THE REPUBLICAN HATE MACHINE:

The fundamentally most important next step, during and after this presidency of Barack Obama, is that all of us who understand the importance of posterity, meticulously and correctly ‚catalogue and document, every truthful detail ourselves. We must not allow the racist enemies of truth to distort it.

People of all stripes, here and around the world have had a front row seat to what racial bigotry looked like in America, during the last four years and undoubtedly continue to experience it for the new term of our re-elected president.

Republicans did not take over the White House but it wasn’t for want of trying. Many argue that a significant component which contributed to Mitt Romney’s defeat was the declining white vote. I never argue with numbers, in fact I have been making the very same arguments for some time now. I do not however believe that the declining white vote is solely , or even largely responsible for Barack Obama’s schellacking of Romney, not just in the raw vote but a whopping 332 – 206 in the Electoral College.

It doesn’t require a Doctoral thesis to understand the following.

Mitt Romney started out by alienating 47% of the electorate.

Romney was a weak candidate, who lacked message beyond demonizing Obama.

Racial politics are a bad idea in the new America.

Self deportation is a bad idea.

Voter suppression is a bad idea.

Not standing up to vile racist creatures in his party, Romney alienated too many in the middle.

Betting against the economy was counter-productive.

That perfect storm of events may have had significantly more to do with republican defeat than the declining white vote.

Republicans cannot stop the president from getting a second term,so the most certainly will try to tarnish his presidency. So they have latched onto the Benghazi incident with reckless abandon, and they are determined to make something out of it.

John McCain who had some respect from many in this country has determined to squander what small modicum of goodwill he had in the name of partisanship. John McCain who lost the General election 4 years ago to then Senator Barack Obama has been a pesky yet ineffectual thorn in the side of the White House, to many who follow politics, McCain comes off as a sore loser, who continue to look rather stupid.

Recent attempts at pontificating in the media by John McCain , Lindsay Graham ® SC and Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire has shown that these two senators are determined to continue flailing away at the presidency by attacking people within the cabinet who they feel cannot defend themselves.

John McCain whom I would bet no one would accuse of being brilliant, had some choice criticisms of US Ambassador to the UN Dr. Susan Rice. McCain referred to Ms Rice as Quote “not bright”,

Susan Rice:

Rice attended Stanford University, where she received a Truman Scholarship, and graduated with a B.A. in history in 1986. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.[7][8]

Awarded a Rhodes Scholarship, Rice attended New College, Oxford, where she earned a M.Phil. in 1988 and D.Phil. in 1990. The Chatham House-British International Studies Associationhonored her dissertation titled “Commonwealth Initiative in Zimbabwe, 1979 – 1980: Implication for International Peacekeeping” as the UK’s most distinguished in international relations.[2][9] -Rice’s classmates and professors at Oxford included advocates of the role of the United Nations and international law (Sir Adam RobertsBenedict Kingsbury),[10] of global economic governance and international economic coöperation (Ngaire WoodsDonald Markwell),[11] and of a firm stance against Russian authoritarianism (Michael McFaul).[12]wikipedia

John McCain:Formal portrait of white-haired man wearing dark business suit, with American flag in background Lindsay Graham:

McCain followed his father and grandfather, both four-star admirals, into the United States Navy, graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1958. He became a naval aviator, flying ground-attack aircraft from aircraft carriers. During the Vietnam War, he was almost killed in the 1967 USS Forrestal fire. In October 1967, while on a bombing mission over Hanoi, he was shot down, seriously injured, and captured by the North Vietnamese. He was a prisoner of war until 1973. McCain experienced episodes of torture, and refused an out-of-sequence early repatriation offer. His war wounds left him with lifelong physical limitations. He retired from the Navy as a captain in 1981 and moved to Arizona, where he entered politics.wikipedia:

What does Barack Obama, Susan Rice, Eric Holder have in common? you be the judge. John McCain Lindsay Graham are nothing but cowards in attacking an eminently outstanding African-American woman, who have done nothing but offered exemplary service to her country.

Both McCain and Graham are colossal fraudulent hypocrites, who had no problem with another Rice, Condoleezza Rice, a Republican, who told the country that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, in her capacity then as National Security Adviser to Bush 43rd. When she was later nominated for secretary of state, by which point it had become clear that there were no WMD in Iraq, both McCain and Graham publicly defended her appointment despite the misstatements.

Lindsay Graham and John McCain are both publicity hounds, who fear irrelevance after this massive win by Obama, by all means they will say anything to get in the headlines, there is nothing brave or commendable about attacking a woman who has done nothing wrong. McCain has now squandered what little respect he had left if any.

Black Intelligentsia must now stand up and document our history, as American history, in the face of this onslaught of racial bigotry. let me say this for emphasis, Black people, all of us, must take this, our future into our own hands.

We can ill afford to allow our history going forward to be detailed cataloged or narrated by the very people who would prefer if we did not exist. The time for talking is over, we must stand up and shape our own destiny for posterity.

THE BACKLASH AGAINST THE BACKLASH

In 2008 Barack Hussein Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States. This was a momentous occasion when viewed against the racial tumult which had characterized the American existence for over two hundred years.

The country had evolved through slavery, a civil war, reconstruction, Jim Crowe, a prolonged and elongated civil rights struggle which continues to this very day and will continue into the foreseeable future.

Many people thought that Obama’s election to the nation’s highest executive office ushered in a new wave of post racial vibe,

Gone were the days, they thought, when race was not a determinant in how people were judged, but going forward all people would be judged based on the content of their character.

Naïve, idealistic, silly ?Maybe but being a little silly, idealistic, or naïve is sometimes ok. What many Americans and admirers of America, around the world did not bargain for was the backlash from the Republican Right to the election of the first president that was not a white Anglo-Saxon male.

The Republican Party were terrified, white men decided what they saw did not happen, the black family in the White House were not really there, he wasn’t really the president.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, quote; He’s not a real president.

Former Bush 42nd aide and New Hampshire Governor John Sununu , I wish he would learn how to be a real America.

That maddening disbelief created a parallel universe for the right-wing within the grand outdated party, the GOP.

The nation saw the rise of the T‑Party, a group disguised as a genuine grass-roots organization, concerned about deficits, and taxes, but when the thin veneer is peeled away was revealed to be a front group funded by filthy rich Industrialists hell-bent on buying this democracy.

We saw a crass and boorish brand of disrespect directed at the president of the United States, never before seen in the history of this republic, if American history is anything to go by.

We saw a newly minted Supreme Court Justice mouth “not true” while shaking his head to a 100 percent factual statement given by the president at a state of the Union address.

We saw an uncouth, uncultured, impertinent congress-man from South Carolina yell “you lie” at the president in the very same body.

We saw a bigoted border state Governor wag her scraggly grubby fingers in the face of the president on a tarmac in the show me your paper state of Arizona.

We saw an entire Television network dedicated exclusively to distorting facts and demagoguery of the president. These were just a few, never mind the other low-lives, like that reporter from that right-wing website, the daily caller, who interrupted the president in the rose garden while he was still speaking, a 180 degree turn from established protocol.

Every right-wing troll crawled out from under their rock to attack Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Dick Morris, Carl Rove, Sarah Palin, John Sununu, and every narcissistic delinquent who had a voice, made their bigoted fears known.

Last night after the president was re-elected, with frightening accuracy, FOX news commentator Bill O’riely had a come to Jesus moment, he accepted what I have been saying for some time now, of course he added some 1950 ‘s relish.

O’Reilly finally asserted quote: “So white people are now the minority, so Hispanics are going to vote for the president, African-Americans are going to vote for the president, women probably are going to vote for him, there are always going to be people who believe they are entitled to things”

This was a rehash of Romney’s 47 percent tirade, look how well that’s served him, I can’t recall ever hearing of a Mrs Bill O’Reilly , but if she does exist I wonder how entitled she feel right now with such a Neanderthal relic for a spouse?

The danger with the parallel Universe of the Right , caused them to lose sight of reality, that they did not see the colossal defeat staring them in the face. For the last 4 years they told themselves Barack Obama was not the president.

The unemployment numbers were legitimate when they looked bad, they used those to pommel the president, as soon as they started turning around, started to look better, they claimed the Bureau of Labor manipulated the numbers to help Obama.

Never mind that if the president was going to manipulate the unemployment numbers, why not make them 2 percent unemployment, why not go for broke?

When it seemed that job growth was going to be a constant phenomenon under Obama they went to splitting hairs, arguing all kinds of metrics which made the unemployment numbers much more that what the monthly BOL aggregate suggested. There was never any question of the numbers from the right when Bush was bleeding jobs at a rate of 400 thousand per month.

Every metric which favored the president was rubbished; every indicator which showed him in a bad light was canonized. Every moderate republican who even showed an inkling of reverence or deference to the president was run out of the party, Dick Lugar, Olympia Snowe, Charlie Crist, and of late the circular firing squad around Chris Christie.

The poll numbers which indicated the president was leading by a slim margin of 1 – 2 percentage points were all demonized, and every single pollster labeled a tool of the liberal left. The lunatic Right placed themselves in an echo chamber this prevented them from hearing what the rest of the country was hearing, the warning signs were clear, the country was not going to fire the president. Conversely what seemed clear was that their candidate’s six-year double run lifelong lust was about to end in a pile of ashes.

I must say the pile of ashes characterization was my own personal wish for Romney, I deserve this little bit of decadence, I wished and hoped and prayed that the results we had would be the result we have.

The retarded right, missed the entirety of what was happening in the country, they blasted the media for reporting facts and pointing to distortions, they cocooned themselves into the echo chamber of FOX, the media arm that spews the garbage they believe, and right-wing talk-radio, run pretty much by trailer trash red neck ignoramuses, this prevented them from ever breathing or assimilating any real facts. They were however content to breathe the stale putrid air of right-wing Obama derangement, that proved to be their undoing.

Even though defeat was facing them in the face, they had turn-coat, Dick Morris on live television telling them that from his professional analysis, Mitt Romney was going to win in a land slide. They had Carl Rove insisting that Romney would indeed win, even when defeat was imminent, they insisted they had data that showed they were ahead.

After other networks had called the election for te president, FOX the republican flat earth, climate change deniers, insisted they had data showing something no one else was seeing.

When the state of Colorado was called after Ohio was already called for the president, Mitt Romney was not allowed to concede, because somehow, delusional republicans thought what was happening in front of their own eyes, was not happening , or simply had not happened. At that stage even if Romney was given the state of Ohio and every other state yet undeclared he would still have fallen short of the required 270 electoral vote he needed , which would have made him the 45th president of the United States.

So we are at the point where rational people have to ask themselves at this point in our history, “where will the republican party go? There are simply not enough old white guys left to win national elections. The Civil war has been over for a while now ‚yet the republican party seem hell-bent to take the country back, (back, meaning taking it away from the black guy). But back also have a deeper meaning, a deeper back to a period in the 50’s and 60’s when white men ruled everything.

Obama on the other hand, has said simply ” we have come too far and we are not going back” so “Forward”»»»>

On November 6th 2012, hate was repudiated roundly in America, after the prognosticators were done doing what they do, the electorate spoke and spoke it did.

The electorate said, “we want Barack Obama to be our president, we will not allow you to take away our right to vote and we will not allow women to be treated as state property.

There seem to be a sense of tone-deafness on the part of many within that outdated party, staring with the old curmudgeon Mitch McConnell, the senator from Kentucky,.

The voters who now make up the majority of the voting coalition Obama has put together over the last few years, has finally exacted a backlash, against the white backlash, against Obama the black president.

People over money.

A GREAT DAY FOR AMERICA:

Americans sent a strong message today , they will not reward lies, working people in the State of Ohio showed that they would not allow a lying plutocrat to blind their eyes from the truth of a man who has stood with them through thick and thin.

Where is the Waterloo now Jim Demint?

Where is the one term now Mitch McConnell?

The people have spoken, they want Barack Obama to be their President, they have affirmed that they want a divided Government, so Jan Brewer there will be no more pointing in the face of the president. There will be no more you lie. There will be no more of that nonsense the people have spoken.

God bless you mister president.

Romney Will Lose On Novemeber 6th

mittcritisizingbarackWhen Mitt Romney loses the presidential election tomorrow November 6th he will have learned a valuable lesson, I hope. That lesson ought to be :Speak the truth and speak it ever , cost it what it will, he who hides the wrong he did, does the wrong thing still.

A house built of straw will not stand the wind test . A house built on slipping sand will not stand up to the tide. A campaign built on lies will not stand the test of time.

Governor Mitt Romney probably is not a bad person in any significant way, I preface significant because if you are a liar you are indeed a bad person, though not necessarily incorrigible .

I do not know Governor Romney, I have never met him, what I have researched on him shows a man who has led a privileged life, a man who evaded the draft by going to France as a Mormon Missionary, This was convenient to Romney then, as it was for most other sons of privilege during the Vietnam war era. Poor whites and black got drafted into the war effort, the rich and privileged got multiple deferments or went abroad .

Neither of those things made the young Romney a bad person, Romney’s years at Bain Capital , building a company , and making his clients and himself rather rich, did not make Mitt a bad person.

Mitt Romney could have run a campaign against Barack Obama on the issues, he chose not to, Romney made a strategic decision to wage a campaign against Obama based on absolute falsehoods. That makes Mitt Romney a bad person.

On November 6th, Mitt Romney will, despite all the bluster on the right, go down in defeat to the truth. Romney will lose because the 47% will not elect him to disrespect them more. He will lose because Ohioans will not cast their vote for a man who lies to their face , and even when he is called out on it, continues to lie in order to influence their vote.

Romney will lose because in the end as Rick Santorum said, Mitt Romney was the worst candidate that they could nominate to go up against Barack Obama.

The fact is that Willard Mitt Romney was a moderate Republican candidate who was Governor of, arguably the most liberal state in the Union. Romney signed Romney-care into law in Massachusetts, it was and still is a good piece of legislation which came out of the Heritage Foundation ‚a right-wing think tank,.

That bit of legislation has served the people of that state well and they like it. Yet as the Republican Party lurched dangerously to the right , hijacked by the Tea-Party, a shell movement funded by some of the most cynical monied interest deep within the recesses of this country.

Despite being that moderate Governor, Mitt Romney, through raw ambition, totally and comprehensively, reinvented himself into a severe conservative (sic), Romney did not just recreate himself into a conservative candidate, everyone have the right to change, Romney ran to the right of the most conservative slate of candidates possibly in the history of elections in this country.

That slate of candidates included Newt Gingrich, Michelle Bachman and Rick Santorum, these are some of the most strident and uncompromising voices on the far reaches of the republican right. Yet Mitt Romney was able to position himself to the right of them.

Immigration

On Immigration Romney said all people living here illegally should self deport, he argued through an E‑verify system he would cause undocumented people living here to leave because they would be unable to gain employment.

Romney went on to argue that the draconian show me your papers law in Arizona ought to be a template for the nation, he hired the architect of that law as one of his senior advisers.

Romney was not done with immigrants, he vowed to veto the dream act if he was elected president. That sealed his fate with Latinos.

Women’s rights

On women’ issues Romney a man who claim to love his wife, has not supported the Lily Ledbetter Act , the first piece of legislation Barack Obama signed into law.

Mitt Romney a man who claim to love his wife, does not support equal pay for women.

Mitt Romney a man who claim to love his wife , has vowed to put judges on the Supreme Court who will overturn Roe vs Wade, effectively making women criminals for having an abortion, even in the case where she is raped or impregnated incestiously.

Mitt Romney a man who claim to love his wife, has vowed to defund planned parenthood ‚and organization which offers invaluable health care to needy women , far above and beyond abortion.

Mitt Romney a man who claim to love his wife, declined to stand in defense of a young woman, law school student Sandra Fluke, when a retarded bigot regaled her with a vitriolic barrage of abuse and insults, using the public air waves to do so, all because she dared to stand up for what she believed.

Mitt Romney a man who claim to love his wife , did not see it necessary to speak out against candidates for senate and the house who talk about legitimate rape, or those who argue that rape is something God intended.

The rights of all Americans

Mitt Romney has not said a single word against Republican attempts in state after state to suppress the vote, or prevent people from voting, simply because he believes it serves his purpose.

How can Mitt Romney be president of the United States when he will not stand up for the rights of the American people?

How can Romney be president of the United States when he summarily dismisses 47% of the 308 million people as moochers who refuse to take responsibility for their lives?

How would a president Romney protect the rights of Americans when he supports modern-day Bull O’Connor, wannabe tough guy Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpio, and actually sought his endorsement. Arpio has systematically violated the rights of immigrants in the state of Arizona.

Mitt Romney does not support a minimum wage for ordinary working people, he believes that those at the bottom should be left to the devises of the employer to do with them what they chose, if they chose to pay them for their work at all.

I could go on and about the disqualifiers of Romney to the presidency, but I will stop here time does not allow me , I am not writing a book , if you still believe that Romney should be president then go out and vote for him. If however you are a rational sane practitioner , go out and re-elect President Barack Obama as the next president of these United States.

And send Romney a strong message, relegating him to the dust bin of history, make it a message not just to Mitt Romney , but to Charles and David Koch , Sheldon Adelson and other filthy rich oligarchs who believe you are disposable means, towards an end.

Send Romney the lying bastard to one of his many palaces, and hopefully we will never hear the name Romney again.

WIN OR LOSE OBAMA HAS BEEN GREAT, SORRY TOM BROKAW:

On the night Barack Obama was being inaugurated 44th President of the United States a devious and cynical cabal of right-wing Republicans met in secret to formalize a strategy that sought to destroy the presidency of Barack Obama even before it began.

Robert Draper’s much-discussed and heavily-reported new book, “Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives.“According to Draper, the guest list that night (which was just over 15 people in total) included Republican Reps. Eric Cantor (Va.), Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), Paul Ryan (Wis.), Pete Sessions (Texas), Jeb Hensarling (Texas), Pete Hoekstra (Mich.) and Dan Lungren (Calif.), along with Republican Sens. Jim DeMint (S.C.), Jon Kyl (Ariz.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), John Ensign (Nev.) and Bob Corker (Tenn.). The non-lawmakers present included Newt Gingrich, several years removed from his presidential campaign, and Frank Luntz, the long-time Republican wordsmith. Notably absent were Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R‑Ky.) and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R‑Ohio) — who, Draper writes, had an acrimonious relationship with Luntz. For several hours in the Caucus Room (a high-end D.C. establishment), the book says they plotted out ways to not just win back political power, but to also put the brakes on Obama’s legislative platform.http://www.huffingtonpost.com

Now in the closing moments of the Presidential Elections Mitt Romney’s closing argument is that President Obama has not delivered on his promises.

Romney/Ryan:

So the plan was to gum up the works so badly that Obama would have zero legislative accomplishment, win the mid-term elections of 2010 , continue and win the White House in 2012. This plan has worked to a fault.

Republicans who worked in the Senate with Vice President Joe Biden for decades, told him “Sorry Joe we cannot help you because of this guy”, this guy being the black guy, the president of the United States.

Mitch McConnell/Newt Gingrich:

Mitch McConnell and Newt Gingrich we understand these two are direct relic of the old South, for them the Civil war is still raging, they believe the South will rise again. Can you imagine what it must feel like to be Newt Gingrich or Mitch McConnell? I sometimes feel ‚McConnell’s face will simply explode, just look at him, it has got to be horrible to have to bottle up all of that racial hatred. Can you imagine what it must feel like for these to relics to see a black family in the White House?

It’s instructive that they have executed this policy ‚then they go out and accuse the president of not being able to work with republicans.

Eric Cantor/John Boehner

Barack Obama could have rammed through the Affordable Care Act, he had the House and the Senate, he tried to get Republicans to work on the Health Care Bill, they pulled their hands away , they refused even to agree on procedural measures relating to the Bill as such he passed the Bill without them.

The same is true on Immigration, on issue after issue they have run away from positions they proposed or supported. The standard-bearer of their party is the architect of the Affordable Care Act, yet if you listen to him you would believe that the Affordable Care Act was incubated in the halls of the Kremlin or the Legislative Yuan, and not the ultra right-wing Heritage Foundation.

President Obama worked on a grand bargain with Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner of Ohio, yet at the last-minute Boehner turned his back on what he had just agreed, after he learned that the Tea Party elements within his Caucus would not agree to any deal with the president.

That made it painfully obvious to everyone that it was not about policy it was about race. These ideological and racial zealots, would not agree to a 1 – 10 deal which would have seen one part revenue for the president and nine part cuts for the Republicans. That means the President was will to work with getting 10% of what he wanted and giving them 90% of what they wanted.

Like Lucy in the Peanuts cartoon they pulled the ball away at the last moment. Even if they had agreed to the grand bargain the president would have given in to a conservative agenda, a move which angered a lot within the president’s own base, it wasn’t enough for Republicans , they wanted no part of any deal with him.

Obama came to office promising to extend a hand to everyone, if they would un clinch their fist , he has done so. The President of the United States of America has done immense good under trying circumstances, in the face of absolute obstructionism from those who would have you believe they are patriots. What they have revealed themselves to be are tools of the very rich, all of them.

The tragedy for the rest of the country is the ability of Republicans to convince so many, to vote against their own self-interest.

ON NOVEMBER 6TH. DO NOT EMPOWER LIARS AND RACISTS:

What do we look for in our elected leaders? Are political leaders role models? Are our children supposed to read about our Presidents, Senators, Congress-persons and other leaders with awe and aspiration?

I say you betcha (sic) our children not only look to these leaders with admiration and awe but they look to people less deserving, sports and rap stars, actors , their own peers ‚whatever, why would we expect that our elected political leaders are not viewed in the same light by our kids? Are we content with the air brushing of history? Is it honesty when we make history, his story, rather than the real story? Or are we prepared to heap praise on those who were less than decent because it suits the narrative we want to advance for posterity?

Which brings me to the upcoming elections, many people ‚Republicans and Democrats will tell you frankly that most if not all politicians stretches the truth. In fact politicians with the best character will evade rather than tell the truth and suffer the consequences. It is just not good politics to always be truthful in that line of work.

So electorates in democracies have baked that knowledge into how they view political aspirants, what that means is that they know that all politicians will stretch and or evade the truth, so they cut them some slack to a certain degree. Electorates will also cut political aspirants some slack when they do not outright condemn supporters who say and or do silly things, they understand how critical each and every supporter or group of supporters are, if the aspirant is to be elected.

Some Politicians have strategically denounced certain supporters when it serves their interest, they calculate it gives them broader appeal or legitimacy to a larger audience, or a larger pool of voters.

Bill Clinton had his Sister moment.

The term originated in the 1992 presidential candidacy of Bill Clinton. In a Washington Post interview published on May 13, 1992, the hip-hop MC, author, and political activist Sister Souljah was quoted as saying, “If Black people kill Black people every day, why not have a week and kill white people?”[3] The remark was part of a longer response to the 1992 Los Angeles riots. The quotation resulted in criticism. In June 1992, Clinton responded both to that quotation and to something Souljah had said in the music video of her song “The Final Solution: Slavery’s back in Effect” (“If there are any good white people, I haven’t met them”)[4] while giving a speech to Jesse Jackson Sr.‘s Rainbow Coalition, saying, “If you took the words ‘white’ and ‘black,’ and you reversed them, you might think David Duke was giving that speech.”(Wikipedia).

As a candidate for the Republican nomination for president in 2000, Texas Governor George W. Bush spoke before the conservative Manhattan Institute in October 1999 saying, “Too often, on social issues, my party has painted an image of America slouching toward Gomorrah,” quoting the title of a book by conservative jurist Robert Bork. Bush’s comments were seen as a repudiation of the religious right and an attempt to appeal to moderate voters; commentator Charles Krauthammer called it “an ever-so-subtle Sister Souljah on Robert Bork.”(Wikipedia).

Also in the 2000 campaign for the Republican nomination, Arizona Senator John McCain stated, “Neither party should be defined by pandering to the outer reaches of American politics and the agents of intolerance, whether they be Louis Farrakhan or Al Sharpton on the left or Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell on the right.” This was similarly seen as a repudiation of the religious right; columnist Jacob Weisberg called it “a pungent Sister Souljah moment.”

During the 2008 United States presidential campaign, Democratic Party nominee Barack Obama received much criticism for his association with his longtime Pastor Jeremiah Wright, and Wright’s pattern of provocative statements. On April 29, Senator Obama distanced himself, in a well-received speech on racism, calling some of Wright’s statements “outrageous” and “a bunch of rants that aren’t grounded in truth.”[6][7] South Carolina Congressman James Clyburn said of the speech, “This, I think, offers Barack Obama his Sister Souljah moment”;[7] the speech was also described as “more than a Sister Souljah moment” by columnist Maureen Dowd.[8]

On July 10, 2008, prior to a taping of Fox and Friends, civil-rights activist Jesse Jackson was unwittingly caught by an open microphone whispering to a fellow interviewee, saying that then-candidate Barack Obama was talking down to black people and that he, Jackson, wanted to cut Obama’s “nuts off”.[9] Jackson’s son, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. of Illinois — co-chair of Obama’s presidential campaign — publicly blasted his father’s comments. Dan Balz called the comments “accidental Sister Souljah moment” for Obama, since Jackson had distanced himself from the candidate, without Obama having to take a stand.[10](Wikipedia)

Romney/Ryan

Not only had John McCain spoken out against the most strident in both parties as he saw them, he also corrected a woman at one of his campaign events during the 2008 campaign who accused then candidate Barack Obama of being an Arab, a Muslim and God knows what else.http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llef8ZRTWQo&feature=related.

These are just some of the instances I referenced, political expediency or character, you be the judge. With all that I have said it brings us to the present Republican Candidate for President Mitt Romney . I have written a lot of blogs criticizing this guy, the truth is I don’t like him , that much is obvious.

I have a tremendous dislike for Romney not because he is Republican, I like Chuck Hagel, I like Colin Powell, I like Steve Schmidt. I don’t dislike Romney because of his race, many of our friends are white , and are tremendously decent and nice people. I do not dislike Romney because he is running against the first black President, Barack Obama.

I have a tremendous dislike for Mitt Romney because he is a pathological liar. I was raised to always tell the truth, I have suffered because of liars. That makes me very intolerant of liars.

How does the American public reconcile tolerating a potential president who lies the way Romney does, are the American people willing to trust this great experiment to a man who straight-faced lies about everything he does? Without the pathological mendacity, Mitt Romney is already and still is a dangerously flawed candidate, he has said he doesn’t care about the poor, most Americans are middle class or poor. He said 47% of the American people are moochers who refuses to take responsibility for their lives, these are the very people he is now asking to elect him so he can carry out the wishes of the 1%.

Are the American voters willing to elect Mitt Romney and allow him to destroy the country then seek to resuscitate his image for posterity? I am dumbstruck at the mentality of voters, what does it say about the moral compass of a people who from poll to poll intimate through their support for Romney, that they are willing to cast their vote for a man whose campaign mantra is “We will not allow fact-checkers to decide the direction of our campaign”.

If Mitt Romney is elected what kind of president does the American people expect him to be? Does anyone expect him to be a leader who govern with truth, integrity, honor,or dignity, or will he simply be another Richard Nixon? Why would electors who cast their votes for a pathological liar expect a president who will honor their sacred trust? Doesn’t truth matter? I say it does, we get the Government we deserve, we get the Government that represents who we are.

If we are bigoted ignorant racists we will pretend that Barack Obama is a bad President, we will pretend that the deficit and partisanship is his fault. We will act as though the ills that plague America are of his making, after all he’s black how could it not be his fault? You see the election of Obama did not show America to have graduated from hundreds of years of racial animus, an animus that has eaten away at the inner core of American society throughout her history.

The elevation of Obama instead, revealed the deep ignorant hatred, which exist in people generations removed, from their ancestral purveyors of the most vile type of racial bigotry, but who themselves still harbor the same unintelligent stereotypical bigoted animosity.

In many counties in many States despite the outpouring of love and admiration for Obama in 2008 , he barely received above single digits of the white vote, remembering of course that he should at least have won the white vote in his own party. Those single digit votes in those parts of this country , means that Democrats voted for John Mc Cain or elected not to vote at all, rather than vote for a black candidate.

Many would rather see their country fail rather than be saved by a black man, they have said so. Many would rather see Osama Bin Laden alive that know he was taken out by Barack Obama, the very president they label a Muslim an Arab and a terrorist sympathizer.

Led of course by the genius(sic) former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the most ignorant of ignoramuses.

On the question of Muslim or Arab, labels they use to deride Barack Obama, neither of which he is, it is instructive that the very Constitution they claim to love, the Bible of their very American existence, lays out two simple steps for someone to be President of this beautiful land.

(1) The person must be native-born American.

(2) The person must have reached the age of thirty-five years old (35).

If the Constitution is as important to them as they say it is, if the words are sacrosanct as they claim they are, how then can they deny a Muslim or Arab the Presidency, which the very same Constitution clearly does not?

And if they are willing to label an honest decent and upright man, Arabic and Muslim , which he clearly isn’t, does it not make sense that they will elect a soul-less liar who has categorically lied without fear, of consequence? Where there is no vision the people perish, in their blind hatred the people demanded that Pontius Pilate release the murdering thief Barabas to them and crucify the just and decent Jesus Christ, Barack Obama is not Jesus Christ , neither is he Barabas, but as it was then, so is it today. Hatred is palpable, it is contagious, it is dangerous, they killed Jesus based on a campaign of lies , false accusations and defamation, they could not kill him without building a case of lies, he was sinless. Both Herod king of the Jews and Pilate the Roman Governor wanted no part of the charade, but the hateful throng would not have it any other way, they would not allow truth to change their mendacious blood-lust.

Barack Obama is a decent man, one does not have to agree with his politics, it’s ok to disagree, his record is there for all to see, it is one of service, always looking to change the lives of his fellow-man for the better, they cannot justifiably vote him out of office based on his record, so they have to change his record, and that’s what Mitt Romney set out to do.

Mitt Romney did not stop running for president in 2008 after he endorsed John Mc Cain, he wrote a book titled “no apology ‚the case for American greatness” , he went around the country trying to get republican candidates elected to office, in effect it was just a continuation of his failed run and a pre cursor to his present run. That run began with lies and distortions, on Tuesday November 6th we hope it will end in ashes , a footnote in the annals of history, a testament that in the end mendacity will never be rewarded with ultimate power.

Mitt Romney decided he would run a campaign of lies, he knew he would have to build a case against Obama, he realized he could not do so against Obama the man, he would have to prove that. He calculated that for the racists and the truth deniers and there are many, he could turn positives into negatives, that is what he has done , on the Auto bailout, on the stimulus, on Obama-care, on the killing of Osama Bin Laden. On issue after issue Romney has twisted the facts, supported and helped by a huge cadre of neo conservative hate mongers. Pair that with illiterate, hateful, and uninformed people and it’s clear to comprehend why this election is close.

There is still time for voters to take another look at Romney and not be fooled , voters have a chance yet , not to fall for the sales pitch of a slick snake oil salesman who will do anything for power under the guise of family and religion, while wrapped in the flag.

On Wednesday November 7th, the entire world will see what America did on the 6th, the decision of voters will tell them whether America is serious about turning the corner , or whether she had voted for a black man once, simply to ease her burdened conscience.

Go out and exercise your right to vote , Republicans want to take it away from you, because it is the single most powerful tool you and you and you and you have to determine your destiny, it is yours not theirs.

When you do not vote you empower them to further abuse you, take advantage of your right, many in the republican party, particularly white men believe your right to vote is a privilege, it isn’t , it becomes a privilege if you make it so.

Excercise your right, boot them all from office.

QUESTION FOR AMERICA:

What would you do if you were about to, or just lost your home , business, possibly your job. What if your country was fighting two unfunded wars, one a war of choice, the economy was on the verge of collapse, and everything about your life the way you have come to know it seemed to be a thing of the past. Then someone showed up and reversed all of that ‚effectively turning all of those negatives and a plethora of others into positives. Not dramatically but slowly and methodically?

Let me put it another way:

You are driving along the road when your car is blind-sided by a drunk driver, your car is knocked off the road and is dangling precipitously on a ledge. The drunk driver who hit you have been driving drunk for a while, he had done considerable damage as a drunk driver previously, but was never held to account for his actions. However along comes the first responders, they begin the meticulous task of methodically securing your precipitously perched car , with you dangling upside down on the inside, they secure your car before beginning the arduous task of pulling you back from harm’s way. They have to be careful not to do anything rash, which would lead to catastrophic consequences, so they set to work painstakingly pulling your car up from what for you, otherwise would be sudden and imminent death.

But the drunk-driver saunters over and begins a tirade of attack against the first responders who are working to pull you to safety, demanding instead that he be given the task of pulling you back from the brink, he runs around in his delusional drunken stupor , berating the guys pulling you out, for not doing the job quickly enough, while taking swigs from the half empty bottle of liquor clutched in his bloody grip.

You still do not understand ? Well what do you know ‚you are indeed the reason this election is close, you are uninformed, vulnerable and the reason Mitt Romney is running neck and neck with the president and potentially could win this election.

Many brilliant and superbly educated people argue that the American people are really smart in choosing their leaders. Disagreeing with them is a little above my pay grade, but if some elected officials are anything to go by, I humbly beg to differ.

I saw a poll of people living in other countries and their preference for who they would like to see as president of the United States, Barack Obama won by wide margins except in Pakistan. I imagine that they are still smarting from Obama taking out Osama Bin Laden in their country without first consulting them. Of course I can well imagine what the pompous right who believe that the United States is the world would say to that little unimportant poll, who really cares what the rest of the world think we are the Americans , we are exceptional, no one else matters.

The fact of the matter is that all inhabitants of this planet are interconnected, we depend on each other for survival, and whether the pompous blowhards on the right like it or not, the world’s perception of the American President is significant as it relates to war and peace.

So the American people must ask themselves these questions.

Do I believe in voter suppression?

Do I believe in Racism?

Do I believe in racist robo calls?

D0 I believe in birthetrism?

Do I believe in a candidate who ran a campaign based on total lies?

Do I want a candidate of Mitt Romney’s caliber to be the President of the United States?

Do I want a president who has no value set?

Do I want a president who stands for nothing, a president who is unable to stand against the most despicable racist demagogues in his own party?

Do I want a president who aligns himself with those who train people to disrupt voting under the pretext of protecting the integrity of the vote?

Do I want a president whose campaign is training 34 Thousand so-called poll watchers (Project Orca) with the view to disrupting the polls.

http://dustinstockton.com/2012/10/what-is-project-orca/

I have opined repeatedly that in all my years on this planet I have never seen a candidate for president of the caliber of Mitt Romney. This guy has zero character , in actuality he is the lowest and the worst candidate imaginable that could be fielded for the presidency on behalf of the Republican Party.

Neo-con nut case and former republican candidate for president Rick Santorum, famously stated that Romney was the absolute worst candidate their party could put up against Barack Obama. Context is important but Santorum’s words should be a warning to each and every voter who enters a voting booth this election. Mitt Romney is a rapacious plutocrat driven by raw greed and ambition, he is motivated by money and is available to the highest bidder, in the great scheme of things, this guy is dangerous and should not be allowed anywhere near presidential power.

America which saw itself facing economic collapse a mere three years ago, will have a long time to think of the consequence of voting for this mindless Trojan Horse.

Michael Bloomberg endorses Obama:

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg who has said that Obama is arrogant, has now jumped on the Obama band-wagon throwing his support to the president. I’m unsure whether this has any value to the president, who was going to win at least 4 of the 5 boroughs of new York City anyway, not sure of Staten Island. Bloomberg obviously see the writing on the wall and now wants to get on board. Ever the tactician he sees some benefit in endorsing the president at this time , this despite what he writes in the Wall Street Journal, is about Michael Bloomberg rather that about the president or the American people.

Ever the cynic I must ask. ” Was the effusive and lavish praise Chris Christie bestowed on the president purely from the heart, or has Christie seen the writing on the wall, is Christie looking past the November 6th election and a second Obama term to an open field and a possible Chris Christie Candidacy, Romney be damned ?

Just asking !

HORSES AND BAYONETS.

I was really mad at our President about his performance in the first debate , I felt a little better by the time the second debate rolled around, but I gotta tell you I am feeling mighty good at the way the president conducted himself in debate number three.

I opined after the first debate that if President Obama lost the election of 2012 , he need look no further than the first debate. Conversely if Mitt Romney loses the election he need look no further than the third debate, In fact Mitt Romney must forever hate Horses and bayonets. Not sure if he will use the bayonet on wife Anne’s show horse.

Mitt Romney obviously does not read the briefing papers his staff presents him, in fact if the debates were anything to go by Mitt Romney seemed to memorize a series of subjects and talking points in preparation for the debates( we called that cramming in school). The problem with that approach is that it leads to problems. Romney seemed in a hurry to say everything on his mind , seemingly intent to get rid of everything he crammed before he forgets to say them. The result is sometimes a series of incoherent babble that spills from his mouth with tremendous alacrity, and to some degree this tends to get Romney in trouble.

So in the third debate we heard buzz-words like Mali, The Navy, Terrorists, a Nuclear Iran. In fact that pretty much dominated the entirety of the third debate. Mitt Romney was so intent to argue for more ships that he completely neglected to see the potential land-mine he was stepping onto.

Romney stridently argued that he will build a grand total of 16 ships per year, to make up for what he says is the Navy’s lack of numerical strength. Romney argues that for the first time the Navy has less ships than it did in 1916.

Obama responded: “You mention the Navy, for example, and the fact that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916. Well, governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets. We have these things called aircraft carriers and planes land on them. We have ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines.” He added, “It’s not a game of Battleship where we’re counting ships, it’s ‘What are our priorities?’”

That response not only reinstated Barack Obama as the candidate for America, in this time, this moment but it showed Mitt Romney as a superficial Candidate who crams with talking points but lacks a general understanding of how Government really works. That moment revealed to the world that Mitt Romney was not ready for prime time.

That zinger may have sunk Romney’s battle ship.

Congratulations to you Secretary Powell, for standing for what you believe in, I salute you for standing for principle and dedication to country. Thank you Colin Powell for endorsing president Obama for a second term.

Former chairman of the Joint Chiefts of Staff, and Secretary of State Colin Powell .

I will not comment on John Sununu’s comment regarding this endorsment.

THUG ROMNEYS:

I really can’t wait for this election to be over , one way or the other, there is just too much at stake, not just for America but for our planet in this presidential election. My first observation today, is regarding a comment made by one of Mitt Romney’s son, I think this moron’s name is Tagg. No I did not mean Mormon, I really meant moron.

Tagg Romney was responding to a question on a North Carolina Radio Station.

Q : How does it feel to hear the president call your dad dishonest during Tuesday’s debate.?

A: “Jump out of your seat and you want to rush down to the stage and take a swing at him,” he laughingly said, though he quickly admitted that wouldn’t happen, since such remarks are “the nature of the process.” Also, he says, there’s that matter of getting through the Secret Service.“They’re gonna try to do everything they can do to try to make my dad into someone he’s not,” continued Tagg. “We signed up for it, we’ve gotta try to kind of sit there and take our punches, and then send them right back the other way.“http://www.newser.com

Every Television and other media outlet has sought to trivialize this as nothing serious, so let me just focus you for a mere couple of seconds. Mitt Romney is president of the United States, Barack Obama is the challenger for the presidency, Barack Obama has a son who was asked the same question and he responds the same way what do you think would be the reaction nationwide?

Perish that thought, change the black Barack Obama son, he would have already been locked up awaiting trial for making terrorist threats against the president of the United States.

Now replace that son with the two sweet little Obama girls, Sasha and Malia and there would still be hell to pay, you would not have known that what the fuss was about, was a statement from a teenage girl. America will have to ask itself if this is the way it wants itself to be portrayed across the world. America’s population is roughly 308 million people with a minority some estimates suggest now make up over 50% percent of that population.

The fact of the matter is that we live in an ever shrinking world, will America continue to embrace a path, to which to some degree, it still hangs its head in shame? Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan and the Republican Party is literally the most Conservative in many decades. What is America doing, who is being fooled here? The entire 8 years of the last Republican Administration was premised on two pillars.

(1) Spreading Democracy abroad.

(2) Compassionate Conservatism.

Did any of you see any of that happen under Bush? was Dick Cheney a compassionate conservative, did they spread democracy , or did they create all kinds of enemies for the country? Isn’t it ironic that the very same party now wants to be returned to power a mere 4 years later , with war on the front burner, and the same economic agenda? Really how stupid do they think you are ? Or are you really stupid? After all this race is really close, why is this so in light of the facts?

Why is Mitt Romney afraid to show up on the view to answer questions from a group of sharp-tongued women, but sends his wife , who in turn gets snippy with Joy Behar when she dared to ask her questions on issues which she has been a vibrant surrogate for her husband.

Quote: I’m not running for office and I don’t have to say what I feel. But I am pro-life.http://abcnews.go.com

The nerve of these plutocrats:

The Romney family believes in their heart of hearts, spurred on by their filthy rich friends, of the Oligarchy, who make up the one percent, that they are entitled to the presidency. By their actions, and deeds, they have demonstrably shown, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they feel above being questioned about anything, how dare anyone ask Romney about his tax plan? How dare pesky Journalists expect Paul Ryan to bother to explain his own plan? Never mind that Ryan is the Chairman of the House Budget Committee. Don’t they know it’s Mitt’s time now ?( ala his wife’s comments)

In fact why would Tagg Romney not feel obliged to defend the honor of his pathologically lying father? Mitt Romney was overtly disrespectfully to the president during the two debates, but more so during the second debate when he was challenged repeatedly not just by the president of the United States but by Candy Crowley a respected Journalist. Romney told the president quote “you will get your turn, I’m speaking now ” it wasn’t just what he said but the way he said it. “He invaded the President’s space , badgered and interrupted , talked over the president repeatedly, until the president said quote “well I never”.

It wasn’t until he ventured into the Benghazi issue and the President knocked him down to size, and he saw the black side of Obama that he got up rather wobbly ‚and ended up putting his foot further up his lying mouth and was fact checked by Candy Crowley that the president delivered the coup de grâce .

Like father like son, they are elitist who do not believe they should be challenged, they do not respect the president. Like a true bully Mitt Romney is also a coward, he was clearly shaken when the president stepped to him on the Benghazi issue. One thing is assured however, neither Mitt Romney nor any of his punk a** sons would ever step to a black man in the streets. They are punks who understand that the president cannot and will not go gangsta up on their stupid ass, so they chose to pontificate. I say to Tagg Romney, be a man , you are what 42 years old? Leave the cocoon of your feathered nest and say what you said to that radio host to any black man you meet on the streets, I beg you>

The deafening silence in the lame stream media is disgustingly shameful, I am ashamed not for them , but for this concep called democracy. What we are witnessing in this country , this election cycle is the most vile, despicable and rancid display by white men who for the first time in 4 hundred years, are witnessing their ivory towers collapsing around them.

Mitt Romney is on tape telling rich CEO’s to tell ordinary Americans in their employ how to vote. This is the most craven, rapacious and sorry display by a presidential candidate,Romney has revealed himself ‚throughout this campaign cycle to be an immoral ‚despicable charlatan, who is blinded by raw greed and unbridled lustful ambition. This guy has all of the characteristics of a dangerous egomaniacal narcissist. The very existence of our planet is at stake if this guy is allowed near the nuclear codes.

The thuggery that we have seen from this buffoon Mitt Romney and more recently from his son, are unfortunately not confined to them, the level of disrespect heaped onto this president is parallel only to what Jackie Robinson endured as the first black man to play major league baseball. Now look at baseball, American black men don’t even want to play that game anymore, been there done that.

The very foundational principle which these charlatans preach that the constitution espouses, are the same principles which allowed Barack Obama to become the nation’s first black President, the principles of one man one vote, the principles which says if you work hard and play by the rules you can be anything you want to be. They are the same principles they now want to discard.

They are threatened, white male domination is threatened and they are afraid of their shadows, they hate this president, in him they see what they would like to be but failed even though they have a playing field slanted in their favor. Mitt Romney is no exception. Barack Obama represents to them the beginning of the end of white male supremacy , not just in America but on planet earth, this makes them mad, and like wounded animals they cannot control their anger and angst.

What else would influence a recent appointee to the Supreme Court to shake his head and mouth the words“not true” when the president blasted the citizens united decision by the Supreme Court, as Samuel Alito did?

Samuel Alito Assc. Supreme Court Justice.

What would influence Joe Wilson ‚Republican Congressman from South Carolina , to shout “you lie” as the president delivered the state of the Union address?

Joe Wilson ® South Carolina.

What would cause classless bigot, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to point her fingers into the face of the President of the United States?

What would cause John Sununu, Newt Gingrich, Donald Trump, Ted Nugent, Glen Beck , Sean Hannity and the never-ending list of punks, who challenge the president ‚the way they would never dare challenge any other black man anywhere?

You see, there a certain type of black men who make white men look good, it’s not that they like them , they tolerate them, they use them until they have outlived their usefulness. Ask Colin Powell about his stint in the Bush Administration. Ask Secretary Powell how he felt after they used him to lie to the world about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and the lies of mobile chemical labs. Ask Michael Steele how he felt after they had used him to push their agenda against the very first black President, ask him what they did to him afterwards.

Ask Clarence Thomas why they love him? I’ll tell you, because he furthers their agenda the way no other black in America can. Given the right circumstances, they would put him back onto the plantation. The black men who say yes massa, to them are quite acceptable, why not? They are neutralized, they are self hating emasculated shells, who are happy for the white master to pat them on the head.

The moronic ignorance which permeates certain strata of the republican base, is not true of Mitt or his son Tagg Romney. Romney is not a fool, he is a shrewd businessman who understands what it takes to get what he wants. Romney’s quest for the presidency is a business proposition, it always was, that is the reason why as soon as he lost to John Mc Cain he reinvented himself and kept running. It’s a business strategy. Romney’s quest for the presidency is not bourne out of any deep conviction or desire to serve, if Romney wanted to serve he wouldn’t have ducked Vietnam and went to France as a mormon Missionary.

Romney’s craven desire for the presidency is solely to further enrich himself and other plutocrats like Sheldon Adelson, David and Charles Koch, The orange haired buffoon Donald Trump and others. why do you think all of the once forgotten fat cat billionaire has started creeping out of the wood-work to support Romney? Even the inconsequential Ross Perot is now back out from obvlion to support their favourite son Mitt Romney. Is it because Obama is a European Socialist as they say he is? Or is it because they feel threatened by this one black guy, who in some ways have shown a sliver of disdain to their mantra of “we did build that”

Don’t be fooled by Romney’s reluctance to tell you about his secret plan for America, it’s not a ruse, he doesn’t have one. he will wreck this economy, only worse than what Bush did, he will start world war 3 and create a misery index the likes of which have never been seen before.

I’ll conclude this blog by pointing to something I learned as I was writing this blog, that is that mister big-shot Tagg Romney just fathered twins through a surrogate mother, on the documentation is a clause which allows the mother who carried those kids, the right to have an abortion in the event her life is threatened. So the powerful oligarchy at the center of which sits the Romneys ‚believe the rights and privileges that they have should not be extended to you.

WELCOME BACK MISTER PRESIDENT:

Tonight in Long Island New York on the Campus of Hofstra University the world saw the second of three debates between the presidential candidates for the American presidency.

At stake was the direction the free world will take for the next 4 years, like all well thinking people who do not have their heads up their A** I was spitting mad at President Obama for what I thought was a lack-luster first debate performance in Denver Colorado. True to form as we have been taught there is no pain time cannot heal, as the days have progressed, I am still pissed at the president for his performance, but I am no longer mad at him because he did badly in terms of his tone. I am mad at him because he allowed snake-oil salesman Mitt Romney to continue on the path of pathological mendacity. The polls have tightened markedly and significantly since that debate, many believe those people who broke for Romney were independents who were somehow convinced that all of a sudden Mitt Romney is a credible alternative to Barack Obama. I disagree with the conventional wisdom and the talking-heads. Those were white republicans looking to Romney to stand up to the black guy, put him in his place, bloody his nose, if you will. But I am curious to know this, why is this election close? There is never a mention by Republicans as to what caused the great Recession in the first place, one would think that it fell out of the sky! The fact of the matter is that it was trickle down economics. It never worked and it never will.

So again I ask why is this election close? Obama took over an economy that was hemorrhaging 4 hundred thousand jobs each month even before the president took office. No one fully understood the severity of the situation until Obama got into office and the full extent of the damage was assessed. Bush passed a stimulus plan before his second term expired , President Obama also requested money for a second stimulus, that was passed. Republicans had no choice but to support the second stimulus, they had just supported the previous one requested by Bush. Even as the second stimulus was being passed Republicans were betting and plotting against the presidency of Barack Obama.

Throughout the first term of Obama Tea Party affiliated Republicans in the House and Senate have used Obstructionist tactics to stymie and derail the President’s Agenda. In the Senate there have been record numbers of filibusters , requiring 60 votes on the most mundane Bills . This was a direct affront to the voters who had chosen this president and party to lead after 8 years of trickle down economics. An unfettered Wall Street Banking system that was without regulations. Record Government spending. Unfunded wars. America’s image in tatters. Torture and economic collapse.

The Republican party’s behavior has been as atrocious as Romney behavior, in continuing to run for president, even before the new president was even sworn into office. What Romney and his Republican cronies said by their actions, was that they did not respect the will of the American electorate. Since Obama took Office there has been a significant multi-pronged approach toward legitimization the new president. It took the form of Racial Caricatures, The birther movement, aimed at casting doubt on his right and legitimacy to be president. A unified front aimed at opposing everything the president proposes, even when they supported those ideas to begin with, even when the ideas come out of the Ultra Right Wing Heritage foundation. They have also used Voter suppression. The purging of voters lists. Voter intimidation, and other undemocratic tactics.

TONIGHT IN LONG ISLAND, BARACK OBAMA KICKED A**

Objective people who support Obama either with vote, money, organizing , other methods, or all of the aforementioned, loved the Barack Obama who put the pathological liar, Mitt Romney in his place. Personally I would have liked for him to be even more aggressive with Romney, I personally would have physically pushed Romney out of my space, but then again that is among the reasons I am not President of the United States and he is. The sole black person allowed to ask the first black president a question said he voted for Obama , but wanted to know why the president deserved his vote this time around, great question , I thought.

This gave the President a chance to rattle off some of his achievements but more importantly, it gave him the opportunity to focus the electorate on just how grave the economic situation was when he was given the reins. The president won hands down, as usual Romney was disgustingly abrasive and arrogant, talking over the moderator , but more importantly interrupting the President of the United States. The President , by then was in full stride, and he used Romney’s crassness to remind voters of the disrespect that has been meted out to him by many in the Rethuglican[sic] Party. Quote “Candy, I am used to being interrupted”. This was a thinly veiled reference to some of the more recent incidents of disrespect , when a local punk in the employ of a right wink website called the  Daily Caller, interrupted the President when he was still delivering comments in a Rose garden address. Of course the Country remembers well, the infamous and disgusting “you lie” intemperate outburst from Republican Congressman Joe Wilson, while the President was still delivering the State of the Union Address.

Mitt Romney steamrolled his opponents during the Republican Primary process, not just with money advantage, but by using the very same tactics, talking over them , interrupting them, offering $10,000 bets, challenging them to look at their retirement portfolios and a slew of other thug-like tactics, that may have played well with the uninformed back-woods FOX crowd, but I doubt that ultimately that kind of boorish behavior will play positively with other people.

In the end President Obama clearly separated the man from the boy, not that there was any question in my mind that Mitt Romney was an opportunistic lightweight , who ran for Governor of Massachusetts for one term, solely to pad his Resume, because he wanted to run for president. Mitt Romney and his family believes they have a right to the presidency. Remember his wife’s comments” It’s our turn now, it’s Mitt’s turn?.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UM_autAG8s. Mitt Romney is a very qualified Harvard educated corporate raiderhttp://www.thefreedictionary.com/corporate+raider. He was very successful at what he did, and it shows he made a lot of money , he should be very proud of that, if of course money is the barometer which determines success. Mitt Romney clearly does not have an understanding of the way ordinary people live and struggle to survive. On this issue his largest negative is his failure to understand that the blessings he inherited, which have continued into his life up to this point, are not the story of most people. As a result he is very dismissive and unemphatic of people not in his financial class.

That to my mind is a dis-qualifier and on that basis Mitt Romney should not be elected President of the United States of America.

LETS CONDEMN ALL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, IRRESPECTIVE OF THE PERPETRATOR:

October is domestic violence month. The statistics on domestic violence are alarming, the unintended consequences of domestic violence are even more alarming, when we take into account the damage done to kids who witness domestic violence in the home.
An estimated one in every three women worldwide experiences violence, with rates reaching as high as 70 percent in some countries. Gender-based violence ranges from rape to domestic abuse and acid burning to dowry deaths and so-called “honor killings.”Violence against women and girls — in peacetime and in conflict — knows no national or cultural boundaries. We have made tremendous strides in combating these human rights abuses, but there is still much work to be done.http://womenthrive.org/issues/violence?gclid=CIS45si9g7MCFcmd4AodvWsAbg

The issue of domestic violence is rather serious, more and more people are becoming victims of domestic violence, as I write this blog I am painfully aware of a 38-year-old woman and her lover who lost their lives in the Bronx, New York . This woman lost her life in a hail of bullets at the hands of someone with whom she reportedly had two children. How can a man say he loves a woman but is willing to kill her?

It’s really simple men should not abuse their women or their kids. As it relates to children , let me be clear, despite what society tells you, there is a significant difference between discipline and abuse.

That discipline does not however carry over to your spouse or loved one. There is no legal or moral basis for men to discipline their wives or girlfriends. If you cannot get along, part ways amicably and call it a day , you do not own her, she is free to do what she wants, with whomever she wants. (Hope my wife doesn’t read this paragraph).

One more thing on this kids issue, the state is quite willing to hire police officers , arm and empower them to physically assault our children for the most trivial transgressions, and in many cases kill our children. Yet the very state tells you ‚you are not allowed to spank your own children, you have to decide whether your children belong to you or the state. For my part, I have never spanked my children, even though I received more than my fair share of spanking, I chose not to do it, not because it was off the table, it was very much in the tool-box of corrective tools, my boys just never caused me to go to that extent. It certainly was not because some state law told me I could not use whatever reasonable corrective measure I deemed appropriate to raise my children.

But back to the issue at the fore here, the issue of domestic violence.

Yesterday Sunday October 14th I was in Church with my family and of course the issue of domestic violence was front and center, and correctly so. We had a good chuckle when Pastor related that whenever couples come to him for pre-martial counselling he would always ask the woman “has he ever hit you”? He intimated that he would be able to tell if she is telling the truth in relation to his question by the length of time it takes for her to answer, or he would simply watch her eyes. Based on her response he argues ‚he would tell her come back in a year; if he doesn’t hit you again, then maybe you both will be ready for marriage. Pastor joked that by this time the man would be ready to hit him, the congregation exploded into raucous laughter to that last line.

I too found that whole line funny, but I thought there were crucial elements missing from the whole debate, prior to the Pastors comments one female congregant rattled off some frightening statistics on domestic violence , which frankly ought to concern all of us, we have simply got to stop doing that much harm to the people we claim to love.

Absent the whole conversation however was a critical component. That is the issue of women initiating violence and ending up being the worse off for it.

OK, just hold off on the condemnation for a while. I am sure many of you will blast me for that statement accusing me of blaming the victim.

Not so fast my friends, there is ample evidence out there. In my decade long law enforcement career I have heard story after story related to me in my official capacity , of women first introducing physical violence into a relationship only to come out on the wrong end of that exchange.

One of the problems in dealing with domestic violence as with every topical issue, is the predictability of officials to revert to knee-jerk band-aid remedial fixes, which does precious little to fix the problem, but creates a whole slew of other problems on the other end , because they fail to take all points of view into consideration, which would lend itself to rational, well thought out solutions .

It’s like two power-forwards going for a rebound, the guy who doesn’t get the ball elbows the player with the ball, as they run back up-court, the guy who got elbowed retaliate, and is caught doing so by the Referee, he gets a technical foul, he protests , and gets a second technical foul, he is disqualified from participating in the game further. Not only does he get thrown out of the game but that technical foul is added to a season total which further penalizes that player. The player who initiated it all suffers no consequence.

I operate a small business, and I interact with a fair amount of men on a daily and weekly basis, these men come in and they share stories of issues that are front and center in their lives, mostly because I ask what is happening in their lives . Separate and apart from my understanding of the facts as a result of my former law enforcement carrear, the stories I hear are confirmation that yes many men are abusive to their women , but many women initiate violence.

Not only do women initiate violence against their significant other but they use the female friendly criminal justice system to exact revenge and vengeance on the very men they claim to love.

This other side of this sordid saga has received attention largely satirically.

Cop gets called to the house by husband who just gets stabbed, cops arrive , woman is standing above husband with knife in hand as he lays bleeding on the floor, Cop pulls weapon points it on man bleeding on floor, ask woman “did he touch you, did he touch you”?

Satire aside, this is a serious part of the equation which gets excluded from the conversation in the hurry to fix the problem, or probably appear to be doing so.

Many men have related to me their experiences of spending weeks in Jail because their girl-friends or wives were mad about something, she calls the police and reported that she was assaulted, the guy gets arrested and spends a week in Jail. In many cases the same women are the ones who post bail for the men. After she is satisfied of course, that he has been punished enough in her estimation, or when she needs favors from him.

Many of these men end up with expansive rap sheets in many cases undeserved, but mandated by a dastardly criminal justice system, too lazy to draft real legislation, free from the corrosive influence of special interest.

Before writing this blog I spoke to my wife about my thoughts she was stridently convinced that I am wrong on the margins. She believes that the numbers speaks for themselves, she is convinced that the numbers rattled off by nurses at churches are indeed legitimate statistics coming from shelters Police and NGO’s.

I am convinced those statistics tell only a small part of the story.

Absent from those statistics are actual testimonies and recordings of what occurred in each case that made arrest possible, who did what to whom , what we are given are just raw police arrest numbers, , nothing about dismissal of cases, nothing about the specificity inherent in each case.

I spoke to a young man today who for this purpose I will call X , he was arrested for domestic violence some time ago, after being held in jail for over a week he was released. He came to see me to conduct business, he told me why he was in court today October 15th.

They offered X , 6 months in prison and 5 years probation, his crime ? He got into a heated argument with the mother of his child, he got mad, kicked the door of their apartment, and threw the phone to the floor.

I asked him if I could tell his story, he willingly obliged, he would have had me use his name if I wanted to.

A really close family member who has been with his wife for 27 years was arrested on domestic violence charge his life was up ended , he never laid a finger on his wife, not once in those 27 years.

I was to attend a birthday party that night, I was taking my wife and he agreed to take his wife , even though they had some difference that day, I suggested to him that it would be a good ice breaker and a wonderful opportunity for them to patch up their differences.

So he drove home, close to his home he saw his wife driving away with their son, he tried to get her attention by flashing his lights, honking his horn without success.

He thought maybe she was in danger, he though maybe someone was in the car with her forcing her to drive without stopping, he did not know what to think , why would she not respond,? Surely she saw him?

So he drove beside her , honking his horns , not knowing she had called the police, a couple of minutes later the cops pulled both of them over, he was relieved , thinking “thank God the Cops are here, whatever the problem, it will be resolved ” .

Well it was resolved but not in the way he envisaged.

She told the police she was leaving the matrimonial home and he chased her down and she was terrified for her life. He was arrested.

They are back together, but the residual consequences of her actions will haunt and impact their lives for the remainder of their lives. There are countless stories, on both sides of the divide, all I am saying is that if we are to fix this problem, let us first avail ourselves to the full realities.

Domestic violence affects both men and women, and it definitely has devastating consequences for children, let’s fix the problem without leaving anyone out .

Let’s fix the problem without demonizing anyone, let’s be fair.

JAMAICA’S BROKEN JUSTICE SYSTEM AND IT’S DANGEROUS CONSEQUENCES:

Mob killings. Extra-Judicial Police Killings. Police Corruption. Citizens Silence. Witnesses failing to turn up to give evidence in Court. High Crime Rates. What do all of these things have in common? A broken-down ineffective Justice System!

Jamaica is no stranger to Mob-killings, however, anyone who cares about a civil society needs to be very concerned about the rash of Mob-killings that seem to be on the rise in Jamaica. As I stated in the paragraph above, killings in Jamaica is common-place, there are killings of all type to include Mob-killings.

Many of my fellow Jamaicans argue with me on this, they disagree with me talking about the crime situation in my native Jamaica with such frequency and openness. They argue we should not air our dirty laundry in public, they argue there is crime everywhere, they implicitly believe that if we don’t speak about it it will fix itself, or no one will notice.

With this approach, I respectfully beg to differ with my friends. Covering up a sore under one’s clothes does nothing to make that sore better. An assessment must be done to determine why that sore doesn’t heal, is it diabetes? Is it as a result of a lack of white blood cells in the body? These are the questions that would have to be asked to address that sore, not ignoring it ‚or pretending it doesn’t exist.

A sore left unattended will fester it will develop a stench if left unattended long enough could result in an amputation, or worse. Those are the stark realities of the crime situation in Jamaica.

The consequences of an amputation are devastating, a severed member is irreversible, yes you may attach a prosthetic limb but it is at best a replacement. Why wait until the need arises for an amputation when we can heal the sore and prevent the inevitable amputation?

I have been sounding the alarm on this runaway crime situation for two decades since I walked away from law enforcement. Our country simply is being choked to death as a result of runaway crime and incompetent leadership.

Mob killings are particularly alarming on various levels, they are bloodlust revenge killings, which allow people already predisposed to wanton acts of brutality to act out their gruesome desires on the innocent with devastating consequences.

They are irreversible acts of violence, perpetrated on people who are many times, absolutely innocent of the crimes they are accused, condemned, and executed for.

Recently well know anti-Police antagonist Peter Espeut opined that the police are giving tacit support to mobs who engage in mob killings.

Peter Espeut is a sociologist and executive director of an environment and development NGO. Espeute had a lot to say but I thought in his extensive diatribe this was what was noteworthy.

And what sort of example are we given by agents of the State? The reason Jamaica has one of the highest rates of police killings in the world is that of the same vigilante spirit that has caused the deaths of Michael Melbourne and Donovan Hazley. Many of our policemen — similarly emotionally immature — cannot control themselves, and when they are in the presence of someone they believe to be guilty, they choose to try, convict and sentence him themselves. It is reported in yesterday’s Gleaner that the Rev Karl Johnson, general secretary of the Jamaica Baptist Union, referring to the recent vigilante killings, asks, “Could it be that there is a sense in which some of us, including our law-enforcement agents, are silent supporters of some of these acts, hence, are not as repulsed by them or as anxious to prosecute the guilty ones as we should?” Rev Johnson wants to know why the police seem reluctant to prosecute members of vigilante mobs, and wonders if the police are “silent supporters” of “the mob justice, the community penalty”? I would like to put it to Rev Johnson that one of the reasons the police are reluctant to prosecute mob killers is obvious: that mob killer and the police use the same tactics and operate from the same philosophy; and that should vigilante killers begin to be brought to book, they, the police, are afraid they would be next! Both the police and vigilante mobs have little confidence in our court system to deliver justice. Too many guilty people hire smart QCs and get off on technicalities. Police killings and mob killings do not contribute to clogging the courts and do not put stress on the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to make rulings and prosecute cases.

Peter Espeut has long-held a grudge against law enforcement and police officers, I am unaware of the reason for that animus but once again Espeut misses the mark by blaming the victim.

Blaming the Police for mob killings is synonymous to blaming a rape victim for wearing a short skirt in public. Espeuts venom and decades-old bias against police make it impossible for him to see that the police are as many victims as the mobs doing the killings.

How do I reconcile that philosophy you ask?

Both the Police and the mob are exasperated with the justice system. Whatever their actions, their actions are symptoms of a greater and deeper problem. The problem of a broken justice system. I have warned that this would happen for years, the chickens have come home to roost.

Peter Espeut the sociologist’ vision and perception are clouded by decades of hatred for law enforcement. Mister Espeut may want to take a deeper look, or risk having his credibility called into serious question, if indeed he has any credibility left, or had any, to begin with.

Mob killings are a problem for police, as they are for ordinary citizens. They endanger the lives of everyone, including police officers, a juiced up mob is incapable of making rational decisions, it is incapable of assessing any situation or coming to reasoned conclusions. A mob is intent on one thing, the need for blood.

Many years ago a friend of mine was contracted to transport a group of people from Kingston to Saint Mary to attend a funeral. My friend Neville was an enterprising young bus operator, I was a young Police Officer, we had been friends for years, I operated a small business on premises owned by Neville’s mother-in-law, and I lived across the street from that location. Neville came to my home and roused me from my sleep that day, he wanted me to accompany him to Saint Mary on the trip. He didn’t know any of the people he was transporting. I was off from work, it was my only day off, I was dog-tired. I told Neville I couldn’t go I was tired and wanted to sleep, he begged and pleaded, and begged and pleaded, I eventually relented.

We journeyed to Saint Mary, I cannot recall the exact location in that Parish, but on our arrival there, the people we transported went up a hill to the funeral and we were left in the village square to spend our time at the local watering hole awaiting their return so we could head back to Kingston.

We sat in the little watering hole nursing a couple of Red Stripe Beers, I noticed that a group of people had started to gather, but I wasn’t alarmed, I just shrugged it off as country people being curious to see visitors to their community, something which didn’t happen every day.

Something eventually struck me as different with those people, however, as time went on they seemed agitated, they whispered to themselves, a few of them had machetes, and for some strange reason, I seemed to be the object of their attention.

One man pushed his way through the small crowd and came up to me, he looked me in the face and said: ” a yu dem a gu kill, dem say a yu poison de man we dead”.

It took me a while to mutter the single word, “what”?

The man continued ” yu tan de , dem a gu kill yu, dem seh a yu poison dem fren”

Neville looked at me, I looked at him, we were both at a loss for words, probably the only time I was ever at a loss for words in my entire life. A lot of things flashed through my mind. I did not know any of the people we transported to Saint Mary that day, I damn sure did not know the deceased, never met him, was this how I was supposed to die? hacked to death with my friend, accused and condemned to death and executed for a crime I did not commit, or even know about?

All was not lost, however, speechless though I was, we were not without options. I pulled myself back from the bright lights and the winged Angels that I envisaged, to a more earthly solution, that solution was my Browning Semi-Automatic pistol with an extended clip loaded and one extra clip also loaded, and one in the breach. I figured if I was to die there would be a lot of dead native Saint Mary residents going with me that day.

Before I went to the nuclear option I thought I would first try the art of negotiation. This is where training comes in. I decided if they were not responsive to negotiations then the first person who stepped toward me would get a 9mm bullet squarely in the forehead, I would stand still, legs apart, weapon pointed squarely at the next hero, there would be no flinching, that would be the way it would go down until I was out of ammunition, or they came to their senses and break for safety, whichever came first.

I stood up, pulled my weapon, and made sure it was visible in my right hand, in my left hand I held my Badge. “People “I bellowed, “I am a Police Officer, I don’t know what your problem is, but whatever it is, you got the wrong guy, go home and no one will get hurt”.

It took awhile to sink in, then all of a sudden it seemed like the energy was virtually let out of the crowd, shoulders drooping they said ” sorry officer yu look like de man we dem seh poison de man weh dead”

I was mortified but deeply angry, I could have ended up hacked to death simply because someone said I resembled someone whom they suspected of poisoning someone.

Ok I’m sure it took you some time to decipher that one, the only reason I brought this story up was to illustrate that those who claim to know why people do the things they do , or seek to discredit others or make charges based on old sores covered over by festering scabs, ought to be careful with their assertions, the higher a monkey climb is the more he exposes himself.

The Criminal Justice System in Jamaica is broken, no one has faith in it, all of the resultant symptoms I noted in the opening paragraph are simply consequences of that broken system. Left unattended there will be even greater and more consequential symptoms to come.

Jamaica needs leadership, what the country has is a bunch of lackeys on both sides, immersed in pomp and formality but lack the most basic understanding of what it takes to govern effectively.

It is not too late, but that time is fast approaching.

THERE ARE NO UNDECIDED VOTERS:

THE MOST RECENT NBC/WALL-STREET JOURNAL POLL REVEALED THAT 91% OF PEOPLE POLLED STATED THAT THEY MADE THEIR MINDS UP BEFORE THE FIRST PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE.

Wait , wait , wait just a minute there ‚.….so you mean to tell me that all of the tens of millions of dollars both presidential candidates spent on TV Ads, and other expenses were actually wasted.

How could that be? All the talking-heads do is sit in Television studios and talk about nothing but Independent Voters day in day out. So Florida, Virginia, North Carolina and Ohio you mean they are just States desperate for attention that they claim they are independents just to get saturated and inundated with TV advertising and candidate visits?

I’ll get back to that.!!

Here’s the thing, I love politics, I hate politicians ! Why ? Because they lie, I hate liars, so there.

This recent revelation has confirmed what I have believed for a long time and I have said so in these blogs , there is no such thing as an independent voter. Every person have their leaning, they may not be very enthused about a particular candidate or party and may need to hear the candidate from the other party. Or they may be totally clueless, or oblivious to the facts.

Let’s examine what’s happening in America as we speak .

REPUBLICAN PARTYDEMOCRATIC PARTY

Are against a woman’s right to choose.….….….….…Supports a woman’s right to make her own decision.

Are against civil rights.….….….….….….….….….……Fights daily for the civil rights of all Americans.

Are against immigrants rights.….….….….….….….…Is the party of the dream Act Republicans are against.

Are against ordinary people having health-care.….Passes the affordable care Act(Obama care).

Are against the state helping the poor.….….….……Supports helping Americans getting help so the may continue with their lives.

Are against Gay rights.….….….….….….….….….….…Supports marriage equality.

Are constantly for wars.….….….….….….….….….…..Believe in peace through strength and respect for all nations.

Believes only certain people should vote.….….……Believes all Americans should be allowed to vote.

Believes in wasteful spending on the military.….…..Believes in a strong, lean military.

Believes in giving tax cuts to the rich only.….….…..Believes in tax cuts for all Americans.

There are a litany of other contrasting characteristics for Americans to look at, how can any American voter claim to not know the issues? How can anyone claim to be unable to make up their mind ? How can any American claim to be undecided?

If you are a rich mindless oligarch of course you vote for the Republican Party.

If you are someone else then the choice is clear, the other party must be your choice.

Many years ago a company, I worked for participated in a job fair , we had a kiosk which I was asked to man , I was the face of my company. The fair was well attended, I was blown away at the amount of people who attended, but I was even more amazed at the journey many of the people traveled ‚older people who weren’t looking for jobs, they were just there out of curiosity, they were there just to enjoy the fair.

I brought this up because I want to relate to the need some people have for attention., just to be a part of something. This is similar to the people who live in certain states who claim they are undecided, to them I say bull, you just want people to pay attention to you, you know who you will vote for, stop with the lies.

The Disillusioned Black Americans:

I have concluded that some black Americans, were of the belief, before and after the US elections, that saw Barack Obama being elected President, that all their needs would have been taken care of, a perception no doubt, which slowly eroded and evaporated when Obama came into office and their expectations were not realized. This has been substantiated Jamaica.by the very voice of some ignorant black US citizens themselves and extended families here in Jamaica.

Unfortunately, in their quest to establish reason to dispel Obama as a credible president for all American people and not just for a particular ethnic group, the deluded have blamed an increasingly depressed global economic situation, exacerbated by the remnants of the Bush domestic initiative and his Middle East exploration, as the cause for their stagnant economic situation.

So, the disillusioned , it seems, have decided that they will not be voting for Obama and in some instances high profile blacks have jumped ship and gone to the Republican camp, believing the mendacious , flip flopper Mitt Romney’s plan for economic development , a paln which he has no credibility .

I would advise them to step backwards and look at the bigger picture, and see what Romney has been offering or should I say selling, which is quite obvious from his very pronouncement that his intention is to make the rich richer, by reinstating the very failed policies of the Bush administration and a deregulated management of the country’s economy which favours the rich, indeed, an unbridled capitalism.

Obama’s policy’s have not been effective enough to make serious inroads in addressing the US’ socio-economic woes which are indeed many, and from where I stand, neither does the Grand Old Party (GOP) have a solution to address the economic and foreign concerns of the US, the flip flopper Romney has demonstrated that he is clueless, and has no vision to revive the country’s economy.

If one is faced with one of two choices to decide the way forward to progress, wouldn’t it be prudent to choose the one whose course is plausible, realistic and can make your circumstances a little better. The problem is, with predominantly white America and weary disillusioned blacks not looking at the issues and being objective I will not be at all surprised if a Mitt Romney becomes president , I hope I will be proven wrong come the November election .

Errol McLeish

MISTER PRESIDENT, STOP THE BIG BIRD NONSENSE :

What the hell is wrong with Barack Obama? Does he think the ass kicking he took from Mitt Romney last week was a laughing matter?

Here’s a clue mister President, no one thinks it’s funny, except maybe you. The fact of the matter mister President is that the performance you turned in was rather pathetic.

Many of the people who support you have a right to be concerned, obviously even though you are the person at the top of this thing you fail to seriously grasp that there is much more at stake than your interest.

As The Reverend Al Sharpton said quote” this election is not about Barack Obama, it’s about your mama”.

The truth is you and your family are set for life but there are other people who seriously depend on you winning this election for many reasons.

Who gets appointed to the supreme court.

Who gets health-care.

A woman’s right to choose.

Who gets to vote.

War and peace.

College tuition.

And a host of other issues, now mister president I am not about to tell you how to run your campaign , in fact you have run a series of winning campaigns, so suffer it that I tell you how to run this one.

But what the hell are you doing running big bird Ads at this stage of the campaign?

No one thinks it’s funny or germane to the seriousness of the issues confronting the country, factually it makes your campaign look downright unprepared to continue to lead.

The explanation you gave for that shocking debate performance on the Tom Joyner radio show was even more curious, you wanted to be polite?

There is nothing wrong with being polite, there is nothing wrong with being tired, there is nothing wrong with being unprepared.

But here’s a bit of news mister president , you need to put your big boy pants on, these losers are playing for keeps, they have no scruples, there is nothing beneath them , you need to get down in the mud, good guys finish last.

No matter how tired, I am, no matter how polite I want to be , no matter how unprepared I am, if Romney came at me like he came at you, you can bet your sweet life I am fighting like hell, all the tiredness is gone, all the mister nice guy is gone , and you bet I would remember that he was lying, and you damn right I would have the facts to confront his lies.

And guess what mister president ? I am not the president.

I am so turned off hearing you on the campaign trail talking about big bird. Mister President did you hear how Bill Clinton explain stuff at the convention? Oh one more thing Sir, did you hear what Mister Clinton had to say at his last campaign appearance for you? You really need to stop with the foolish tired old lines and explain to people what you stand for this is no joke.

Thank you.

The Face Of A Liar

PATHOLOGICALLY MENDACIOUS:

I am just totally and comprehensively stunned and mortified at the ease and alacrity with which the Republican Candidate for President, Mitt Romney lies outright and straight-faced.

Here’s is what Romney said regarding the Palestinian issue.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19637631

You hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize that this is going to remain an unsolved problem.and we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve it,” Romney said.http://campaigntrailreport.com/2012/09/18/more-outrageously-outrageous-quotes-from-candid-romney-video

Here’s what Mitt Romney said on Monday October 8th on the very same subject.

I will recommit America to the goal of a democratic, prosperous Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with the Jewish state of Israel. On this vital issue, the president has failed, and what should be a negotiation process has devolved into a series of heated disputes at the United Nations. In this old conflict, as in every challenge we face in the Middle East, only a new president will bring the chance to begin anew.

On Defense cuts:

I will roll back President Obama’s deep and arbitrary cuts to our national defense that would devastate our military.”

Here’s the truth:

Defense cuts do not belong to Obama alone but also to congressional Republicans, including his vice presidential running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan. The first round of cuts in projected defense spending is the result of a bipartisan deal in August 2011 between Congress and the White House to wrestle down the deficit. Unless a new budget deal is reached in time, additional spending cuts will begin in January across government, and the cost to the Pentagon would be $500 billion over a decade. Lawmakers are working to avoid that. Separately, Obama wants to slow the growth of military spending, now that the war in Iraq is ended and the war in Afghanistan is drawing to a close. The Pentagon’s budget, including war costs, is $670 billion this year, or about 18 percent of total federal spending. Even setting aside the costs of the wars, military spending has more than doubled since 2001.(mprnews)

On Trade, Romney said:

The president has not signed one new free trade agreement in the past four years.”

The Truth:

Obama completed some big ones, overcoming opposition from fellow Democrats to do so. After taking office, he revived a free-trade deal with Colombia that had been negotiated by his Republican predecessor but left to languish without congressional approval and sought similar progress with South Korean and Panamanian free-trade pacts. The president delayed submitting the three deals to Congress while he tried to placate Democrats who opposed some of the terms, but finally submitted them in 2011, and Congress approved them.

Romney

On issue after issue not only has this guy taken multiple positions, depending on what’s convenient at a given time , he has unashamed lied with a straight face. Republicans are on television extolling the virtues of Mitt Romney, they paint him as an upright family man who gives generously to his church.

The hypocrisy of these platitudes, is the obvious fact that neither Romney nor his protagonists understand that lying is a sin. Lying is a despicable affront to God, he charges in his holy commandments not to bear false witness, yet Romney lies like we’ve never seen a presidential candidate in our lifetime. I do confess that lies are one of my greatest pet peeves, as a child my grand parents told me Quote: “He who hides the wrong he did, does the wrong thing still” That quote helped to shape my life, it created in me a disdain not just for for the act of lying (the verb) but for the person who lies, (the noun).

Trust is an integral part of the human character, it is one of the best barometer of a person’s worth or dependability, it tells us deep down how we may relate to that individual. Mitt Romney has demonstrated time and again that his words mean nothing.

It is shocking when someone like Newt Gingrich can credibly and irrefutable indict Romney’s credibility. Throughout the Republican primaries Gingrich and Texas Governor Rick Perry repeatedly blasted Romney for lack of character, and accused him of willing to say and do anything to get elected.

Objective observers to this election cycle will readily attest to the fact that Romney has shown zero character as it relates to the most vile racial elements within his party. He has shown that he will also say anything he deems necessary to anyone who will support him. He has repeatedly said that he need 50% plus one to win the election so that make it impossible to reprimand anyone, irrespective of how vile that supporter is.

The hypocrisy of Romney is that everywhere he goes he yells to whomever will listen , (frothing at the mouth), that the president is responsible for everything that happens in his administration, probably correctly so. but when he is required to assume leadership for those within his party and their reprehensible and despicable behavior, Romney claims he cannot be responsible for the actions of everyone.

This is a fundamental and important character flaw in a man who wants to be president. A president of the United States must have character, not just for their supporters, but to represent America at home and also abroad.

World leaders are not impressed with Romney, they have no idea what he stands for, not just on the lies he speaks, but on his utterances to the Palestinians, the Spaniards, the Chinese, the Russians, Muslims, Cubans, Venezuelans, and most other people not white Anglo-Saxons.

This is not just a question of character or lack thereof, this is a dangerous posture, eerily reminiscent of the posture adopted by the warmongering neo-cons who made up the Bush Administration, who forced out more sane players like Colin Powell.

The most shocking thing about the Romney presidential run is that it is exactly a return to the Bush/Chaney years. The only difference is that it will be worse, if anyone in their right mind believe that the Administration which almost wrecked America will restore prosperity to their lives, they are dead wrong.

Romney has made no bones about what he wants to do with America, build up the Military,(not take care of veterans) Building his 15 new naval vessels each year, they will explode the deficit and further fatten the fat-cats who are in the military industrial complex.

His signing on to the unconscionable Paul Ryan Budget should be warning enough that those who are not rich. well tough luck.

Romney’s bellicose warmongering and unequivocal support for Israel and it’s equally belligerent war-monger Prime Minister , Benjamin Netanyahu should be a wake up call to all players on this planet who care about world peace. This guy ‚who never served a day in the Military, and did not let even one of his 5 sons, do a single day of military service, is hell-bent on starting world war 3.

It is same of all the others, From Dick Cheney, John Bolton, Carl Rove, Richard Perle ‚Don Señor, Paul Wolfowitz,or any of the neo-cons who are buried deep within the recesses of the Beltway Republican lexicon, they are mighty tough as long as they do not have to fight the war.

Is this what America wants? Pundits and prognosticators argue that America is war-weary, not looking for another conflict , if this is true why is this presidential race close?

Is half of America’s hatred for the black race so strong that it is willing to destroy America by entrusting it to a total empty suit ? Any empty suit who may have acquired two advanced degree from one of America’s most prestigious schools, but has shown that other than the formal schooling, he is little more than well.….…. an empty suit.

JAMAICA MUST HAVE TOUGH COPS IN ORDER TO CONTAIN CRIMINALS:

The story of former Detective Isiah Laing, in Monday’s Jamaica Observer, is reminiscent of the stories many other front line officers of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, now referred to as (name brand cops) will relate, and have already related.

http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/Laing-ready-to-be-a-cop-again_12706892

I have written extensively regarding the same issues Isaiah Laing laments. I’ve done so in these blogs, in other mediums and in a book I wrote detailing my one decade in the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Laing, rightly assess that crime in Jamaica is big business, it is fed by people at the very top, unscrupulous people, who head critical areas of our Government and civil society who should have no clearance, even to enter through the doors of any Government facility.

Understandably, Laing still chafes, even as he airs his grouse with Former Army transplant, Trevor Macmillan, for retiring him and others from the department. Laing misses the deeper issue, however,of what and who created the dysfunction which allowed an interloper and a carpetbagger to be placed in that critical a law enforcement position.

Isiah Laing

The fact of the matter is that Jamaica must have strong cops who are unafraid to tackle criminals where they eat, sleep, and my favorite, where they have sex.

Jamaicans have a unique way in the way they see law enforcement officers, many know-nothings argue that Jamaica’s police officers must be like first world police forces. That strategy is all well and good, but the reality is we are not a first world country. Jamaican’s go out of their way to demand that their officers are tough and decisive.

If officers are not tough they are deemed to be weak and incompetent, they get no respect, no information.

As a young Detective stationed at the (CIB) Constant Spring, I would arrive at work and there would be sometimes a dozen people waiting to see me even though there were over 20 detectives stationed there.

As a young officer on the Rangers Squad, a man walked up to me and said “officer I saw you in action earlier today, I’m going to tell you where to find an M16 Rifle“I was in civilian clothes heading home.

Cornwall (bigga) Ford

He proceeded to give me the exact address, told me there is a dread,(Rastafarian) living there, he said he knows nothing about the gun treat him well.

Next day that information was dead-on correct, as I led a team of my colleagues to the very address he gave me in Greenwich Farm, where I recovered the retractable stock Rifle, exactly in the ceiling as he had said it would be.

The Rastafarian was there washing his clothes, as I promised the gentleman, I treated him kindly and respectfully.

When the indomitable Cornwall (Bigga) Ford was transferred from Constant Spring to Flying Squad I was one of 4 officers sent to try to fill that gap. The fact that they thought to send 4 officers to try to the fill the gap of one departed name brand cop, speaks volumes as to the effect of said name brand cops.

It was exhilarating to me to be among those chosen to fill those large shoes. I swore to myself that I would make sure with every fiber of my being that I earned that spot on the CIB team. The very first day on foot Patrol at the corner of Barbican Road and Grant’s Pen, in a building owned by a Rastafarian called Coptic, I accosted a man and took from his waistband a loaded Smith and Wesson Revolver.

I later learned at the CIB office that man was the infamous (Chicken Toe). I was told that the Constant Spring Police were looking for Chicken Toe for a long time, Chicken Toe was sitting in a Tailor Shop situated in the Coptic Building, unconcerned.

Chicken Toe received 2 years in prison for the illegal weapon, he was not prosecuted for any other offense, despite the age-old story of “we want him for questioning” .

After being released from prison Chicken Toe came to see me, he thanked me for not shooting him during the arrest. For the duration of the time I stayed at Constant Spring, Chicken Toe was neutralized as a potential problem for law enforcement.

Many Judges used me as an example of what they thought good officers should be. Basil Reid lashed out at officers who criticized him for turning criminals loose,” do your investigations like Detective Beckles and you won’t have anything to complain about” Many others like Judge McIntosh and his wife were flowery with praise for my work. The point is where are we now? All of us are now out of the force.

I chose to leave, even after successfully sitting the accelerated examination.I did not see the Constabulary as a viable career path for me. One can be tough and smart at the same time, those two defining characteristics are not mutually exclusive.

I took numerous guns off the streets, Guys like Dadrick Henry and myself were relentless, we drove the fear of God into criminals, there were no Dons within my sphere of influence, not one until I departed the Police Force in 1991.

My attack on crime did not go unnoticed however, there were many run-ins with politicians, I arrived at work one morning and learned that there was a fatal shooting involving officers at Constant Spring overnight.

I was transferred back to the Mobile Reserve even though I knew nothing about that shooting and was not even at work that night.

Carl Samuda the Member of Parliament and Deputy Commissioner Ebanks cooked up that transfer. I had previously forced Samuda to observe the rules regarding where he hung out within the confines of a polling station. Samuda though he was exempt from the laws, he wasn’t in my book.

What Samuda and Ebanks did not bargain for was the unintended consequences, of the reaction of the people I served, once they learned that I was summarily shipped out they blocked the streets and demand that their police officer is returned, all hell broke loose. Former Assistant Commissioner of Police Cleve Leon (jaggamore) was then the head of the Mobile Reserve, he called me into his office and asked me ” young man what is it between you and those people demonstrating out there”? I told him with three words, “mutual respect sir”.

Cleve Leon told me, ‘the Commissioner wants you to pick up your stuff and go back to your people” I told ACP Leon, “Sir I have nothing to pick up’, I was gone. The Commissioner of Police then was Herman Rickets.

People in Jamaica demand strong police officers, they test officers themselves, if the police are neutered or shackled they look to others to fill the void.

They have found others to fill the void. They found the Dons.

Dons are not bound by rules, they kill at will, no one dare question them, the politicians are quite happy with them.

I too felt that I would return if asked to give my service to restore sanity to the country, Doctorates, and Masters cannot end crime. On this Laing is correct. It does not require rocket scientists to eradicate crime. Jamaica’s Scientists are hardly any good what are we to do populate the scientific community with cops?

Jamaica is on a downward slide toward anarchy, sorry Isiah, enjoy your life they do not deserve you.

I won’t say much more, I ask you all to read it in my book.

GOOD RIDDANCE GREG ANTHONY:

Devastating news, those of us on the left who support President Obama and the 99% were greeted with the follow-up right hook to the left upper-cut Mitt Romney gave to our candidate in the first debate. Greg Anthony former NBA player has decided to support Mitt Romney.

I’m unsure how the Obama campaign will recover from this one two punch of the effects of losing the first debate to Romney , followed by the even more consequential loss of the vote of mister Anthony.

Former NY Knick Guard Greg Anthony.

Mister Anthony has been featured in a Romney Campaign Ad blasting the president for making excuses for the economy, whilst throwing his support to mister Romney.

http://thegrio.com/2012/10/05/greg-anthony-featured-in-new-ad-supporting-mitt-romney/?fb_ref=http%3A%2F%2Fthegrio.com

Anthony played eleven season in the NBA and is mostly remembered for his tenure with the New York Knicks during the early 1990s. He was far more successful in college, where he starred with other future NBA players Larry Johnson and Stacey Augmon at UNLV. The 1990 team won an NCAA Championship.

In college, Anthony was a national vice-chairman for the Young Republicans from 1989 – 91. He is currently a basketball analyst on NBA TV and CBS Sports.(the grio.com)

I am sure President Obama is appreciative of all who voted/will vote for him, after all the work he set out do is far from finished, to be honest we appreciated the fact that Greg Anthony a life-long Republican said he voted for the president the first time around.

But you see you never were a believer Mister Anthony, after all your record shows you were an interloper rather than a died in the wool believer in the cause.

Of Racial Justice.

Of Respect for women and all people , irrespective of color, class, sexual orientation, religion and any other defining characteristic.

Of the desire for fairness, believing in the fundamental principle that we are our brother’s keeper, that we should not give hand-outs but should always be willing to give a hand up to our fellow-man.

Of the desire for peace and harmony on earth, understanding that someone who is different that we are , are not alien to be bombed, but our brothers to be learned and appreciated .

You see mister Anthony, those are Democratic principles.

The very genesis of your existence was an irreconcilable oxymoron. As a black-skinned man who in college was vice-chair of the young republicans you were already a walking contradiction.

I can see how someone like you would enter college without any struggle , gets accepted into a sports league, make millions and assume that is the lot of others.

What is really instructive is that you allow yourself to be used by a man, a campaign and a party which has zero respect for you , or your race, but find it convenient to feature you in their AD over 308 million other Americans.

There is only one way to tear down a black man and that is to use another black man to do it, obviously college was of little use to Greg Anthony beyond basketball.

I can totally understand how Anthony would berate the president, accusing him of making excuses, for saving the Auto Industry. Killing Osama Bin Laden. Pulling the economy back from the brink, creating over 5 million jobs in the process. Ending the war in Iraq. Allowing Gays to serve their country in the nation’s military, like any other American. Signing the Lily Ledbetter Act Into Law, affording women equal pay for equal work. Signing trade agreements with other countries which creates manufacturing jobs here in America. Winding down the Afghan war. Restoring America’s credibility and Integrity abroad in the eyes of the world, a sharp deviation from torture, rendering prisoners of war to other countries to be tortured and God knows what else. Decimating Al Qaeda.Using Executive action to give hope to dreamers.

There is much more that the president has done that is worthy of mister Anthony’s ire.

Conversely I totally get Greg Anthony’s admiration for Mitt Romney a pathological liar, what’s not to like?

A man who indiscriminately writes off 47% of the country he wants to lead, labeling them takers and moochers. A man who says exactly what each and every audience in every demographic group wants to hear. A man who lacks the character to stand up and say “NO” to the racists in his party. A man who has lied himself about the president’s record, and stood spineless by while his supporters and contributors use every demeaning caricature to describe our president. A man who avoided serving in any branch of the military and neither does any of his kids , but is a right-wing hawk with America’s military power, where have we seen this before?

I understand Mister Anthony’s admiration for a man who never, ever opens his mouth to do what men do, be men, by saying enough to the most vile despicable racist that now make up a large swath of the republican party.

There is much more to be said on the issue of Mister Greg Anthony, but when Greg Anthony is evaluated it is easy to understand his political position.

Greg Anthony was at best a mediocre point Guard who played back-up to Derrick Harper on the New York Knicks. At the zenith of his basketball carrear he was a backup, as he was mediocre at the thing he does best, we get how his political judgement could be this misguided.

Greg we are happy to see you go, and while you are leaving , take Arthur Davis, and Allen West with you, we do not want the interpretation of black men any more tainted.

PS:

Listening to Republicans talk about the state of the economy, if one did not know any better one would have thought that the last Administration in office which devastated the economy was a Democratic Administration.

Republicans do not mention the name Bush, but I will say it.

George Bush was the person who devastated the economy, with huge tax-cuts- give-aways to the richest Americans.

Two unfunded Wars.

Allowed Wall Street unbridled access to do whatever it pleased.

And massive expansion of the Federal bureaucracy.

Just though Republicans need some reminding.
