In an environment where so many of our fellow civil servants are unwell, the Members of the [Jamaica] Medical Doctors Association stand in solidarity with them and hope that a cure can be found quickly to remedy their illness. The doctors are also concerned as to whether illness now being suffered by the Police Officers is contagious.
President of the Jamaica Medical Doctors Association Dr. Alfred Dawes noted: “As doctors we cannot be comfortable with so many of our colleagues falling it. It seems the current conditions are causing illnesses to affect them and we hope that there can be a remedy to these ailments soon”.
The President added that the JMDA is in full support of Civil Servants and stand ready to assist in their capacity as doctors if this illness continues: “Doctors are not immune and anything that affects our colleagues in the Public Sector might soon begin affecting doctors too. We hope this situation does not occur as the country cannot afford Doctors falling ill”.
Dr. Alfred Dawes
