President Barack Hussein Obama

David and Charles Koch.

No one denies Republicans their right to run a campaign to put a Republican in the White House; they even have the right to their four-year obstructionist agenda, which, (America be damned) was designed to remove Barack Obama from office even before he took the oath of office.

For Republicans, love of country is winning at all cost, even if it means that America suffers immensely in the process. In fact, it is not about the 300 + million people who occupy these United States; it is about the 1% who are at the top of the financial and economic pile.

Republican officeholders and those seeking office, are completely sold on the concept of trickle-down economics; what they do not tell the voters they seek to influence, is that they have no desire to see anything trickle down to them.

The fact is that, Republicans are wholly sold out to special interest; anything which falls from the tables of the 1% will never get to the masses; it falls onto them the political hacks in the Senate, the House, and whoever they put in the White House.

Business tycoons at the top of the pile like Charles and David Koch, Sheldon Adelson, and others, figured out that it is cheaper to control the politicians than deal fairly with the masses. It is not strange to see South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley a (Native American) trumpeting Boeing’s victory over the Federal Government to not have Unionized workers in their factory to cheers from the audience at the Republican convention.

These are classic cases of low information people voting and cheering for clearly and unequivocally against their short and long-term interests.

Unionized workers built a solid middle class which propelled this country into being the greatest, most powerful nation on the face of this planet, ever. Decent wages, acceptable working conditions, benefits, and vacation time are the cornerstones of a motivated work-force; these components have lifted otherwise poor people into financial prosperity.

Republicans want to remove Unions from the workplace, relegating and subjecting workers to the unfair practices of what obtains in countries like China, where workers are mere commodities to be disposed of and replaced with others. The tragedy is that many voters are either too stupid or too racially predisposed to realize that they are being led down into hell like rats to the pied piper in Hamlin’s tale.

This election is close because rich financiers like the Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson, and others are hell-bent on defeating Obama, Charles and David Koch has pledged to spend whatever it takes to buy this election for Mitt Romney, they have reportedly already committed over half a billion dollars of their UN-Godly fortune to that end, with no end in sight.

Then, the pre-eminent question has got to be, “what the hell do these clowns want”?

No one gives away a million dollars just because.….….!!

No one gives away 500 million for nothing for damn sure!

The Koch Brothers are wealthy industrialists who inherited their fortunes from their father; they have since increased those fortunes and are using their enormous financial clout to shape policies, to make themselves and others like them even more wealthy, to the utter detriment of the country and our planet.

They own and operate oil and gas companies, lumber, and everything in between to include the paper towels and even the tissue we use in our homes. Let’s face it, these guys are filthy rich people who are going nowhere, they know it, and they understand the power they have as a result of the immeasurable wealth they command.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS CHARLES AND DAVID KOCH SUPPORT AND ESPOUSE.

(1) Repealing the affordable care Act: (Obama-care):

(2) Denying Climate Change:

(3) Fighting Wall Street Reform:

(4)Dismantling Collective Bargaining Rights:

(5) Fighting Reductions in Carbon Emissions:

(6) Keeping Corporate Money in Elections:

(7) Fighting Internet Neutrality:

These are some of the big platform issues they support or oppose, as the case may be. They are the guys behind Romney/Ryan; they and their money are funding and enhancing voter suppression laws all over America, through the funding of far-right Republican straw candidates who are primed to do their bidding.

In this defining election, the American people must determine whether they will allow themselves to be duped into believing the continued lies of the Republican party, or they will stand with this African-American President who has done yeoman’s heavy lifting on their behalf.

The choices couldn’t be clearer; every election cycle, we hear the same cliché.” This is the most important election of our lifetime” cliché or not; this time, it’s actually true. Supreme Court decision “Citizens United” opened up the flood gates of dirty corrupting money, into the political discourse. Many people like Senator’s McCain and Feingold had long warned about this and have actually gotten legislation passed which would minimize this; of course, this was before the Supreme Court in one decision changed the landscape of American politics in one fell-swoop, releasing an avalanche of money and influence into the system under the guise of “Free Speech.”

The truth is this is and was a brain-dead decision, which could easily have been foreseen, even by untrained legal minds. Unless, of course, the intent was to get this result. The American people will have to ask themselves these questions, and at the same time, determine if these are decisions that were made in their interest.

Simply put, if money equals free speech, those with more money invariably have a greater say than those with little; those without money have no right to free speech.

If this decision intended to say that the courts cannot dictate how much is too much to give in a democratic society, then we are forced by default to conclude, that the court’s decision was based on the notion that those without money are undeserving of their fundamental God-given right to free speech.

That means that they decided to err on the side of the wealthy and powerful, giving them the right to speak for the Un-monied masses.

That Coup went down, and no one is any the wiser.

Mitt Birther Romney

Mitt Romney
Mitt Romney

He’s losing the African American vote 94% — 0%, he is losing the Latino vote by more than 35 percentage points , it’s the weekend before his party gives him the nomination, he did not get a appreciable bump from picking neocon congressman Paul Ryan, actually the pick was negligible and rated even worse than the Palin pick, so what is a Mitt Romney to do with these numbers which just seem to be dormant , despite stagnant economic conditions? On the 15th of August of this year I wrote a log called Romney now signals that he wants race to be the factor in these elections, if you haven’t read it you should, I challenge you to read it because it seem that a lot of the things I say come to pass even sooner than I anticipate sometimes.

Mitt Romney went to the State of Michigan today August 24th and said this to the faithful in attendance.

http://http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/romney-jokes-about-his-birth-certificate-obama-campaign-accuses-him-of-embracing-birtherism/2012/08/24/bda35810-ee14-11e1-b0eb-dac6b50187ad_story.html

Joe Biden said some time ago Romney wants minorities to show their papers in the state of Arizona, yet he won’t show his papers to the American people. Does this guy believe this is a winning strategy three days before the start of his convention?

I said Mitt Romney was the worst candidate for president I have ever seen, if that was an over-statement then, I would like to reaffirm those sentiments whole-heartedly today.

Mitt Romney has now decided that he can no longer hold back, decency , or pretence of it be damned, so he’s now a “birther I mean it’s not like Romney was ever shy about cozying up to the most vile creatures, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump,Sean Hannity and every whack job on the extreme right , I take that back that is the republican party, there is no moderates in that party anymore, the party is now a vote suppression racist hang-out for the most vile extremists with the most convoluted and repugnant beliefs.

As I said before Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich were not shy about cozying up to the muse of late night comics , the orange-haired clown Donald Trump, in fact Romney, said on his campaign plane , quote” I don’t agree with everyone who supports me,and I am quite sure they don’t all agree with me but I need 50% plus one to win” .

What is behind Romney’s thinking , that would cause him to go publicly birther on Friday? Is Romney looking at the numbers and recognizing that he is getting O% of African-American votes, he’s likely to get less or just about the same percentage of the Latino votes John McCain got, 31%, so he needs to drive up the white vote even as his friends in governorships in states across the nation, suppress and intimidate minority voters.

In states all across America Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, etal Republican Governors and legislators are putting in place tough voter suppression laws to suppress the vote and in some cases like Ohio intimidate voters even in polling boots through scare tactics, groups like http://www.truethevote.org/ and others are actively engaged in voter intimidation, under the pretext they are watching to ensure that there are no voter fraud, the only problem is that there are no voter fraud which would make them relevant or necessary.

They are positioning them to steal this election and place Mitt Romney into the presidency to represent the interest of the 1%.

There is a lot more for me to say on this subject and I will at another time, there is a tragedy brewing for African-Americans, not just for those born here but for others who have made this country their home, they have children here, built a life here , and many will retire and even die here, yet all we see are trivial inconsequential nothings all over Facebook , photographs depicting outlandish outfits and other matters of little or no concern, yet material information posted barely gets a read.

Those who would do us harm can count on us not reading , it is easy to account for an entire race if they refuse to read anything of substance.

African-Americans will continue to have a tough road to hoe, even under a second Obama term, God help us if there is a Romney term, 12 % of 308 million is roughly over 36 million people yet 36 million people continue to exist in their own country as second class citizens because they refuse to matter.

God help us.

.

WEB OF DECEIT:

Interesting developments in Jamaica regarding three highly placed individuals , one a prominent politician, the other a high ranking member of the business community and of course not to be outdone a high ranking member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

I do not know the businessman, I’m not surprised that a politician or police officer would be involved in something like this, I’m just surprised and disappointed that James Forbes would get tangled up in this sordid mess. First let me say I have no information on this matter other that which is reported in the Jamaican media, at least not just yet. So I will have to base my analysis on what I have read in the reporting of those entities. Embroiled at the center of this trivial storm in a tea-cup are these three people who stupidly , through arrogance, good-hardheartedness, or loyalty to friends, have been caught up in the trade winds of change, when they ought to have recognized that change never comes without casualties and acted accordingly, or in this case not at all.

Featured here are Member of Parliament Darrel Vaz, Senior Superintendent James Forbes and Businessman Bruce Bicknell: (courtesy Jamaica daily gleaner)

The allegations in this case are that Police Sergeant Jubert Llewellyn who is a traffic cop, stopped a white SUV which was speeding , the car driven by businessman Bruce Bicknell was allegedly doing 80 km in a 50km zone. The allegations are that in the process of giving his documents Bicknell gave two one thousand dollar bills to officer Llewellyn with his documents, the report went on to state that the officer asked mister Bicknell if he was attempting to bribe him, upon which Bicknell offered the money to him, essentially to make the ticket go away.http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20120822/lead/lead1.html

In summation Bicknell was arrested, he calls his friend the Politician, who call his boy the senior police superintendent, to apply some subtle pressure to make it go away, surprise of surprises, the officer stood his ground, The allegations gets more sordid, it is alleged that Vaz visited officer Llewellyn at his job and invited him to drop the case as a favor and that he would be taken care of, meaning more goodies would be coming his way. The sergeant allegedly told Vaz he will need time to think about it, feeling the pressure he went to someone he has confidence in , retired Commissioner of Police Lucius Thomas. Thomas allegedly told Llewellyn to think about his family , whatever that means, he also encouraged mediation, again what the hell does that mean, this is a matter for the courts , what mediation? There is no precedent for this advice in law , but I digress.

So of course a mediation was done in the office of James Forbes the Senior Superintendent, but that was not the end of the matter . Sergeant Llewellyn was told by his boss at a later date to submit a statement involving the whole affair to the office of Assistant Commissioner Felice head of the Anti-Corruption Branch, which he did, of course the Director of Public Prosecution has now ruled that all three men be charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The entire story may be accessed at the link provided above.

This is classic domino effect, for whatever reason mister Bicknell, feeling bothered by the process of having to submit to the authority of the Traffic Court, allegedly offered the officer a bribe, inherent in his mind when he allegedly offered the bribe, was the corruption within the (JCF ). He must have felt sufficiently confident that it would have been accepted, that he didn’t bother contemplating the consequences to himself ‚in the event this officer was not a corrupt Cop.

His gamble did not pay off, so now he had to revert to calling higher authority, the politician. Isn’t that the way it has worked in Jamaica forever> why would it not work this time? So the Politician gets involved. Vaz alleged that he sought the permission of the Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington to speak to officer Llewellyn, those were the words of Daryl Vaz.

If true why would the Commissioner of police grant permission of a politician to speak to an officer in a matter where there are criminal charges pending ? Furthermore where does the Commissioner of Police gets that authority to grant or deny permission of anyone to speak to another office?

So the mediation is set up, on the face of it, it seem abundantly clear that officer Llewellyn received injurious advise from Lucius Thomas, the mediation by itself is an abrogation of Jamaican Law. What was the purpose of the mediation? The mediation was constructed to make the charges go away !! this allegedly happened in the Office of James Forbes (SSP) . Forbes a carrear police officer who is not by anyone’s standard an idiot, displayed a glaring lack of common sense.

There are no allegations that he benefited financially or otherwise from this, at least not yet, so we are left to assume that he was just doing a favor for a friend, or worse someone who has him as a lap-dog, the politician Daryl Vaz.

I have written about these practices (ad naseum) in these blogs the chickens have now come home to roost.

The tragedy of this whole undertaking from the advice of Lucius Thomas (former commissioner of police) to the allegations of Ellington giving his blessings to speak to Sergeant Llewellyn, to the mediation allegedly which took place in the office of James Forbes, all of it was designed to do one thing , and one thing only, circumvent the law.

That is a fact, and all of the players knew it going in, yet they were prepared to keep going, because they were confident that at some stage of the proceedings the corrupting influence of money and other goodies coupled with good old top down pressure would win the day. Of course why would it not work? this is the way it has always worked? What neither of them contemplated, including Ellington if true, is the resolve of integrity.

Good job Jubert Llewellyn, we’ll be watching this one , we are still watching, waiting and wondering, what it will take for the Kern Spencer trial to be resolved?

I am so fed up with what passes for Media that I really do not intentionally watch Television anymore. You are probably wondering what I mean by “intentionally”. Well I really don’t bother to sit around and watch, I hear some of what they are saying as I go about my business, I just don’t want to be told how to process information by a panel of people who should be told how to process information.

If you are wondering what I am ranting about these days ? I ask,“have you seen NBC’s coverage of the recent London Olympics? Do you ever turn your Television to FOX misinformation? Do you care about the fluff they present on CNN? and most of all have you seen the way the so-called media has handled the ongoing election campaign?

If you answered in the affirmative on any of these questions then you understand my disgust. The duty of an independent Media is to present information to the public, to report on events as they happen and hold the feet of leaders to the fire of accountability. Does anyone believe the Media is doing any of these things? Instead we watch as Candidates and their surrogates sit on television and repeat campaign talking points without being challenged by the questioner. In most instances the talking points are little more than distortions, segments of a conversation taken out of context or outright lies.

Yet there are seldom any instances where Journalists ever say that is an outright lie and I will not allow you to come on here and spew that kind of misinformation to the public ! guaranteed if the media started doing this people would have some respect their profession, and the liars would come prepared to answer questions truthfully or don’t come at all, a good first step in cleaning up the political system.

So Joe Biden makes a statement about chains in a speech he gave in Virginia, the Romney campaign desperately looking for something from which to gain traction, made a big deal of what really was nothing. What did the lame stream media do ? they ran with it.Context be damned, Does anyone believe Romney or Ryan or anyone within the Republican party or the Romney campaign care about slurring black people. Romney did it the very next day , feigning anger at the president, in a speech before his supporters Romney said quote:“take your campaign of division and anger and hate, back to Chicago let us get about rebuilding and reuniting America”.http://www.cbsnews.com/8301 – 18563_162-57494114/what-substance-campaign-attacks-get-nastier-than-ever/

A thinly veiled attepmpt, designed to paint the president as the angry black man. The only problem is, Romney ended up looking like a desperate pathetic fool trying to paint Obam as an angry black man

The hypocrisy of Mitt Romney and the right on this issue is blindingly stunning ‚where has the lame-stream media and Romney been in the shameful 4 year assault on President Obama by the incredibly low-class morons on the right who question everything and demean everything about the president, his family and his relatives? Mitt Romney is all too willing to join in, feeding at the slop trough of ignorant racist ignominy.…As this election cycle unfolds we have begun to see the effects of what overwhelmingly huge chunks of dirty money can buy. All the vermin now begin crawling out the wood-work. Billionaire Koch brothers are no longer pretending that the Tea Party is a grass Organization of the people, they are running ADs attacking the president under the banner Americans for prosperity. What they haven’t said is, prosperity for whom.

Here’s the most recent display from Charles and David Koch, two billionaires intent on paying for the presidency, as they seek to install Mitt Romney there as a puppet to do their bidding ‚which will include not just tax breaks for the likes of the Kochs and Romney but utter destruction of our eco system, through fracking , destroying ground water, drilling for oil, destroying wet-lands, nature preserves, and fragile coral reefs, but also the destruction of forests for lumber and the shaving of mountain tops to mine coal. When they are done they will have gazillions in the bank but there will bo no planet left for the rest of the world’s over 7 billion inhabitants, and you know what Charles and David Koch will be just fine with that.http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2012/08/14/in-ad-voters-break-up-with-obama/?mod=google_news_blog

The president’s campaign is not sitting idly by, they are fighting back with counter Ads seen below, showing what the president has been doing, despite republican obstructionist tacticshttp://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/01/18/obama-fights-back-against-koch-brothers-in-new-ad/

This will be the worse election campaign in the history of this country, it is the most desperate Republican candidates all over the country has ever been, and the presidential candidate is the worse I have ever seen in my life-time, already they have rolled out swift boat veterans lying that the president is revealing sensitive Military secrets and endangering the lives of service-members. These are the same tactics Carl Rove and others ‚in concert with Bush 43rd employed against Military veteran and purple heart recipient John Kerry. Imagine Republican putting veterans up to telling the president he did not kill Osama Bin Laden, America did, These bastards are willing to rewrite history to delegitimize this president.

This Republican party has shown that it is willing to do anything for power, they stole the elections in 2000, without consequences when the Republican stacked Supreme Court stopped the vote count in the state of Florida and gave the win to George Bush, I have never quite reconciled that in my mind, with the narrative of the world’s greatest democracy.

Voter suppression laws in most states, designed to give Romney the win in swing states like Pennsylvania as alluded to by that states republican leader in the legislature.http://http://youtu.be/EuOT1bRYdK8.

God help America, the win at all cost strategy employed by the likes of Carl Rove, the nastiness of Sarah Palin, the ignorant racist dogma of Limbaugh, Hannity, Malkin and others will have serious negative resonance beyond our willingness to accept,or confront for generations to come.

Romney Now Signals That He Wants Race To Be The Factor In These Elections

Mitt Romney
Mitt Romney

Republican candidate for president Mitt Romney built his presidential run betting against the American economy. In essence Romney betted against the country he claim to love, and want to represent as its highest elected leader.Republican candidate Mitt Romney

We already knew Romney was a betting man, this was on display during the comical yet woefully pathetic Republican primary campaign, Romney offered the equally pathetic Texas Governor Rick Perry a ten thousand dollar bet, in defense of his Massachusetts health-care plan, Romney-care.

Romney extended the wager to the Texas Governor, denying Perry’s claim that he had suggested his Massachusetts healthcare plan should be a model for the country, an assertion Perry repeated.Romney then vehemently denied that claim, yet there were numerous instances where he extolled the virtues of his plan and argued stridently it should be a model for the country

I was taken a little aback. Driving out to the station this morning, I’m pretty sure I didn’t drive by a house that anyone in Iowa would even think about that a $10,000 bet was even possible, so a little out of touch with the normal Iowa citizen,” Perry said during an interview on Fox News Sunday.http://http//abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/12/rick-perry-mitt-romneys-10000-bet-was-out-of-touch/

Rick Perry’s assertion was right during the republican primaries, it is right today, that impulsive bet on that stage demonstrated something deeper about Mitt Romney that his fellow republican alluded to then, Romney is an out of touch rich guy, but it doesn’t just stop there, he is an out of touch rich guy who feel entitled. We have heard the disrespectful and presumptuous comments from his wife, “President Obama should start packing to leave the white House”, It’s Mitt’s time now, it’s our time”,” we will not release any more tax returns to you people” . Of course those are only from her, Romney himself has created a scrap-book of gaffes and unforced errors , enough for several election cycles, yet the lame stream media has just brushed them aside without challenging them on what they know are lies and campaign talking points.

Romney staked his claim on a single issue, the American Economy will be so bad he will be elected president by default, he essentially made himself a one trick pony, that’s a hell of a bet to take against your own country, and it’s a hell of a bet to make on a presidential run considering the financial and other costs associated with presidential runs.

As President Obama has categorically stated, the economic data coming out the week immediately following each month, should not be looked at within the narrow prism of those monthly numbers, but should be viewed in a broader context, they should be seen as a continued march in the right direction on the road toward an economy built to last. The American people, despite being nervous about their own financial situations, seem to buy into the president’s arguments, poll after poll has shown that voters understood the severity of the economic situation Obama inherited.

They also recognize that the Tea Party House of Representatives, and obstructionist Senate Republicans have done everything to ensure that nothing gets done on this president’s watch. Despite the less than desirable economic data, the Romney campaign realizes that the president is still ahead, Romney decided he had to change the narrative, make it about something else, so he picked Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate. Romney knew he would have to defend Ryan’s budget, which literally decimates the poor and indigent, yet he gambled picking Ryan will generate enough right wing votes to put him over the top. Romney gambled that there is enough animus and hatred on the right for the president all he has to do is add Ryan and the right will be out in droves. The jury will be out on that strategy for awhile, even though some are already arguing that plan may have already backfired as for many Ryan represents whats wrong with a dysfunctional Congress. Romney may have miscalculated how toxic the addition of Ryan may be to seniors because of medicare, as well as his neanderthal positions on the rights of a woman to chose or make decisions with her own body.

Of course true to form Romney is trying to frame that part of the conversation as Obama’s attack on Religion, it may be a tough sell to Catholics who believe that the Ryan budget is an immoral assault on the poor.

Romney calculated that he will go after the Obama record with the lie that he raided the Medicare Trust Fund to the tune of 700 billion dollars, then link it with the other social program the right hates, Obama-Care and he will have a winner. So they came out guns blazing ‚as they always do, all of them, from top to bottom reciting the same talking points, “Obama raided Medicare and put the money into another big government bureaucracy Obama-Care”.

We talked about Paul Ryan and what he stands for in previous blogs , here’ a guy who has a reputation as a deficit hawk that is completely unearned or deserved. Ryan voted for all big Government spending during Bush’s presidency including the wars waged on a credit card, this guy Ryan is a figment of the lame stream media’s imagination, he suddenly turned deficit hawk because there is a Democrat in the White House.

While the lame stream media gets all nostalgic about Ryan the way they did about the brain-dead Sarah Palin , there are even more sinister reasons to be very fearful of this guy Paul Ryan. Set aside the fact that his budget would double down on the Bush-era policies which gave huge tax breaks to the very rich, Ryan wants to add insult to injury by having you, me and everyone else at the bottom pay for it. Simply put, trickle down economics on steroids, as it has been characterized.

How stupid does Romney think we are?

Romney realized that despite his despicable campaign of lies he is loosing, the president’s numbers have remained constant despite lies , obstruction, and deception, despite the Koch Brothers, Sheldon Adelson and other Billionaires tens of millions of dollars of dirty money being spent to buy the elections, Romney cannot close the deal with voters. So Mitt Romney made the calculated decision if I cannot get up to the level of Barack Obama I will drag Obama down to my level.

Romney, for the duration of his 5 year campaign„ has lied and disrespected Obama, he used racial dog whistles to appeal to the far right of the party he represents, at every campaign stops he makes statements that the president doesn’t understand America, the president doesn’t understand American exceptional-ism the President does not get Americans. That feeds into the nastiness previously unseen before the introduction of Sarah Palin into the campaign of 2008.

Romney has not once stood up to those who spew the rancid bile which comes out of that sewer which houses that element. Romney not only does not have the balls or the guts to stand up to those elements, he really does not want to stand up to them, he wants to be president and that’s all that matters he said he will support anyone who will help him get 50% plus 1.

The lame stream media was more than willing to acquiesce to the Romney, Koch ‚Adelson machine, when Vice President Biden speaking about republican desire to let Wall Street write their own rules , In Virginia said Quote:””[Mitt Romney] said in the first hundred days, he’s going to let the big banks once again write their own rules — unchain Wall Street,” Biden told his audience at The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research in Danville, Va.

They’re going to put y’all back in chains,” he said.Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/joe-biden-outrages-romney-campaign-gop-put-americans-back-chains-article‑1.1136217#ixzz23e6s7Laq

Well , context doesn’t matter for Romney , anything to change the subject of his pathetic pick for a running mate, anything to change the fact that his lies about Obama aren’t working so he delved head first into his new strategy telling the lame people on CBS that the Vice President’s comments were one more example of a desperate campaign, no one bothered to ask him how come the president’s campaign is desperate when they are beating him in most categories that matter and within the states that are up for grabs.

They simply let him and his surrogates run with the lies and innuendos unchallenged.

The Obama campaign shot back that Romney had become unhinged ..unhinged ineed,if ever the campaign or the candidate was ever hinged.

Surely that is the best characterization for a frothing mouth pathological liar.

Biden doesn’t need to change the term ” put ya all back in chains” to “shackles” what’s the difference? What makes the right feel that chains refer to black people ? What makes Ryan and the other nut cases use of the word “unshackle ” right and Biden’s wrong? When did the right care about black people anyway? Romney is the most opportunistic politician and literally the worst candidate for president I have ever seen. He is just a pathological liar the kind of which I have never ever seen.

The American voters will have a simple decision to make come November do they want to be forever relegated to serfs in their own country where they will simply be pawns of the filthy rich, the country is already sold out to the richest 1%of the population.

Voters will have to ask themselves why is it wealthy people like Charles and his brother David Koch and others like Sheldon Adelson are willing to spend hundreds of millions to unseat president Obama ?

Charles Koch.….…..David Koch Sheldon Adelson

Why do these filthy rich people want to get Republicans elected? These men are not patriots they are selfish rotten rich egomaniacs, the Koch brothers manufacture myriad products which we routinely use in our homes and places of business each day without giving them any thought. These include petroleum-based products , oil to heat our homes, gas for our cars, paper and lumber products and a litany of other products. They do not want alternative sources of energy, Romney’s trek to the Dakotas to talk to coal miners was not an accident , it was to send a message to the wealthy financiers above that he will allow them to decimate the Eco-system so they can make more money from dangerous fossil fuels which are literally killing off mankind.

Romney once said that climate change must be addressed, he now says climate change cannot be proved and we can ill afford to spend money fixing something that is unproven. this is the reason Obama accuses these people of being from the flat earth society. This Summer is the hottest on record, the Polar Ice caps are melting and drifting south, Farmers all across the country are loosing their crops from the worst drought in 70 years, yet there are republican talking heads saying there is no smoking gun to prove climate change and indict man as a contributor to its emergence. I would encourage these delusional talking heads to take a look at the meaning of circumstantial evidence.

PS: A sad day for American Democracy today, a Pennsylvania Judge ruled that Republican voter suppression laws devised by republicans in that state’s legislature and signed into law by the Republican Governor , may go forward.

It is indeed a very sobering time in America that this great nation seem hell-bent on self-destruction, Forty seven years after the voting Rights was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson on August 5, 1965, over 30 States in these United states led by Republican legislators and Governors have turned back the clock with draconian voter suppression laws designed to steal the elections and hand the country to a corporate hack called Mitt Romney and his puppeteer, the Koch Brothers.

Where is the outrage, where is the much vaunted moral authority of America, ? Where is the much vaunted American exceptionalism? Is this what Romney means when he talks about leadership, is this the American exceptionalism republicans like Romney and others talk about on the trail?

Mitt Romney should be ashamed to be running a campaign of this nature, but he has no shame , he is a man on a mission to nowhere, he has no character, simply an empty suit who will do anything and say anything to be president, so he may fulfil the agenda of his corporate masters, a dangerous man.

May God help America if this guy is elected.

SAD FOR CARL LEWIS.

I listened and read some of the unfortunate statements that has surfaced from some quarters, after the brilliant performances of Jamaica’s athletes at the Beijing and more recently the London Olympics.

As I age, I seek to be more objective, less impetuous, I make greater effort to seek out common ground with those with whom I disagree, or conversely those who disagree with me, with a view to at least understanding how people who disagree with me feel, or at least walk away with an understanding of how they arrived at their perspective.

Carl Lewis

As such, the comments of former American Olympian Carl Lewis, is the most unfortunate and painful,of all the chatter. Lewis’ statements are the most troubling for me, because on the face of it ‚we could argue he is bad-minded, envious, angry, jealous, whatever. We may find a whole slew of explanations for Mister Lewis’ outburst at the Jamaican contingent’s success, and particularly that of world recorder holder Usain Bolt.

Following Bolt’s performance in Beijing, Lewis told Sports Illustrated: “Countries like Jamaica do not have a random program, so they can go months without being tested. I’m not saying anyone is on anything, but everyone needs to be on a level playing field.Read more: http://http://dailycaller.com/2012/08/10/bolt-no-respect-for-carl-lewis/

If you don’t question that in a sport that has the reputation it has right now, you’re a fool,” Lewis said. “Period.“http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-sn-usain-bolt-rips-carl-lewis-may-lose-some-american-support-20120810,0,4663081.story

I feel a certain sense of sorrow at mister Lewis’ statements because of the deeper underlying reasons I believe we are still waging this war against each other as great , great grand-children of slaves. No one was more proud when Carl Lewis was winning his medals in the 80’s, for me his victories were our victories, all Jamaicans cheered Lewis and Riddick and Williams and all other American athletes of color who rose above the vicious assault of Jim Crowe in America, to dominate track and field the way Mohamed Ali Had persevered to dominate and inspire the world even after being imprisoned.

Shelly Anne Fraser-Pryce , fastest woman in the world.

Our unique Jamaican-ness makes us identify with people wherever and whenever they struggle for freedom justice, and basic human rights, and dignity. As our leaders have fought to get Nelson Mandel released from that horrible prison-cell on Robin Island in South Africa, so too did we cheer for mister Lewis when he won, his victories were our victories, he was one of us.

Even though we had our own athletes in those Olympics, Lewis’ victories represented something bigger for us, it was more that sports, those victories were political statements to the fortitude and the indomitable spirt of oppressed people to persevere to survive and to triumph.

Jamaican Olympic team.

Comments coming from the usual sources do not bother me much, after all those who were for generations used to having unfair advantages ‚were not going to believe others can compete successfully and win without the benefits of those advantages they were used to having.

Chairman of the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO), Professor Winston Davidson, is describing claims by a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), that it is difficult to find and test Jamaican athletes, as “a vicious attack on a small country”. Davidson’s comments came moments after he emerged from a meeting with JADCO board members who spent the greater part of yesterday combing through their database to find evidence to back up the claim by the IOC official.

Professor Winston DavidsonProfessor Winston Davidson:

No evidence

The members turned up empty-handed in their search.“What Mr (Dick) Pound said was blatantly false. We knew it was spurious, but we spent the whole day trying to find evidence of it,” Davidson said.“We don’t think they would do this to America and other bigger countries. It is a vicious attack on a small country,” Davidson fumed.http://http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20120814/lead/lead1.html

The euphoria on the faces of Shelly Anne Fraser-Pryce and others messers Lewis and Pound, is not that which you are used to seeing from some of your own country-folk and colleagues, these are the expressions of pure unadulterated ‚joy from accomplishing against all odds.

Veronica Campbell-Brown.

The thrill of victory from hard work, perseverance, and succeeding when you are told you couldn’t , you are not good enough. That gentlemen is what you see on the tracks and in their performances and the indelible joy etched in their individual faces, that gentlemen is not from dope, that is pure accomplishment.

You both should try it sometime.

It is sad when a black man allows himself to be a tool to those who would destroy his brothers, and sisters. Carl Lewis has further relegated himself to the dust-bin of history, another (Benedict Arnold) , another Uncle-Tom who is too self-absorbed in his own failings too consumed in his own miserable life to acknowledge and celebrate the successes of those who have genuinely earned it.

For that I truly feel sorry for Carl Lewis, a man who has accomplished terrific feats in track and field, but who has allowed self-centered narcissistic egomania to render him a mere foot-note in history.

Jamaica’s Dominance And The Jealousy Of It’s Detractors.

Jamaica have throughout the London Olympics, demonstrated that it is one of the most successful nations in the world of athletics. This however has not gone without suspicion and innuendos from some. They either hate the fact our dominance had no assistance from them or, are just bad-minded and jealous of our achievements.

Recently Carl Lewis, who had questioned whether our athletes were indeed drug-free subsequent to the Beijing Olympics, renewed that pronouncement .

We must, however, not be too concerned about this narcissist who has no moral authority to point finger at any athlete as a drug cheat, because he himself was tested on two occasions prior to the 1984 Olympics.

Carl Lewis then and now

Unlike other Sports personalities Lewis did not attract lucrative endorsement contracts, many argue this latest salvo from him is an opportunistic attempt to garner some attention. A crass attempt at re-energizing his non-existent career. Others point to plans Lewis has to run for the US Congress as a reason for his self serving outburst. It doesn’t stop there , recently International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound in an interview with Reuters Television claimed that the (IOC) was experiencing difficulties find and testing Jamaican athletes.

Of course the local Anti Doping body in Jamaica, The Anti Doping Commission (JADCO) debunked those assertions, through an executive member wondered whether such suspicion would have been directed at a developed country like the United States. Dick Pound is a white male from Canada.

Jamaica is a proud Nation which have stamped it’s presence on the world stage, detractors ‘who seek to garner attention from our success by casting aspersions should know that this little rock of 2.8 million is as we say (“wi likkle but wi tallawa”) translation , we are small but we are a force to be reckoned with.

Errol McLeish.

ROMNEY/RYAN ‚TROJAN HORSE.

The debate over priorities USA Ad rages on, the Ad features steel-worker Joe Soptic lamenting the loss of his wife to cancer. Mister Soptic lost his job at a steel-plant ‚when the Romney led Bain Capital closed the plant where he had worked for years.

First off that priorities Ad, does not run on television anywhere, the Ad, was made, the lame-stream media picked up on it and it went viral, so in essence priorities gets their message out without having to spend millions doing so, brilliant.

That aside, some of the loudest voices, as per usual, are coming from lame democrats.

Former Indiana US Senator Evan Bayh who left the Senate bemoaning the lack of bi-partisanship in Washington DC, was on Fox Sunday morning August 12th acquiescing to John Roberts’ prompting that winning dirty leaves the victor no mandate to govern.

Evan Bayh

John Roberts formerly of CNN is now one of the talking heads on Fox news, he furthers FOX ’ right-wing agenda, pretty much like everyone else who works on that organ of misinformation and lies. Democratic guests on his Sunday morning show with will find themselves arguing their case against Roberts and the other Republicans.

Anyway back to Evan Bayh, what does Bayh mean agreeing with a right-wing hack, that in the event President Obama wins dirty he will get no help from Republicans in Governing? Is this guy for real ? Evan Bayh was a Hillary Clinton supporter, Barack Obama won Indiana not because of Evan Bayh, but despite him. Evan Bayh represents the group, republican or democrat ‚which is most resistant to Obama’s presidency, white male.

This is the most nonsensical statement that could come from any person claiming to be a democrat, where was the help coming from republicans, day one of Obama’s presidency? was it in the statement of Bayh’s former colleague from Kentucky Mitch Mc Connel whose stated goal is to make Barack Obama a one term president? was it in the historic number of Republican filibusters in the Senate which makes passing the president’s agenda impossible? Or was it in the unanimity with which his republican friends have ensured that they jammed the president’s policies, policies which by the way would provide jobs and improve the lives of American’s.

Or was it in the way so-called blue-dog democrats have wrangled and argued, when they had the house and senate and did not pass the president’s agenda? Does Bayh support the president, is he pretending to support Barack Obama or is he a presidential-candidate in waiting?

Democrats, cowards that they are, one and all, including those in the Administration with the exception of DNC chair Debbie Wassermann Schultz are all running for the exits from an Ad which is not running on paid Television, but which cuts to the heart of the truth.

If people lose their jobs because a company acquire the company which employs them , load up that company with debt, then closes down the company leaving them out in the cold without money or health insurance, guess what they die. Joe Soptic’s wife died from cancer, whether or not it had anything to do with Romney and Bain is immaterial. Romney wants to repeal the affordable care Act which precludes insurance companies from denying coverage to people with what they characterize as pre-existing conditions.

If sick people cannot get health care they die. It’s that simple, no wonder the country is in this mess in so many areas, with people like Evan Bayh who are seen as leaders. It’s little wonder the democratic party gets shoved around by republicans, bye-bye Evan Bayh you are certainly not missed.

Say what you want about the Tea Party, but they have carried out an ideological purge of the Republican party , leaving only people who support their agenda and are willing to stand and be counted as loyal foot-soldiers for their cause. Their narrative may be lying and deception but their discipline is impeccable.

DNC Chair, Florida Congress-woman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is far more effective a surrogate for the president than even David Axlerod who seem to have something stuck in his throat whenever he is on television to articulate the president’s policies, Wasserman-Shultz aptly laid it out for John Roberts Sunday, indicting the propaganda FOX news as hypocritical for lamenting priority’s Ad, when they never opened their mouths to condemn the assault against the president’s nationality, humanity, credibility, sincerity or otherwise.

TROJAN HORSE

Paul Ryan

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has demonstrated yet again that he has absolutely no conviction, or character. As was being speculated in the lame-stream media Romney caved in to the demands of the far right-wing of his party by selecting forty-three year-old Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan to be his running-mate,. Many in the media wants you to believe that this little Trojan-horse will use his witt, charm and intelligence to add vigor and vitality to the Romney campaign, I humbly beg to differ, in as much as Sarah Palin’s introduction of hate , vitriol , and demagoguery did not help John McCain I submit this guy Ryan will bring strong appeal to the most intransigent fringe of the party but will chase away seniors in droves.

Paul Ryan wants to make Medicare a voucher program, he wants to dismantle Medicaid as we know it, he wants to repeal Roe Vs Wade, and remove a woman’s right to choose an abortion even if she is raped. Ryan wants to give trillions in added tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans and pass on the bill to the middle-class.

The Ryan budget is more of the trickle-down-economics that has continued to wreak havoc on the American economy and will have further devastating consequences if allowed to be enacted into law.

That document in Ryan’s hand is a destructive prescription for the middle and working class, more give-aways to the very rich. How stupid do they think the electorate is? Did the trickle-down economics of the Bush years make anyone but the 1%‘s life better?

The optics above are not accidental, these events are not staged out of ignorance, these are carefully staged events with the optics sending powerful messages to whom they are intended. Look for more wars, most probable with Iran, look for terrible upheaval in the Middle-East if there is a Romney presidency, if you thought the Bush years were horrible a Romney presidency will be horrific.

Here’s what Romney/Ryan have in store for those who refuse to read, or those who refuse to be objective, whether out of racial-animus, apathy or otherwise. More illegitimate wars ‚more money for wealthy corporations ‚like Cheney/Bush did.

This guy is a straw candidate, he has no reason for wanting to be president other than ambition. His wife Anne Romney said quote“It’s Mitt’s time, it’s our time now”. That statement presented a brief synopsis of the Romney candidacy in a nut-shell.

That optic above is a signal to Netanyahu the Israeli right-winger, we will crush Iran and do whatever you want us to do.

Voters who are mad about 3 Trillion dollars added to the debt under Obama,( money spent to stabilize the economy by the way), will have a lot more that to be worried about. If they are mad about 8.3 percent unemployment they should vote Mitt Romney. If they are angry about slow job growth, health care they never had, and an end to America’s unfunded wars, they should vote Romney ‚they will have a lot to cheer for in short order. Romney/Ryan is Bush/Chaney 2.0.

Voters had better acquaint themselves with the issues and know what time it is , these pictured above certainly do.

Romney Stands For Nothing, So He Falls For Everything.

I wrote recently in these blogs that Republicans sincerely believe that social programs being proposed by Democrats are reparations for the enslavement of blacks in America.

Well my friends it took only a few days for you to see that I was indeed right in making the claims I did in that blog-post, Mitt Romney’s desperate presidential campaign has dredged up the oft-used bogey man of Welfare to scare white people into voting for them.

What’s laughable is that whenever they go for the welfare scare, you know they are desperate. Ronald Reagan the holy grail of perfection for right-wing nut cases used the scare of welfare queens to make his argument that rich people were being asked to subsidise the life style of the lazy, shiftless negroes.

Obama Romney

He was not the first to play the race card to get votes and he certainly will not be the last. As I argued in my blog-post on this subject ‚Newt Gingrich in pushing for welfare reform during the Clinton Presidency, had a very rude awakening when he discovered that the vast majority of welfare recipients were not black people but middle-aged white women. That discovery quieted the welfare scare for a couple of election cycles. That did not stop the old hate monger Gingrich, from scraping the bottom of the race-baiting well in this very primary past, calling the president the welfare president.

So what does Mitt Romney hope to gain from attacking President Obama on the subject of welfare ? Does Romney believe with 8.3 percent unemployment (arguably caused by republican intransigence), the education of the public by groups like occupy wall street about the inequity of our financial system, and the Obama’s campaign pummeling of Romney on Bain, that somehow voters are going to say “I want to side with the rich guy”?

I’ll tell you straight up it’s not gonna happen, all the polls are pointing to Obama pulling away from Romney in this race, even the FOX polls have Obama up by 9 points nationally.

Romney doesn’t want to talk about his time at Bain Capital, he doesn’t want to talk about his tenure as Governor of a liberal New England State, he doesn’t want to talk about his signature health care accomplishment (Romney care), he doesn’t want to talk about his tax returns, he doesn’t want to talk about his Mormon Faith.

What the hell can we talk about ?

Mitt Romney wants to be elected President of the United States as a stealth candidate, with the voting public having no idea who he is.IN effect he wants to be president by default.

Mitt Romney is feeling the heat of having to represent a party that has lurched alarmingly off track , (if it ever was on track to begin with). The Republican party of Chuck Hagel, Colin Powell, and William Cohen is a distant memory. The Republican party has been hijacked by a moronic mob of raging lunatic pitch-fork bearing witch-hunters.

What is left is a bunch of degenerates led by the likes of Rusk Limbaugh, Dick Chaney, Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin and others. Straw men who front in the party are just figure heads for the lunatic fringe.Mitt Romney was once the Governor of the state of Massachuset, Mitt Romney was once a reasonable businessman who wanted to do good in politics, and he tried , no one believes Mitt Romney is an evil man.

What we believe is that Romney has allowed the quest for power to cause him to sell his soul to the devil, his father must be disappointed in what his son turned out to be. The true test of a man is never about how much money he makes, a man is judged by the content of his character (Dr, Martin Luther King Jnr.)

Romney has shown no character, no balls in standing up to the hate mongers on the right, he has steadfastly refused to talk about policies that he intends to enact if he was to be elected president. He has sought instead to demagogue the president for doing a bad job , even though president Obama has done a decent job , given the hand he was dealt.

I am not arguing that Romney should go about the country extolling the virtues of Obama, what I do believe is that a man of character would tell the slime-balls, NO whenever they lift their despicable heads to say ignorant moronic neanderthal things about the president.

Romney however cannot do that , his campaign is built on lies, he has no honesty , no character, no soul. He wants to be president , not because he cares about people, not because it’s a calling as per George Bush, he wants to be president because he and his wife believes “it’s their turn”.

THE IRONY THAT IS MITT ROMNEY

How ironic, Mit Romney is now whining that the President and his surrogates are telling lies on him, this in reference to an Ad by Bill Burton’s Priorities USA http://www.prioritiesusaaction.org/ which features a steel-worker ‚Joe Soptic talking about his wife dying from cancer after the steel plant where he worked was closed by Romney and Bain Capital. Bain Capital is the company Romney owned and operated which took over businesses loaded them up with debt then filed for bankruptcy. This practise saw workers thrown out of their jobs, loosing their homes, and health insurance, usually resulting in dire hardship for former employees, while Bain Capital, Romney and their share-holders reaped huge cash wind-falls.

As is usual when liberals fight back the morality police comes out of the wood-work gnashing their teeth that the Ad has gone too far. The brain-dead Morning Joe program on MSNBC spent an entire segment moaning about the Ad, with the dim-witted Mika Bresinski putting on a full display of why she is an intellectual light-weight, with very little to associate her with her established father. Scarborough and the other talking-heads were more than happy to spend that entire segment lamenting the Priorities Ad , but are totally incapable of getting either Romney or any of his campaign surrogates on their show to defend his two-year long campaign of lies and distortions against president Obama.

Mitt Romney is a pathological liar, ask Newt Gingrich who now conveniently supports him .http://http://articles.latimes.com/2012/jan/03/news/la-pn-gingrich-romney-liar-iowa-caucus-20120103

Romney Care

Mitt Romney’s entire campaign is built on lies. The very notion that his signature health care law, Romney care in Massachusetts, is somehow different from the Affordable Care Act, Obama-care is a farce and a terrific stretch of the truth, and Romney knows it. Romney was once proud of this piece of legislation and he has trumpeted its success before this election cycle. Interestingly Romney is now unable to talk about this positive piece of legislation he crafted because of the fear he has for the far-right nut jobs that have now taken over the republican party.

Mitt Romney

The argument that his plan was crafted for his state, and not for the whole country is the biggest piece of baloney this side of the Mississippi, there is no credibility to that incredulous assertion , at least none that makes sense to anyone except the fools on the right. The inference inherent in that idiocy is , the fact that his plan works and is loved by the people of Massachusetts is a success makes it a non-starter for the entire country.

Apologising for America

Mitt Romney never misses a oppurtunity to paint the president as an apologiser-in-chief , he stridently asserts that President Obama has apologised to foreign leaders for America’s transgressions.

Despite the fact that this lie has been debunked over and over again by independent fact-checkers, who themselves assert that this president has never apologised for America , Romney refuses to allow facts to get in the way of his appeasement-lies, designed to assuage the lunatic hate mongers on the right.

I cringe at playing the devils advocate for even a second but let’s just assume that President Obama had apologised to , let’s say the Iraqi people for the invasion of their country which killed arguably hundreds of thousands of their country-men, how would that be a bad thing?

What if president Obama had apologised to the nations which had their Nationals water-boarded as per the orders of Bush/Chaney ‚contrary to the Geneva Conventions which outlawed torture, how would that be a bad thing?

What if the president had apologised to Cuba for over fifty years of blockade, how would that be bad? I could go on and on but I stop here.

Mitt Romney is a member of the Mormon Faith, the Church of Latter Day Saints, I am not conversant with their teachings , yet I would wager that they preach forgiveness, I would also wager that they teach that redemption comes through confessions and asking for forgiveness. Maybe Mitt Romney has not been attending church, maybe Romney believes that sending a large check will get him into Heaven.

It behoves Mitt Romney to acquaint himself with the principles of honest, fidelity to the truth, confessions of the heart and asking for forgiveness.

Maybe Romney should acquaint himself to the principle of doing onto others as he would have them do onto him.

The truth is Mitt Romney more than likely had zero to do with that poor lady’s death , yet he is simply getting a taste of the snake-oil he has been peddling for the last five years he has been running for president.

You spit in the sky it falls in your face, karma is a… you know what I mean? Why not run a decent campaign? Why not outline a policy ‑strategy that you honestly feel will be better than the one being pursued by the present Administration? How about truth and honesty mister Romney ?

You see whatever you do tend to have a boomerang effect, you lie , lies comes back to haunt you, is power worth your credibility and honor? You have money and lots of it , how about standing for something bigger than yourself? How about telling the racists on FOX and all over hate radio that you want to be different, that you do not hate president Obama, you simply don’t agree with his policies?

Naaah that would be way beyond what could be asked of you, after all it does not matter how you win , it’s just that you win, right?

Take a look in the mirror and ask yourself what would my father George Romney do? I’ll tell you he sure would stand for something, can you?

George Romney

HAPPY 50th. BIRTH-DAY JAMAICA:

Yesterday Jamaica the Island nation, celebrated 50 years of Independence from great Britain, there are more than enough questions regarding our independence, some even maintain that we would have been better off maintaining the colonial shackles.

I will refrain from making any comments on the authenticity of those arguments , sufficient to say that as a child of the newly independent Nation I am honored and indeed grateful to have been born in such a beautiful place.

There are many things we will have to look at as we enter the next 50 years with a view to determining where we went wrong along the way and take a concerted stand to ensure that we have a better second half than we did the first.

There are presently many positive things happening in our country , none more thrilling, than the timely Olympic games being held in London England and the pride that athletes like Usain Bolt, Shelly-Anne Fraser-Price and others have brought to our country.

This blog-site salutes all Jamaicans, but more-so we salute our beautiful Island in the sun.

Happy 50th birthday Jamaica.

How Racial Politics Have Stifled Economic Recovery:

Republicans have potentially robbed this country of significant growth over the term of President Barack Obama out of spite , racial hatred, and politics.

Clearly there are economic head-winds which affect how the American economy behaves, after all we now live in a globalized economy where sniffles in Asia causes coughs here in America, there is no way around these hurdles anymore , we are becoming increasingly inter-dependent on each other to survive. How does that happen you ask? Well, when me have orders of heavy machinery or other Industrial equipment from countries in Europe, American workers have jobs building those machines , if conditions in those European countries are such that there is reduced or non-existent demand for those machines , Americans have no jobs to go to. Conversely when we are without jobs and are unable to buy their products their economies struggle . Wars and the threats of war affect economic activity, as we have seen with oil prices whenever the warmongers ratchet up talk of war the market gets skittish, investors do not like uncertainty . You would not put your hard-earned money into uncertain situations would you? Well there you have it!

I wrote that entire prologue to get to the word (uncertainty). They understand the consequences of uncertainty

Republican opponents of Barack Obama understood this when he was elected to the presidency , they understand it today.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell ® Kentucky and House Speaker John Boehner ® Ohio, these are the faces of obstruction.

Imagine where the economy would be if Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s priority was to work toward the betterment of the country they all claim to love, and not as he put it, quote (“My first priority is to ensure that Barack Obama is a one term president”) end quote.

Imagine where we would be if John Boehner had used the powers he was given for good. Boehner a man who cried when Republicans won the House in 2010 and he was elevated to Speaker, Boehner talked then about his journey from birth to the powerful job of Speaker of the American House of Representatives. One would have thought that if anyone understood the trials, travails and journey of the less privileged surely Boehner would be that person. The sojourn of Barack Hussein Obama, from Hawaii, to Kenya, to Indonesia, to Chicago to 1600 Pennsylvania avenue, is not that different from the less than ideal circumstances of Boehner’s biography.

Boehner was born in Reading, Ohio, the son of Mary Anne (née Hall) and Earl Henry Boehner, the second of twelve children. His father was of German descent and his mother had German and Irish ancestry.[2][3][4][5][6] He grew up in modest circumstances, having shared one bathroom with his eleven siblings in a two-bedroom house in Cincinnati. His parents slept on a pull-out couch.[7] He started working at his family’s bar at age 8, a business founded by their grandfather Andy Boehner in 1938.[7] He has lived in Southwest Ohio his entire life. All but two of his siblings still live within a few miles of each other; two are unemployed and most of the others have blue-collar jobs.[Wikipedia

Boehner is the first in his family to have attended college, it took him 7 years to earn his BA Degree in Business Administration from Xavier University, where he graduated in 1977, as he was forced to work to finance his college education.

This story seems patently similar to the story of the guy who is now president, born to a black absentee father and a white mother, a mother who re-married, a man from Indonesia and took him there with her, then took him back to Hawaii and left him in the care of his all white grand parents. Yes the ingredient characteristics may be dis-similar, but the struggles and determination inherent in both stories are the hall-mark of what makes success fulfilling, not just the destination, more so the journey, yes these two men’s stories are vastly similar.

Yet the direction both men have taken with the immense blessings God has bestowed on them, could not be further from each other. As Obama spends his political capital struggling for the cause of the dispossessed, passing the Affordable care Act, keeping American workers employed by bailing out the Auto Industry , fighting for women’s’ rights by signing the Lilly Ledbetter Act into law, ending the Iraq war, ending don’t ask don’t tell, winding down the war in Afghanistan, going after Osama Bin Laden surgically and removing him from the equation, taking out the top-tiered leadership of the al-Qaeda network, and prevented any further terror attacks on American soil and a whole litany of other successes, where is John Boehner?

Boehner conversely, has hitched his wagon to that of the most reactionary far right zealots in this country who cannot revel in the fact that the country they claim to love, has evolved so much so that it elected someone from a minority group to the most powerful position in the country.

Does that make John Boehner a Racist ? I seriously doubt that he is, what it makes John Boehner is a coward.

Republican Newt Gingrich swept to power during the early years of the Clinton Presidency on the so-called contract with America [sic] (more like the contract on America). Gingrich brought with him a whole freshman class loyal to him, who did his bidding. Boehner did not bring the tea party hacks to congress and they surely are not answerable to him. This is where the cowardice of Boehner is exposed, he wants to work with Obama to get things done but he knows that there are Eric Cantor and Paul Ryan waiting in the wings looking over his shoulders to see any sign of compromise in him, upon which they would hang him out to dry.

John Boehner does not want a mutiny aboard ship he would rather be a figure-head Captain than discipline the crew and be made to walk the plank.

As such, John Boehner’s Speakership/captaincy will be an infamous stewardship, one which saw unprecedented attempts to overturn the affordable care act which is in effect helping Americans, a vote to hold the Attorney General of the United States Eric Holder in contempt of congress over trivialities, taking numerous votes to limit women’s rights, and doing almost nothing to help govern the Nation republicans were elected to govern.

Boehner’s stewardship is an abject failure, the approval ratings of the nation’s congress is in the single digits, that will be the legacy of John Boehner, a man who came from humble beginnings to attain the sweet taste of political power, only to squander it on cheap political posturing and ideological obstructionism.

John Boehner could have made a difference, he could have stood up to the far right politics of those in his caucus and even though he does not have the life tenure of Supreme Court Justice John Roberts who clearly was mindful of his responsibilities and maybe his legacy in his vote to uphold the Affordable Care Act, Boehener could have chosen to die on his feet rather than live on his knees.

It is never a good idea to have the tail wagging the dog, The American House of Representatives is now a dysfunctional joke that is doing nothing to aid struggling Americans, that will be the legacy of John Boehner.

The difference between the leadership of Barack Obama and John Boehner is the difference in this election coming up in November, that is the contrast, not necessarily that between Obama and Romney.

Boehner should look at Barack Obama and learn some lessons on leadership, to whom much is given , much is expected, on this John Boehner is woefully lacking.

PS: To the birthers who continue to argue that Barack Obama is a Muslim because of his time spent as a child in the Nation of Indonesia, I understand how you would feel that way , after all Netanyahu’s education and time spent in the United States certainly made him a Christian.

Romney ..spells Disaster.

Gaff prone Republican presumptive nominee for president Mitt Romney has so far ran a campaign of loathsome lies against Barack Obama, which is unprecedented in our lifetime.

Yet despite the lies ‚misinformation and blatant distortions,Romney cannot seem to close the deal with his own party, much less so-called independents.

Forgive me for the slight Independents, I just don’t buy the baloney you guys sell, I think you all know who you are going to vote for despite claiming that you are independents, I just believe you are a group of people who will change your votes based on who offers you what you want to hear.

I may be out on a limb here, but help me out Independents, do explain to me how you could possibly vote republican if you are a person who believes that every person should have a shot at life, that the taxes commandeered from us, is better spent on health-care, education, helping the old and indigent, than on waging wars on countries far less able than us to defend themselves?

Conversely my Independent friends, how can you vote democratic if you believe in tiny government that allows the poor to fend for themselves or die from hunger, if you believe that women should carry a baby to full-term, even if she was violently raped,if you believe that health care should be made into a voucher program which covers some illnesses and when it runs out , well tough the patient is out of luck, if you believe that the super rich should be given even more money even though they do not need it, how could you vote democratic?

You see my so-called Independent friends, you are really not independent you are just cowardly unprincipled people who are willing to sell your votes to the highest bidder.

Glad I got that off my chest.

Ok so we know that most Republicans are liars.

We know they will do anything to gain power, we saw that in Bush V Gore that principles be damned, win at all cost even if it means stopping the vote count to get the result they wanted.

We know that there are racists everywhere, most racists now have sanctuary in the Republican party.

There a lot of other things we know and have seen in this party which has lurched drastically to the right after the election of Barack Obama, so much so that it is now perched precariously on the precipice of irrelevance.

What is it that frightened them you ask? “are you kidding”?Many whites ran to that party from as far back as the 60’s after the signing of the Civil Rights Act into Law by President Linden Johnson. Many people now find it ridiculous that some people could argue that the rights they have and take for granted were somehow unique to them and their kind and off-limits to others.

Whether one agrees with same-sex union or not, it behoves all of us to look at their cause in parallel prism, as we see our racial problems.

As I have argued previously in other blogs, some whites who have never been exposed to other cultures have very parochial views regarding others, whether on the issue of race , religion, sexual orientation or any other defining characteristic, their views are limited to their State, or in some cases their county.

Many people in parts of this great mass of land have never left the county in which they were born and neither have they allowed their minds to wander to other parts of America ‚much less another country. It in not inconceivable then to understand how some with evil intent would prey on these people alluding to and stoking their fears born from the parents of ignorance, fear and parochialism.

The Republican Party is now the engine of fear, ignorance, racial intolerance, and hatred, lies, and demagoguery. The Republican Party is destined to become a regional party of white people if they continue on this course they are on. It is impossible to see how their direction can be sustained in light of the fact that they have alienated Blacks, Hispanics, with the exception of the Cubans in Miami, Gays and Lesbians, most Jews, Asians, Muslims, women, and the list goes on. With minorities now making up the majority in America, and the Hispanic population growing at a rapid rate it boggles the mind to understand their strategy.

Is the strategy to purge voters lists as we have seen in Florida Pennsylvania, and other states? Does the strategy include mass-deportation of black and brown people, including children born in America to un-documented residents? Does the strategy include other legislation which will further disenfranchise some people from voting as we have seen with the taking away of rights of people who had some problems with the law even though they have paid their debt to society?

Just recently Governor Duval Patrick of Massachuset sent back a bill to the Legislature that would arbitrarily remove any discretion from a trial Judge if an offender has three strikes, irrespective of the offence committed by said offender. This legislation is of course as you guessed it the brain child of Republicans in the Massachuset Legislature. Patrick sent the bill back demanding changes which will give Judges discretion to make decisions of mitigation depending on the case. Some have stridently argued that removing the arbitrary 3 strikes clause from the Bill has defeated the purpose, and don’t be surprised to learn that those comments have come from at least one Democrat in the Massachuset Legislature.

Despite mounting evidence that 3 strikes laws do more harm than good, in states like California and New York, Republicans in the state of Massachuset are prepared to go ahead and institute draconian laws that are sure to have serious negative consequences on the lives of poor people who are unable to afford high-priced competent legal representation.

Legislators may change the Bill, or they may send it back to him for his signature, in which case he may sign or veto it, upon which the legislature will seek to over-ride his veto.

These it seem are the strategies Republicans have decided to employ going forward, let see how long they will get away with it.

As Republicans employ strategies designed to steal the upcoming general elections, their standard bearer took a trip overseas to burnish his non-existent foreign policy credentials.

Mitt Romney went to England and insulted the Brits even as they staged the 30th Olympiad in the so-called modern era. But before we get to his British débâcle, one of his campaign operatives crowed that “Romney will have a good trip ‚as both he and the Brits share an Anglo-Saxon heritage” .

You cannot make these things up, Romney’s campaign in the year 2012 believes that an understanding is guaranteed because people have a shared blood-line, this is the belief of the Romney campaign, dumb , racist ignorant but we will come back to the dumb racist ignoramuses.

So Romney goes to England and did not take questions from the American Press corps, but was still able to make a jack-ass of himself, (no disrespect to Jack-asses)

Being the pompous ego-maniac he is, he couldn’t contain himself when asked by NBC’s Brian Williams how he felt about the preparations so far regarding the Olympics, eager to show his business bona fides Romney jumped head first telling Williams that there were a few things that were disconcerting to him, detailing immigration officers on strike , insufficient security Guards and other issues, he went into a litany of what he thought was wrong.

Romney wasn’t answering the question as a potential president of the United States , he is forever stuck as the head honcho of Bain Capital, and the guy who ran the Salt Lake City Olympics, and he would be damned if he wasn’t going to show how superior his skills were. The only problem is, he forgot he was in another country.

So he ended up getting impaled in Britain by London’s Mayor, who refered to him as “This guy Romney”, British Prime Minister David Cameron a Conservative with whom Romney should have had a love fest, stated publicly that England was putting on the Olympics in a major world Metropolis, which is different from staging the event in  “never-where” , an apparent slight, in reference to Salt Lake City. The British Media was not going to let this guy off the hook either, one publication blared the headline, MITT the TWITT , another asked “who invited Romney the party pooper”?

So like everything he had done before by the next day Romney was in damage control, walking back his comments, explaining that everything would be fine, the more he kissed up the uglier the situation became. I cannot stand the guy, but I had pity for him , he showed himself to be an absolute fool. Conservative icon Charles Krauthammer stated emphatically that he had run out of adjectives, he was mystified, it was incomprehensible he lamented “all this guy had to do is say nothing”.

Romney wasn’t done embarrassing himself , which is cool with me, but the potential harm he has done to the United States on this trip is serious and no laughing matter. After meeting with the Palestinian president he tried to kiss up to Jews in Israel including Casino magnate Sheldon Alderson who is hell-bent on buying the elections for republicans.

You notice a stark difference in economic vitality” between Israel and the Palestinians, Romney said, proceeding to badly flub the economic output numbers on both sides. “And as I come here and I look out over this city and consider the accomplishments of the people of this nation, I recognize the power of at least culture and a few other things,” he said, citing an innovative business climate and the Jewish history of thriving in difficult circumstances).(The Seattle Times.com)

Saeb Erekat, a senior Palestinian official, said Romney’s comments are hurting U.S. efforts to restore Washington’s standing in the Muslim and Arab world.

There are 57 Muslim and Arab countries here, and while U.S. diplomats are exerting every possible effort to explain their position, here comes Romney, with no knowledge of the region, its history and culture, and gives such statements, which will only serve as ammunition in the hands of extremists in this region,” Erekat said. The Seattle Times.com)

Can you imagine the level of vitriolic bile laden attacks which would have been thrown at Barack Obama had he done a tenth of the damage Romney has done when he took a similar trip in 2008? What makes Romneys flubs even more disgusting and infuriating are the continuous lies he tells about Obama apologising for America, as if apologising is a bad thing, had the president done so.

He lies that the president does not understand American exceptionalism, code word for (superiority over others). It is that racist, ignorant, arrogance which caused him to make the statements he did in Israel.

He works himself into a lather , frothing at the mouth as he lies about Obama’s record, yet he refuses to release his tax records, he refuses to tell voters that he indeed has money in tax shelters in the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Switzerland nad God knows where else , yet he has the nerve to question the president’s commitment to America.

This is a guy who find no person objectionable as long as they give him monetary or other support, Donald Trump among the many, no comment is deemed to be offensive by this guy, he has no scruples, no soul , he has no moral character, many argue that he is a good family man, I would humbly ask what makes a man good if he is only good to his own family? Where is the benevolence of Romney other than to the Mormon Church? This guy is like water, no shape , no character, he say and does anything to get what he wants . He takes the shape of whatever circumstance he is in.

These are the characteristics of a potentially dangerous person who can easily be manipulated.

This kind of person is easily manipulated, easily used, hence we see the neo-cons have started drawing closer to his campaign, Don Señor, Dick Chaney and others who led this country into two wars and almost financial ruination are back around the Romney campaign.

Can Mitt Romney be trusted with the Nuclear codes ????????????

Romney’s Strategy Is, Tell As Many Lies On Obama As Possible, Then Say, “elect Me I’m Not Him”.

Mitt Romney went to Reno Nevada today and spoke to veterans of Foreign Wars, the group was addressed by the president on July 23rd. Romney addressed the group as he prepared to leave for England, Poland and Israel.

I couldn’t help but chuckle as I watched him strutting around the stage like a wound-up toy, with his signature short, rapid, stiff steps, then listening to his bellicose Foreign Policy speech that was given to him by the neo-cons in his party who are still on the same destructive path they have been on for decades. Their Foreign premised on America’s Military strength and Hegemony. They believe America should go around the around the world toppling governments and installing the interest of the 1%.

Obama obviously thinks what worked for him last time is going to work this time, the mister nice guy demeanor works when you are first seeking the presidency, I’m not sure this will play very well with the electorate this time around. Obama spoke yesterday in Reno without addressing Romney by name, his address before this traditional group was rather tame and lack-luster, not so with Romney.

Mitt Romney was all lathered up, froth spewing from the sides of his mouth, as he struggled to deliver the lie-laden right-wing spiel, his decibel level increased markedly as the veins in his neck bulged out , every line an attack on Obama, with nothing beyond if I’m your president I will or I will not depending on the line.

Obama for his part goes around talking as if he is still a law professor, speaking in vague terms that republicans pick apart and use against him. As I have said before if Obama feels he will win this election coming up in November by being nice he is wrong, if the president is tired or feel he has nothing to prove and as such he is willing to throw this election, he should step aside and allow a Democratic candidate like Hillary Clinton to step up and defend the party and the ideals intelligent people in this country believe in .

Romney’s plan to win the presidency is simple it seem, tell as many lies on Obama as is possible, berate him at campaign stops on those lies, then say I am not Obama, vote for me. Of course Mitt Romney’s only reason for wanting to be president is that he wants to be president.

So far it seem it is working national polls have shown him running neck and neck with Obama, and of course there are more than enough low information and illiterates who will be voting who frankly may realize Romney’s raw ambition for him. They may just make his strategy a viable one.

THEY BELIEVE IT’S REPARATIONS.

Is the opposition to President Barack Obama purely racial?

Why are Republicans vehemently opposed to everything that Obama proposes or try to get done? Is it purely racial politics at play ? Is it that they want a scenario where Obama’s one term, [their stated goal,] would be a colossal failure, which would deter voters from ever trusting the nation to a non-white, ever again ?

Is this issue that simplistic, or is there something else at play here ? Noticeably, every Government program which offers help to society’s most vulnerable are seen as un-American by the right.

They want to gut Social Security, they want to make Medicaid a voucher program, they want to cut the Food Stamp Program drastically. They want to drastically pull the safety net from the dispossessed in their blue-print, the Ryan Budget. The reality is that most economists who have studied the Ryan budget have categorically stated that it does nothing to reduce the deficit , it does nothing to reduce the national debt, conversely it will add substantially to both.

Well of course the Ryan budget will add to the deficit and the debt, it is loaded with give-aways to the very rich who need no help. Essentially the Ryan budget is a doubling down on trickle-down economics which by its content, believes if you give enough to the extremely rich some will fall from their table to the rest of us. Many law-makers are themselves wealthy people who have less and less in common with the communities they serve. In actuality most law-makers do not serve the people who elected them to office, they serve the interest of the corporations who fund their campaigns.

If Republicans are serious about deficit and debt why are they opposed to a restructuring of the Pentagon’s budget ? Does anyone seriously believe that there is not a lot of serious savings that can be derived from a complete restructuring of the Pentagon’s budget? How can anyone seriously argue for more military spending at the expense of feeding the poor?

During the Clinton Presidency Republicans in the Congress pushed for Welfare reform, of course there were very few people who did not feel there needed to be action on welfare as we knew it, a good idea, which had gotten woefully out of hand. That program which was created with the best of intentions had become a way of life for many who decided they were better off receiving welfare than actually getting up and going out to work.

This angered many people and correctly so, I was one of those angry persons, the welfare system was seen as a drain on the country resources, however there was a perception that the system was broken because lazy black people were benefitting from the work of other hard-working Americans. Of course when the final statistics were analyzed, all the T”s crossed and all the I’s dotted, the painful truth became known to many who thought otherwise, the largest beneficiaries were not lazy blacks but middle-aged white women.

THE PLAIN TRUTH IS THAT REPUBLICANS SEE EVERYTHING PRESIDENT OBAMA DOES, AS AN ATTEMPT TO OFFER REPARATIONS TO BLACKS FOR SLAVERY, JIM CROW, AND ALL THE OTHER WRONGS DONE TO THEM IN THIS COUNTRY.

If this is as true as I think it is, does that mean that it is not racial ? I would argue that it is indeed racial, every aspect of Republican politics in this country has a degree of racism. During the primaries Newt Gingrich called the president quote the “food stamp president” despite the fact more people were on food stamps under President Bush despite better economic conditions before the crash. Paul Ryan’s budget is much about decimating programs geared to helping the poor as it is at paying off the rich.

Mitt Romney went before the (NAACP) gave a generic speech then went to his low information friends and disrespected us by saying quote,” if they want free stuff they can vote for the other guy” I was unaware that the desire to have free stuff was a uniquely African-American trait.

These are dog whistles aimed at the most racist dubm-asses within the Republican fringe, those who believe the president is a Muslim, an Arab, a Socialist, a Kenyan, a European Socialist, and everything else they can throw at him hoping something will stick.

The impertinent former Governor of New Hampshire , Cuban-born John Sununu stated that he wishes the president would learn how to be an American. Sununu’s boss Mitt Romney, makes it his business to state that President Obama is somehow foreign at every campaign stop, that the president does not believe in American exceptionalism, whatever that means? This follows in the theme their party has used for the duration of Obama’s term, labelling him “other, not one of us, meaning “them”, the right-wing turds.

Since Big Money Is Free Speech, The Poor Have No Right To Free Speech!

Recent Supreme Court decision Citizens united has brought to the fore what has been a serious problem in American politics for a very long time, the issue of soft money buying influence essentially diluting the concept of one man one vote.

Both Political parties rake in huge sums of money to fund campaigns, it is allowed it is held to be free speech, of course those with deep pockets invariably will get to shout louder, or drown out those with holes in their pockets.

If the giving of money is tantamount to free speech, it leaves your humble blogger to conclude that those who have none to give, really have no freedom of speech.

It is no wonder then, that Rich Industrialists who own large corporations, from oil companies to lumber, and products which Americans use every day, to Casinos, see fit to give huge sums of money to straw candidates to fulfill their agendas, agendas which have nothing to do with the average person.

President Obama  Mitt Romney

Where does this leave the average person? Certainly the average person under this premise have long lost the right to speak! The right to vote then becomes the only way that an informed populace could fight back, informed being the operative word. If the populace is un-informed, ill-informed, or mis-informed because of the barrage of shouting from those with free speech, I mean money… you know what I mean , they are one and the same, Then it behoves those with free speech to shut up the peasants by limiting their right to vote. Am I starting to make sense to you yet?

So then, if the only way an informed populace may be heard without the benefit of immense wealth/free speech, is through the ballot box, why would the vociferous élite allow them this loop-hole through which to be heard?

Is it any wonder then that after Citizens United, the party of the vociferous élite has a launched a scorched earth campaign to suppress the vote in numerous States all over this country?

I have long argued that the strength of this great experiment , the continued dominance of this ever improving exercise, is as a result of the continued infusion of new blood , people of all class, color stripe, religion, sexual orientation, or any other stratifying criteria coming together to make this country what it is.

Like a great River cascading south, made greater and more powerful as it sucks in more streams and tributaries, so too is America made great. Not as some would have you believe, that this country which was built on the blood tears and anguish of African-Americans, Native Americans and others, was made great by only those who came over on Columbus’ Pinta ‚Nina and the Santa Maria , or those who followed on the Mayflower.

The greatness of America is in it’s diversity, its strength is not despite its carnacopia of cultures, races, religions and beliefs, it is exactly as a result of them.

The blindness of many to the devastating effects republican policies will have on them is a direct result of race. Remove Barack Obama from the equation and this would not be a close race between the two parties. The real tragedy for poor whites who vote against their own interest as a result of their ignorant hatred of Obama, is that it will have dire consequences for the entire middle and working class in this country.

Shrouded in Romney and Paul Ryan’s plan for America is a secret agenda which will literally remove for all time the ability of the middle and poorer class to ever have a voice again. The interest of all working people irrespective of color, are inexorably linked, middle class whites vote for republicans who have consistently shown that their agenda is the furtherance of the interest of the filthy rich.

White middle and poorer class people who are recipient of medicare, Medicaid, and social security have aligned themselves to Tea Party causes, some bearing signs caricaturing and demeaning president Obama, demanding he keep his hands of their Medicaid and medicare, at the same time they are denouncing government and all it represents.

Voter suppression on the face of it seem to impact the lives and interest of minorities, the truth is when the votes of minorities are suppressed , republicans will invariably show their true colors, they have no interest in poor whites, as they have shown disdain and revulsion to blacks and Latinos, so too is their disdain for poor whites. The only reason they romance poor whites is for their votes, soon enough poor and middle class whites will realize they are in the same position as the rest of us.

No money equals no free speech that will be true for all poor people irrespective of color.

BLACKS WERE HERE BEFORE ROMNEY AND SUNUNU.

Republicans have long used foreign policy to bash Democrats over the head, type-casting them as timid appeasers who are afraid to use military power to defend America’s interests, and by extension unfit to govern America.

As such, Republicans have arguably used military muscle to demonstrate toughness even when some of their most rabid war-hawks have never served a day in any branch of the military.

The failed attempt at rescuing American hostages held in Iran during the Carter Presidency only exacerbated that misconception. Even though that mishap was not the fault of President Carter, he was blamed for that failure, which literally propelled the Country into 8 years of Reagan rule.

Had the attempt in Pakistan to get Osama Bin Laden gone the way of that débâcle in the Iranian desert, the icing would have been on the cake, not just for the Obama Presidency, but for the chances of Democrats for years to come.

With that said it is fascinating to see a presidential campaign being waged with republicans unable to mention foreign policy with democrats running for the exits. As a matter of fact republicans have thus far made sure not to open up the pandora-box called foreign policy this election cycle, with the exception of Mitt Romney lying in certain parts of the country that president Obama goes around the world apologising for America. Of course Romney only does this in certain red states where he knows this kind of lunacy plays to the hatred some nut-cases have for the president. That lie has been fact checked and there is no evidence president Obama has ever apologised for America.

While we are on the subject , If America has done wrong to someone or a country isn’t an apology in order? Since when apologies are bad things? What does it say about those who see genuine apology as a negative?

The Obama campaign has been hitting Mitt Romney on his assertion that he is qualified to be president because of his time in business, as Paul Begala stated Mitt Romney is a one trick pony who has staked his entire presidential run on the prospect of the economy tanking.

Of course the president’s re-election campaign will not to sit idly by and let Romney lie that his tenure as head of Bain Capital gave him a right to the keys to 1600 Pennsylvania avenue. Irrespective of Anne Romney’s assertion that quote (“it’s our time now , it’s Mitt’s time now”) inferring that the presidency was a monarchy to be passed on to the most entitled.

As Newt Gingrich and others had shown ‚Bain Capital may have made Mitt Romney a very wealth man, kudos to him, but it also presents problems for him as far as the claims he made about being a job creator, and his continued attacks on China and outsourcing. Romney it turns out is a pioneer in the art of outsourcing American jobs as head of Bain Capital.

The Obama campaign have kept up a sustained attack on Romney’s record at Bain, particularly in swing states, over the objections of weak knee Democrats like Corey Booker Newark Mayor, Ed Rendell former Governor of Pennsylvania, and former congressman Harold Ford.

Team Obama not caring about the criticisms from those pontificating democrats have kept up the drum-beat on Bain and it has paid off big time, by itself the inconsistencies about the time Romney left Bain may not be a smoking gun, but when viewed within the prism of his refusal to release more than one year’s tax returns, and what many refer to as his colossal lack of transparency, the Obama campaign is confident they are onto something which disqualifies Mitt Romney from being a viable alternative to their candidate, Barack Obama.

Romney and his campaign has consistently chosen to obfuscate, using the tired old line that the Obama attack and assertions are a distraction , arguing that Obama cannot run on his record, and as a result he is running on distractions.

Whenever they use this line of talking points Democrats do not push back against it, whether it be journalists or surrogates of Obama they let those talking points go unchallenged.

I though killing Bin Laden , restoring over 3 million jobs to the middle class, passing the affordable care act, repealing don’t ask don’t tell, signing the Lilly Ledbetter Act into law, ending the Iraq War, escalating and then drawing down on the Afghanistan war would be a pretty impressive resume on which to run, but I digress, lily liveried Democrats do not think that record warrants a sound defense and a push back against Republican lies.

Romney pushes the narrative that any attempt to vet him for the highest office in the country is a distraction, by that reasoning he wants to be held to a lesser standard than that which Senate Republicans have for President Obama’s nominees to the federal bench. Romney wants to be allowed into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue as a stealth candidate, a Manchurian candidate of sorts.

So he goes around the country frothing at the mouth as he lies about Obama’s record in a rabid deranged lather, yet he offers nothing to the faithful intellectually challenged, who gather to hear his litany of lies .

He has so far released only one year’s tax returns, a strategy that has befuddled even staunch Conservatives like william Kristol of the Weekly Standard and George Will Conservative Icon. Ironically Romney’s father George Romney set the standard for transparency when he released a reported 12 years of tax returns in his failed run for the presidency, the elderly Romney argued that one year’s returns could not possibly be a true representative sample, in essence it could be a fluke.

Obviously Willard Mitt Romney does not subscribe to that part of his father’s doctrine, even though he is always quick to be on his late father’s band-waggon on other issues when it suits him. The truth behind this tax headache for Romney can be found in Romney’s own statements, during the primaries when a debate questioner asked him why not just release his tax returns, Romney stated bluntly, he wants to beat President Obama and he would not release his tax returns to give the Obama campaign weapons to bludgeon him with. He has made that point time and again. In short what that means is that there is damaging and damning material in those tax returns which precludes Romney from releasing them , as such, despite pressure from even those in his own party he is unable to release them for fear of the effects it will have on his chances to take the White House.

Romney and his people knows what’s in those returns and they are determined to ride out this tide, they hope that this will die down soon enough and they will get away with it. Between Swiss bank accounts, investments in Bermuda , and the Cayman Islands the Obama campaign should have a feeding frenzy at this for the next four months.

Right-wink nut cases will lash out with ghastly putrid and rancid racist bile, they will lie they will name-call, and they will spew venomous hatred at Obama, it will not change the facts , what I worry about are the so-called Democrats who side with republicans ‚which the President can well do without.

When the President’s deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter stated that either Romney lied to the FEC on the forms he signed that he was in charge at Bain Capital after 1999, (which is a felony), or he lied to the American people when he said he left the firm in 1999 which would be (a serious question of character), she was exactly correct. Of corse Ed Rendell was the first to criticize Cutter. With friends like Rendell Obama needs no enemies. Rendell is a Clinton loyalist who may still be harbouring grudges that his candidate Hillary Clinton lost the primaries to Barack Obama. It is no surprise that people like Rendell are not a part of Obama’s inner circle.

Republicans do not mince words and they all repeat the same story-line, no matter how much of a lie it is. They are despicable liars, yet the Bookers, Rendell, and Harold Fords are the first appeasers to criticize fellow democrats for doing what they are too scared to do, speak in a clear unequivocal and concise language, as Stephanie Cutter did, which needed no walk-back or apology. What Stephanie said is what all democrats should line up to learn from miss Cutter how to deliver a message without ambiguity.

Barack Obama has taken the foreign policy big stick from republicans, they are seething mad that they cannot beat this president on foreign policy, so they are running on one thing and one thing only, their bet on a bad economy.

It’s no wonder that class-less ideologues like Dick Cheney went to Washington to help Republicans fight against Military cuts that republicans and democrats came to agreement on. As he did as vice president Cheney used lies and distortions to take this country into an illegal and unjust war against the Iraqi people.

First they argued that Saddam Hussein had something to do with 911 , when that lie was debunked by the intelligence community the lying Chaney all but demanded that they distort their own intelligence to suit their narrative and drum-beat for war. In a truly democratic country Dick Cheney would be serving a life sentence for war crimes.

Of course Cheney would not allow the fact that there were no connections between Saddam Hussein and 911, no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, nothing was going to stop the drumbeat for war to satisfy Cheney and the other neo-cons in the Bush Administration hell-bent on hegemony and filling the pockets of companies like Halliburton, Black Water and others associated with , you guessed it Dick Cheney.

Of course Cheney is in Washington DC to rally republicans to oppose cuts to the bloated wasteful bureaucracy called the Pentagon, yet Romney and his republican friends are willing to gut programs which help the most desperate and vulnerable Americans. PS. Republicans and democrats agreed to those cuts.

Paul Ryan’s budget which Romney calls fabulous would gut 3.3 Trillion dollars from programs which aids the poor, like food stamps, meals on wheels and other critical programs that many people depend on for life itself. Republicans do not believe that the poor should live, they have no use for people who are not rich 1 %ers.

One would think that after Cheney jumped the line and received a heart from someone who made a conscious decision to be an organ donor, or their family members had the courage to donate that deceased heart, Cheney would have been a different human being, maybe have some class, less vile and despicable, this is not the case he is still the same hateful disgusting vile creature he has always been.

Of course Mitt (entitled to the presidency) Romney just wants to be president, no one should ask about his tax returns, no one should delve into his tenure as the head of Bain Capital, even though his entire argument why he wants to be president is that he is mister fix-it based on his tenure at the aforementioned Bain Capital.

The venomous hatred we have grown accustomed to coming from the idiot right has spread far and away from the regular morons, and intellectualy constipated regulars like the over-weight ignoramus blow-hard Rush the druggie Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin, Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, the three stooges that make up the so-called FOX and Friends and the others too many to mention.

The blackness of Barack Obama, and his audacity to want to occupy the White House has unleashed an avalanche of hatred that many have never seen in their life time, yet they bury their heads in their hands and pretend that what we see happening are things other than what it they are, vile putrid, rancid, racial politics at it’s worst.

Not to be outdone Mitt Romney has found himself a place on the band-waggon making the president of the United States somehow not an American.

Imagine John Sununu, Romney surrogate, and Bush 41 chief of staff saying he wishes this president would learn how to be an American. The nerve of this guy who was born in Cuba.

Sununu was born in Havana, Cuba, the son of Victoria (née Dada) and John Saleh Sununu, an international film distributor.[1] He is of Palestinian and Greek descent [2]. His father grew up in Jerusalem, Palestine and his mother was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, as part of the mass exodus of Palestinians abroad to seek a better life.{wikipedia}This is the rabid attack Dog that Romney has unleashed against president Obama, an interloper like myself, who was born outside this country , but have the nerve to attack the sitting president, having the nerve temerity and gall to label the president of the United States of America as an outsider!!

Mitt Romney , Michele wild eye Bachman, Palin and all of the despotic ignoramuses on the lunatic fringe seem not to have gotten the memo that the civil war is over and they lost.

One more thing to all you racist vile creatures who feel tha Barack Obama does not belong here, I have news for you, when Christopher Columbus discovered America where people were already living their lives, African-Americans were already here, so chew on that Chaney, Bachman, Limbaugh, Beck ‚Hannity, and all you racist pontificaters. The reason you have so much talk is because of the passivity of the black race.

I will follow-up on this subject.

How Low Will Jamaica Go Before It Fixes The Problems?

Recent display of boorish behavior and what amounts to a tragic race to the bottom by Parliamentarians, once again exposes the need for our country to get on the road to being a country of laws.

It is not unusual to see rude coarse displays on television by some who ought to behave at the highest levels and ought to set the best example because of their perch. This bad behavior is not confined to Jamaica’s house of representatives, but unfortunately has become a staple of other countries the world over.

As we pull our hair out in exasperation and disgust, we worry and are reminded that this new norm represents a departure from a kinder gentler time when people of all stripes respected each other. It is impossible to say whether we will ever return to civility or ever desist as Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller demands, or we must now acclimatize ourselves to these new normals.

South West Saint Catherine Member of Parliament Everald Warmington and North West St. Elizabeth Member of Parliament J.C. Hutchinson are the two offenders named in last week’s blow-up in the House of Representatives. Hutchinson seem like a kid who follows others and gets into trouble ‚with strong corrective measures he can be saved from himself, Warmington on the other hand seem to believe that he is some kinda thug, it seem this guy genuinely believe that he is something special who should have no respect for anyone or anything bigger than himself.

As such Warmington has become the face of what’s wrong with Jamaica’s parliamentary system, and the break-down of decorum which has ensued within that body.

As I have argued before, passing laws and putting rules in place do not solve every problem. God knows, as a Christian I recognize that the good Lord sent his son to die for our sins, the Bible stated the Father knew we could not live by laws, it stated if we broke one we were guilty of all, as such we are now living by God’s grace because he sent his son to die in our place. It does not mean spiritually that we are not responsible for our transgressions, what it means is that we have salvation through Jesus Christ.

Even though we are not bound by ancient Biblical laws we are still required to obey certain rules and guidelines in the way we live our lives. It also follows that even though laws and rules does not solve all our problems we cannot operate without them.

With all of that said I must ask why is it in the year 2012 there are no real punitive remedies in place for those who breach the standing orders or rules which govern the people’s house?

The Prime Minister , well-intentioned though she may be, would be well advised that hugging and kissing may assuage hurt feelings, it may soothe ruffled feathers but it does nothing to restore discipline to the society and certainly not in the highest Legislative body in the nation.

The children are watching, the world is watching , as our country gears up for the revelry that is sure to ensue, all in the name of 50 years of Independence from Britain, many are still suggesting that after all that time Jamaica is now worse off than it was before Britain cut the apron-strings.

The behavior displayed by the two hoodlums in the house of Representatives toward the House Marshall Kevin Williams is symptomatic of what law-enforcement officials have faced daily for decades. The Marshall was reportedly sent by the acting speaker of the House to remove J.C.Hutchinson after his conduct within the chamber was construed to be intolerable, as per the reports, that is when the House Marshall was verbally abused by the two scalawags.

Hutchinson and Warmington are from the Opposition Jamaica labor Party, Lloyd B Smith who gave the order to remove Hutchinson from the chamber, may have been seen to be abusing that position with the issuance of that order, the solution however can never be to abuse the person acting legally to remove him. Hutchinson should have left and then seek remedy if there is any , if none is available as a legislator he should seek to develop legislation to fix that problem, that is what legislators do.

It must also be clear that those two members by themselves could not reasonably be concluded to be in contravention of House Rules or decorum, yet there was no mention of any Government members reprimanded in the process, as such Opposition members followed with a walk-out. Lloyd B Smith himself conceded he had erred in incorrectly applying the standing orders which led to the opposition walk-out.

I had an extensive conversation with a friend who happens to be a senior member of the public sector recently, I told him that the primary function of government is to provide a secure environment for its people. My friend a man who voted for and believe in the allure of the present Government and the party from which it was formed, delved into the complicity of what Government is responsible for. In the process he succeded in tying himself into an intractable knot from which he could not untangle or extricate himself.

His explanations seemed to mirror what I always thought about our country’s leaders, they see their positions and their task so complex that the average person cannot reasonably understand what they do , as such they are duty bound to do everything in their power to stay in power. The fact is, a secure environment does not mean only providing security, say with effective policing, but rather a government which is equipped to provide answers to crime , out-break of diseases, and any other problem that may face the population. That is governance, the private sector is capable of doing it’s part in the process.

If there is no security for farmers from predial larceny, farmers give up on farming, so too if there are outbreaks of crop-desease without remedy. If energy prices are too high it prevents the start-up of new businesses and makes it difficult for existing businesses to survive. If there is no security children cannot go to school out of fear for their lives. We saw that when the Security Forces went into Tivoli Gardens.

Simply put now, as I put it to my friend then, security trumps everything else, no one in leadership seem to understand this and neither does my friend.
