LeBron James is staying in Cleveland.
Just before he got on a float for the Cavaliers’ parade through downtown Cleveland, James told reporters that he has “no plans to go nowhere at this point.”
At. This. Point.
James said that he loves being in Cleveland — his second tour in the city — and will defend the franchise’s first NBA championship next season.
“I love it here. I love being here. I love my teammates,” James told cleveland.com. “Obviously my agent will take care of all the logistical things but, I’m happy. I’ve got no plans to go nowhere at this point.”
Committing to Cleveland doesn’t mean that James won’t opt-out of his contract, of course. He has a one-year, $24 million option for next season but can make north of $30 million if he opts out.
