQo&feature=related.

These are just some of the instances I referenced, political expediency or character, you be the judge. With all that I have said it brings us to the present Republican Candidate for President Mitt Romney . I have written a lot of blogs criticizing this guy, the truth is I don’t like him , that much is obvious.

I have a tremendous dislike for Romney not because he is Republican, I like Chuck Hagel, I like Colin Powell, I like Steve Schmidt. I don’t dislike Romney because of his race, many of our friends are white , and are tremendously decent and nice people. I do not dislike Romney because he is running against the first black President, Barack Obama.

I have a tremendous dislike for Mitt Romney because he is a pathological liar. I was raised to always tell the truth, I have suffered because of liars. That makes me very intolerant of liars.

How does the American public reconcile tolerating a potential president who lies the way Romney does, are the American people willing to trust this great experiment to a man who straight-faced lies about everything he does? Without the pathological mendacity, Mitt Romney is already and still is a dangerously flawed candidate, he has said he doesn’t care about the poor, most Americans are middle class or poor. He said 47% of the American people are moochers who refuses to take responsibility for their lives, these are the very people he is now asking to elect him so he can carry out the wishes of the 1%.

Are the American voters willing to elect Mitt Romney and allow him to destroy the country then seek to resuscitate his image for posterity? I am dumbstruck at the mentality of voters, what does it say about the moral compass of a people who from poll to poll intimate through their support for Romney, that they are willing to cast their vote for a man whose campaign mantra is “We will not allow fact-checkers to decide the direction of our campaign”.

If Mitt Romney is elected what kind of president does the American people expect him to be? Does anyone expect him to be a leader who govern with truth, integrity, honor,or dignity, or will he simply be another Richard Nixon? Why would electors who cast their votes for a pathological liar expect a president who will honor their sacred trust? Doesn’t truth matter? I say it does, we get the Government we deserve, we get the Government that represents who we are.

If we are bigoted ignorant racists we will pretend that Barack Obama is a bad President, we will pretend that the deficit and partisanship is his fault. We will act as though the ills that plague America are of his making, after all he’s black how could it not be his fault? You see the election of Obama did not show America to have graduated from hundreds of years of racial animus, an animus that has eaten away at the inner core of American society throughout her history.

The elevation of Obama instead, revealed the deep ignorant hatred, which exist in people generations removed, from their ancestral purveyors of the most vile type of racial bigotry, but who themselves still harbor the same unintelligent stereotypical bigoted animosity.

In many counties in many States despite the outpouring of love and admiration for Obama in 2008 , he barely received above single digits of the white vote, remembering of course that he should at least have won the white vote in his own party. Those single digit votes in those parts of this country , means that Democrats voted for John Mc Cain or elected not to vote at all, rather than vote for a black candidate.

Many would rather see their country fail rather than be saved by a black man, they have said so. Many would rather see Osama Bin Laden alive that know he was taken out by Barack Obama, the very president they label a Muslim an Arab and a terrorist sympathizer.

Led of course by the genius(sic) former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the most ignorant of ignoramuses.

On the question of Muslim or Arab, labels they use to deride Barack Obama, neither of which he is, it is instructive that the very Constitution they claim to love, the Bible of their very American existence, lays out two simple steps for someone to be President of this beautiful land.

(1) The person must be native-born American.

(2) The person must have reached the age of thirty-five years old (35).

If the Constitution is as important to them as they say it is, if the words are sacrosanct as they claim they are, how then can they deny a Muslim or Arab the Presidency, which the very same Constitution clearly does not?

And if they are willing to label an honest decent and upright man, Arabic and Muslim , which he clearly isn’t, does it not make sense that they will elect a soul-less liar who has categorically lied without fear, of consequence? Where there is no vision the people perish, in their blind hatred the people demanded that Pontius Pilate release the murdering thief Barabas to them and crucify the just and decent Jesus Christ, Barack Obama is not Jesus Christ , neither is he Barabas, but as it was then, so is it today. Hatred is palpable, it is contagious, it is dangerous, they killed Jesus based on a campaign of lies , false accusations and defamation, they could not kill him without building a case of lies, he was sinless. Both Herod king of the Jews and Pilate the Roman Governor wanted no part of the charade, but the hateful throng would not have it any other way, they would not allow truth to change their mendacious blood-lust.

Barack Obama is a decent man, one does not have to agree with his politics, it’s ok to disagree, his record is there for all to see, it is one of service, always looking to change the lives of his fellow-man for the better, they cannot justifiably vote him out of office based on his record, so they have to change his record, and that’s what Mitt Romney set out to do.

Mitt Romney did not stop running for president in 2008 after he endorsed John Mc Cain, he wrote a book titled “no apology ‚the case for American greatness” , he went around the country trying to get republican candidates elected to office, in effect it was just a continuation of his failed run and a pre cursor to his present run. That run began with lies and distortions, on Tuesday November 6th we hope it will end in ashes , a footnote in the annals of history, a testament that in the end mendacity will never be rewarded with ultimate power.

Mitt Romney decided he would run a campaign of lies, he knew he would have to build a case against Obama, he realized he could not do so against Obama the man, he would have to prove that. He calculated that for the racists and the truth deniers and there are many, he could turn positives into negatives, that is what he has done , on the Auto bailout, on the stimulus, on Obama-care, on the killing of Osama Bin Laden. On issue after issue Romney has twisted the facts, supported and helped by a huge cadre of neo conservative hate mongers. Pair that with illiterate, hateful, and uninformed people and it’s clear to comprehend why this election is close.

There is still time for voters to take another look at Romney and not be fooled , voters have a chance yet , not to fall for the sales pitch of a slick snake oil salesman who will do anything for power under the guise of family and religion, while wrapped in the flag.

On Wednesday November 7th, the entire world will see what America did on the 6th, the decision of voters will tell them whether America is serious about turning the corner , or whether she had voted for a black man once, simply to ease her burdened conscience.

Go out and exercise your right to vote , Republicans want to take it away from you, because it is the single most powerful tool you and you and you and you have to determine your destiny, it is yours not theirs.

When you do not vote you empower them to further abuse you, take advantage of your right, many in the republican party, particularly white men believe your right to vote is a privilege, it isn’t , it becomes a privilege if you make it so.

Excercise your right, boot them all from office.

How Racial Politics Have Stifled Economic Recovery:

Republicans have potentially robbed this country of significant growth over the term of President Barack Obama out of spite , racial hatred, and politics.

Clearly there are economic head-winds which affect how the American economy behaves, after all we now live in a globalized economy where sniffles in Asia causes coughs here in America, there is no way around these hurdles anymore , we are becoming increasingly inter-dependent on each other to survive. How does that happen you ask? Well, when me have orders of heavy machinery or other Industrial equipment from countries in Europe, American workers have jobs building those machines , if conditions in those European countries are such that there is reduced or non-existent demand for those machines , Americans have no jobs to go to. Conversely when we are without jobs and are unable to buy their products their economies struggle . Wars and the threats of war affect economic activity, as we have seen with oil prices whenever the warmongers ratchet up talk of war the market gets skittish, investors do not like uncertainty . You would not put your hard-earned money into uncertain situations would you? Well there you have it!

I wrote that entire prologue to get to the word (uncertainty). They understand the consequences of uncertainty

Republican opponents of Barack Obama understood this when he was elected to the presidency , they understand it today.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell ® Kentucky and House Speaker John Boehner ® Ohio, these are the faces of obstruction.

Imagine where the economy would be if Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s priority was to work toward the betterment of the country they all claim to love, and not as he put it, quote (“My first priority is to ensure that Barack Obama is a one term president”) end quote.

Imagine where we would be if John Boehner had used the powers he was given for good. Boehner a man who cried when Republicans won the House in 2010 and he was elevated to Speaker, Boehner talked then about his journey from birth to the powerful job of Speaker of the American House of Representatives. One would have thought that if anyone understood the trials, travails and journey of the less privileged surely Boehner would be that person. The sojourn of Barack Hussein Obama, from Hawaii, to Kenya, to Indonesia, to Chicago to 1600 Pennsylvania avenue, is not that different from the less than ideal circumstances of Boehner’s biography.

Boehner was born in Reading, Ohio, the son of Mary Anne (née Hall) and Earl Henry Boehner, the second of twelve children. His father was of German descent and his mother had German and Irish ancestry.[2][3][4][5][6] He grew up in modest circumstances, having shared one bathroom with his eleven siblings in a two-bedroom house in Cincinnati. His parents slept on a pull-out couch.[7] He started working at his family’s bar at age 8, a business founded by their grandfather Andy Boehner in 1938.[7] He has lived in Southwest Ohio his entire life. All but two of his siblings still live within a few miles of each other; two are unemployed and most of the others have blue-collar jobs.[Wikipedia

Boehner is the first in his family to have attended college, it took him 7 years to earn his BA Degree in Business Administration from Xavier University, where he graduated in 1977, as he was forced to work to finance his college education.

This story seems patently similar to the story of the guy who is now president, born to a black absentee father and a white mother, a mother who re-married, a man from Indonesia and took him there with her, then took him back to Hawaii and left him in the care of his all white grand parents. Yes the ingredient characteristics may be dis-similar, but the struggles and determination inherent in both stories are the hall-mark of what makes success fulfilling, not just the destination, more so the journey, yes these two men’s stories are vastly similar.

Yet the direction both men have taken with the immense blessings God has bestowed on them, could not be further from each other. As Obama spends his political capital struggling for the cause of the dispossessed, passing the Affordable care Act, keeping American workers employed by bailing out the Auto Industry , fighting for women’s’ rights by signing the Lilly Ledbetter Act into law, ending the Iraq war, ending don’t ask don’t tell, winding down the war in Afghanistan, going after Osama Bin Laden surgically and removing him from the equation, taking out the top-tiered leadership of the al-Qaeda network, and prevented any further terror attacks on American soil and a whole litany of other successes, where is John Boehner?

Boehner conversely, has hitched his wagon to that of the most reactionary far right zealots in this country who cannot revel in the fact that the country they claim to love, has evolved so much so that it elected someone from a minority group to the most powerful position in the country.

Does that make John Boehner a Racist ? I seriously doubt that he is, what it makes John Boehner is a coward.

Republican Newt Gingrich swept to power during the early years of the Clinton Presidency on the so-called contract with America [sic] (more like the contract on America). Gingrich brought with him a whole freshman class loyal to him, who did his bidding. Boehner did not bring the tea party hacks to congress and they surely are not answerable to him. This is where the cowardice of Boehner is exposed, he wants to work with Obama to get things done but he knows that there are Eric Cantor and Paul Ryan waiting in the wings looking over his shoulders to see any sign of compromise in him, upon which they would hang him out to dry.

John Boehner does not want a mutiny aboard ship he would rather be a figure-head Captain than discipline the crew and be made to walk the plank.

As such, John Boehner’s Speakership/captaincy will be an infamous stewardship, one which saw unprecedented attempts to overturn the affordable care act which is in effect helping Americans, a vote to hold the Attorney General of the United States Eric Holder in contempt of congress over trivialities, taking numerous votes to limit women’s rights, and doing almost nothing to help govern the Nation republicans were elected to govern.

Boehner’s stewardship is an abject failure, the approval ratings of the nation’s congress is in the single digits, that will be the legacy of John Boehner, a man who came from humble beginnings to attain the sweet taste of political power, only to squander it on cheap political posturing and ideological obstructionism.

John Boehner could have made a difference, he could have stood up to the far right politics of those in his caucus and even though he does not have the life tenure of Supreme Court Justice John Roberts who clearly was mindful of his responsibilities and maybe his legacy in his vote to uphold the Affordable Care Act, Boehener could have chosen to die on his feet rather than live on his knees.

It is never a good idea to have the tail wagging the dog, The American House of Representatives is now a dysfunctional joke that is doing nothing to aid struggling Americans, that will be the legacy of John Boehner.

The difference between the leadership of Barack Obama and John Boehner is the difference in this election coming up in November, that is the contrast, not necessarily that between Obama and Romney.

Boehner should look at Barack Obama and learn some lessons on leadership, to whom much is given , much is expected, on this John Boehner is woefully lacking.

PS: To the birthers who continue to argue that Barack Obama is a Muslim because of his time spent as a child in the Nation of Indonesia, I understand how you would feel that way , after all Netanyahu’s education and time spent in the United States certainly made him a Christian.

Obama’s Race Problem:

One thing people understand is when you speak to them in simple language. Republicans understand that. At every level of the political debate Republicans talk to

people in simple concise language, it matters not that they may be lying. Working class people generally do not care too much for elitists who talk in superfluous language, seeming to lecture them.

This applies to people in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, and all across America in so-called working-class neighbourhoods/blue-collar neighborhoods where people get up go to work in factories, on farms, and in small businesses.

Try telling that to Democrats.

I simply cannot understand why those who classify themselves as democrats feel that they must show how smart they are by using double speak; we get it that you have multiple degrees from wherever, but the average voter in rural Pennsylvania needs to be able to relate to what you are selling.

On the very day he was being inaugurated, a super secretive group of right-wing operatives were meeting in an undisclosed location in Washington DC plotting the political demise of Obama.

It mattered not that this was a historic moment in American history, which many would argue, every American should celebrate, if not for Obama, at least for the country they claim to love.

Senate Minority leader Mitch McConell sums up a republican strategy that was discussed in that secretive DC meeting which neither he nor John Boehner were privileged to attend. QUOTE ” “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”

Republicans could not have selected a more representative replica to narrate the central tenet of their intentions, than the old curmudgeon from Kentucky.

In McConell’s face is everything that America seeks to move away from-hate, dysfunction, obstruction, lies, deceit, racism etc.

So lets start with establishing what no one wants to say, not even the president’s supporters. I will say it however.

None of the dysfunction, gridlock, nastiness, pettiness, name-calling,and the inability to get anything done in Washington DC is about party political differences.

[The stark reality is that republicans wants to ensure that the presidency of Barack Obama is such a dismal failure that this country will not consider electing another African-American for another century]

There ladies and gentlemen are the facts, and they do not care what harm they do to the country or its inhabitants in the process. John Boehner speaker of the house , powerless over his own caucus has allowed himself to be a pawn of the lunatic hate fringe that has catapulted scores of so-called Tea-party freaks into representational politics.

The problem with the voters who voted these lunatics into office is that they get nothing in return. None of these idiots are interested in getting anything done except giving tax-cuts to the richest of the rich.

All of the fiscal prudence that has formed the foundation of the tea-party wing-nuts arguments (and I daresay their very existence) was nowhere to be found a few months earlier when Bush was in the White house, where have all of this fiscal conservatism come from all of a sudden? The strategy is to roll back even the affordable care act which they themselves dubbed “Obama-care”. They got out front of the affordable care act demonizing it as radical and bad for Americans. Many, including the president say the affordable care act is not perfect, still an opposition which cares about people would work with the administration to fix it . Despite it’s perceived flaws, this legislation has tremendous positive impact on the lives of tens of millions of Americans.

How smart is a population really if it may be manipulated into believing that legislation which allows their children who are out of a job to stay on their health insurance until they are age 26 is somehow a bad thing?

How smart are a people who insurance companies can no longer tell they will not insure them because they have pre-existing conditions? yet they beleive the lie that it is a bad thing?

How smart is a population if it may be manipulated into believing that a law which does not allow Health Insurance companies to refuse to cover illnesses for people insured by them, a bad thing?

This is the battle president Obama faces. Where else would a president who has accomplished so much in such a short time be in a tight race? Much less be in a tight race with a guy whose party has done nothing but stand in the way of economic recovery?

The matter is simply one of race. Republicans of all stripes, on every issue, whether it’s women’s health, immigration, entitlements, you name it, has stated they want to return to the past. The fact is that America included, and benefitted only some. This dog-whistle to their base is lost on no one. When the playing field is level all people benefit. Republicans wants to take the country back to a time when only white men were afforded full citizenship; African-Americans and other minorities, women and gays were not allowed to participate.

It is a serious psychological flaw on the part of those who feel they may only be able to compete when the odds are stacked in their favor. This country can ill afford to go back to the age of exclusion, discrimination, recriminations, and exploitations. The intellectual élite must do a better job of communicating the benefits of inclusion to the blue-collar workers in the heart-land and those in the south who are still fighting the civil war, while it repudiate and rubbish exclusion. They must be taught that when one does better we all do better.

For hundreds of years many were allowed to make the rules, everyone else lived in their world and played by their rules. People of all stripes and persuasion are now standing and demanding their place in the sun. The presidency of Barack Obama will never be removed from the history books. The ascendency to high office by people like Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton , Hilda Solis, Susan Rice ‚and many more, blacks, women, those who are gay , straight, Asians, Hispanics, Americans all, represents the ever-changing face of the American landscape.

It behoves those who want to turn the clock back that they learn to compete with everyone else, this is the face of the future.

WHEN WE CALL OUT THE RACISTS THEY SAY WE ARE RACIST.

George Zimmerman is in custody. Not because law enforcement in Sanford Florida thought that his killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin warranted an arrest. He is in custody because of the righteous indignation of millions of people who decided we are not going to take being ignored anymore.

Through the troubles and travails of the civil rights struggle , brothers and sisters, black and white, jews and gentiles, yellow and brown man has marched with us , in our quest for respect and recognition. So too today people of all color came together to say this is unacceptable , we want answers why Trayvon Martin was killed and just ignored..

Decent people were outraged when a humble seamstress was arrested on a bus just because she chose to sit down. Decent people were outraged about Trayvon today as they did back then. This came to light because a young white man knew about the case and felt outrage, not because Trayvon was black and he is white but because a human being was killed under questionable circumstances and no one was being held accountable.

This was never about black and white, it still isn’t, it’s about wrong and right, . Blacks and whites , Latinos and Asians , Jews and others marched , blogged , signed petitions and did what they could, and as Sabrina and Tracey said all they wanted was an arrest. An arrest that would see the system play out, they wanted their day in court.

The parents of Trayvon Martin never sought vengeance, they never sought a lynching , all they asked for is that the fundamental decency afforded others be afforded their murdered son. That is not racism, that is not racial hatred that is called justice.

I don’t know whether George Zimmerman is a racist or not , seeing him in court today , I couldn’t help feeling sympathy for him. Trayvon Martin is gone never to return , but here is this young man going through life changing , life altering circumstances that will leave him scarred for life, whatever that life has in store for him.

Yet one cannot ignore the language of supporters of George Zimmerman, the language and the strategy they chose has left a bitter taste in the mouths of well-meaning people the world over. The Race baiting, hate mongers at FOX misinformation never grasped the concept that despite all of the noise, what really happened is that someone died.

How much hate do these people have for African-Americans that they would unanimously back someone blindly even though we are the aggrieved party. From that twirp Sean Hannity , to the bully Bill O’reilly to the loud mouth windbag Rush Limbaugh these miscreants jumped on the case blasting everyone from the president of the United States to the victim without the common human decency to show empathy to the family of the deceased.

What kind of hate possesses these freaks of nature that they would devote their time in defense of someone who chased down and murdered someone in cold blood? As we struggle with trying to understand without parsing and rationalizing , bottom feeding crustaceans like Hannity , Limbaugh, O’Reilly and the other gifts to humanity at FOX make a racial spectacle out of this tragedy.

Bill O’reilly and Sean Hannity

Polls conduced after this tragedy became public revealed a wide chasm between the way blacks and whites viewed what happened , overwhelmingly African-Americans thought that Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin without justification, conversely white Americans overwhelmingly stated that they did not know enough to form an opinion. To some this may seem like a reasoned and sober way to look at things , but when you are a part of the population that has been the victim for centuries you don’t need anymore information to conclude that once again wrong has been done to us.

Like Ostriches many chose to bury their heads in the sand pretending that there is no problem of race in America. Some even ask “what more could you want we gave you your black president”? What nerve? Even some that share the same skin color as Trayvon, yet purport to share the same humanity with the rest of us fail to get the picture. One New England law professor assailed Reverend Sharpton and Jackson for the work they did bringing Trayvon’s case to the fore.

She castigated both gentlemen for daring to suggest that other black people wear hoodies, arguing that the hoodie feeds the stereotype of black men as hoodlums. She went on to say that she lives in a predominantly white neighbourhood and her two sons have been targeted and trailed by the police who wanted to know what they were doing in the neighborhood. The professor told how she raised her sons not to dress or act in certain ways that would feed the stereotype others have of them.

Bob Marley famously said he was glad he was not educated or he would have been a total idiot. This professor is the personification of that quote from Marley. On that subject I rest my case. My wife believes that slavery has done such a terrible job on us , to the point that we believe we have to comport ourselves in a manner consistent with the fear driven norms others have imposed on us.

Irrespective of the outcome of this case Trayvon Martin will never return to his parents, neither will George Zimmerman be the same again. George Zimmerman a 28-year-old guy who seem to hate crime, so much so he wanted to be a cop, when that did not work out he opted to be a self-appointed neighborhood watch captain. He chose to profile and apprehend Trayvon Martin even though he was warned to back off. We are left to wonder what drove this young man who hated crime and wanted to be a cop, to himself run afoul of the laws when he committed a case of domestic violence, what caused him to commit two separate cases of assault on police officers , one with violence?

Are we to beleive that because he was not made to account in these cases we know about that he felt above the laws? Did he feel untouchable because he was the son of a former judge ? We don’t know the answers to these questions, whatever the truths. George Zimmerman felt entitled , he felt authorised, someone made him feel that way.

What drove him to ignore the 911 operator who told him we don’t need you to follow him? These are the questions we must ask ourselves if we are to begin to understand what happened that night which destroyed two lives one way or the other and caused ripple effects through this country and the world the likes of which we haven’t seen in a long time.

The reaction of mister Zimmerman’s people was disrespectful and worthy of a hard pushback. Sending a letter to the NAACP telling them that if anything happened to Zimmerman blood would be on their hands and demanding they call off the dogs. The caustic nature of this letter as well as statements made by his father and brother does nothing to help heal the wounds of the Martin family, or the simmering cauldron of racial animus bubbling just beneath the surface in the country.

How Far Have We Come Since Bloody Sunday?

On Sunday March 7th. 1965 hundreds of peaceful Civil Right marchers were attacked by armed Troopers as they attempted to march across the Edmund Pettus bridge from Selma to the State capital of Montgomery. Voting rolls in the south were 99% White and 1% African-American. Many African-Americans suffered immense hardships simply because they dared to want to vote . Today many African-Americans simply do not bother, or doesn’t even register to vote.

I am particularly incensed by this because of the abuse that generation suffered to give our generation the right to vote, yet we treat that precious gift with impunity, disregarding the sacrifices that were made so we can have that right. In that march was the reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, John Lewis , and many other stalwarts of the civil rights movement. On that sunday which we now refer to as bloody sunday no one was spared the dogs, water hoses and bludgeoning, as the full force of southern racism came down on innocent peaceful marchers who just wanted to vote.

Edmund Pettus Bridge where peaceful marchers were attacked by Alabama state troopers as they made their way from Selma to Montgomery.

Fast forward to 2012 there is a black president in the White House and there are moves afoot in many southern and mid-western states to suppress the votes of minorities through draconian voter ID laws that disenfranchises largely African-American and latino voters.

Just how far has blacks come in their own country, when a sitting senior Federal Judge in the state of Montana can forward a despicable email which suggests that the mother of the president of the United States had sex with a dog?

Federal judge Richard Cebull.

The republican party has become a haven for some of the most vile racist people . Many living in this country, including Democrats refuse to call it what it is. After the voting rights bill was signed into law by president Lyndon Johnson many whites sought refuge in the republican party, feeling betrayed by the democratic party they felt was taken over by liberals from the North. I would like to point out that literally everyone involved at the higher levels of the struggle has ben assassinated.

President John F Kennedy, his brother the former attorney general of the United States Bobby Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and the list goes on and on all have been murdered. Today Republicans in an effort to ensure there will not be another black president no time soon, in many states are turning back the clock on voting rights.

ARE BLACK AMERICANS GOING TO STAND BY AND ALLOW OTHERS WHO HAVE NO MORE RIGHT TO THIS COUNTRY THAN THEY DO TAKE THEIR RIGHTS AWAY FROM THEM AGAIN?

This year, more than a dozen states enacted new voting restrictions. For example, eight — Alabama, Kansas, Mississippi, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin — imposed new laws requiring voters to present state-issued photo identification cards. Previously voters were able to use other forms of identification, like bank statements, utility bills and Social Security cards. (new york time .com)

ThE Reverend Al Sharpton has planned a march for Alabama on Sunday, not to commemorate the voting rights Act, but to highlight the serious threat that republicans pose to the voting rights of minorities in this country. Republicans argue that the new laws are designed to eradicate voter fraud. However the numbers do not support their arguments. In fact in most case where voter fraud are alleged, an election commissions are obliged to investigate, the findings revealed thus: Bad data matching , which revealed motor vehicle was wrong in assuming the voters were dead, cases where voters were alleged to have voted , but never did. A few cases of absentee ballots were cast by voters who died before the elections. The few votes left were cases where signatures were not recognizable. This suggest the laws are a solution looking for a problem.(the new york times)

Why then are republicans looking to turn back the clock?

The election of Barack Obama to the presidency has exposed the dirty underbelly of racism in America, many foolishly thought was a thing of the past. President Obama was elected to the presidency without winning the majority of white votes. This reality scared the hell out of the wing nuts on the right and as soon as Obama was inaugurated they conspired to destroy his presidency. Senate Minority Mitch McConnell stated quote “Making Obama A One-Term President Is My Single Most Important Political Goal”(mediaite.com) They have attacked his presidency with a fervor not seen in modern times. Their attack has several fronts. In the congress he is not allowed any legislative accomplishments because of republican obstructionism. They have launched all out wars on immigrants from Alabama to Florida, and from Georgia to Arizona immigrants are under assault from overzealous state law enforcement to include renegade Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio, a modern-day Bull O’Connor whom have been accused of serious abuse of minorities. Joe Arpaio sheriff of Maricopa county Arizona has been under federal investigations by the Obama justice department for Human rights violations. For his part Arpaio has allegedly launched his own investigations into the nonsensical birth certificate dribble , he has since announced that his investigations have concluded that the president’s birth certificate is a forgery. This has further cemented what many believed that this old geezer is a loose cannon with a racist tinge.

Whether it is Joe Wilson a congressman shouting “you lie” at the president as he delivers the state of the union address, or an associate Justice of the Supreme court Samuel Alito shaking his head and mouthing “not true”,or it’s Arizona’s classless governor Jan Brewer wagging her finger at the president on the tarmac as he disembarked from his plane, or that despicable life form parading as a federal judge, who forwarded that email , or the countless other instances that has come to light we have seen these instances of the most vile form of racism that many seriously believed they had left behind in the 60’s.

Republican assault have not spared groups like Acorn, a group which has traditionally registered minorities to vote. They have launched attacks on planned parenthood, using surrogates like the Susan G Komen to do their dirty work. Komen is a cancer charity which receives most of its funds from regular donors, received a shock when it announced it would cut funding for planned parenthood. This was definitely a republican attack on planned parenthood which to Komen’s surprised initiated a tremendous blow-back which forced them to reverse that decision. Komen is still reeling from that blow-back and has since hired a consulting firm to asses the damage done to their reputation.(huffington post .com)

The jury is out on what this will all mean by the time the next election comes around, to my mind the next election is the least of our worries. Republicans have systematically elected  right-wing operatives to county legislatures state legislatures, governorships, congressional districts and to the US Senate. They have passed radical new laws that looks frighteningly like laws that were around during jim crow. Have you ever wondered why people who commit crimes and paid their debt to society are still not allowed to vote? Well during the sixties African-Americans would be given things like a jar of jelly beans when they turn up to vote, if they failed to guess how many beans were in the Jar they were turned away without being able to vote. Potential voters were given written tests that asked about archaic ordinances that the questioners themselves did not know the answers to. Today voter suppression laws are being instituted broadly throughout the south and midwest as fears over the browning of America grows. Architects and supporters of these laws will tell you they are about the rule of law, they will tell you they are for the integrity of the process. But as I told you before they are about not seeing another black man in the White House.

In many cases these bills are being signed into law with the support of democrats, some of whom are not happy about Barack Obama’s presidency. The Roy Blount Amendment which was recently voted down in the United States Senate had the support of several Democratic senators whom have demonstrated a cowardly craven interest for their own political survival over principle.

Rich companies pay lobbyists to wine and dine law makers, they get what they want. Every person, every group must demand that government work for them. Blacks are taking this assault on their very existence rather lightly it seem. Our people are being arrested and incarcerated at a rate that is way above other ethnic groups, over 23 of our children are being born out-of-wedlock, and I am yet to figure out what it is that we are focused on as a people. Did African-Americans think the election of Barack Obama was going to mean a post racial America? It seem to me that his ascendency will actually mean that the causes that are important to black people will be set back and made worse because of his rise. Some are unfairly blaming president Obama for some of the ills plaguing the black community. They mean well, but they also lack a basic understanding of what a president can do, they also lack an understanding of what a first term black president, hated by his enemies can accomplish.

There are about 40 million black people living in these United States. That is a very large country within an even larger country. There are between 5 and 6 million Jewish adherents living in the United States, not all of whom are religious . However with the Jewish population a mere 18 of the black population, Jews in this country wield significant clout and power in getting their agenda addressed both here and in the interest of the state of Israel. No politician running for office dare bad mouth Jews or their causes and hope to get elected dog catcher. Conversely anyone wanting traction in conservative circles merely have to disrespect black Americans to become an instant hit.

As Netanyahu comes to the White House to tell Obama what he expects for the state of Israel, I wonder who speak for African-Americans in their own country?

America’s Continued Shame:

There is a common thread that runs throughout all players in the Republican party which has at its core a concerted attempt to pretend that President Barack Obama is not president of the United States. Republicans have long attempted to sow scorn and disdain on the intelligent left, in an attempt to paint them as Elitists, out of touch and far removed from the American reality, “other”.

They have sought to develop a narrative that is “aw shucks” arguing that a president should be a laid back person in the mold of say Ronald Reagan or George Bush the 43rd president. They sell the merits of a president who one would want to have a beer with. They have been successful in demonizing and labeling Democratic candidates like John Kerry, and Michael Dukakis as Massachuset liberals, making the word liberal a nasty stain and a negative caricature. Of course two of the architects of that demagoguery Newt Gingrich and Bush’s brain, Karl Rove, are still a part of the political landscape. Gingrich is involved in a faltering political campaign against chief nemesis Mitt Romney, while Rove heads up a powerful super pac that collects tens of millions of dollars from wealthy donors like the Koch brothers and casino mogul Sheldon Alderson to fund right-wing candidates in their quest to destroy Obama. Incredibly Gingrich is now whining shamefully, his complaints? Negative campaign ads from Mitt Romney’s campaign and super pac. Spit in the sky it falls in your face.

The narrative somehow places conventional wisdom on its head, it convinces large parts of the country particularly the southern states that educated people are somehow un-American. By this reasoning they have managed to convince large swaths of the population that people who play by the rules, gets an education, raise a family, and live a decent drama-free life, are somehow not American. Throw a black guy in there with a Muslim sounding name and the aforementioned attributes and this guy must be from Mars.

These are the same intellectually challenged folks who argue that (Global warming is a hoax), This is the (drill baby drill) crowd which argues for unrestrained drilling for oil and natural gas without a single thought for the environment. Anyone who dare mention the need for clean drinking water, clean air, and the need to protect the eco system is castigated as the enemy and an example of what is wrong with America.

There are those who pretend that what we are seeing happening in this country is just the common nastiness of American politics playing out. They are quick to point out that president Bush was treated rather badly by the left.

Really?

I just refered to the former leader of the free world as “president Bush”. When was the last time a republican refered to our president as president Obama? The lunatic fringe of the republican party has convinced some of the most intellectually challenged among their base that this president is not really the president.

As we have seen from the moronic failed attempts of the birther movement led by egomaniac Donald Trump and others, to that woman in Florida who told Rick Santorum she does not refer to the Obama as president Obama, because he is not really the president. She went on to tell him she wonders why someone doesn’t get him (reffering to the president) out of there. To which the equally moronic Santorum responded “I am trying to get him out of there myself”.

The mindset of the lunatic right imagines, if they are able to convince their equally lunatic supporters that Barack Obama is not the president of the United States, somehow he will not be seen to be. Their strategy is tantamount to removing the number 44 from the Hindu-Arabic numeral system and hope we will not notice we missed a number.

Throughout history only 44 men has been so honored to be called president of the United States, many has sought that office, many have failed , to date we have only had 44 men attain that lofty position, 43 white men, 1 black man. That historical fact will never be eliminated from the annals of history.

That there are people in this country who possess such blatant mental retardation to somehow want to suppress the fact that a black man has attained what they said we couldn’t do is testament to our fortitude. After 300 years of slavery, lynching, rape, , jim crow ‚and everything that they could throw at us, the indomitable spirt of our people has shone through all the adversity to accomplish what some can only dream about.

Sarah Palin Newt Gingrich

The disrespect that has been shown to this president has been astounding, and has been nothing like we have seen before. MSNBC Martin Bashir commented that republicans never fail to refer to Sarah Palin as Governor , even though she was unable to complete a single term as governor of Alaska, they also never fail to refer to Gingrich as Speaker, even though he was ran out of congress on ethics violation charges. Yet they are adamant in calling the president Barack Obama, a man who won by a large plurality of the votes and the electoral college to become the 44th president of the United States.

This nastiness is nothing new, we saw elements of it in the race between Hillary Clinton and Obama in the primaries , we saw the signs , we saw the despicable racial caricatures, we heard the neanderthal remarks, and they were coming from Democrats.

The more it seemed Barack Obama was going to be the nominee the nastier the attacks became. Thanks to the intervention of Senator Dianne Feinstein of California after Obama secured the nomination it appeared that the hatchet was buried between Clinton and Obama. I am still not convinced that either Hillary or Bill Clinton voted for Obama.

What we saw happen between Clinton and Obama was indeed small potatoes when Sarah Palin was injected into the conversation. She came with a brand of nastiness that we have seen metastasized into what is now a despicable scorched earth brand of politics, that seem hell-bent on total destruction of the opponent and win at all cost. I personally thought that the inflammatory nature of the vitriol surprised even the man at the top of the then republican ticket, John McCain.
Sarah Palin it appeared, did not receive the memo that black people were emancipated, her entire demeanor and tone suggested she felt this black man belonged on the plantation, many argue it was her intellect or lack thereof which was at play here. Having seen and heard her during the campaign influenced me to lean toward the latter argument.

Most Americans who love their country and respect her institutions including the presidency, find it offensive the way this president is characterized and treated in general. If you ask the president he will most likely parse and brush it aside as insignificant, that is what is to be expected from him he is not expected to speak about it, Obama, in order to be elected president of his own country had to pretend he was not a black man, in essence he had to pretend for the consumption and benefit of the illiterate to be water, colourless!!

Neither Jessie Jackson nor Al Sharpton adopted this posture , there is no evidence that either gentlemen were even capable or desirous of adopting that posture, and as such we will never talk about presidents Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton. This fact is not necessarily an indictment on Mister Obama , he sought to use a different path-way to get to where he wanted to get to, we may argue with the path taken but I seriously doubt that anyone would argue with the results.

I think where mister Obama may have been a little naïve’, to borrow a term from his former democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, is where I presume he felt that after winning the presidency America would have been transformed into a post racial society. This naiveté’ may have emanated from Mister Obama’s ethnicity, being the offspring of a white mother and a black father. The president is all to willing to point to his white family members, republicans are equally as quick to say we don’t care. President Obama being from Hawaii probably never heard about the one drop of black blood rule which has long been part of jim crow laws and institutionalized racism in America.

The unfortunate truth about mister Obama’s post racial society is that for the most part, it is a figment of his imagination. As Dr Martin Luther King Jr. envisioned a country where little black kids and little white kids played together over 40 years ago, we have seen the kids playing together but the racial hatred persists. We have to face the sad truths that we cannot legislate morality, we cannot legislate humanity, we cannot legislate respect, we cannot legislate Godliness. As the world witnessed those black students walk through a gauntlet of hateful , jeering people in little Rock Arkansas, despite the presence of federal troops, we must come to grips with the realities that neither federal troops nor federal legislation will change the reprobate minds of those whom are predisposed to hate.

ap obama jan brewer nt 120126 wblog Exclusive Obama Says Encounter With Arizona Gov. Blown Out of Proportion

THIS WAS BOUND TO HAPPEN

ABOVE IS THE GOVERNOR OF ARIZONA JAN BREWERWITH HER FINGER IN THE FACE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. THE PRESIDENT PLAYS IT DOWN AS WE HAVE COME TO EXPECT FROM HIM. HOWEVER THIS IS THE MOST DISRESPECTFUL CRASS, AND BORISH DISPLAY IMAGINABLE FROM SOMEONE WHO IS NOT FIT TO WIPE HIS SHOES. A DISPICABLE CLASSLESS MOMENT ONE THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY , A STAIN ON THE STATE AND THE PEOPLE OF ARIZONA.

No other president and his wife has been more circumspect and dignified in the way they have comported themselves whilst in the White House, than Barack and Michelle Obama. In fairness, President George Bush and his wife Laura were wonderful ambassadors in that regard. I personally liked president Bush and his wife Laura, even though I disagreed with most if not all of mister Bush’s policies, Laura Bush was a smiling level-headed human being of impeccable character. Thank you Laura Bush for standing up for Michelle Obama when the wolves were out to devour her.

There is a definite strategy to this disrespectful demonizing of president Obama, not only is it geared toward an attempted de-ligitimization of this president but there is a more sinister message inherent in the strategy. One has to ask what prompted that man to open fire at the White House with an AK47 rifle recently? What is the reason for the rise in hate groups, including neo-nazis, skinheads, and anti-government militias in the United States as reported by the FBI.

Let me be clear, the palpable disrespect is not only confined to president Obama, it may have been amplified under his administration but it sure isn’t confined to him . There are a long line of self hating  Uncle Tom Negroes who seem all of a sudden to have crawled out of the wood-work to speak negative disparaging things about the president, I don’t have to name them they know themselves. These uncle toms were silent during the Bush years, too scared to open their mouths about anything for fear they would be sent to Gitmo. Now they are out in full force criticizing this president. None is more painful to listen to than Florida congressman Allen West.

Here’s what he had to say recently over the weekend.

We need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and my dear friend the chairman of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain’t on the table.” He added, “Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.“est said at a Lincoln Day Dinner for the Palm Beach County GOP,

Allen West.Florida congressman:

Then on Tuesday January 31st. Allen West attempted to walk back his Uncle Tom moment of idiocy, telling Soledad Obrien of CNN that what he was pointing to, was that he was somehow in awe of a nation that allowed a poor boy from Atlanta Georgia to reach the heights he has reached.

Clearly Congressman Allen West is incapable of containing his glee of becoming a Colonel in the United States Army and now a US congressman, so he kicks the ladder away that he climbed to the top on, so no one else could climb up as he has.

I wonder what congressman Allen West would have done if he was born to a white mother and a black father who was a student from a different continent, then his parents divorced and he was made to move to live in another country on another continent , with his mom and a new husband , then brought back to live with his grand parents, struggling to define who he was, but ultimately attending Occidental college in California, Columbia University, and Harvard Law school and be the Editor of the Harvard law Review. Then spend time working to improve the lives of others in community organizations, then becoming a State Senator, then a US Senator, and finally becoming the president of the United States of America . And did I mention receiving a Nobel Peace Prize? All accomplished in under 50 years.

If Allen West a congressman, is willing to banish the most powerful man on the planet, the most powerful man in the United States Senate the most powerful woman in the US House of Representative, an established congresswoman and DCC chair from America, what would he do to us ordinary nobodys had he accomplished what Barack Obama has accomplished?

During slavery slave owners used divisive tactics to keep slaves in check, some were told they were different than others, usually those who worked in the big house were made to believe they had some kind of leg up over those in the fields. This strategy worked in ensuring that a free flow of information was forthcoming to “Massa” in the big house . That tactic helped to keep slavery in place for over 300 years.

Today we see that divide and conquer still works with many who share the same skin color with us, if nothing else. This is evident in black folks whom are more than happy to disrespect his own brother in order to please his masters. The more things change the more they remain the same. It’s in every aspect of black America, Allen west is so overjoyed that white Floridians voted him into office he cannot contain his glee, in his hurry to shuck , jive and please massa, he disrespect others and kicks the ladder away, not willing to allow another poor person climb up .

Pathetic!!!

Race Baiting, Blame The Media, Typical Republican Strategy Lies And More Lies:

In the week that Republican Candidate Newt Gingrich is experiencing his second life in this campaign, and probably lucky for him just before the South Carolina debates, his second wife Marianne told ABC news that Gingrich wanted her to have an open marriage, a proposal she was not particularly fond of. Gingrich has been married three times, he has been accused of infidelity and even have been said to have served one of his wives with divorce papers whilst she was sick in hospital.

Newt Gingrich:

It is rather interesting, the hypocrisy of Republicans and in particular those in South Carolina who cheered raucously when Gingrich launched into a sanctimonious attempt at faux outrage at CNN’s John King who had the audacity to open the debates by asking Gingrich about what his wife said about him. http://Youtube.com

John King, USA

King’s portrait courtesy of facebook.com

Newt Gingrich was at the tip of the spear seeking to sear President Clinton for having a sexual dalliance with a White House Intern during his time in office. It is rather hypocritical of Gingrich and the other members of that Congress who made a humongous deal about what President Clinton did, almost plunging the country into a constitutional crisis, yet the same people are quite willing to look away and make lame excuses for what Gingrich is accused to have done to his previous wives, and the allegations made against him about infidelity. There is no shortage of lying hypocrites parading as christian evangelicals who are on television arguing that Gingrich’s serial infidelity as they are alleged, are subject to God’s grace and forgiveness, as of course they are. It is no wonder that these same people who speak about being christians, and espouse the foundational principles of forgiveness and grace did not have any forgiveness for President Clinton. These same people who talk about being christians and extol the sanctity of life, will defend an embryo, they will defend a sperm but they will not defend a black or colored baby. What Christ are they talking about, What God do they worship? Every election cycle the media continue the talking points of these people by calling them evangelical christian, is it any wonder that people are turned away from christianity and religion on a whole, when these are the faces of christianity.

Newt Gingrich was aware of the kind of people in that room in South Carolina, he was prepared for John King asking him that question, he had that answer irrespective of the time King asked him about allegations of his infidelity. Gingrich was equally aware of the kind of audience when he lambasted Juan Williams for daring to ask him about continually suggesting that poor minority kids should be janitors. He was equally aware when he allowed the woman at the campaign stop to compliment him for quote putting Juan Williams in his place..youtube.com.

As despicable as Gingrich’s racial posturing is, the other jokers competing for the Republican nomination are just as excited to release what seem to be pent-up racial animosity toward black people and president Obama in particular. Mitt Romney the media elevated front-runner would not be out done in his attempt to show his conservatism. Seeking to impress the crowd Romney tells debate crowd hungry for blood he would stuff attacks down president Obama’s throat. In the all out attempt to disrespect this president Gingrich told one man who said he wanted Gingrich to bloody President Obama’s nose to which Gingrich stated ‘I do not intend to bloody Barack Obama’s nose I intend to knock him out”.

This part gets my blood boiling because whether hypothetically or literally , neither of these two are capable of doing what they profess to do to this black man so let’s get that out in the open, so both these jokers can stop with the nonsense. This election will be a knock down dragged out dirty one, President Obama will have to wage a campaign that exceeds the scope of the one he waged to win the presidency, if you thought Republicans were desperate in 2007 , they will be even more so in 2012 , they will use all the dirty tricks, lies, distortions and fabrications at their disposal, not only will he have to deal with whomever wins the republican nomination , he will have to deal with the incredibly wealthy, powerful people who want him gone so they can return to the days of no regulation and corporate welfare. They are capable and all too willing to put tens of millions of dollars into super pacs in an attempt to destroy this president and his record.

Two of the most powerful of the donors against Obama are the billionaire Koch Brothers who are some of the filthy rich who are bank rolling Tea Party campaign against working people in this country. It’s time that ordinary people push back against these mega rich people who are disdainful of ordinary working people who consume their products in our homes daily without even realizing it.

The Raw Facts About The Republican Party’s Race Problem:

Tony Perkins President of the Family research Council and the entire length and breath of the Republican food chain has perfected the argument of , ” DEFEATING BARACK OBAMA AND RESTORING AMERICA TO IT’S FOUNDING PRINCIPLES” Let’s talk about the coded language being used in the election campaign, even as we celebrate the life of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Newt Gingrich

The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

As a blogger and a news hound, I watch Television,(well mostly listen) as I am always busy, I visit websites, listen to radio, and read blogs, all with a view of getting a feel for the essence of really what’s happening in the world, and as much as possible be able to free myself from the shackles of the packaged product that passes for news the major media houses feeds us, under the assumption that we are unable to figure things out for ourselves.

Cris Matthews host of MSNBC Hardball speaking to the issue of racial code words on Andrea Mitchell Reports on Tuesday January 17th , Matthews said succinctly “it’s not something you can sensitize someone to, either you see it or you choose not to see it because you don’t want to” Matthews pointed to a couple of instance where it was done in previous election cycles and even though it was there , some argue that others who mentioned it were making much ado about nothing. So the question to you my readers is this , Is there a coded language that is being used by white candidates when they speak to certain sections of the voting public, usually all white audiences like the Lilly white audience in Myrtle Beach South Carolina?

Well let’s take a look, There is a common thread that runs through all in the republican party when they refer to President Obama They call him ‘Barack Obama” Now as Cris Matthews said, one can choose to ignore this and pretend that it is normal or one could see it for what it really is a means of de-legitimising the presidency of This president . This has caught on with even some in the media who have delved, some of them unwittingly, into the Barack Obama new speak, without realizing that is exactly what those who are still fighting the civil war wants. This is part of a campaign aimed at de-legitimizing the president.

CODE SPEAK .

(1)Barack Obama:

(2)Food stamp President:

(3)The issue of the President’s birth certificate:

(4) Election is for the soul of America:

(5) European socialist:

Opponents of this president speak about getting rid of Barack Obama and restoring America to it’s values, what values are they talking about ? Are they referring to the values on display in that crowd in South Carolina on Monday night? that shameful display shows once and for all a State that still couches it’s racial hatred in codes and raucous applause when Newt Gingrich stated that in New York a janitor could be fired and many kids hired to fill their space , he stated it would put money in their pockets. Of course this neanderthal makes no reference to how these students would handle working and going to school, or maybe he doesn’t feel that poor minority children should go to school, maybe Gingrich is actually trying to create a permanent class of jantitors . Wasn’t that the reason blacks were executed if they were caught reading or learning to read during slavery?

What is instructive about Republican crowds is that they want a gay soldier to die because he did not have any insurance, they want prisoners on death row to be fried. The demeanor of the crowd in South Carolina was particularly telling when Juan Williams asked Gingrich whether he wasn’t seeking to belittle people, referencing the issue of Gingrich’s proposed policy of making minority kids janitors, he said first of all “Juan” then waited for applause from the ignorant racist crowd, before he proceeded into his diatribe about Barack Obama being the food stamp president. He used William’s name the way they used the name Barack Hussein Obama in a context that is intended to demean, telling their white supporters he is not one of us , he is “other”. That first part of the sentence ” first of all Juan”,( code speak) then waiting for the applause from the crowd that says to him, “we get it , you put him in his place”

On the day that the nation celebrated the life and work of the greatest icon for social justice in many lifetimes Martin Luther King Jr. Republican candidate for president Newt Gingrich sought to demean and belittle black people by being openly hostile and dismissive of a black Journalist in the State of South Carolina. Despite this tragic affront and the continuation of it there are still blacks in this country who feel that they should be defenders of these repugnant vile creatures that parade as human beings who continue to spread this toxic brand of hatred. Republican strategist Ron Christie a black Republican who worked in former vice president’s Dick Cheney’s office characterized Gingrich’s vile behavior as quote “a clumsy attempt to explain something that is true”

Republican strategist and former Cheney deputy assistant Ron Christie:See blog titled black republicanism about how we feel about the Ron Christie’s of this world.

Republican candidates for president are not restrained this cycle in using overt racism in their quest for political power, they want to get rid of this Democratic president, however they want to get rid of the black president much more. They have been prepared from the inauguration of Barack Obama to use whatever tactics they see fit to remove Obama from office. This is not all they are using, it is just one tool in their tool kit of dirty tricks, to include, fraudulent arguments of voter fraud in order to enact legislation in several states that makes it difficult for minorities to vote . Santorum nailed Mitt Romney on the question of why people who have paid their debt to society should not being allowed to vote, Romney stated he doesn’t believe that people who commit violent crimes should be allowed to vote, this got Romney thunderous applause from the Lilly white St Carolina crowd. Never mind that as Governor of Massachusetts Romney did nothing to stop people on parole from voting.

It is instructive that as we celebrated the birthday of Dr. King the Confederate flag still flies over the capital rotunda in South Carolina, and as the Confederate flag flies over the rotunda, A crowd of racist secessionists booed a black journalist as he simply sought to do his job.

Rather instructive about where the soul of this republican party really is, as if there was ever any doubt.

UPDATE

A woman congratulated Newt Gingrich at a campaign stop in St. Carolina today, here’s what she said “Speaker Gingrich I would like to congratulate you for putting mister Juan Williams in his place last night“the crowd erupted into thunderous applause while Gingrich basked in the glow and adulation from the crowd, after the applause died down Gingrich nodded his head and told the woman smilingly “thank you, thank you.

Never once did he repudiate the language, never once did he repudiate the notion , never once did he say it was never his intention to put Williams in his place. Perry, Santorum, Paul, and Romney stood on that stage in South Carolina as Newt Gingrich demagogue black people, and dismissed a black Journalist to sustained and raucous laughter and applause, not one of them stopped Gingrich or objected to his vile and disrespectful brand of posturing, as such the nominee of this party should be held responsible for Gingrich’s actions.
